Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to launch a “powerful” attack on Rafah, declaring that the Hamas Movement Hamas, which rules the Gaza Strip, must be eliminated from the city.

Rafah is Gaza’s southernmost city and the main crossing point into Egypt where humanitarian aid has been allowed to enter the Strip. Some 1.4 million Palestinians are taking shelter in the city, which came under intense bombardment in recent days.

“We will fight until complete victory and this includes a powerful action also in Rafah after we allow the civilian population to leave the battle zones,” Netanyahu said on social media on February 14.

President Macron told Netanyahu over the phone on the same day that the human cost of Israel’s operation in Gaza was “intolerable”. He also expressed “France’s firm opposition to an Israeli offensive in Rafah, which could only lead to a humanitarian disaster of a new magnitude”.

The prime ministers of Australia, Canada and New Zealand also issued a joint statement expressing their “grave concern” that a military operation in Rafah would be “catastrophic”.

After Hamas shocked the key link of the imperialist camp, all the talk about the “invincibility” of the Zionists collapsed again. Hamas has successfully taken over the baton of destroying the occupiers from Hezbollah and is ready to take the Palestinian national struggle to a new level. Now the Palestinians have moved from defense to offensive* and the famous characteristic from the leader of Hezbollah Hassan Nasr-Allah – “Israel is weaker than the web”, has become more than reality. Such a transition was due not only to an assessment of the international political situation (the war in Eastern Europe, increased competition between Democrats and Republicans within the United States, an increasingly obvious confrontation between Washington and Beijing), but also to the process of rotting within the Zionist entity, where conflicts and disagreements on internal issues have not subsided over the past two years. Nevertheless, to a greater extent, the transition to the attacking phase is associated with the strengthening of the role of the ideology of Islamic Resistance among the peoples and the nation of the Ummah, which serves as the main motivation for the growth and development of all the main components of the Islamic community, from religious consciousness to technological progress.

Last June, the leaked contents of a stonewalled FBI document, form FD-1023, alleging that President Joe Biden was paid $5  million by an executive of Ukrainian natural gas firm Burisma Holdings, where his son Hunter sat on the board, and also received an alleged $5 million.

The form, dated June 30, 2020, was from a "highly credible" confidential human source (CHS) who had detailed multiple meetings and conversations they had with a top Burisma executive over the course of several years, beginning in 2015. The CHS had been working with the FBI as a regular, reliable source of information since 2010, and has been paid approximately $200,000 by the bureau.

Now, as the 2024 election heats up, that source - Alexander Smirnov, 43, has been arrested and charged with lying about the bribes by special counsel David Weiss, who is investigating Hunter Biden.

According to the NY Times, "The story Mr. Smirnov told investigators was part of a series of explosive and unsubstantiated claims by Republicans that the Bidens engaged in potentially criminal activity — allegations central to the party’s efforts to impeach the president."

Smirnov faces a two-count indictment for making false statements and obstructing the government's long-running investigation into Hunter Biden. He faces a maximum penalty of 25 years in prison.

Smirnov was arrested in Las Vegas on Wednesday after disembarking from an international flight, and was expected to appear on Thursday before a federal judge.

According to the indictment, Smirnov lied when he said that Hunter Biden promised to protect Burisma "through his dad, from all kinds of problems," and was only in contact with Burisma executives in 2017, after Biden left office.

Smirnov is accused of exaggerating his "routine and unextraordinary business contacts with Burisma" into "bribery allegations" against Joe Biden.

Which raises the question - if Smirnov told the FBI about the alleged bribery in confidence - and had no expectation of a 'leaked' FD-1023 becoming central to Republican investigations, what did he have to gain from lying?

Lawyers, second only to politicians on the moral degeneracy totem pole, don’t often do good work. But when they do, I celebrate it and wish them Godspeed.

“The Lead attorney for the Plaintiffs is Michael Connett of the Law Firm Waters Kraus and Paul with offices across the country including Dallas, Texas.

Michael Connett says, ‘The court has one question before it, and that is: Does fluoridation present an unreasonable risk of neurodevelopmental effects? … If the court rules that it does, then the EPA will be mandated by law to take action to address that risk.’”

If I wanted to increase antisemitism, I imagine I’d do a lot of really evil stuff under a Star of David flag while adamantly insisting that my actions are inseparable from the Jewish people and the Jewish faith. I’d kill children by the thousands and commit genocidal atrocities.

To really help antisemitism spread I’d do everything I can to make people less vigilant against it. I’d try very hard to make the warning label of antisemitism look ridiculous and meaningless — circulate narratives that people who oppose genocide and ethnic cleansing hate Jews, frame peace marches as hate crimes, brand calls for justice as calls for the genocide of Jewish people. I’d falsely cry wolf as many times as possible in the most self-evidently absurd ways I could think of in order to desensitize everyone to alarm bells about the real spread of anti-Jewish hate.

I’d try to make sure the Jewish soldiers carrying out the atrocities under the Star of David flag make themselves look as inhuman as possible, thereby dehumanizing ordinary Jews in the eyes of the public. They should film themselves doing the most evil things imaginable while laughing and celebrating their deeds, and then share those videos on social media. The more viral content they can create with their horrific acts, the better.

Daleep Singh, a former senior US national security adviser who helped orchestrate Washington’s sanctions against Russia over the Ukraine conflict, is poised to rejoin the White House, American media outlets reported on Thursday.

According to Axios, which first broke the news, Singh’s comeback to the administration of US President Joe Biden, which he left in April 2022, comes as Washington seeks “innovative ways to punish Russia” and help Ukraine.

The former official was instrumental in cutting Moscow off from the SWIFT global financial system and freezing around $300 billion of Russian sovereign assets in the West, Bloomberg reported. Reuters also noted Singh’s role in sanctioning Russian banks, companies, businessmen, and officials.

Australia’s authorities are once again putting pressure on social media, X this time, threatening that the company will face big fines and “big trouble” in general – unless “mis- and dis-” information is censored.

And, it is Australia’s new laws, when they come into force this year, that will represent the legal grounds for such actions.

The fines would run up to $3 million or 2 percent of annual turnover for “voluntary code of conduct” violations, and $7.8 million or 5 percent of annual turnover in case of lack of compliance with the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) “standards.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin said that it is good that the interview with US journalist Tucker Carlson made the West listen to what Russia has to say.

"First of all, it is good that they watch and listen to what I say," Putin told Rossiya 1 reporter Pavel Zarubin, commenting on the negative assessment of his interview.

It is not possible to have a direct dialogue with the West today and Moscow is grateful to Carlson for the mediation, Putin said.

The sad Michael Mann defamation case against Mark Steyn and Rand Simberg ended last week in the even sadder confines of the Washington D.C. Superior Court. The verdict was awful for those believing in free speech and the right to engage in public criticism of public figures like Mann. And, of more concern, subtly continues the bashing of the scientific method that has become a feature of the last 20 years or so.

The trial showed that climate scientist Mann had no damages to his career or reputation – in fact, quite the reverse as he has become the darling of Leftie Hollywood stars and D.C. Politicians. However, the jury awarded excessive punitive damages against Steyn of $1 million. The reason for this was provided in the Plaintiff’s lawyer summing up for the jury: “The jury should award punitive damages so that in future no one will dare engage in ‘climate denialism’ just as Trump’s ‘election denialism’ needs to be suppressed.”
