We put together a short reel of some of the people who are fighting the genocide in Gaza.

It shows that they come from every walk of life – military, artists, college students, community people, even a US Senator.

Unfortunately, the news media, mainstream and so-called alternative, seems to only show shrill people screaming and waving “Free Palestine” signs.

The resistance to the atrocity is much broader and is being fought in many different places and in many different ways.

President Joe Biden on Monday sought to reassure Jewish voters that he stands firmly with Israel, calling for the full defeat of Hamas and denouncing the International Criminal Court’s assertion that Israel’s leaders are guilty of war crimes for their campaign in Gaza.

“What’s happening is not genocide. We reject that,” Biden said during a speech in the Rose Garden.

Vowing to continue to work “around the clock” to free the remaining Israeli hostages held by Hamas, the president avoided any past criticisms of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s plan to launch a larger-scale invasion of Rafah, emphasizing instead his continued backing of Israel.

“I will always ensure Israel has everything it needs to defend itself against Hamas and all their enemies,” said Biden, who also noted his administration’s approval of humanitarian aid for innocent Palestinians. “We stand with Israel to take out [Hamas leader Yahya] Sinwar and the rest of the butchers of Hamas. We want Hamas defeated; we will work with Israel to make that happen.”

The speech honoring Jewish Heritage Month marked a clear effort to repair the increasingly strained relationship between the president and the Jewish community. For months, the president has struggled to navigate the thorny domestic politics of the Israel-Hamas war, offending progressives for his steadfast support of Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu before angering pro-Israel Democrats by withholding a shipment of heavy bombs that, he argued, would only worsen the humanitarian catastrophe on Gaza.

That latter decision, which coincided with the invitations for Monday’s gathering, created a fraught backdrop to Monday’s event, with Jewish Democratic leaders, donors and strategists expressing frustration that Biden chose to announce his threat to withhold specific aid to Israel less than a day after his Holocaust remembrance speech, when he declared his unwavering support for the country and decried the “ferocious surge” in antisemitism.

Claire's Observations:  CODSWALLOP!!, it appears that you have, once again, "drunk the Israeli Koolade on this issue and refuse to see reality, replacing it with your own, which can, of course, be comforting; however, it's still not reality.  And sir, when someone presents the opposite view, you have a moral duty to look at it before you lie to the public yet again, about what is happening in Gaza.  And forgive me, sir, but there are a lot of people on this planet who are absolutely NOT antisemitic;   they just hate to see women and children killed, or maimed for life, like these.

Claire's Observations:  CODSWALLOP, SIR!!  (You're Irish, so I am pretty sure you know what that means.)  What you are seeing is NOT antisemitism; you are seeing massive upset at a nation/state, which is killing and maiming children and women.  Apparently  you have not had your "Buddha on the Road" moment here, so let me show you a couple of images to demonstrate what I mean.

This woman lost her niece, courtesy of an Israeli air strike: she is wrapped in white in preparation for his burial.  NO woman on this planet should have to go through this.  And the kid's crime  being a Palestinian.  TELL THE AMERICAN PUBLIC THAT HER DEATH WAS NOT A GENOCIDE, AND YOU ARE LIABLE TO GET SOMEONE VERY UPSET, which doesn't mean they are antisemitic; they just don't like what the theocracy which is Israel, is doing to its Palestinian minority;  Now,

Here is another image of two parents saying goodbye to their dead son, also wrapped in white, for burial:  His crime?!?

Being Palestinian.

Sir, the lies are not going to change reality here, no matter how intensely you shill for Israel.  Have I made my point, or do you need to see more?!? Here's a link you might need: https://reliefweb.int/report/occupied-palestinian-territory/week-israeli-army-executes-13-children-and-near-al-shifa-hospital-enar

Sir, forgive me, but if the execution of Palestinian kids is NOT  genocide, what the hell is it?!? I'm game, enlighten me, please.

As Ukraine’s defeat in the war moves closer, the neocons are desperate to draw the US further into the fight. Over the weekend, former US State Department official Victoria Nuland told ABC News that the US must help facilitate Ukrainian missile attacks deep inside Russian territory. The Biden Administration has to this point avoided involvement in such attacks, likely because Russian president Vladimir Putin has warned that Russia will strike any facility that supplies or facilitates strikes inside of Russia, wherever they may be.

It’s a clear warning from a nuclear power, but as Nuland and her fellow neocons see their Ukraine project failing, they demand escalation. This is just what they did in their previous disastrous projects like the Iraq War, the attacks on Syria and Libya, and the 20-year occupation of Afghanistan. For them the failure is never because it was a bad idea in the first place, but that not enough lives and resources were poured into that bad idea to create a good outcome.

But Russia is no Iraq nor is it Libya. This time they are playing with World War III and nuclear destruction and no one in DC seems concerned.

Alon Pinkas, a former senior Israeli diplomat (well plugged in at the White House), says aloud the ‘reality’ about Israel which he underlines cannot be hidden further:

“[There are now] two [Jewish] states – with contrasting visions of what the nation should be. There is an elephant in the Israeli room – and ‘no’: it’s not occupation, though that is its main cause”.

“The elephant in the room is Israel gradually but inexorably being divided [into a high-tech, secular, liberal state] … and a Jewish-supremacist, ultranationalist theocracy with messianic, antidemocratic tendencies that encourage isolation”.

“Zionism … has morphed and mutated through the settler movement and extreme right-wing zealots into a Masada-like political culture, based on the concept of the redemption of the ancient kingdom in the ancestral land. (Masada was a Sicarii cult in CE 73)”.

The prosecution rested its case after 'star witness' Michael Cohen took the stand for a third day, as the court waits with bated breath to find out whether former President Donald Trump could testify himself.

