Thousands of Americans turned out in the South Bronx Thursday night to support former President Donald Trump and hear how he plans to reverse the perilous trends that have begun or worsened under the Biden administration.

Despite leading with the headline, "Trump bombs the Bronx," Axios acknowledged that the "sight of Trump speaking to several thousand people in a predominantly Hispanic neighborhood in deep blue New York is a sign of the realignment happening between the two parties."

"Trump's GOP is becoming more working class and a little more multiracial," the publication noted. "Democrats are gaining with more well-educated voters in the suburbs."

Just weeks after suggesting black children in the Bronx "don't even know what the word 'computer' is," and calling a New York Supreme Court justice an "extremist" for following the law, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul concluded on CNN's "The Lead" Thursday that the constituents of this diverse crowd of working-class Americans were "clowns."

It might seem strange to read that Democrats are preparing to investigate a Supreme Court justice. The legislature’s authority over the top court, after all, is seriously limited. Justices’ lifetime appointments are designed precisely to shield them from the kinds of political pressures Congress or the president might bring to bear post-confirmation.

It might seem even stranger to see Justice Samuel Alito splashed across the top of Politico’s Playbook and the New York Times morning newsletters for the high crime and misdemeanor of flying a nerdy Revolutionary War flag.

But it is part of a deliberate strategy to try to try to combat virtually the only check remaining on the Democrat Party’s political power. While Congress and the White House cannot outright remove judges, they can bring real pressure to bear, cast national doubt on rulings, and reform the court even to the point of expanding it.

The Biden administration faces mounting criticism after invoking executive privilege to prevent the release of audio recordings from President Joe Biden’s interview with special counsel Robert Hur. The move, condemned by congressional Republicans, has sparked accusations of obstruction and political maneuvering.

The House Committees on Oversight and Accountability and Judiciary had issued subpoenas for the records, including audio recordings, related to Hur’s investigation into Biden’s handling of classified documents. However, White House Counsel Ed Siskel, in a letter to House Republicans, argued against the release, stating, “Demanding such sensitive and constitutionally-protected law enforcement materials from the Executive Branch because you want to manipulate them for potential political gain is inappropriate.”

Attorney General Garland supported the administration’s stance, asserting that the audio fell within the scope of executive privilege. Garland emphasized the Justice Department’s efforts to provide information, including a transcript of the interview, but expressed concerns that releasing the audio could compromise future investigations.

The decision has drawn sharp rebuke from Republicans, with House Speaker Mike Johnson accusing Biden of blocking the release because he “doesn’t want voters to hear him struggling mentally during an election year.” House Oversight Chairman James Comer echoed these sentiments, describing the move as a “five-alarm fire at the White House” and affirming the committee’s determination to pursue contempt charges against Garland.

This story begins back before the United States was the United States.

The original thirteen colonies printed their own currency, and it worked very well at empowering commerce and turning the young America into a powerful growing economy, free of the poverty and unemployment that even then crippled London. The public currency was operated as a public utility. But the bankers of Europe, long used to private banks issuing the public currencies as loans at interest, were horrified by the American approach and saw it as a threat to their deeply cherished religious belief that the gods intended for the bankers to have all the wealth of the world. So, the Bank of England lobbied King George III to impose the Currency Act on the colonies, which forbade the colonies to use their own money and required them to borrow their lawful tender from the Bank of England, at interest. This was the public currency as a private for-profit operation.

It took only a few years for this scheme to reduce the formerly prosperous and productive colonies down to the poverty and unemployment typical of London at the same time period, as depicted in the literature of Charles Dickens, among others.

While the state-run American schools teach that the revolution was about the Stamp act and the Tea tax, it was primarily the rage created by the enforced impoverishment of the Currency Act which fueled the rebellion. Why the Currency Act is not mentioned in the public schools will become apparent further on.

Once upon a time, in 1913, a corrupt Congress and a corrupt President transferred the money creation authority vested in the government by the Constitution to a private central bank. It was going to be called the Third Bank of the United States. Such a fundamental change to the nation's economy should have required a Constitutional Amendment. But earlier that same year, there had been a huge fight to ratify another Amendment, the 16th Amendment authorizing the income tax, and there is good reason to suspect that the 16th Amendment actually failed ratification even though the payers of that income tax were told otherwise.

"I think if you were to go back and and try to find and review the ratification of the 16th amendment, which was the internal revenue, the income tax, I think if you went back and examined that carefully, you would find that a sufficient number of states never ratified that amendment." - U.S. District Court Judge James C. Fox, Sullivan Vs. United States, 2003.

