"The very word 'secrecy' is repugnant in a free and open society; and we are as a people inherently and historically opposed to secret societies, to secret oaths and to secret proceedings. We decided long ago that the dangers of excessive and unwarranted concealment of pertinent facts far outweighed the dangers which are cited to justify it. Even today, there is little value in opposing the threat of a closed society by imitating its arbitrary restrictions. Even today, there is little value in insuring the survival of our nation if our traditions do not survive with it." -- John F. Kennedy

The president of the German Teachers Association has warned that the country’s education system is being overwhelmed with migrant students, many of whom are illiterate and can barely speak the language.

“Due to immigration in 2015, the war in Ukraine and other immigration, new people are constantly coming into the system, but the system is slow to keep up because it is moving too fast,” said Stefan Düll.

Düll warned that a massive burden was being placed on educators because many of the children speak little or no German whatsoever.

Like the proverbial boiling frogs, the government has been gradually acclimating us to the specter of a police state for years now: Militarized police. Riot squads. Camouflage gear. Black uniforms. Armored vehicles. Mass arrests. Pepper spray. Tear gas. Batons. Strip searches. Surveillance cameras. Kevlar vests. Drones. Lethal weapons. Less-than-lethal weapons unleashed with deadly force. Rubber bullets. Water cannons. Stun grenades. Arrests of journalists. Crowd control tactics. Intimidation tactics. Brutality.

This is how you prepare a populace to accept a police state willingly, even gratefully.

You don’t scare them by making dramatic changes. Rather, you acclimate them slowly to their prison walls. Persuade the citizenry that their prison walls are merely intended to keep them safe and danger out. Desensitize them to violence, acclimate them to a military presence in their communities, and persuade them that only a militarized government can alter the seemingly hopeless trajectory of the nation.

It’s happening already.

Yet we’re not just being acclimated to the trappings of a police state. We’re also being bullied into silence and subservience in the face of outright injustice and heavy-handed political correctness, while simultaneously being groomed into accepting government tyranny, corruption and bureaucratic ineptitude as societal norms.

Russian President Vladimir Putin is in Vietnam, where he signed at least a dozen energy and trade deals with the country's President To Lam, on his tour to shore up ties in Asia in an effort to offset the West's drive to isolate Moscow.

On his last day in the country he made some wide-ranging remarks to the press, and among the most interesting was a statement on the future of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Putin predicted at a moment things are going very badly for Ukrainian forces, and at a rare time Western media seems to be turning on Zelensky, that the Ukrainian leader will soon be replaced over his poor and unpopular decision-making. Putin suggested Washington is essentially going to make him a scapegoat.

"In the West, they simply do not want to replace him [Zelenskyy], the time is not right. I think it's obvious to anyone. They will blame all unpopular decisions on him, including lowering the [military] draft age, and that's it," Putin asserted, according to Russian media translation.

That's when he followed with: "And then they'll replace him. I think it will happen sometime in the first half of next year."

Official US government data, “gold standard data,” shows that the vaccine didn’t save any COVID lives at all. None.

In fact, if anything, the data shows that the vaccine made you more likely to die from COVID.

To the estimated 21 million people who were killed or seriously injured, you should know it was all for nothing.

Yesterday I was invited to talk on an afternoon news show about the June 18, 2024 Senate Homeland Security Committee’s hearing on the ORIGINS OF COVID-19: AN EXAMINATION OF AVAILABLE EVIDENCE.

When I accepted the invitation, I figured the hearing’s expert witnesses would provide cover for the U.S. government’s lie that the true origin will never be determined because (of the lie that) its origin remains ambiguous, or because (of the lie that) the Chinese—to whom the U.S. government authorized the transfer American biotechnology—refuse to cooperate with the investigation.

I was therefore pleasantly surprised to see that two of the witnesses—Professor Richard Ebright (PH.D. Rutgers University) and Stephen Quay (M.D., PH.D., former Faculty Stanford University School of Medicine) presented highly persuasive arguments that SARS-COV-2 was the creation of American scientists working with partners at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV).

As readers of this Substack are aware, we have known this for years, and have often marveled at just how long the U.S. government and mainstream media have been able to maintain the preposterous charade that we don’t know this.

Especially powerful was the testimony of Dr. Stephen Quay. Especially bizarre was the spectacle of Tulane University Professor Robert Garry persisting in making himself ridiculous.

In a surprising twist, car prices are experiencing a dramatic shift. After years of seemingly endless climbs, prices are now plummeting at an alarming rate. Here are some key points: New Vehicle Prices: Industry analysts report that the average price of a new vehicle has dropped by nearly 20% year-over-year. This decline is a welcome relief for consumers who have long grappled with high prices.

The leader of Hezbollah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, warned of a war “without rules or ceilings” in the event of a full-scale Israeli offensive against the Lebanese militia, as he threatened that Cyprus could become a target if it allowed Israel to use its territory in any conflict.

Cyprus and Israel have a bilateral defence cooperation agreement which has seen the countries conduct joint exercises.

