A controversial British cardiologist has called for the Pfizer and Moderna Covid shots to be suspended in Australia until the risk of heart complications is better understood, saying prior vaccines “have been pulled for much less”.

Dr Aseem Malhotra, who has emerged as one of the most high-profile figures in the anti-vaccine movement and is currently in Australia on a speaking tour, said it was a “no-brainer” and accused the medicines regulator, the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), of ignoring the clear safety signal from its own reporting system once the rollout was well under way.

“People can be forgiving if new information comes in, we know people make mistakes — but once you get that information back, them not acting on it … the problem is the cover-up is worse than the crime,” he said.

The 45-year-old boasts an impressive resume but has become a polarising figure since last year, when he first called for the suspension of mRNA Covid vaccines and started making claims — which have been disputed by fact checkers — about their dangers.

The US Department of Homeland Security operated a program that sought to automate the designation of social media users as “pro-terrorist” based on their use of certain keywords and interaction with other targeted users, according to documents obtained by the Brennan Center for Justice and published on Tuesday.

Project Night Fury, a partnership between the DHS and the University of Alabama at Birmingham, sought to assign potentially “pro-terrorist” accounts a “risk score” that would then affect other accounts they interacted with. The university had agreed to develop automated methods to determine whether an account linked to one already under surveillance was itself “pro-terrorist,” using criteria like “keyword set comparisons.” The algorithm, not a human, would determine whether a user could be labeled “pro-terrorist” for simply clicking “like” on a Facebook post or retweeting an account that had already received that label.

Boeing has been accused in a bombshell lawsuit of making knock-off versions of patented tools for work on NASA rockets, allegedly leading to the leaks that caused numerous embarrassing delays for the historic Artemis I mission.

The federal lawsuit filed on Wednesday by Wilson Aerospace alleges that Boeing stole trade secrets for NASA's Space Launch System (SLS) rocket, and built components with 'critical' safety flaws that could endanger astronauts.

The suit said that, after Boeing cancelled a contract with Wilson, the company made its own versions of Wilson's highly specialized tools, including one known as a Fluid Fitting Torque Device.

Wilson alleges in the suit that 'the mismatched tools have caused some fluid leaks that have continually delayed the SLS launch, costing NASA hundreds of millions of dollars while unjustly enriching Boeing through its cost-plus contract with NASA.'

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan sent a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland on Tuesday demanding documentation related to the FBI’s raid of former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate last year.

The raid — which took place on Aug. 8, 2022 — was reportedly aimed at retrieving “any document Trump ever saw, read, or created for the entirety of his four years as commander-in-chief.” Due to the unprecedented nature of the Biden DOJ conducting a raid on a former president and a potential 2024 rival, House Judiciary Republicans sent letters to Garland, FBI Director Christopher Wray, and then-White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain demanding records pertaining to “the execution of a search warrant” and “the decision to seek a search warrant” for Trump’s estate. The affidavit released by the FBI later that month justifying the agency’s warrant application to raid Trump’s Florida residence was nearly all redacted.

“It’s not true. It wasn’t closed down,” William Barr told The Federalist on Tuesday in response to Democrat Rep. Jamie Raskin’s claim that the former attorney general and his “handpicked prosecutor” had ended an investigation into a confidential human source’s allegation that Joe Biden had agreed to a $5 million bribe. “On the contrary,” Barr stressed, “it was sent to Delaware for further investigation.”

Former Attorney General Barr went on the record with The Federalist following statements Raskin made to the press Monday afternoon. Soon after attending a closed-door meeting with House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer and the FBI — at which lawmakers reviewed the FD-1023 form summarizing a CHS’s detailed allegations that then-Vice President Joe Biden agreed to accept money from a foreign national to affect policy decisions — Raskin spoke to the media. 

“What I learned,” Raskin claimed, “was that Attorney General Barr named Scott Brady, who was the U.S. attorney for Western Pennsylvania, to head up a group of prosecutors who would look into all the allegations related to Ukraine.”

“After Rudy Giuliani surfaced these allegations,” Raskin continued, Brady’s team looked into the FD-1023 and “in August determined that there was no grounds to escalate from an initial assessment to a preliminary investigation,” and so “they called an end to the investigation.” 

Minnesota has approved a bill that would allow illegal immigrants to benefit from the state’s education aid program, proposing to make tuition 100% free in higher education if families make less than $80,000.

HF 2073 is a recent measure connected to college education that uplifts the North Star Promise tuition fee program. North Star Promise allows eligible students in the state of Minnesota, including illegal immigrants, to be eligible for free college tuition as long as their family’s adjusted gross income is less than $80,000.

The tuition fee is applicable for enrollees in a two or four-year program within the University of Minnesota or Minnesota state schools.

The legislation passed both the Minnesota House and Senate, with Democrat Governor Tim Walz authorizing the program on May 24th. The legislature’s Democrat majority voted in support of the bill.
