White House staffers reportedly told Joe Biden to remove a line from his Oct 10 speech about Hamas "beheading" babies because the claims were "unverified" but he ignored them and told the American people he saw "confirmed pictures" of the fake atrocities instead.

At Saturday’s great march in support of Palestine in London, police arrested members of the Communist Party of Great Britain Marxist-Leninist (CPGBML) for having a pamphlet on sale on their stall.

The “illegal” pamphlet is entitled Zionism: A Racist, Anti-Semitic and Reactionary Tool of Imperialism.

Mediator Qatar said on Monday a truce between Israeli and Hamas forces in Gaza had been extended by two days, continuing a pause in seven weeks of warfare that has killed thousands and laid waste to the Palestinian enclave.

"An agreement has been reached to extend the humanitarian pause for an additional two days in the Gaza Strip," a Qatari foreign ministry spokesperson said in a post on social media platform X.

The United Nations chief hailed Monday's two-day extension of a truce between Israel and Hamas in Gaza as a "glimpse of hope."

"It's a glimpse of hope and humanity in the middle of the darkness of war and I strongly hope that these will enable us to increase even more the humanitarian aid to the people in Gaza that is suffering so much," Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said. Without more time, "it will be impossible to satisfy all the dramatic needs of the population in Gaza."

A man pleaded not guilty to attempted murder Monday in connection with the weekend shooting of three college students of Palestinian descent in Vermont — an attack that is being investigated as a possible hate crime.
