Thought for the day

"The executive power in our government is not the only, perhaps not even the principal, object of my solicitude. The tyranny of the legislature is really the danger most to be feared, and will continue to be so for many years to come. The tyranny of the executive power will come in its turn, but at a more distant period." -- Thomas Jefferson, Democracy in America

PALESTINIAN JOURNALITS TAKE PART IN A PROTEST AGAINST KILLING OF AL JAZEERA JOURNALIST SHIREEN ABU AKLEH, IN FRONT OF JALA’ TOWER IN GAZA CITY ON JULY 13, 2022. PHOTO BY OMAR ASHTAWY (C) APA IMAGES.

Judge Kenneth Starr met with Patrick Knowlton today at the Sheraton Hotel in Boston shortly before Starr was scheduled to speak at a conference on Religiously Affiliated Law Schools.

Another one bites the dust...

Less than two weeks since Ravil Maganov, the vice president and chair of the board of directors of Russian oil giant Lukoil, died after falling out of a sixth floor hospital window in Moscow, another Russian energy executive has been found dead in mysterious circumstances.

On 6 September 2022, a conference organized by the Anti-Repression Foundation entitled “Information Gestapo: Ukrainian nationalist website Mirotvorets lists are used to suppress free speech and repress journalists” took place in Moscow”.

I participated in this conference with colleagues from several Western countries: Germany, USA, Finland, Netherlands, Canada, England.

This week, a number of international and Russian journalists convened in Moscow – with more joining by video link – to discuss the now-infamous Ukrainian Mirotvorets "kill list." Many of them are included themselves.

While some don't take it seriously, the horrific car-bombing murder of Darya Dugina on August 20 and the subsequent marking on her Mirotvorets entry as “liquidated” makes it fairly clear the people behind the list do, in fact, want people dead.

On Monday the State Department welcomed Israel’s belated admission that its forces killed Palestinian-American journalist Shireen Abu Akleh nearly 4 months ago, and the statement went on that the U.S. must “underscore the importance of accountability in this case, such as policies and procedures to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.”

Nevada Democrat Official Arrested for Allegedly Murdering Reporter MikeRivero Thu, 09/08/2022 - 07:39

An official from the Democrat Party that President Joe Biden has been inciting to violence in a series of venomous speeches was arrested Wednesday near Las Vegas, Nevada, and charged with murdering an investigative journalist.

Allegedly in retaliation for unfavorable media coverage he had received prior to his June primary loss, Clark County Public Administrator Robert Telles is accused of killing Las Vegas Review-Journal reporter Jeff German.

The odious legacy of Stepan Bandera drives the suppression of those who dare challenge the narrative of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict promulgated by the Ukrainian government, its Western allies and a compliant mainstream media.

The Israeli military has finally released the results of its inquiry into the May 11 killing of Palestinian-American journalist Shireen Abu Akleh and it is now admitting that there’s a “high possibility” that the bullet came from an IDF soldier.
