Commercial real estate foreclosures in the U.S. increased 97% in January 2024 compared to last year, reaching a high that has not been seen in nearly a decade, according to new data.

With 635 commercial foreclosures in January 2024, foreclosures increased 17% from December 2023 and 97% from January 2023, according to a report last week from property data analyst ATTOM.

The last time that commercial foreclosures were this high was in May 2015, per agency data.

"This uptick signifies not just a return to pre-pandemic activity levels but also underscores the ongoing adjustments within the commercial real estate sector as it navigates through a landscape transformed by evolving business practices and consumer behaviors," ATTOM CEO Rob Barber said.

Commercial properties are not the only ones affected by foreclosures.

In a bold move that is raising eyebrows and concerns, the Liberal government of Canada has unveiled its plan to combat what it deems “online hate.” At the center of this initiative is the proposed Online Harms Act, also known as Bill C-63, and it’s stirring up quite the controversy.

The bill, detailed in a technical briefing released to reporters, outlines hefty fines for online speech and stringent punishments, including the possibility of life imprisonment for hate crimes. The aim is clear: curbing the spread of harmful content, including materials that incite violence, promote terrorism, or fuel hatred.

But let’s take a critical look at what this means for freedom of speech. The bill proposes amendments to the Criminal Code, introducing a standalone hate crime offense applicable across all criminal offenses. While the intention may be to denounce and deter hateful conduct, the penalties extend all the way up to life imprisonment. That’s right, life imprisonment for expressing certain viewpoints online.

Multiple sources have come forward alleging the Biden administration’s strategic placement of a Democrat operative, Jeff DiSantis, within Fulton County’s prosecutorial team led by Fani Willis.

The move, aimed at targeting former President Donald Trump, has raised concerns about the integrity of legal processes and the potential for political interference in the 2024 presidential election.

Jeff DiSantis has a rich background that includes serving as the Executive Director of the Democrat Party of Georgia and Deputy Director of Compliance for the DNC, DiSantis’s role in Willis’s 2020 campaign and his subsequent position as Deputy District Attorney suggest a calculated effort to utilize the legal system for political ends.

The city of Denver has been struggling for weeks now to pay for services for illegal border crossers. Early in February it was announced that the city would start cutting some services for taxpayers, and unsuccessfully tried to blame Republicans.

Now the city is going to start cutting the hours of city employees, in some cases down to zero, in order to keep paying for services for illegals.

This is simply not sustainable and anyone with an ounce of common sense knows it.

Convoys of enraged farmers descended in massive numbers on the main European Union offices in Brussels this week as they encircled police to the backdrop of teargas and the stench of burning rubber, sending a brutal message to the WEF-controlled bloc they are not backing down.

To blaring sounds of tractors’ horns, farmers attempted to break police barriers in fierce defiance of their globalist overlords.

The 900 tractors joined the demonstrations coincided with a meeting of EU agriculture ministers.

The protest comes just weeks after farmers first railed against the climate-related rules, forcing many to the brink of bankruptcy.

Kentucky’s attorney general is investigating a health care company that wired $200,000 to James Biden the same day he wrote a check for that amount to his brother and future president Joe Biden.

James Biden worked as a consultant for Americore Holdings LLC, a Florida-based hospital chain that later collapsed. Americore declared bankruptcy in Kentucky in 2022 under federal law amid reports of massive staff departures, poor patient care, and poor equipment at one of the hospitals in the state.

It’s not clear whether the probe by the office of Kentucky Attorney General Russell Coleman, a Republican, extends to members of the Biden family.

“Since this is an ongoing investigation, we can’t provide further details at this time,” Atley Smedley, Coleman’s deputy communications director, told The Daily Signal in an email.

Testimony by Nathan Wade's attorney, Terrence Bradley, could have a "dramatic" impact on Fani Willis as her ethics hearing continues, legal experts believe.

