US and UK warplanes launched several airstrikes on Hodeidah International Airport in western Yemen in the overnight and early Friday hours. "US–British aircraft targeted Hodeidah International Airport with three raids," a security source told Yemen’s SABA news agency.

The renewed attacks came after several prior US–UK attacks on Yemen Thursday. "American and British fighter jets launched five raids on various Ansarallah sites in the Ras Issa area, which includes an oil berth affiliated with the port of Al-Salif, north of Hodeidah," a local source in the western Hodeidah province told Sputnik Thursday.

US Central Command (CENTCOM) said shortly after midnight on Thursday that it destroyed five uncrewed vessels and three drones belonging to the Houthis in the Red Sea and in "a Houthi controlled area of Yemen."

Yemen has imposed a naval blockade on all ships delivering goods to Israeli ports in the Red Sea, Arab Sea, Gulf of Aden, the Indian Ocean, and the Mediterranean – in support of Palestinians in Gaza. It also recently expanded its campaign to include joint operations with the Iraqi resistance.

Viktor Orbán, Prime Minister of Hungary, stands out for his audacity and persistence in the realm of contemporary politics. His tireless efforts in diplomacy and steadfast commitment to national and global stability merit serious consideration for the Nobel Peace Prize. His relentless pursuit of peace, even amidst widespread criticism, underscores the kind of leadership the world desperately needs today.

The Nobel Peace Prize, despite its controversies, remains one of the highest accolades for contributions to global peace and reconciliation. Historical recipients, from the European Union in 2012 for turning Europe from a continent of war to a continent of peace, to Henry Kissinger and Barack Obama for their diplomatic endeavors, have set a precedent for recognizing transformative efforts in international relations. While some decisions have sparked debate, the prize continues to honor those who genuinely strive for global harmony.

For over two decades Viktor Orbán has been a central figure in Hungarian politics. His tenure has seen Hungary navigate through the 2008 financial crisis and emerge with strengthened national sovereignty and economic stability. Orbán’s policies have focused on reducing national debt, increasing employment, and supporting families, thereby fostering a social cohesion that is essential for lasting peace. Economic stability, after all, is a cornerstone of societal tranquility.

Nearly 200,000 people have enlisted in the Russian army in 2024, the Defense Ministry in Moscow has said. The average recruitment rate is “about 1,000 people per day,” the ministry wrote on Telegram on Thursday.

Russia has conducted a wide-scale recruitment campaign since launching its military operation in Ukraine in February 2022. Last month, President Vladimir Putin said around 700,000 troops are deployed in the conflict zone.

In recent months, Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky and Western media have claimed that Russia is planning a second wave of mobilization. The first took place in September 2022, when Moscow announced plans to call up 300,000 additional soldiers.

The election campaign between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump is heating up. Polls show that issues like the U.S. economy, immigration, whether Trump will be incarcerated and whether Biden is mentally fit for office are at the forefront of most Americans’ minds. Yet a significant issue that could have far-reaching consequences for the American people and the world is being almost entirely overlooked.

Neither candidate has thoroughly addressed the risks of a new conflagration in the Red Sea, one which could rival the disastrous U.S. wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. While the issue of Gaza garnered predictable pledges from both candidates to protect Israel at all costs, little scrutiny has been given to the potential risk of a new U.S.-led war, nor the consequences it could have on American interests and the lives of U.S. service members. Forces opposed to Israeli and U.S. actions in the Middle East are intensifying operations, developing vast arsenals of weapons designed to dull the qualitative edge of Western military might and strengthening ties between Washington’s disparate adversaries, particularly Russia.

Lying on the southwestern tip of the Arabian Peninsula, Yemen, perhaps more than any other nation, has openly supported Palestine’s struggle against Israeli occupation since the devastating war on Gaza began on October 7. Yemeni citizens are so concerned about a possible American intervention in their country, about stopping the genocide in Gaza and about confronting what they see as illegal U.S. and U.K. aggression near their borders that they still gather in the hundreds of thousands every weekend to express their dismay.

As NATO wrapped up its Summit and Biden held a crucial press conference, the media frenzy focused on Biden’s age and cognitive abilities. Is he too old and disoriented to lead the “free world”? Did he get through his press conference without stumbling too many times? Lost in the media coverage about the Summit, however, has been a serious discussion of NATO’s advanced age and its ability to lead the “free world.”

At 75, NATO has not aged well. Back in 2019, French President Emmanuel Macron was already sounding the alarm, accusing NATO of being “brain dead.” While Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has given NATO a new lease on life, NATO’s embrace of Ukraine makes the conflict–and the world–more dangerous.

Let’s remember why NATO was founded. As the contours of the Cold War were emerging after the devastation of WWII, 10 European nations, along with the U.S. and Canada, came together in 1949 to create an alliance that would deter Soviet expansion, stop the revival of nationalist militarism in Europe through a strong North American presence on the continent, and encourage European political integration. Or, as the alliance’s first Secretary General Lord Ismay quipped, its purpose was “to keep the Soviets out, the Americans in, and the Germans down.”