Getting yet another Amendment ratified against such opposition, or worse, having to cheat one through, would be extremely difficult.

Then there was a problem with the proposed name, "Third Bank of the United States", as it reminded people of the predations of the First and Second Bank of the United States.

"Gentlemen! I too have been a close observer of the doings of the Bank of the United States. I have had men watching you for a long time, and am convinced that you have used the funds of the bank to speculate in the breadstuffs of the country. When you won, you divided the profits amongst you, and when you lost, you charged it to the bank. You tell me that if I take the deposits from the bank and annul its charter I shall ruin ten thousand families. That may be true, gentlemen, but that is your sin! Should I let you go on, you will ruin fifty thousand families, and that would be my sin! You are a den of vipers and thieves. I have determined to rout you out, and by the Eternal, (bringing his fist down on the table) I will rout you out!" -- Andrew Jackson, shortly before ending the charter of the Second Bank of the United States. From the original minutes of the Philadelphia committee of citizens sent to meet with President Jackson (February 1834), according to Andrew Jackson and the Bank of the United States (1928) by Stan V. Henkels

Shortly after President Jackson (the only American President to actually pay off the National Debt) ended the Second Bank of the United States, there was an attempted assassination.

But I digress.

In the good old days, after George Washington and the boys won the war to free us from the bank of England's predatory and impoverishing practices, they set up a "revolutionary" economic system. The government created and issued all the public currency, spending it into circulation to purchase what the government needed, then after the currency circulated through society to fuel commerce, was taxed back to the government to balance the books.

Banks existed, of course. But they were kept off to one side, and use of the banks was optional for the people of the United States. It was possible to go through one's entire life without dealing with a bank if one chose to do so.

This system not only reserved the choice whether to use the bank to the people, but it was a stable system, because as debt increased, the people could voluntarily choose to stop borrowing from the bank! That was one of the most important freedoms won during the revolution; the freedom to say "no" to the banks!

Back in 2008, in testimony before Congress in the wake of the crash of Wall Street's mortgage-backed securities scam, former Federal Reserve Chairman Allan Greenspan made the admission that his "ideology" had a flaw.

Greenspan and the members of Congress relied heavily on euphemisms like "ideology" and spoke in vague terms to obfuscate from the American people that there are fundamental flaws in the way the US Financial system works.

The first and largest flaw in the system is the Federal Reserve itself. Not actually a part of the government (the Federal Reserve is no more "Federal" than Federal Express), the Federal Reserve is a privately owned central bank which has been given the authority by the US Congress to create money, something which under any other circumstances would be called counterfeiting. Created by act of Congress in 1913 and signed into law by President Woodrow Wilson, the Federal Reserve now exercises the power to create money originally granted to the government itself under the Constitution. It might be argued that such a dramatic reassignment of constitutional powers should have required a Constitutional Amendment, but that is a discussion for another article. What is germane is that the Federal Reserve system is unstable because by design it creates more debt than it creates money with which to pay that debt.

The following article was first written in 1998. I am relinking it here not so much as to say "I told you so", but to point out that the long term economic future of the United States was obvious, or should have been obvious, to the people who are awarded lofty degrees and paid huge salaries to comprehend such things. Instead, the economists persisted in explaining away the visible signs of gathering troubles and earned their salaries by justifying why the policies that robbed the poor to give to the rich should continue unabated.

The House on Wednesday night advanced an $883.7 billion defense policy bill for fiscal 2025. It provides a 20% pay boost to junior enlisted troops while pushing back against the Defense Department’s shipbuilding and Air Force procurement plans.

The Armed Services Committee voted 57-1 to advance the Servicemember Quality of Life Improvement and National Defense Authorization Act to the House floor after considering more than 700 amendments during a roughly 12-hour markup. Rep. Ro Khanna, D-Calif., cast the single vote against the legislation.

The bill adheres to the spending caps from last year’s debt ceiling deal, allowing a 1% increase over the $874.2 billion FY24 defense policy bill.

“This bill is also the product of hundreds of hours of oversight done by all members and staff over the past few months,” House Armed Services Committee Chairman Mike Rogers, R-Ala., said ahead of the committee vote. “It is a good bill that will help revitalize the defense industrial base and build the ready, capable, and lethal fighting force we need to deter China and our other adversaries.”

The legislation would incrementally fund a second attack submarine for FY25 against the Pentagon’s wishes, block certain aircraft retirements and maintain restrictions on downsizing the U.S. nuclear arsenal.

