"I confidently trust that the American people will prove themselves ... too wise not to detect the false pride or the dangerous ambitions or the selfish schemes which so often hide themselves under that deceptive cry of mock patriotism: 'Our country, right or wrong!' They will not fail to recognize that our dignity, our free institutions and the peace and welfare of this and coming generations of Americans will be secure only as we cling to the watchword of true patriotism: 'Our country - when right to be kept right; when wrong to be put right.'" -- Carl Schurz

Texas housing inventory jumps 40%, but prices stay flat "They say everything is bigger in Texas — and apparently that includes housing inventory growth. While available homes for sale are growing all over the country, it’s happening at a dramatic scale in Texas. According to a second-quarter 2024 report from Texas Realtors, the number of active listings from April to June of this year were up 40.8% compared to the same period last year.

The Heritage Foundation’s Oversight Project just released mobile ad data analysis that shows someone who regularly visited Trump’s would-be assassin Thomas Crooks’ home and work also visited a building in Washington D.C. near an FBI office.

“We found the assassin’s connections through our in-depth analysis of mobile ad data to track movements of Crooks and his associates,” said Oversight Project in an X thread Monday. “To do this, we tracked devices that regularly visited both Crooks’ home and place of work and followed them.”

The Oversight Project found that “Someone who regularly visited Crooks’ home and work also visited a building in Washington, DC located in Gallery Place.”

“This is in the same vicinity of an @FBI office on June 26, 2023,” said the investigative body. “Who’s device is this?”

US President Joe Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will meet in Washington despite a series of diplomatic spats between the leaders since Israel's war on Gaza began last October.

The two are slated to meet at the White House on Monday.

The stress shows on the face of Samiha Ismail who since October 7 has been stuck in her home in an occupied West Bank village that lives in constant fear of attack by Israeli settlers.

The day after the Hamas raid into southern Israel, settlers entered Susya, a hilltop village in the south of the West Bank, vowing retribution and "humiliation", the 53-year-old Palestinian recalled.

More than nine months on, Ismail is among 450 inhabitants who spend most of the day indoors. Even their sheep are not allowed out of their sheds.

"Every time we take them to pasture, the settlers chase us," the panicked Ismail told AFP.

The Israeli military's chief of staff demanded on Thursday that his country go ahead with a deal with Hamas that would guarantee the release of Israeli captives, according to two sources.

Herzi Halevi's move during a security discussion prompted Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to end the session, the sources cited by Israeli news website Walla reported.

Discussions started at 11pm local time (8pm GMT), with Defence Minister Yoav Gallant, the heads of the Mossad and Shin Bet intelligence agencies, and other senior security officials also in attendance.

It comes as a Gaza ceasefire deal has still yet to be reached after more than nine months of an Israeli war that has killed at least 38,919 people in the Palestinian enclave, according to its health ministry.

Vice President Kamala Harris has emerged as the front-runner for the Democratic presidential nomination after Joe Biden dropped out of the race this past weekend and immediately endorsed her.

Harris has been a staunch supporter of Israel for years. In 2017 she addressed the American Israel Public Affairs Committee’s (AIPAC) annual conference and reminded attendees that the first resolution she co-sponsored as a senator was aimed at combating “anti-Israel bias” at the United Nations.

“Let me be clear about what I believe. I stand with Israel because of our shared values, which are so fundamental to the founding of both our nations,” she told the crowd.

There needs to be an investigation into a possible conspiracy among American political circles and the media to manipulate the public’s perceptions regarding President Joe Biden’s health, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has said.

Biden announced on X (formerly Twitter) that he would not seek re-election in November, less than a month before the Democratic National Convention was scheduled to start in Chicago.

Commenting on his announcement in an interview with Russian media, Zakharova noted that it was highly unusual to have just a screenshot of a letter posted on social media rather than a video or audio statement.

“In the modern world, filled with post-truth and deep fakes, it’s very important to leave no room for speculation,” Zakharova said.

