"Nobody gets up one day and decides to be a terrorist for no reason. They don't hate us for our freedoms. They hate us and commit acts of terror because one day, as they are going about their normal lives, there is a horrendous blast and people they have known all their lives are lying in bloody shreds at their feet, mixed in with shrapnel stamped 'Made in the USA.'" -- Michael Rivero
Australia’s authorities are once again putting pressure on social media, X this time, threatening that the company will face big fines and “big trouble” in general – unless “mis- and dis-” information is censored.
And, it is Australia’s new laws, when they come into force this year, that will represent the legal grounds for such actions.
The fines would run up to $3 million or 2 percent of annual turnover for “voluntary code of conduct” violations, and $7.8 million or 5 percent of annual turnover in case of lack of compliance with the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) “standards.”
The sad Michael Mann defamation case against Mark Steyn and Rand Simberg ended last week in the even sadder confines of the Washington D.C. Superior Court. The verdict was awful for those believing in free speech and the right to engage in public criticism of public figures like Mann. And, of more concern, subtly continues the bashing of the scientific method that has become a feature of the last 20 years or so.
The trial showed that climate scientist Mann had no damages to his career or reputation – in fact, quite the reverse as he has become the darling of Leftie Hollywood stars and D.C. Politicians. However, the jury awarded excessive punitive damages against Steyn of $1 million. The reason for this was provided in the Plaintiff’s lawyer summing up for the jury: “The jury should award punitive damages so that in future no one will dare engage in ‘climate denialism’ just as Trump’s ‘election denialism’ needs to be suppressed.”
The National Bar Association is now interfering in the Fani Willis-Nathan Wade scandal as it advises a witness not to answer questions pertaining to the alleged improper relationship between Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis and lead prosecutor Nathan Wade.
The advice comes amid an ongoing scandal that threatens to derail a significant election interference case involving former President Donald Trump.
Fulton County Judge Scott McAfee is set to review evidence this morning regarding accusations that Willis engaged in an improper relationship with Wade, potentially compromising the integrity of the case.
These allegations have intensified since The Gateway Pundit reported the possibility that Willis could be disqualified from the RICO case against Trump and several associates over her conduct.