Trump's attorneys drew gasps in court after they called up Robert Costello to testify, who has accused Michael Cohen of spewing 'lies.'

Earlier, Cohen admitted under oath that he stole $60,000 from the Trump Organization and dramatically revealed that he dealt with an apparent photo ‘extortion’ blackmail attempt involving the ex-president’s daughter, Tiffany

The presidency is powerful—entirely too powerful. Through mission creep, popular acclaim, and abandonment of responsibility by the legislative branch, the nation's chief executive has gained near-unilateral authority to wage war and is rapidly acquiring similarly monarchical say over domestic policy. But the office is still elected. The American people are entitled to job interviews with hopeful candidates. Unfortunately, presidential "debates" barely fill that role, least of all the choreographed kabuki meet-ups between Joe Biden and Donald Trump scheduled for this summer.

When everyone who was able to flee from Gaza was doing so, Dr. David Hasan made the reverse journey. His story is a must-read for every Israeli

At the end of December 2023, when everyone who was able to flee from the Gaza Strip was doing so, Prof. David Hasan made the reverse journey. Hasan, a senior neurosurgeon and an esteemed researcher at Duke University in North Carolina, decided to fly to Cairo and from there to make his way to Rafah and enter Gaza.

"Until the war broke out, I was focused on advancing my career and taking care of my family," Hasan, who is 50, tells Haaretz in a video interview. "But this situation – which touched me from both sides [of the border] – overwhelmed me emotionally and pulled me in. I felt I had to do something to help."

Hasan was a member of the first medical team – consisting of 18 physicians from the United States, Canada and England – to enter the Strip after the start of the war. They arrived through Rahma Worldwide (an American humanitarian organization) and the organization Medical Aid for Palestine, under the auspices of the United Nations and the World Health Organization.

"The UN and WHO facilitated our entry and assisted with regard to the medications and surgical equipment we brought with us," Hasan says. "But they also informed us in advance that once we entered Gaza, they would have no way of providing us with protection." The doctors were asked to sign a document waiving the UN of any responsibility for their welfare, which, he says, "made the situation all the more threatening."

Their mission was to get to the European Gaza Hospital, near Khan Yunis in the southern Strip, and spend a week there performing surgery on adults and children. Then, less than two months ago, Hasan entered Gaza again on a similar mission, and saw firsthand the transformation that had taken place there since his previous visit.

"The first thing you see in Rafah," he relates, "is miles and miles of hanging fabrics – the tents of the displaced people, which are erected against the background of the ruins of buildings. When you turn onto Saladin Road, which is the main road connecting Gaza's north and south, suddenly you see an ocean of people. These are the displaced people who live there now. As you get closer to the hospital, you see more and more people, and more and more tents."

The hospital itself looked like a refugee camp, Hasan says. "I was confused, because I had never seen so many people living inside a hospital. Every corner there was occupied by a group of people. They made use of every available item – a small curtain, a staircase, a plastic chair – and turned it into their living space. Entire families huddled on squares of two meters by two meters, and ate, drank and slept there. Walking in the hospital, you had to be careful not to step on people."

On the day he entered the Gaza Strip in December, Hasan notes, he didn't see Israeli troops or hear explosions. "I thought the war was in some kind of lull. But as soon as evening fell, heavy shelling started, and I realized that there were many Israeli forces around the hospital – you just don't see them during the day. The noise of a one-ton bomb is deafening. The first time one was dropped nearby, I happened to be standing on a stool, and I fell off, because the building shook so hard. It went on like that every five or 10 minutes. I asked the local doctors what to do, and they told me that you get used to it and that I should just keep working to distract myself from the anxiety.

Claire's Observations:  And By-di-Bye can stand there, with his hair on fire, and  declare that the scene you are seeing, of a woman mourning  the rest of her dead family, and declare to the American people that this is NOT genocide; CODSWALLOP!!!!!!!

Fortson was fatally shot on May 3 after sheriff's deputies arrived at his apartment complex in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, responding to a call about an alleged domestic disturbance.

Body camera footage released by the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office shows the deputy knocked on Fortson's door and announced himself several times. Fortson eventually opened the door, holding a handgun at his side. The officer said "step back" and began firing. Fortson only had time to raise his empty hand, palm outward. Three to four seconds elapsed between Fortson opening the door and the deputy firing six rounds at him.

rump secured a strong, conservative majority for the Supreme Court. Since then, Democrats have been on the warpath. They have tried to make a case for dismantling the highest court as we know it. They want to impose term limits or pack the court with more liberal justices.

To that end, they have tried to smear the reputations of many respected, conservative justices.

Because he is the longest-serving conservative, they have been merciless to Justice Clarence Thomas. While speaking about his life and work, Thomas singled out what is going on in DC. And he is dropping a hammer on the swamp that is trying to destroy himself and his family.

From CNN:
Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas repeatedly pushed back on his critics during remarks Friday at a judicial conference in Alabama, lamenting what he described as the “nastiness” and “lies” directed at him and calling Washington a “hideous place.”…

Michael Cohen is the “star witness” in Democrats’ criminal trial against Donald Trump. The former Trump lawyer claimed the former president committed crimes by paying “hush money” and falsifying documents.

Cohen has already served time in jail for lying about his work for Trump. This week, however, he took the stand and provided audio proving his claims. But, as it is turning out, this “ace” evidence might have sunk the prosecution’s case.

From Just the News:
When their star witness Michael Cohen played a tape he secretly made of his ex-boss and client, the recording appeared to show that Trump was unaware of key details, seemingly aloof to a plan that Cohen himself admitted he had concocted to make the so-called “hush money” payments.