“Opening Cypriot airports and bases to the Israeli enemy to target Lebanon would mean that the Cypriot government is part of the war, and the resistance will deal with it as part of the war,” the Hezbollah chief said.

Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey announced on Thursday that his office will be suing the state of New York for its “lawfare against former President Donald Trump.”

“I will be filing suit against the State of New York for their direct attack on our democratic process through unconstitutional lawfare against President Trump. It’s time to restore the rule of law,” Bailey wrote on X.

“We have to fight back against a rogue prosecutor who is trying to take a presidential candidate off the campaign trail. It sabotages Missourians’ right to a free and fair election,” he added.

A federal appeals court late on June 20 denied Steve Bannon’s emergency request to delay his prison sentence.

In a split ruling, a panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit said that Mr. Bannon’s request “does not warrant a departure from the general rule that a defendant ’shall ... be detained' following conviction and imposition of a sentence of imprisonment.”

Mr. Bannon, 70, who was an adviser to President Donald Trump, was convicted of contempt of Congress and sentenced to four months in prison.

He had been allowed to remain free pending an appeal, but after the appeals court in May rejected his appeal, the judge recently ordered him to report to prison on July 1.

Defendants can remain free if they raise a “substantial question of law or fact likely to result in reversal [or] an order for a new trial” and Mr. Bannon had done that, U.S. District Judge Carl Nichols said previously. However, in light of the appeals court ruling, that was no longer the case, Judge Nichols said on June 6.

He gave Mr. Bannon leave to seek a stay of his order, which, if granted, would delay the prison sentence.

China's Ministry of Commerce has expressed concerns that the European Union's ongoing intensification of trade disputes could potentially lead to a "trade war."

The European Commission recently suggested imposing tariffs as high as 38.1% on electric vehicle (EV) imports from China, a move that has sparked objections from Beijing. The decision has strained trade relations, raising the prospect of of retaliatory measures from China, the world's second-largest economy.

"Responsibility lies entirely with the EU side," a Chinese ministry spokesperson said in a statement on Friday.

The spokesperson expressed Beijing’s desire for the EU to engage in dialogue and find a middle ground to address differences, to prevent trade friction from escalating or spiraling out of control.

The bill was sponsored by Republican state Rep. Laurin Hendrix and Republican state Sen. T.J. Shope. While the practice of human composting remains controversial, the method is gaining popularity as an alternative to traditional funerals.

According to the National Funeral Directors Association, over half of Americans polled expressed interest in “green” funeral practices.

A Colorado man told police an intruder broke into his Commerce City residence after midnight Sunday and severely beat him — so the victim grabbed a gun and shot the intruder dead, KDVR-TV reported. Commerce City is about 20 minutes northeast of Denver.

The incident took place around 2:45 a.m. in the 5300 block of East 64th Avenue, the station said. Police noted in a previous KDVR story that the resident said he was “attacked by an unknown intruder."

'If it's an open-and-shut case of an armed homeowner shooting an intruder, they're probably not going to file charges against the homeowner, and you know, beware to all burglars.'

Detective Sgt. Derek Aragon told the station the resident initially said he was pistol whipped. Indeed, KDVR reported that the resident was seriously injured and had to be hospitalized.

House Republicans are pushing a new bill that seeks to stop Democrats from using congressional subpoenas to attack allies of President Donald Trump.

The new House GOP-led effort aims to revoke subpoenas that the Democrats’ anti-Trump House select committee on Jan. 6 sent to key aides of the 45th president.

On Tuesday, Reps. Andy Biggs (R-AZ), Thomas Massie (R-KY), and Eric Burlison (R-MO) introduced the resolution.

It would rescind subpoenas that the now-defunct Jan. 6 committee sent to Steve Bannon, Mark Meadows, Peter Navarro, and Dan Scavino.

It would also withdraw the contempt of Congress resolutions filed against each individual over his defiance of those subpoenas.

President Donald Trump’s “gag order” is an “election interference” tool that violates the rights of the 45th POTUS and the American people, experts are warning.

Despite Trump’s “hush money” trail now being over, he still can’t speak freely about what happened there, even as next week’s first presidential debate approaches.

As Slay News reported, New York’s highest court declined Tuesday to take up Trump’s appeal.

Meanwhile, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office insists the gag order is needed through sentencing.

However, keeping a gag order in place after conviction is exceedingly uncommon, legal experts told the Daily Caller.

They note that there is a strong case to be made that doing so violates Trump’s civil rights, especially when there was never much justification for issuing one at all.

Democrats in Maine have stepped in and shut down an investigation by Republican lawmakers into the state’s spike in excess deaths.

Republican State Rep. Heidi Sampson (R-Alfred) is raising the alarm over Maine’s surging excess deaths.

Sampson warns that the state has suffered an alarming “silent epidemic.”

She revealed that data shows that excess deaths are now 18% higher than they were in 2020.

Specifically, the state has seen a surge in sudden deaths among young and middle-aged adults with no known previous illness.