More details about the bungled security setup at Donald Trump’s recent rally in Butler, Penn., have emerged to suggest that Secret Service stood down and did nothing after being notified that there was an individual with a weapon perched atop the American Glass Research facility just 150 years away from where Trump was speaking.

“KanekoaTheGreat” (@KanekoaTheGreat) tweeted on X that the police officer who confronted shooter Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, on the roof immediately radioed a “blanket tactical channel” that there was “an individual on the roof with a weapon.” This all happened minutes before Crooks started firing shots at Trump.

The notification to the blanket tactical channel should have alerted everyone on site, including both local law enforcement and Secret Service, that something suspicious was happening, so why did nobody respond by at least getting Trump out of harm’s way?

Typical dogmatic, uninformed leftist. As noted no state bars ending an ectopic pregnancy and standard abortion procedures to resolve an ectopic pregnancy are not just generally ineffective but can cause great harm. Worth noting the FDA states that the vaunted abortion drug, mifepristone should not be used for ectopic pregnancy and has warned sepsis can occur as a result of medical abortions with mifepristone. But hey, he got applause from his like minded and equally uninformed audience and that's all that counts in that world.

According to a recent report, interest payments on the U.S. national debt are projected to reach $1.14 trillion this year, which would consume approximately 76% of all personal income taxes collected. This significant increase in interest payments is attributed to rising interest rates and the growing national debt.

According to the latest polling, a clear majority of Americans want to see immigration levels reduced, not increased.

Axios reports that the latest poll from Gallup shows that 55% of American adults want legal immigration lowered. This marks the highest percentage of Americans in favor of this immigration stance since 58% said so back in 2001. Last June, that number was down to just 41%.

On September 12, 2002, Benjamin Netanyahu — then a private citizen — was invited to Congress to give “an Israeli perspective” in support of a U.S. invasion of Iraq. Netanyahu issued a confident prediction: “if you take out Saddam, Saddam’s regime, I guarantee you that it will have enormous positive reverberations on the region,” adding, “and I think that people sitting right next door in Iran, young people, and many others, will say the time of such regimes, of such despots is gone.”

In 2015, Netanyahu returned to Congress — this time as Israel’s prime minister — to undermine the Iran nuclear deal (JCPOA) negotiations led by the Obama administration along with key U.S. allies the United Kingdom, Germany, and France. After a tepid acknowledgement of President Obama’s support for Israel — Obama ultimately gave Israel $38 billion, the largest military aid package in history — Netanyahu spent the remainder of his speech attacking what would become one of the sitting president’s signature foreign policy achievements.

In both cases, Netanyahu’s advice was catastrophically wrong. America’s invasion of Iraq was a bloody disaster that killed hundreds of thousands and displaced millions more, creating massive instability in the region and paving the way for ISIS’s rise.

Meanwhile, Obama’s deal with Iran had succeeded in rolling Iran’s nuclear program back and blocking its pathways to a bomb — that is until the Trump administration followed Netanyahu’s advice and backed out of the deal in 2018, thus forfeiting our capability to contain Iran’s nuclear program while torpedoing prospects for productive engagement with Tehran on reducing regional tensions.

Now that President Joe Biden has made the unprecedented decision to end his reelection campaign and endorse Vice President Kamala Harris for president, we need to ask: what will be her foreign policy if she wins in November?

It is safe to assume that there will be broad continuity with the Biden administration’s overall approach to the world, but there is some evidence that Harris might guide U.S. foreign policy in a somewhat less destructive direction than where it has been going under Biden.

First off, Harris did not run for president in 2020 on foreign policy and has relatively little foreign policy experience from her short time in the Senate and her tenure as vice president. While she has cast a number of tie-breaking votes in favor of Biden’s domestic agenda in the Senate, she has played a smaller role in foreign policy by representing the U.S. at international meetings that the president has been unable to attend. She was tasked by Biden to focus on the “root causes” in Latin America leading to the undocumented migrant issue at the nation’s southern border, drawing mixed reviews at best.

