President Joe Biden is taking heat from Republicans for easing sanctions on Iran – including giving the terrorist-sponsoring nation access to billions of dollars in previously frozen assets – before it launched a massive drone attack on U.S. ally Israel.

Iran fired more than 300 drone and other missiles into Israel during the early morning hours Sunday (Israel time) in response to Israel’s strike on the Iranian consulate in Syria on April 1. Israel said 99% of the missiles were intercepted and damage from the attack was limited, with no fatalities, but the escalation is drawing wider concern of a potentially heightened conflict in the Middle East.

Republican members of Congress in part blamed the Biden administration's easing of sanctions against Iran for the attack.

"Iran has encircled Israel and has been attacking our Israeli allies from almost every front for months," U.S. Sen Ted Cruz, R-Texas, said in a statement. "They have launched attacks from Syria, Iraq, Yemen, the West Bank, Hezbollah-controlled Lebanon, and of course the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip. Now they have escalated by launching attacks directly from Iranian territory."

I guess eating ze bugs isn’t so healthy after all, eh Klaus? Reports online say that WEF Nazi Klaus Schwab has been hospitalized and is seriously ill. There are even some reports that he may have died, but not enough reports to confirm.

Webmaster addition: There are lots of rumors, but as yet no hard confirmation.

Johnson said, “I spent hours with the president on Friday. He and I talk frequently, many times, usually, in a week. We have a long relationship. He’s 100 percent with me. And he said, ‘We’ll get this job done.’ That’s a distraction. What Marjorie is done with a motion to vacate is not helpful for our party, for our mission to save the country. Because if we don’t grow the House majority, keep the House majority, win the Senate, and win back the White House for President Trump, we are going to lose the Republic.”

The U.S. and U.K. will begin restricting the trade of new Russian-origin metals – including aluminum, copper and nickel – on global metal exchanges and in derivatives trading.

The announcement is meant to follow up on the Group of Seven nations’ commitment in February “to reduce Russia’s revenues from metals” as its invasion into Ukraine has dragged on for more than two years.

Russia is a key exporter of metals like aluminum, steel and titanium – but British and American officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to preview the announcement, said the economic impact from the ban would be negligible for consumers and producers.

Vatican prosecutor  has filed charges against an Italian Catholic journalist, accusing him of “defamation” of Pope Francis as well as divulging confidential documents.

Marco Felipe Perfetti, a conservative Catholic who writes the blog Silere Non Possum (“I cannot be silent”), has called the charges against him an attempt at “intimidation.”

“It is no secret that within the Vatican City State there is no protection of freedom of the press and the activity of Silere non possum has annoyed and continues to annoy those who have always acted to the detriment of this State and for their own personal interests,” the editors of the site wrote this week.

The site of the news outlet alleges that the Vatican initiated criminal proceedings against Marco Felipe Perfetti by communicating the charges to the press rather than to the interested party.

According to IWN assessments and based on the latest news stories and information obtained from the missile and drone operations of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) under the name of ‘Operation True Promise’ against the Israeli regime, the following targets have definitely been targeted:

  • The Nevatim Airbase in southern occupied Palestine;
  • The Ramon Airbase in southern occupied Palestine;
  • An intelligence and espionage base of the Israeli regime in Jabal al-Sheikh (Mount Hermon) in the northern occupied Golan Heights.

It should be noted that the rest of the explosions or hits in other areas of the occupied territories are related to the confrontation of the Israeli air defense systems with the projectiles in the sky or the falling of the wreckage of the interceptor missiles or the wreckage of Iranian missiles.

There are several very important points about last night’s retaliatory attacks that need to be paid attention to: According to Western sources’ claims, Iran fired 185 drones, 110 ballistic missiles, and 110 cruise missiles towards the occupied territories in the attacks last night, and it is claimed that most of these missiles and drones have been intercepted; but the ground reality is different!

Tensions between the US and China have grown as the US has been more aggressive asserting itself in the South China Sea, started military alliances with Australia and Japan and placed US troops on small Taiwanese islands within eyesight of the Chinese mainland.

After it failed in Ukraine, the collective West better “think twice” before provoking a conflict with China, military veteran, author and international geopolitical consultant Dr. David Oualaalou told Sputnik’s The Critical Hour on Wednesday.

While speaking about NATO plans to open an office in Japan, Oualaalou said that it “doesn’t make any sense” to put an office for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization in the Pacific unless “this is where the next conflict will be.”

The German chancellor arrived in China on a three-day visit on Sunday flanked by a large delegation of German business representatives. Besides a stopover in the financial hub of Shanghai, he is set to travel to Beijing to meet with Chinese leader Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz will attempt to use his trip to China to drive a wedge between Beijing and Moscow — but has little chance of achieving success, noted Russian senator Alexey Pushkov.

“Scholz is in Beijing. He will take another shot at trying to alienate China from Russia, which presumably will end in the same way as previous attempts made by [Emmanuel] Macron, [Ursula] von der Leyen and [Janet] Yellen," Pushkov posted on his Telegram channel. "Unlike Russia, the West is potentially hostile to China. No amount of negotiations will change this.”

A pledge by Berlin to augment Kiev’s air defense capabilities follows a familiar pattern of Western countries eventually conceding to Ukrainian requests for armaments after publicly agonizing over the threat of escalation with Moscow.

Germany offered to provide Kiev with another US Patriot air defense system Saturday as Ukraine’s military chief admitted the country’s position on its eastern front is rapidly deteriorating.