However, Sampson revealed that the state’s Democrat lawmakers “shrugged their shoulders” when she proposed investigating the deaths.

One of the world’s most revered cardiologists has just raised the alarm after uncovering bombshell data showing that Covid mRNA shots have caused a staggering 112,000% increase in brain clots.

A newly-published study by a team of experts, led by American cardiologist Dr. Peter McCullough, analyzed all reports of cerebral thromboembolism over the past 34 years.

According to Johns Hopkins Medicine, cerebral thromboembolism occurs when a blood clot forms in the brain’s venous sinuses.

This prevents blood from draining out of the brain.

This chain of events is part of a stroke that can damage the brain and central nervous system and cause sudden death.

Salvador Villalba Flores — who was to take office in October in Copala, a town of about 4,000 residents about 80 miles southeast of Acapulco — was shot dead while traveling on a highway, prosecutors in Guerrero state said in a statement.

Prosecutors said that they had launched an investigation into the murder, but declined to provide further details.

Like all Americans, I was taught that the U.S. dropped nuclear bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in order to end WWII and save both American and Japanese lives.

But most of the top American military officials at the time said otherwise.

The U.S. Strategic Bombing Survey group, assigned by President Truman to study the air attacks on Japan, produced a report in July of 1946 that concluded (52-56):

Based on a detailed investigation of all the facts and supported by the testimony of the surviving Japanese leaders involved, it is the Survey’s opinion that certainly prior to 31 December 1945 and in all probability prior to 1 November 1945, Japan would have surrendered even if the atomic bombs had not been dropped, even if Russia had not entered the war, and even if no invasion had been planned or contemplated.

General (and later president) Dwight Eisenhower – then Supreme Commander of all Allied Forces, and the officer who created most of America’s WWII military plans for Europe and Japan – said:

The Japanese were ready to surrender and it wasn’t necessary to hit them with that awful thing.

Shortly after midnight, several masked men in boats began removing orange navigational aids on the Narva River that separates Estonia from Russia — a watercourse which demarcates the extent of NATO’s reach.

Even that late in the day it’s twilight in northern Europe at the end of May, leaving the Russian border guards who were working to lift the markers clearly visible to the watching Estonian authorities.

Then again, Russia’s actions in the early hours of May 23 weren’t necessarily meant to be conducted under cover of darkness; Estonia took it as an explicit signal of intent to the Baltic states and the West more broadly.

It is a terrifying showdown, an epic moment of truth that threatens to blow up the EU, trigger another Eurozone crisis and, just three days into his prime ministership, throw Sir Keir Starmer’s immigration and trade plans into disarray. In two weeks’ time, France will have either elected the most radical Right-wing populist government ever to control a nuclear power, opted for a rabidly anti-capitalist, anti-Western, far-Left coalition, or proved itself to be entirely ungovernable.

The centre won’t hold. In extremis, President Emmanuel Macron may even have to resign. Chaos could overshadow the Olympics. I fear for the France I love, but above all I am angry at decades of failure by an arrogant, pseudo-meritocratic, overly Cartesian ruling class whose hatred of classical liberalism and disdain for conservative values are forcing the country into such an unpalatable choice.

The election’s impact will be explosive. Macron has bequeathed a 5.5 per cent of GDP budget deficit and a 110 per cent of GDP national debt. These have already led to the country’s credit rating being downgraded and to the EU launching an investigation for breach of the stability and growth pact. French bond yields are surging in anticipation of drastic fiscal loosening whoever wins the election, potentially leading to a full-on financial crisis.

Thousands of homeowners face the risk of losing their homes due to “zombie mortgages” bought by companies — with some forcing foreclosures without their knowledge, according to a shocking report..

Many of the stunned homeowners took out second mortgages during the subprime lending housing bubble between 2004 and 2008 that they believed were written off — only to learn the mortgages have come back to haunt them.

An investigation by NPR found at least 10,000 old second mortgages that foreclosure activity had been initiated on in just the last two years.

The defense contractor Anduril Inudstries’s Roadrunner-M doesn’t resemble any air defense system you've seen before. It waits for its target inside a box the size of a large refrigerator. The box opens when it receives the launch command, its pair of jet engines ignite, and it takes off vertically toward its target.

If it misses and there are no other targets, it can return to the box, maneuver to a vertical position, and, like Elon Musk's SpaceX Falcon 9 missile, deploy landing legs and glide slowly to the ground, ready for reuse.

Within five years of a new program created to prevent the deportation of minors brought into the country illegally by their parents, nearly 80,000 were released into the U.S. with arrest records.

The majority of these individuals were between the ages of 19 and 22 when arrested, according to the latest data published by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). This comes as President Joe Biden announced an expansion of deportation protections and job opportunities for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program recipients on Tuesday, marking the 12-year anniversary of the program initiated by former President Barack Obama in 2012.

DACA applies to those brought into the U.S. before age 16 and under age 31 as of June 15, 2012, among other criteria. Despite a federal judge ruling the program illegal twice, and ongoing legal battles led by Texas and other states to end DACA, it continues to provide benefits to many.
