Fulton Country District Attorney Fani Willis is grasping for straws in her case against former President Donald Trump, with her latest motion representing a desperate plea to keep an appeals court from reconsidering a previous decision allowing her to stay on the case.

According to the Huffington Post, attorneys for Trump have requested that a district appeals court reconsider an earlier decision by Judge Scott McAfee allowing Willis to remain in charge of the case if she dismissed Nathan Wade, the prosecutor with whom she carried on a private personal relationship that likely began before he was hired to join the case. The president’s attorneys have pointed to a rambling speech she gave in January as proof that her politicization of the case goes well beyond the nepotism of hiring Wade.

“There is simply no trial court error to be found in the decision to deny disqualification,” Willis wrote in a filing on Monday, adding her speech was “too vague, brief and limited in scope” to warrant disqualification.

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’ office is facing another scandal.

Text messages produced in court demonstrate that while working on a case, an investigator for Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’s office made advances on a witness.

While the RICO trial for Young Slime Life (YSL) against rapper Young Thug (real name Jeffrey Williams) and several co-defendants proceeded on Monday, additional information regarding the actions of an investigator working for Willis’ office surfaced. During Williams’s cross-examination of a female witness known only as A. Bennett, the witness’s lawyer questioned her regarding messages she had received from Hamilton, the county investigator.

A company is recalling hand sanitizer and aloe gel across the United States because it contains a highly poisonous substance that can pose a serious risk for consumers, according to a notice published on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) website.

The recall affects 40 lots of Aruba Aloe Hand Sanitizer Gel Alcohol 80 percent and Aruba Aloe Alcoholada Gel because they contain substantial amounts of methanol, the FDA-backed notice said.

It offered a risk statement saying that “substantial methanol exposure” can lead to a range of serious health issues such as death, coma, seizures, permanent blindness, permanent nervous system damage, blurred vision, vomiting, nausea, and other symptoms.

The owner and manager of a cargo ship that rammed into Baltimore’s Francis Scott Key Bridge before the span collapsed last week filed a court petition Monday seeking to limit their legal liability for the deadly disaster.

The companies’ “limitation of liability” petition is a routine but important procedure for cases litigated under U.S. maritime law. A federal court in Maryland ultimately decides who is responsible—and how much they owe—for what could become one of the costliest catastrophes of its kind.

The main reason I’ve focused so hard on Gaza these last six months isn’t so much because of how evil and horrific Israel’s mass atrocity is in and of itself, but because it’s so intimately intertwined with all our world’s other problems, and with the future of the human species.

In a very real way, the destruction of Gaza appears to be a moment in history where humanity is collectively mulling over whether it wants to keep behaving in a crazy, self-destructive way and continue along its trajectory into dystopia and toward self-inflicted extinction, or abandon this madness and push for something better. Whether it wants to keep buying into the lies and propaganda and tacitly consenting to the psychopathic murderousness of the powerful, or let the light of truth shine in.

A live-streamed genocide happening right out in the open forces a civilization to start asking questions about itself. If something like this can happen in plain view of everyone, and the people in charge not only do nothing but actively facilitate it, then you have to start wondering if everything about your entire nation is deranged, and if everything you’ve been told about the world is a lie.

Australia’s Defence Department has refused a Freedom of Information request about the details of an arms deal with Israel on the grounds that such information “could harm Australia’s international standing and reputation,” which suggests the details must be pretty damning. Equally as scandalous, this refusal was reportedly made in consultation with the Israeli government.

In an article titled “Details of defence deal with Israel kept under wraps to protect Australia’s ‘reputation’,” the ABC’s Andrew Greene details how the Australian military snubbed a Freedom of Information request by the Australian Greens regarding a “Memorandum of Understanding” between Australia and Israel that was signed in 2017.

“The document within the scope of this request contains information which, if released, could reasonably be expected to damage the international relations of the Commonwealth,” the Defence Department said in a letter explaining its rejection.
