Here’s a thought.

What if the kids are all right?

New polling shows young voters in the US are shrugging off their habit of voting left and actually thinking of voting Republican in November.

In almost equal numbers to their Democrat-voting contemporaries.

All this despite the daily diet of Democrats trying to throw everything at young voters to woo them.

Anyone who gets daily messages in their inbox from the Biden- Harris campaign will know how hard they are trying to make voting Democrat “cool” to young voters.

In the past few days alone this has included “direct messages” from George Clooney, Julia Roberts and — er — Jimmy Kimmel.

Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) said in an interview that he sees a clear need for measures to boost participation. “I like the idea of national service. And I’m not talking about in wartime,” he said, calling for more Americans to put “some skin in the game.” Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) suggested that military recruiters need more leeway to work in the country’s public schools and said, “I will take no option off the table” when it comes to addressing the shortfalls, including compulsory service. Trump’s last defense secretary wants all public high school students to take the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB).

The lead-up to the 2024 presidential election started with a wide field of Republican candidates vying for the GOP nomination. As the odds turned against the primary candidates, each dropped out until only one was left standing.

Democrats set up their primary so that the odds were blatantly stacked in favor of the incumbent. Joe Biden didn’t have to miss a single nap to garner the presumptive nomination for his party.

Former President Donald Trump has been forced to beat the odds at every stage of his campaign run to retake the White House. Trump may not play the slots when he walks through a casino, but he knows how to work the odds in politics. And his odds are looking strong heading into election day in November.

From The Washington Examiner:
The odds that former President Donald Trump will win back the White House have increased to a record high of 58%, according to political oddsmaker SportsHandle.

In the West, and beyond, pressure groups operating under the banner of “human rights non-governmental organizations” (NGOs) have become key actors in disseminating war propaganda, intimidating academics, and corrupting civil society. These outfits act as gatekeepers determining which voices should be elevated and which should be censored and canceled.

Civil society is imperative to balance the power of the state, but governments are increasingly seeking to hijack it through NGOs they fund. They can enable a loud minority to override a silent majority.

In the 1980s, the Reagan doctrine exacerbated the problem as these “human rights NGOs” were financed by the government and staffed by people with ties to intelligence agencies, to ensure civil society won’t deviate significantly from government policies.

One of Russia’s top security officials called on Thursday for Russians to mobilize to inflict “maximum harm” on Western societies and infrastructure as payback for increasingly tough sanctions being imposed on Moscow by the U.S. and its allies.

The statement by Dmitry Medvedev, deputy chairman of Russia’s Security Council and Vladimir Putin’s predecessor as president, came as the West sharply escalated sanctions on Moscow in efforts to degrade its ability to wage war in Ukraine.

“We need to (respond). Not only the authorities, the state, but all our people in general. After all, they – the U.S. and its crappy allies – have declared a war on us without rules!,” Medvedev wrote on his official Telegram channel, which has over 1.3 million followers.

Caitlin Clark was asked about her name being "weaponized" and allegedly used to spread hateful beliefs in a recent media availability.

Two reporters from outlet the Athletic asked the WNBA star about the "culture war" and whether she's upset by her name allegedly being used to promote racism.

First, reporter Jim Trotter decided ask the player about her name being "weaponized in non-sports topics."

"I wonder from your standpoint how you feel about people using your name in whatever culture war they're fighting," Trotter asked.

"It's not something I can control, so I don't put too much thought and time into thinking about things like that, and to be honest, I don't see a lot of it. Like I've said, basketball is my job," Clark responded.

"Everything on the outside, I can't control that, so I'm not gonna spend time thinking about that. People can talk about what they wanna talk about, create conversations about whatever it is, but I think for myself, I'm just here to play basketball. I'm here to have fun. I'm trying to help our team win."

President Vladimir Putin said on Friday Russia would end the war in Ukraine only if Kyiv agreed to drop its NATO ambitions and hand over the entirety of four provinces claimed by Moscow, demands Kyiv swiftly rejected as tantamount to surrender.

On the eve of a conference in Switzerland to which Russia has not been invited, Putin set out maximalist conditions wholly at odds with the terms demanded by Ukraine, apparently reflecting Moscow's growing confidence that its forces have the upper hand in the war.

Planes believed to be Israeli struck inside Syria on Sunday, the Syrian government and an opposition group said, but the two entities differed over whether the targets belonged to the Syrian military.

The state-run Syrian Arab News Agency characterized the strikes as “a flagrant attack on Syria, targeting two safe areas in (the) Damascus countryside in Dimas and near Damascus International Airport.” There were no casualties, SANA reported.

But a London-based opposition group, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, said “warplanes believed to be Israeli” struck a “military area” in Dimas, a Damascus suburb. The airport target was an import-and-export warehouse, and it was not clear whether the warehouse contained weapons, SOHR said.

The U.S. Supreme Court on Friday invalidated a Trump-era ban on bump stocks, ruling the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives wrongly classified firearms equipped with a bump stock as machine guns.

The 6-3 opinion was authored by Justice Clarence Thomas. The court's three liberal justices, led by Justice Sonia Sotomayor, dissented.

The court ruled a semiautomatic rifle equipped with a bump stock is not a "machinegun" under federal law "because it does not fire more than one shot 'by a single function of the trigger.'"

"This case asks whether a bump stock -- an accessory for a semiautomatic rifle that allows the shooter to rapidly reengage the trigger (and therefore achieve a high rate of fire) -- converts the rifle into a 'machinegun.' We hold that it does not," Thomas wrote.

President Biden reprimanded Bloomberg’s Josh Wingrove during a rare press conference in Italy after Wingrove asked a question that shifted the topic from Ukraine to U.S. efforts in the Israel-Gaza war.

