The recent launch of China’s Fujian aircraft carrier has sparked allegations that China may have stolen plans for the U.S. Navy’s Ford-class carriers. The Fujian’s features, particularly its electromagnetic catapult system, closely resemble those of the Ford-class, leading to suspicions of espionage.

China’s history of acquiring U.S. military technology, such as the J-20 fighter jet modeled after the F-35, bolsters these concerns. The question remains whether China has infiltrated the U.S. Navy’s secrets to such an extent that they could replicate key aspects of the Ford-class carriers. Analysts are scrutinizing the technological similarities and the timing of China’s advancements.

While the Fujian is an impressive step for China, it falls short of the Ford-class in critical areas. The Ford-class carriers are larger, with a displacement of 100,000 tons compared to the Fujian’s 80,000 tons, allowing them to carry more aircraft and sustain longer operations. Additionally, the Ford-class is nuclear-powered, giving it greater endurance and operational flexibility.

The list of protesting individuals and organizations signed up to take part in a parade or speaker platform during next week’s Republican National Convention includes the “Chinese Communist Party” and “Former President, Donald J. Trump” — as the city of Milwaukee approved everyone who applied, without vetting or checking identities.

Trump’s contact person is listed as “Joe Biden,” and the CCP’s address is “Beijing, China.”

The CCP would like to be in both a parade and a speaker platform every day of the convention in the early afternoon if the entry is to be believed.

Registrants had to indicate their full name, whether they were signing up as an individual or group, their address and contact person and, if they wanted to take part in the parade and/or speaker platform, their preferred days and times to speak.

They also had to list whether they’d been convicted of a felony in the past seven years, agree to abide by demonstration regulations and affirm the truth of their statements.

According to an anonymous Democratic lawmaker, a coalition of powerful Democrats dubbed “super friends” are “assembling” in an effort to convince embattled President Joe Biden to end his struggling reelection bid.

A House Democrat described the alleged group to POLITICO this week.

“There’s a group of people who are going to go make their case to whomever they can get to at the White House that [Biden] needs to step aside and we’re going to get our asses kicked if he doesn’t,” the member of Congress said.

Via Energy Security and Freedom,

The Big Green Grift, the Energiewende and all the other green energy scams are about to be slowly shuttled aside because we need massive amounts of new energy these schemes cannot deliver. Moreover, we can no longer afford the virtue signaling, power seeking and money grabbing nonsense these ventures involve. Indeed, there's a big wreck about to happen at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence Boulevard and Net Zero Avenue. Future AI data center demand Is forcing energy discussions to suddenly get very real.

Google, of course, is already facing the fact the two streets it’s simultaneously traveling are not parallel roads, but, rather, two routes that intersect and the company will be forced to stop and decide which direction it wants to go. Net Zero Avenue, taken to the end of the highway leads the end of Google’s AI dreams, while Artificial Intelligence Boulevard promises huge rewards

Authored by Michael Tracey,

“Dangerous, diabolical, and dastardly” is how Hakeem Jeffries, the House Democratic Leader, just described the so-called “Project 2025” planning document that all liberals have now been commanded to light their hair on fire about and run around in circles screeching how it portends some imminent apocalyptic MAGA takeover.

First off, it’s the least surprising thing in the world that the preeminent DC think tank of the “Conservative Movement” would merge itself to the maximum extent possible with the branding and sensibility of Donald Trump, the current undisputed ruler of the “Conservative Movement,” such as it exists. What would be far more surprising is if the Heritage Foundation, which drafted the document now being wailed about by every Democratic pundit, had not maximally ingratiated itself with Trump — in fact, the Trump Administration’s embrace of the Heritage Foundation was already well underway during his first term. But now liberals, desperate for a campaign pivot amidst Joe Biden’s cognitive implosion, are using their usual overwrought melodrama to hype “Project 2025” as slam-dunk proof that Trump obviously represents an Existential Threat To American Democracy™ or whatever. What they curiously fail to mention is that the document is robustly aligned with many of the liberals’ most sacrosanct priorities.