With four months left until the elections in the United States, other issues are falling off the media radar. One might think that the genocide in Gaza had ended, as the coverage of it in mainstream media has fallen off dramatically.

But Israel has been escalating its attacks, openly targeting schools, dropping bombs on children playing soccer, and moving hundreds of thousands of largely homeless Palestinians from one place to another and bombing all of it

Meanwhile, American attention has moved inward, debating whether or not the obvious mental incapacity of a man who holds the most powerful position in the world is disqualifying while his full partnership in a genocide of stunning magnitude is not.

When I started out, when I was essentially just a kid, I got my first job in the conservative movement at a place called the Leadership Institute. It gives you a survey about your beliefs, and one of the questions it asks is what you think the most important issue is. Even then, I said immigration. The reason is because immigration defines what the country is. Besides, from a purely tactical standpoint, if you do not win on that, you will not win on anything else.

I am tempted to say there is nothing else to talk about. However, long experience in this movement tells me it is not that simple. Human psychology is complicated. It is a temptation for us to believe that our lives have cosmic significance, at least the time in which we were born does, and the predominant religious impulse of our time comes from the Left. Leftists call themselves secular, but they are not secular. The predictions of a Marxist classless society, climate change, the General Strike — any and all of these things are eschatology by another name.

And yet, there is an illusion of permanence. Very few people in 1900 would have expected that the European world order was about to collapse in a genocidal and pointless war in about 20 years. And yet, the world that emerged in 1945 is essentially the same world we live in now. We still live in what’s called the postwar order. The moral norms and the true religious impulses of our time come from that conflict.

Understanding the intentions of a potential adversary is one of the most important yet most difficult challenges that any statesman faces. Underestimating a state’s aggressive intent can discourage the prudent defensive preparations necessary to deter a war, as happened in the prelude to World War II. Overestimating it can produce a cycle of increasingly threatening military measures that spirals into a conflict neither side has sought, as happened in the run up to World War I.

Finding the sweet spot between these poles is critical in dealing with Russian intentions toward NATO, which is celebrating its 75th anniversary this week at a summit meeting in Washington. Getting the balance between deterrence and diplomacy right is particularly important given Russia’s massive arsenal of nuclear weapons, which makes the stakes of any descent into direct conflict between Russia and NATO potentially existential.

But to judge from NATO rhetoric, no such delicate balance is required: the Russia challenge is regarded as a modern reprise of Nazi Germany’s aggression, and the chief danger facing the alliance is thought to be the temptation to appease and thereby invite further Russian conquest. Hence President Biden’s recent assertion that if the Russian military is not stopped decisively in Ukraine, it will “move on to Poland and other places.”

A federal judge in Texas has ruled that an 1868 ban on at-home distilling is unconstitutional.

U.S. District Judge Mark Pittman, in his ruling on Wednesday, sided with the Hobby Distillers Association's lawyers that the 156-year-old ban exceeded Congress's taxing power and violated the U.S. Constitution's Commerce Clause. The Hobby Distillers Association is a group that advocates legalizing a person's production of spirits such as whiskey and bourbon for their personal consumption.

"Indeed, the Constitution is written to prevent societal amnesia of the defined limits it places on this government of and by the people," Pittman wrote. "That is where the judiciary must declare when its coequal branches overstep their Constitutional authority. Congress has done so here."

Campaigners have uncovered worrying teaching materials for the Pentagon's 160 military schools that many service members may see as unpatriotic and even scary.

Training manuals for its 8,000 teachers advise that Thanksgiving feasts have no historical basis and that America was founded on land 'stolen' from natives.

Though uncontroversial for some, Adam Andrzejewski, who uncovered the documents via public records requests, calls it a 'perverse' way to teach kids of service members.

His revelations come as Republicans and Democrats clash in the Senate over LGBTQ+ troops and other controversies in the $886 billion defense bill.

Andrzejewski, head of the conservative watchdog OpenTheBooks.com, described a 'secret push within the Pentagon's K-12 public schools to institute radical ideologies' in classrooms.

The Daily Wire's Jordan Peterson on Friday threw a fit on Twitter demanding mass censorship of all anonymous accounts after someone used AI to make fun of him.

Peterson tagged Elon Musk with an AI image someone made of him looking like a rat and demanded he hold them "accountable."

The post Peterson whined about to Musk for portraying him as a rat was swiftly censored for violating "X's rules against Hateful Conduct."

"This all started because YOU called ME a rat," Nick Fuentes responded. "But now that your insult is being thrown back at you, you demand the unmasking of anonymous to ensure 'accountability' -- which really means chilling free speech under threat of retaliation. You are a shameless hypocrite and a fraud."

A federal appeals court panel ruled 2-1 on Friday that Tennessee does not unconstitutionally discriminate against transgender people by not allowing them to change the sex designation on their birth certificates.

“There is no fundamental right to a birth certificate recording gender identity instead of biological sex,” 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Jeffrey Sutton wrote for the majority in the decision upholding a 2023 district court ruling. The plaintiffs could not show that Tennessee’s policy was created out of animus against transgender people as it has been in place for more than half a century and “long predates medical diagnoses of gender dysphoria,” Sutton wrote.