“I wish you guys would play by the rules a little bit. I’m here to talk about a critical situation in Ukraine. You’re asking another subject. I’ll be happy to answer in detail later, but the bottom line is that we made an agreement [in regard to Gaza],” Biden responded.

Now, the White House Correspondents Association has fired back at Biden saying, essentially, they can ask whichever questions they please.

“The White House Correspondents’ Association believes it is in the public interest to make clear that at a presidential press conference, at home or abroad, there are no preconditions regarding question topics,” the statement read. “While the White House does determine the number of reporters the president will recognize, it is up to professional journalists to decide what to ask.”

“If the truth about the attack on the USS Liberty isn’t told to the American public, our Republic will fall. When your own government sets you up to be murdered, this speaks to the influence the Zionist state of Israel has with our politicians. Not one president from LBJ to Biden has lifted a finger nor has the Congress.” – Phil Tourney, USS Liberty attack survivor.

Now is the best time for Americans to demand an open and honest congressional investigation of the June 8, 1967 unprovoked and deliberate attack on the USS Liberty by the Israeli military. The brutal assault that killed 34 American sailors and wounded 171 of their shipmates was then covered up by Commander-in-Chief President Lyndon B. Johnson, military leadership, and Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara.   Phillip F. Nelson, Ron... Best Price: $12.75 Buy New $10.00 (as of 07:20 UTC - Details)

Many survivors and other analysts now conclude the attack was a planned false flag intended to sink the ship and kill all aboard as a pretext to gain public support for the US to join Israel in its battle against Egypt during the Six Day War. This is when Israel captured Gaza, the West Bank and the Golan Heights.

If you mention the Israel lobby in the mainstream media you will more often than not be accused of antisemitism. There are of course people who talk about the Israel lobby in antisemitic terms, but that doesn’t negate the fact that it exists, and has existed for well over a century.

This week’s guest is Israeli historian and author Ilan Pappé, who’s new book details the origins of zionism and the struggles against it throughout the 19th and 20th centuries. He joins Aaron to discuss Harold Wilson, Labour Friends of Israel and the evangelical christian roots of Zionism.

Global powerhouse leaders, including the UK's Rishi Sunak, were set to get a group photo but a wayward Biden wandered from the shoot before being shepherded back by Italian PM Giorgia Meloni.

The allegations of alarming misconduct in the notice and suit have never made headlines— and the university hoped they never would.

After more than two years, the case was settled in March 2023 with a $12 million payment and neither Mokadam or the university admitting wrongdoing. But the university did include a confidentiality clause — also known as an NDA — a legal tool widely used by major corporations and wealthy celebrities to make  accusations go away. In this case, the agreement instructed the Hoopers “not to publicize the names or identities of the defendants” with “any description of their conduct.”

Nondisclosure agreements can keep sensitive details out of the public eye, but they have come under attack in recent years for shielding bad actors and allowing misconduct to persist. Critics say they allow prominent people to keep sexual assault allegations under wraps, for instance, and businesses to silence would-be whistleblowers. But there’s been little focus on the persistent use of NDAs to conceal allegations of wrongdoing at taxpayer-funded institutions, including public hospitals.

Federal transportation officials are investigating how titanium sold with phony documentation made its way into parts used in making Boeing and Airbus planes.

The Federal Aviation Administration and Spirit AeroSystems, a supplier of fuselages to Boeing and wings for Airbus, said Friday they are each investigating the scope and impact of the issue, which could raise potential concerns about aircraft safety. First reported by the New York Times, the problem came to light after a parts supplier found tiny holes from corrosion in the titanium, according to the newspaper.

"Boeing reported a voluntary disclosure to the FAA regarding procurement of material through a distributor who may have falsified or provided incorrect records," the agency said in a statement. "Boeing issued a bulletin outlining ways suppliers should remain alert to the potential of falsified records."

Spirit said it is working to determine the origin of the titanium and that it removed the affected parts from the company's production line for testing.

Webmaster addition: Counterfeit parts have been a big problem for the aviation industry for a long time and are even mentioned in Michael Crichton's book "Airframe."

The government's confiscation of Trump's cellphone unprecedentedly undermines the president’s immunity. In fact, Trump's Jan. 6 trial is indefinitely postponed until the Supreme Court decides on presidential immunity. The high court's ruling is expected this month and could come any day.

But there’s another underlying problem with the Justice Department’s prosecutorial scheme.

Democrats utterly dismissed the legitimacy of geotracking in "2000 Mules," the banned film documentary in which the conservative group True the Vote used the technology to showcase with precision how many times "community organizers" stuffed the ballot boxes in battleground states with illegal ballots for Democrats to systematically rig the election for Joe Biden in 2020.

True the Vote paid $2 million through commercial brokers for the cell phone "geotracking" or "geolocator" data from swing states leading up to the presidential election. Using the pinpoint precision of the forensic technique of geotracking, ballot "mules" – like "drug mules" who carry illegal drugs across the border for criminal cartels – took sacks of ballots provided by leftwing political activist organizations and repeatedly dumped those ballots in collection boxes. Over 2,000 of the tracked phones were geolocated in the immediate vicinity of 10 or more ballot drop boxes.

Do Michigan residents need permission from elected and appointed officials in Lansing, their capital city, in order to practice their religious faith?

That's the issue in dispute in a case being handled by Becket for a St. Joseph Parish, and the legal team is arguing against the idea.

The Catholic parish, helped by Becket, is challenging a state law that makes it illegal for the Catholic church and school to hire staff based on their agreement to uphold Catholic religious beliefs and practices.

Becket senior counsel William Haun got right to the point, stating, "Michiganders don’t need a permission slip from bureaucrats in Lansing to practice their religious beliefs. The court should reject this irresponsible law and let institutions like St. Joseph get back to freely serving in their schools, churches, and communities."