“The situation on the eastern front has significantly worsened in recent days,” said Ukraine armed forces commander-in-chief Oleksandr Syrsky, confirming recent media reports. Syrsky made the assessment in a post on Telegram after a visit to a part of territory of the Donetsk People's Republic under Ukrainian control, which is now a Russian territory.

UK special services supervised most of the sabotage attacks against the Russian Black Sea Fleet and Crimea, a Federal Security Service officer said in a video released by the agency.

"Since the beginning of the special military operation, the Federal Security Service regularly receives information about the participation of Western special services, primarily from Britain, in the training of Ukrainian special forces. We have established the supervisory role of UK special forces in the overwhelming majority of terrorist and sabotage attacks against Russian Black Sea Fleet ships and the Crimean Peninsula," he said.

According to the officer, in addition to training saboteurs, UK representatives supply Ukrainian forces with intelligence gathering equipment, new types of explosives, including prototypes, using Ukraine as a testing ground and military personnel as expendable material for testing new weapons that are in development and tactics of their use.

Austrian Energy Minister Leonor Gewessler has revealed a plan to eliminate the country’s energy reliance on Moscow in less than half a decade, the Kurier newspaper reported on Friday, citing the draft legislation.

The sanctions imposed by the EU on Russia due to the Ukraine conflict do not target gas imports. Nevertheless, Russian supplies to the bloc have dropped sharply due to the restrictions and the September 2022 sabotage of the Nord Stream pipelines.

In response to a request by the Austria Press Agency, the country’s energy ministry confirmed details about the bill, which would need the approval of Austria’s ruling party and at least a two-thirds vote of support in Parliament to pass.

Israel's response to Iran’s recent drone strikes could prove reckless and escalatory, officials in Washington have told NBC news on condition of anonymity, the outlet reported on Sunday.

Iran launched several waves of drone and missile attacks against Israel on Saturday and Sunday, in response to an airstrike that damaged Iran’s embassy in Damascus, Syria and killed seven military personnel – including two generals – earlier this month. While Israel has refrained from commenting on the bombing, Tehran has accused West Jerusalem of conducting an extraterritorial assassination and attacking their embassy.

Some US officials privately indicated exasperation with Israel’s decision to strike the Iranian consular building in Syria, NBC claimed, citing senior Pentagon officials as calling the strike potentially “catastrophically escalatory.”

Hospitalized COVID-19 patients who took spirulina had a lower risk of death than those who did not, according to results of a randomized controlled trial recently published in Frontiers in Immunology.

(MarcinWojc/Shutterstock)

Study participants took spirulina for six days. No deaths were recorded in the spirulina group, while 15 percent of those who only received standard treatment died.

“The overall results of the present study showed that a six-day course of Spirulina platensis plus the standard treatment of COVID-19 was superior in the recovery of patients compared to standard treatment alone,” the authors wrote.

The study was conducted at two Iranian hospitals, where 189 patients were randomized to take 15.2 grams of spirulina capsules alongside standard COVID-19 treatment or only receive standard treatment. Previous research showed that this dosage of spirulina would provide potent anti-inflammatory and oxidative effects.

In both the experimental and control groups, half of the patients were in the intensive care unit (ICU), while the other half were in a non-ICU.

Ninety-one participants were assigned to take spirulina. Some withdrew, but there were no deaths. There were 98 people in the control group, 46 of whom were in the non-ICU. Four of these died, alongside 11 ICU patients. All patients received follow-up for seven days.

The authors noticed that the spirulina group had significant reductions in inflammatory markers in their blood and higher oxygen levels.

Both groups received standard treatment, which included antiviral therapy (remdesivir), corticosteroids (dexamethasone), and anticoagulants (heparin or enoxaparin). Patients who rapidly developed inflammatory disease were also given tocilizumab or other steroids to control inflammation.

What Is Spirulina?

Spirulina, or Arthrospira platensis, is a nutrient-dense type of dried-up blue-green algae that can grow in both fresh and marine water environments.

It doesn’t surprise me that there are benefits from adding this to the diet and regimen of those in hospital,” Dr. Yusuf Saleeby, an integrative medicine doctor and director of Carolina Holistic Medicine not involved in the study, told The Epoch Times.

Spirulina is rich in beta carotene, B-complex vitamins, vitamin E, and minerals such as manganese, copper, zinc, and selenium. “All these are important in maintaining health and a healthy immune system,” he said. It also contains an essential fatty acid called gamma-linolenic acid.

Dr. Saleeby said that functional and integrative medicine uses spirulina, chlorella, and other relatively simple plant foods “to detoxify patients with chronic diseases, toxicities, and poisoning.” Spirulina is found to absorb heavy metals from the body.

Dr. Elias Mazkopakis, director of internal medicine at the Naval Hospital of Crete in Greece, was the first to conduct a worldwide clinical trial on spirulina use in COVID-19.

In his trial, 102 unvaccinated individuals were assigned to take 6 grams of spirulina for six months, while 84 participants in the control group took nothing.

Among those who took spirulina, less than 14 percent contracted COVID-19—caused by the Delta variant at the time of the study—and had only mild symptoms. Two needed hospitalization due to gut problems. In the other group, about 74 percent contracted COVID-19 and experienced mild symptoms, with one-fifth of them requiring hospitalization.

The Israeli army confirmed that one of its bases was damaged in the Iranian drone and missile attack on Israel on 14 April.

“Some damage has been recorded, including at a military base in the south of the country,” Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari said, adding that minor damage was inflicted on the base and that one girl in the Negev region was injured by shrapnel.

Iranian media confirmed Tehran’s ballistic missile attack on Israel’s Nevatim air base in the southern Negev desert. The ballistic missiles were launched by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Aerospace Force, in coordination with other units of Iran’s army.