NATO leaders, including U.S. President Joe Biden, convened in Washington with key Asia-Pacific partners and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to address escalating concerns about China’s support for Russia in their war with Ukraine. NATO’s recent declaration of China as a “decisive enabler” of Russia’s war has sparked significant tension, with Beijing accusing the alliance of seeking security at the expense of others.

During the summit, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg welcomed South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol and emphasized the global implications of security challenges.

Stoltenberg noted that the ongoing conflict in Ukraine highlights the necessity for NATO allies to collaborate more closely to maintain peace and stability.

Also, American President Joe Biden is mounting even more pressure on Israel to end its war in Gaza. Will Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu adhere to his demands?

As yesterday marks World Population Day, we’re taking a closer at one of the population trends that will affect many countries sooner or later in the 21st century: population decline. Especially prevalent across Europe and developed Asia, Statista's Felix Richter reports this demographic trend is a consequence of declining birth rates and ageing populations and poses significant challenges to the countries affected.

Infographic: Tipping Point: When Populations Peak | Statista

You will find more infographics at Statista

In countries like Japan and Italy, where population decline has begun in 2011 and 2015, respectively, fertility rates have long fallen below the replacement level of 2.1 percent, influenced by factors such as higher education and career opportunities for women, shifts in societal norms regarding family and childbearing and an ageing overall population

Authored by Pepe Escobar,

We are the world. We are the people. We are NATO. And we’re comin’ to get ya – wherever you are, whether you want it or not.

Call it the latest pop iteration of the “rules-based international order” – duly christened at NATO’s 75th birthday in D.C.

Well, the Global Majority had already been warned – but brains under techno-feudalism tend to be reduced to mush.

So a gentle reminder is in order. This had already been stated in the first paragraph of the Joint Declaration on EU-NATO Cooperation, issued on January 9, 2023:

“We will further mobilize the combined set of instruments at our disposal, be they political, economic, or military, (italics mine) to pursue our common objectives to the benefit of our one billion citizens.”

Correction: barely one million, part of the 0.1% plutocracy. Certainly not one billion.

Cut to the 2024 NATO Summit Declaration – obviously redacted, with stellar mediocrity, by the Americans, with the other 31 assorted vassal members duly assenting.

So here’s the main 2024 NATO “strategic” trifecta:

  1. Extra tens of billions of dollars in “assistance” to the upcoming rump Ukraine; the overwhelming majority of these funds will be slushing around the industrial-military money laundering complex.
  2. Forceful imposition of extra military spending on all members.
  3. Massive hyping up of the “China threat”.

As for the theme song of the NATO 75 show, there are actually two. Apart from “China Threat” (closing credits), the other one (opening credits) is “Free Ukraine”. The lyrics go something like this: it looks like we are at war against Russia in Ukraine, but don’t be fooled: NATO is not a participant in the war.

President Joe Biden couldn't avoid another embarrassing gaffe at his rally in Michigan Friday night.

The 81-year-old commander-in-chief insists he plans to stay in the race despite a disastrous debate performance just over two weeks ago raised questions over his fitness to serve a second term.

However, after confusing former President Trump with Vice President Harris and mixing up presidents Zelensky and Putin all in one Thursday, he made a troubling error again tonight, all while he was trying to reassure supporters of his health.

'I promise you, I am – I'm OK,' he said, before thanking a member of Congress he called 'Debbie Haley.'

He was referring to five-term Michigan Congresswoman Debbie Dingell but possibly confused her with former presidential candidate and South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley.

You might recall the 1980 Surprise. Reagan running against Carter.

The Reagan team was accused of making a deal with the government of Iran to hold on to American hostages until after the election.

Because, if Jimmy Carter could secure their release just before Election Day, he could be swept back into office on a tide of enthusiasm.

The hostages were released, just after Reagan was inaugurated.

