Thought for the day

"The problem is not the clown on the throne…he isn’t actually the problem and if he wasn’t there, some other psycho would be there. Which is why the crappy idea of statism is what has to go." -- Larken Rose

A US destroyer and a Canadian frigate sailed through the Taiwan Strait on Tuesday in the latest joint operation aimed at reinforcing the route's status as an international waterway.

The United States has long used 'freedom of navigation' passages through the Taiwan Strait to push back against Chinese claims and Western allies have increasingly joined these operations.

Clash of the two systems of governance, as George Soros formulated it in his remarks to the World Economic Forum conference in May, seems to have reached a phase transition.

Joe Biden: Not Rational to Deport Migrants MikeRivero Wed, 09/21/2022 - 09:21

President Joe Biden suggested on Tuesday it is “not rational” to return economic migrants to their homes in the autocratic states of Cuba, Nicaragua, and Venezuela.

“Fewer immigrants [are] coming from Central America and from Mexico,” Biden told reporters when he was asked about the huge migration on Friday. He added:

This is a totally different circumstance [from prior years]. What’s on my watch now is Venezuela, Cuba, and Nicaragua.  And the ability to send them [the migrants] back to those states is not rational.

Republicans on the House Oversight and Reform Committee have obtained bombshell documents proving that Joe Biden was deeply involved in the family business of selling American natural gas to the Chinese–while he was planning to run for President. According to multiple whistleblowers, the Biden family made promises to those who worked with them in 2017 and onward that they would “reap the rewards in a future Biden administration.” These explosive revelations “pose national security concerns,” Oversight Republicans proclaimed Tuesday night.

IN MARCH 2018, the U.S. government decided that five Yemeni men were so dangerous that there was only one solution: They needed to die. After a U.S. military commander gave the final sign-off, a missile ripped through their SUV, near the village of Al Uqla, and tossed the car into the air. Three of the men were killed instantly. Another died days later in a local hospital. The only survivor was Adel Al Manthari.

Two new polls from Morning Consult and Concerned Veterans for America show at least a plurality of Americans are tired of interventionism. The results show twice as many Americans want to send less aid to Ukraine than those who would support sending more.

The top Asia official on the White House’s National Security Council said Monday that President Biden’s recent comments on defending Taiwan “speak for themselves” and rejected the characterization that the White House walked them back.

“I do not believe that it is appropriate to call the remarks that came from the White House today as walking back the president’s remarks,” said Kurt Campbell, the NSC’s coordinator for Indo-Pacific affairs.