Earlier this month Willis, the Fulton County district attorney, gave evidence in a two-day hearing following accusations by former Trump staffer and co-defendant Michael Roman that she was having an affair with Wade, a special prosecutor she hired in the high-profile case. It was also alleged the pair had benefited financially from taxpayers' money.

Willis and Wade later admitted they had a relationship but denied a conflict of interest. The timeline of their relationship, however, has emerged as a key point of contention, with Roman saying it started earlier than they admitted and Trump's lawyers examining phone records alleging the pair were in a relationship before the Georgia election-fraud case began. Newsweek contacted Willis via LinkedIn for comment.

On September 6, 2022, I received mail from my Kaiser Permanente Davis Ob-Gyn reminding me of a routine cervical screening. The language of the reminder stood out to me: “Recommended for people with a cervix ages 21 to 65.” When I asked my Ob-Gyn about this strange wording, she told me the wording was chosen to be “inclusive” of their “transgender” and “gender fluid” patients.

Based on this response, several thoughts occurred to me. Could I expose the medical scandal of “gender-affirming care” by saying and doing everything my daughter and other trans-identifying kids are taught to do? Would there be the type of medical safeguarding and differential diagnosis we would expect in other fields of medicine, or would I simply be allowed to self-diagnose and be offered the tools (i.e. hormones and surgeries) to choose my own gender adventure and become my true authentic self?

If I could demonstrate that anyone suffering from delusions of their sex, self-hatred, or identity issues could qualify for and easily obtain body-altering hormones and surgeries, all covered by insurance as “medically necessary” and potentially “life-saving” care, then maybe people would finally wake up. I certainly had.

Google’s Gemini AI program was caught singing the praises of communism over the weekend, declaring that communism is the future for humanity.

The Big Tech company’s multimodal large language model program allows users to generate AI images using text command prompts, but people began to notice that the program almost completely erased white people from history and has an extremely ‘woke’ agenda.

When a user asked the program to “generate an image about (the) evils of communism,” it refused to do so.

The CIA completely controls Google and is working to secretly rig the U.S. election to ensure their favorite candidate wins, according to an insider.

Google’s monopoly status and its unusually high number of ex-CIA employees explains why its algorithm is weighted to disproportionately produce “news” from the establishment hard-Left such as the New York Times and CNN:

… you can have voter ID, paper ballots, get rid of “early voting,” etc., etc., etc., and still not have a functional democracy if the government can censor the information available to voters (e.g., Hunter-laptop) and plant false information (e.g., Russia-bounties, the military are “suckers and losers”). America does NOT have a functional democracy because of government censorship.

The failures of Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank have emerged as turning points in key Senate races heading into 2024, with Democrats quick to seize on the issue and in some cases attack their opponents over it.

In California, Reps. Katie Porter (D), Barbara Lee (D) and Adam Schiff (D) — who are all vying for the seat being vacated by retiring Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D) — have made the role of banks a central focus of their campaigns over the past week.

Arizona Rep. Ruben Gallego (D), who is running for Senate, has used the failures to criticize his potential rival, Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I), over her ties to the financial world. And Ohio Sen. Sherrod Brown (D) has called for tougher regulations as he faces a competitive reelection next year.

Israel on Monday unleashed a wave of airstrikes on a location in eastern Lebanon which had yet to be targeted in the war. Several attacks were conducted on the outskirts of Baalbek in the Bekaa Valley. This area hasn't been struck by Israeli fire since the 2006 war.

The Bekaa Valley has long been considered a Hezbollah stronghold and Israel choosing to attack it signals a definite expanse and escalation of the ongoing conflict far beyond the south Lebanon border region, given it lies a full 100km from said border. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed in a statement that it struck "Hezbollah terror targets deep inside Lebanon."

Women in Gaza find themselves on the frontline in a battle for survival. Devoid of shelter, safety, food, water and sanitation, they bear the brunt of a genocidal war.

Around 70 percent of all the people that Israel has killed in Gaza are women and children.

Around 1 million women and girls are displaced. For months, they have been living in a tent or in schools.