Now, in 2024, there are strong possibilities for another Surprise. The Biden administration tells Zelensky to agree to peace negotiations with Putin—

Including a temporary cease fire in the war.

Or: there’s a temporary halt to the Israel-Hamas war.

Or both.

Claire's Observations:  This is how "Bare Knuckles politics" is practiced in this country; threats of physical harm when people "get out of line" regarding specific agendas and outcomes wanted by the elites who run this country, and profit from these agendas, are infinitely more common than they would like us to think.

And then, there are the assassinations, when people become "a live liability" to those in power;  when Malcolm X made the observation that "Assassinations are as American as Apple Pie", it became a prophetic moment as soon after that, he was assassinated. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assassination_of_Malcolm_X

The Democratic Party strategy to re-elect Joe Biden as U.S. President was simple and stark: Donald Trump is a threat to democracy, so it is the constitutional duty of all patriotic Americans to stop him ever returning to the White House. Vote for Joe!

Given Trump's behaviour on January 6, 2021, when he did nothing — until it was almost too late — to dissuade a vast mob of his supporters from storming Capitol Hill to overturn the 2020 presidential election, it was a legitimate strategy with traction among voters. The polls showed it. America's overwhelmingly pro-Democratic media pushed it.

And it has been smashed to smithereens by the very people who devised it.

We now know that those closest to President Biden in the White House and at the top of the Democratic National Committee (which is controlled by the White House) have been lying to the American people for months, nay years, about Biden's fitness to run for a second term.

Polls are already asking voters whether they would support Hillary Clinton as president. Even international news outlets are posting this information. When did Hillary suddenly enter the race?

Democratic firm Bendixen & Amandi conducted a poll to see how the public would respond to a Clinton presidency. Of the 86% of respondents who watched the disastrous Trump-Biden debate, only 29% believe Biden is mentally fit to serve a second term. I suppose the state of the world was not enough to sway voters until they saw him on stage. Still, 33% of them believe Biden should still be the nominee, while 52% want him to step down to make room for a new candidate.

A US-led coalition’s MQ-9 Reaper drone dangerously approached a Russian fighter jet in Syria’s Homs governorate, Oleg Ignasyuk, deputy chief of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Opposing Parties in Syria (a division of the Russian defense ministry), said on Monday.

"A coalition’s MQ-9 Reaper reconnaissance combat unmanned aerial vehicle dangerously approached a Su-35 plane of the Russian aerospace forces making a planned flight over Syria. The incident took place near the settlement of al-Sukhne in the Homs governorate," he said, adding that the Russian pilot demonstrated high professionalism and took timely measures to prevent a collision.

He also said that a pair of the coalition’s F-15, a pair of Rafale and two pairs of Typhoon fighter jets, as well as two pairs of A-10 Thunderbolt attack bombers violated Syria’s airspace in the al-Tanf area, across which international air routes run, twelve times during the day.

Russia knows nothing about former US President Donald Trump's "peace plan" regarding Ukraine, but Moscow does pay very close attention to all his public statements, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said on Friday.

"No, we know nothing about it," Ryabkov said on air of Russia’s Channel One television broadcaster in response to a question about Trump’s "peace plan" on Ukraine.

"I think it would be fair to say that any signals that we receive in the public space from the ex-president of the United States, we follow very closely," Ryabkov added.

According to the high-ranking diplomat, Russia is constantly "monitoring contacts established by foreign leaders while they are in the United States."

He reiterated that Germany would provide weapons to Ukraine in a way to avoid a direct confrontation with Russia. "We are clear about decisions made within NATO: there won’t be a decision, weapons supplies or options for the use of weapons that could turn Russia’s war against Ukraine into Russia’s war against NATO, but it’s also clear that the decisions we make here are always aimed at ensuring the security of our country and the alliance [NATO]," the German chancellor pointed out.

The Russian military launched 39 group strikes against targets in Ukraine over the past week, the Ministry of Defense announced on July 12.