Before I even start with my analysis, I want to make the point that I hope President Biden is doing fine and on the path to recovery from Covid, as his doctor claimed in a letter (I’ll discuss below) that he was. I hope we can take the administration at their word, but I also think it’s helpful to not ignore mounting critical questions for our country.

I don’t want to start the morning off with hyperbole or sensationalism, honestly, but rather with what, in my opinon, has developed as a legitimate question over the last 24 to 48 hours: is the current President of the United States still alive and/or fit to lead?

Ever since dropping out of the presidential race on Sunday via a letter with a signature that has been in question and conspicuously lacking the seal of the White House or President of the United States, President Joe Biden has failed to turn up anywhere in person.

President Joe Biden’s decision to withdraw as the Democratic Party’s nominee solved an immediate problem for his party. Biden has plummeted in the polls as the vast majority of voters concluded that he is too diminished by age to serve another term. Yet, it has now created several new problems, including the obvious problem of a president who is viewed as incapable of running for an office that he continues to hold.

The Democratic Party essentially created its own political version of the 25th Amendment in forcing Biden off the ticket. This decision was about as voluntary as leaving a building by way of a window on the 46th floor. That is particularly the case when you are thrown out of the window by your closest friends.

The unseemly image of succession by defenestration will soon be whitewashed by a media that will praise Biden after weeks of declaring him incompetent and enfeebled.

Pastor Robert Jeffress, leader of the historic First Baptist Church in Dallas, said former President Donald Trump reached out after the church's historic sanctuary burned down.

On Friday shortly after 6 p.m., Dallas Fire and Rescue received a call about a fire at the church's historic sanctuary, which had been in use since the 1890s. The fire eventually grew to a four-alarm blaze that took more than three hours to extinguish. Fortunately, no one was injured or killed in the fire.

'If the SBC had a Notre Dame it would be FBC Dallas. This is heartbreaking.'

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, and the investigation into the cause — which includes the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives — is ongoing.

But Pastor Jeffress, who is an ardent Trump supporter, told local media that he doesn't believe his support for the former president is behind the fire.

More importantly, he said Trump is offering his support in the wake of the devastating fire.

"I don't believe my support for President Trump has anything to do with this fire," Jeffress told KTVT-TV. "I did receive a nice note from the president, who has spoken here before at our church. He offered his help to do anything he could."

A cell phone associated with the home and work addresses of would-be assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks visited the Gallery Place building in Washington, D.C., that houses a mall and offices of the FBI, the Heritage Oversight Project reported July 22.

The Oversight Project, part of the Heritage Foundation, began a geo-location investigation hours after the July 13 attempted assassination of former President Donald J. Trump at a fairground in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Crooks, 20, was killed by a Secret Service counter-sniper after opening fire on Trump and the crowd just after 6:11 p.m. ET. Only a perfectly timed turn of his head kept Trump from being killed instantly by a rifle round fired from about 130 yards away, experts said.

Attorney John Morgan, a major Biden donor, issued the Democratic Party a warning on Sunday after the party began coalescing around Vice President Kamala Harris as the favorite for the Democratic Party's presidential nomination.

After President Joe Biden announced Sunday that he is not going to seek re-election, Morgan told ABC News that he will stop fundraising for Democrats if Harris is their presidential nominee.

His reason is simple: Morgan believes running Harris is a fool's errand because she is too far-left to win a general election.

More than anything else, the elite want a president that is easy to control.  That is why they love Joe Biden and that is why they hate Donald Trump.  It all comes down to control.  No matter what happens, the elite want to feel confident that whoever is in the White House is going to be a team player.  So the elite are really excited about the possibility that Kamala Harris could become the next president of the United States.  Whenever she makes a public appearance, it is clear that she is in way, way over her head, and if she actually makes it into the Oval Office she will be exceedingly easy to manipulate.