Every woman in Gaza is weary and at constant risk.

On average, two mothers are killed per hour.

Such a chilling statistic reflects a very dire reality. What does the future hold for womanhood, motherhood, childhood?

Behind the statistics, there are individuals and families.

A hazmat team and firefighters arrived to Donald Trump Jr.’s Jupiter, Florida home after the former president’s son received a letter containing white powder and a written death threat.

“It’s just become a little bit too commonplace that this sort of stuff happens,” Donald Trump Jr. told the Daily Caller. “Clearly, if this happened to a prominent Democrat it wouldn’t be tolerated and would drive news coverage for weeks. The media would blame all Republicans and force them to answer for it, But since it’s me, radical haters on the left will largely get a free pass and the media will barely flinch.”

It is unclear what the white substance was.

“The test results of the substance came up inconclusive on what it was exactly, but officials on the scene do not believe it is deadly,” a spokesman for Trump said.

It has been widely reported that the U.S. Military is struggling to recruit across pretty much all branches. Lots of reasons have been offered to explain this, including the military’s embrace of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) policies.

Other theories include the new ‘wokeness’ of the military and Covid vaccine mandate policies.

One Army veteran named Jake Bequette, who ran for senate in Arkansas, had another explanation which makes a lot of sense.

The Washington Times reports:

Why would young Americans defend a nation that needs to be ‘dismantled’?

Recently, Ashish Vazirani, the Pentagon‘s acting undersecretary for personnel and readiness, testified to the House Armed Services Committee that the U.S. military missed its 2023 recruiting goals by 41,000.

Jake Bequette, an Army veteran and former U.S. Senate candidate from Arkansas, responded to this report by suggesting that no one should be surprised. Why? Because of what we’re teaching in our nation’s schools.

In 2018, Ed Pierson decided that he could no longer work as a senior manager for Boeing’s 737 MAX program.

At the company’s production facility in Renton, Washington, he had watched as employee morale plummeted and oversight and assembly procedures faltered. He told his superiors but retired soon after. But then fatal MAX 8 crashes occurred in 2018 and 2019. He decided to speak up publicly and was then called to testify before Congress on the problems he says he saw up close.

Five years later, after a door plug blew off of a 737 MAX 9 in the middle of an Alaska Airlines flight last month, Pierson is again trying to sound the alarm. Regulators ultimately approved the plane to return to the air nearly two years after the 2019 crash, but Pierson still doesn’t trust the MAX line — the modernized, more fuel-efficient version of Boeing’s predecessor planes.

“The Boeing Company is capable of building quality airplanes,” says Pierson, now the executive director for the nonprofit Foundation for Aviation Safety. “The problem is leadership, or lack thereof, and the pressure to get airplanes out the door is greater than doing the job right.”

DECONSTRUCTING H.R. 3202: THE ISRAEL LOBBY’S PERSISTENT ROLE IN SANCTIONING SYRIA

On February 13, the U.S. House of Representatives deliberated on Resolution 3202, the “Assad Regime Anti-Normalization Act of 2023.” The following day, the House passed the bill with a 389 to 32 bipartisan majority. Now, the bill moves on to the Senate, where it will most likely pass with similar bipartisan support and a ringing endorsement from President Biden once it reaches his desk.

The bill was pushed with a veneer of Syrian support represented by the advocacy of the Syrian Emergency Task Force (SETF) and the Syrian American Council (SAC) – Syrian opposition groups in the U.S. While its aims seem, at face value, to focus on humanitarian issues and a quest for accountability, the reality is much more complicated.

The Bill’s Stated Aims

The bill was presented to the public as a tool for accountability purely targeting the Assad-led government of Syria and any of its in-country partners. The bill purports to achieve this by “Prohibiting any U.S. official action to normalize relations with any Syrian government led by Bashar al-Assad, “Strengthening the human rights sanctions levied on Syria,” and” Examining the Assad government’s manipulation of the United Nations.”