“From 6 to 12 July 2024, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation carried out 39 group strikes with high-precision air- and ground-based weapons as well as strike drones, which hit AFU [Armed Forces of Ukraine] air bases, enterprises of the Ukrainian military-industrial complex and energy facilities that supported their work, assembly facilities for military equipment as well as storage areas for uncrewed surface vehicles and strike UAVs [unmanned aerial vehicles,” the ministry said in its weekly briefing.

The group strikes achieved their set goals, the ministry added, confirming that “all the assigned targets have been engaged.”

Also in the briefing, the ministry provided a summary of Russian military actions in different directions within the special military operation past week.

The ministry said that the Sever Group of Forces improved the situation along the front line and launched strikes against four AFU formations, one marine and three territorial defense brigades. In addition, the group repelled 26 Ukrainian NATO Reinforces Its War Plans During Washington Summit

The West is hastily looking for new air defense systems to send to Ukraine, while the Russian military continues devastating strikes throughout the country.

The White House announced the allocation of another military aid package in the amount of $225 million. This is officially the 61st tranche sent to Kiev by the Americans since August 2021. Kiev has referred to it as being “very powerful” and timely.

The new package included another Patriot system and ammunition for other US-made weapon systems in service with the Ukrainian military, as well as artillery shells and various weapons.

Every expensive Patriot supplied from NATO is very precious to the Ukrainian military, despite the fact that these air defense systems did not become a game changer and are quickly destroyed by Russian missiles.

The reinforcement of the Ukrainian air defenses is a headache for NATO warmongers, who are willing to supply their aircraft to the war-torn country. So far, all that the numerous NATO air defense systems that have been provided, have proven is their low efficiency.

Russia has urged the UN not to support Ukraine’s claims to the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant, the largest such facility in Europe, accusing Kiev of launching strikes that frequently jeopardize the safety of the plant.

Speaking at a UN General Assembly meeting on Thursday, Russia’s deputy representative to the organization, Dmitry Polyansky, displayed a Ukrainian drone that allegedly hit the plant earlier this year. He said that attacks on the station by Kiev’s forces are “regular and numerous.”

“The IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi formulated [principles] for ensuring safety at the Zaporozhye NPP,” Polyansky said, referring to the UN’s nuclear watchdog, the International Atomic Energy Agency.

“One of these principles – the prohibition of attacks on the plant – is regularly violated by Ukraine, as the agency experts at the [site] have the opportunity to verify. There is enough evidence of this – I have in my hands the wreckage of a Ukrainian UAV that attacked the Zaporozhye NPP on April 7,” the Russian diplomat stated.

US President Joe Biden has once again insulted his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, labeling him a “murderous madman.”

Speaking at a press briefing in Washington on Thursday, Biden hailed NATO as a bloc that made the world safer due to its collective defense clause, based on the principle “if they attack one of us they attack all of us.” He stated that those who did not believe in this got a “rude awakening” when Russia launched its military operation in Ukraine in February 2022.

“When Putin invaded Ukraine, some of the oldest and deepest fears in Europe roared back to life because once again a murderous madman was on the march,” Biden stated.

It’s not the first time that Biden has disparaged Putin in public speeches. At a campaign event in March, the US president called the Russian leader “a butcher,” again in connection with the Ukraine conflict. In February, Biden branded Putin a “crazy S.O.B.” At the time, Peskov said Americans should be ashamed of a leader who used such language.

While the United States government attempts to lecture the world about its supposed “rules based order,” it‘s aiding, arming and providing diplomatic cover for Israel’s unprecedented assault on Gaza’s already collapsed healthcare system. In fact, Israel’s attacks, justified by Washington in some cases, have resulted in the territory being left without a single functional hospital.

It was only two months into the war in Gaza that no functional hospital was left standing in the north of the territory. One month later, there were only seven out of 12 hospitals in southern Gaza that remained partially functional. Today, there is not a single functioning hospital in the entirety of Gaza, with some medics still trying to use the facilities that haven’t been destroyed by bombardment for shelter in which to treat patients with limited supplies, often to no avail.
