Earlier this month, a bipartisan bill was introduced in Congress that, among other important provisions to combat undue foreign influence in politics, would ban former members of Congress from lobbying on behalf of foreign governments.

New Quincy Institute research finds that this congressional action is long overdue as the revolving door from Congress to lobbying on behalf of foreign interests has been spinning feverishly.

Turkish court dropped charges against 26 Saudis who had been implicated in the gruesome killing of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, Turkish media reported on Friday.

A new study has revealed that prisoners detained for opposing the government of Saudi Arabia are being sexually assaulted and murdered in prison, as reported by The Independent.

Joe Biden is slated to visit Saudi Arabia next month, a significant restoration of relations with the kingdom, which soured following the 2018 murder of Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi.

In 2018, President Trump issued a statement reaffirming the U.S.'s long-standing relationship with the Saudi royal family on the ground that this partnership serves America's “national interests.” Trump specifically cited the fact that “Saudi Arabia is the largest oil producing nation in the world” and has purchased hundreds of billions of dollars worth of weapons from U.S. arms manufacturers.

President Joe Biden told reporters that he hadn't decided whether to visit Saudi Arabia to beg for more oil before seconds later saying he was indeed planning a trip there.

'Have you decided whether or not to go to Saudi Arabia,' Biden is asked by a reporter.

'No, not yet,' the president replies on camera.