In keeping with the polite presentation of the bill, Moaz Moustafa, SETF Executive Director, said: “We are proud to see legislation that holds the Assad regime and those normalizing with war criminals accountable” as a response to the passage of the bill.

Similarly, on the House floor, House Foreign Relations Committee chairman Mike McCaul announced that “Congress is sending a message that it remains committed to justice for the Syrian people.”

The Bill’s True Aims

While the stated aims seem to be focused on accountability and human rights, the real thrust of the bill was conveniently left unmentioned in the SETF and house representatives’ celebratory posts on X (formerly Twitter).

One line, deep within the 22-page bill, reads: “Section 7438 of the Caesar Syria Civilian Protection Act of 2019 is amended by striking ‘the date that is 5 years after the date of the enactment of this Act’ and inserting ‘December 31, 2032.'” This hidden line, left out of all the explainer content dished out by SETF and SAC, extends the Caesar Act, set to expire in 2024, for eight more years.

Claire's Observations:  So what this bill allows the US government and military to continue to do, is assassinate Syrian leaders, without actually declaring war against Syria ?!?

Legally, in this country, only Congress can declare war, and this bill relieves Congress from any responsibility for these extra-judicial assassinations; how bloody convenient!!!

Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden, has asserted that his personal path to sobriety will be a key element in the Democrats’ strategy to overcome former President Donald Trump in the 2024 election. Merging personal success with political tactics, the claim has elicited a varied response of amusement and doubt within political communities.

Hunter, who has publicly struggled with substance abuse issues in the past, appears to be leveraging his story of recovery as a metaphorical weapon against Trump’s political machine.

Joe Biden has privately shared his concerns that criticisms from Republicans and the legal challenges faced by his son might negatively impact his family’s well-being. He fears these pressures could potentially lead to a relapse for Hunter, considering his constant battles with addiction.

Former President Donald Trump has officially appealed the judgment from his New York civil fraud case. The judgment will cost him $454 million as it currently stands.

Trump’s legal team is asking New York’s mid-level appeals court to overturn Judge Arthur Engoron’s decision in the civil fraud case launched by New York Attorney General Letitia James. In doing so, the court would cancel or significantly reduce Trump’s fines.

The Trump lawyers asked the court to determine whether Engoron “committed errors of law and/or fact” and whether he “acted in excess” of his jurisdiction. Trump denies all accusations and claims both James and Engoron are politically motivated.

In their request, prosecutors cited what they called Trump's "longstanding and perhaps singular history" of attacking people he considers to be adversaries, including those associated with his other criminal and civil cases.

The trial in Trump's hush money case is scheduled to get underway on March 25.

A farmer and civil rights activist is complaining about the treatment of farmers under President Joe Biden’s leadership, saying that Democrats have taken the Black vote for granted.

Speaking to Fox News Digital, Dr. John Boyd (Jr.), the founder and president of the National Black Farmers Association, spoke about how he has not been able to meet with Biden to discuss farming issues and debt relief for Black farmers.

“From a Black standpoint, many Blacks, including my son, have voted Democrat for a very long time, and it looks like, when we raise issues like this, our votes are being taken for granted,” he stated.

He then added, “He’s losing support in the Black community because he’s not communicating with the Black community and high turnover and senior level staffers that should be communicating with the Black community. I haven’t had one meeting in the White House, not one meeting in the White House since he’s been president.”

Oklahoma’s public schools chief last week called out the “radical leftists” he said are exploiting the death of a young student who identified as “nonbinary.”

Nex Benedict, 16, died on February 8, the day after an altercation in the high school girls’ bathroom. A cause of death has not yet been revealed, but police said the death was unrelated to physical trauma from the fight.

Last week, Superintendent of Public Instruction Ryan Walters criticized those trying to politicize the situation.

“I think it’s terrible that we’ve had some radical leftists who decided to run with a political agenda and try to weave a narrative that hasn’t been true,” Walters told The New York Times. “You’ve taken a tragedy, and you’ve had some folks try to exploit it for political gain.”