The Navy, citing industrial base delays, only asked for one Virginia-class submarine for FY25 in a break from the two-per-year cadence. But the defense bill provides $1 billion toward funding for the second submarine and intends to provide additional funds for the vessel in future fiscal years.

Meanwhile, the bill would procure 58 F-35 fighter jets for FY25, 10 less than the Pentagon requested amid growing congressional frustration with manufacturer Lockheed Martin.

Rep. Seth Moulton, D-Ma., floated – then withdrew – an amendment that would have authorized the defense secretary to seize intellectual property from Lockheed Martin and open it up to competition, taking aim at the F-35′s software problems.

A coalition of House Republicans, led by Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky, has introduced a bold measure aimed at dismantling the Federal Reserve System, signaling a renewed push to overhaul the nation’s monetary policy.

The legislation, dubbed the “Federal Reserve Board Abolition Act,” proposes the elimination of both the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System and all Federal reserve banks, while also repealing the Federal Reserve Act.

Massie, in a press release, attributed the move to what he sees as the Federal Reserve’s role in exacerbating inflation and economic instability. He criticized the central bank’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, accusing it of flooding the economy with excess liquidity, thereby devaluing the dollar and fueling inflation.

President Joe Biden announced the US would make Kenya a Major non-NATO Ally (MNNA) during President William Ruto’s visit to Washington. Countries that become MNNAs receive more access to American training, weapons, and technology. In exchange for Ruto agreeing to send Kenyan forces to Haiti, Biden lavished Nairobi with an upgraded military relationship.

On Thursday, Biden informed Congress of his intent to make Kenya the 19th MNNA. “Kenya is one of the US Government’s top counterterrorism and security partners in sub-Saharan Africa,” the letter from the White House to the Capitol said. “And the designation will demonstrate that the US sees African contributions to global peace and security as equivalent to those of our Major Non-NATO Allies in other regions.”

Becoming a MMA will significantly upgrade Kenya’s military ties with the US. Nairobi will get access to advanced US weapons, training, and technology. The arms include depleted uranium anti-tank ammunition.

Hungary is reevaluating its role in NATO, as it has no intention to take part in actions that could involve member states in the Ukraine conflict and lead to a direct clash with Russia, Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on Friday.

Speaking on local Kossuth Radio, Orban stated that his country has already been relegated to the role of a non-participant within the US-led military bloc due to its stance on Ukraine, and Budapest is now working on legal ways to retain its membership but reserve the right to abstain from joining NATO operations it disagrees with.

“Hungary’s position must be redefined, our lawyers and officials are working on ways to allow Hungary to continue to exist as a NATO member without participating in NATO activities outside the bloc’s territory. We need to create a new approach, a new definition for our position as a pro-peace force within NATO,” Orban said.

Yes, the number of deaths in Gaza in the last seven months is staggering. At least, 35,000 Gazans have reportedly perished, including significant numbers of children (and that’s without even counting the possibly 10,000 unidentified bodies still buried under the rubble that now litters that 25-mile-long stretch of land). But shocking as that might be (and it is shocking!), it begins to look almost modest when compared to the numbers of civilians slaughtered in America’s never-ending Global War on Terror that began in the wake of the 9/11 attacks and, as Nick Turse has reported in his coverage of Africa, never really ended.

In fact, the invaluable Costs of War project put the direct civilian death toll in those wars at 186,694 to 210,038 in Iraq, 46,319 in Afghanistan, 24,099 in Pakistan, and 12,690 in Yemen, among other places. And don’t forget, as that project also reports, that there could have been an estimated 3.6 to 3.8 million (yes, million!) “indirect deaths” resulting from the devastation caused by those wars, which lasted endless years – 20 alone for the Afghan one – in South Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.

Today, Nick Turse reports on how the Pentagon has largely avoided significant responsibility for civilian deaths from its never-ending air wars, not to speak of failing to compensate the innocent victims of those strikes. The civilian death toll in this country’s twenty-first-century conflicts is, in fact, a subject he’s long focused on at TomDispatch in a devastating fashion. In 2007, he was already reporting on how the U.S. military was quite literally discussing “hunting” the “enemy.” (“From the commander-in-chief to low-ranking snipers, a language of dehumanization that includes the idea of hunting humans as if they were animals has crept into our world – unnoticed and unnoted in the mainstream media.”) And when it comes to the subject of killing civilians without any significant acknowledgment or ever having to say you’re sorry, he’s never stopped. ~ Tom Engelhardt

Responding to the International Court of Justice’s order demanding it halt Rafah operations to endanger Palestinian civilians, Israeli politicians accuse the tribunal of antisemitism and support for terrorism.

“There should only be one answer to the irrelevant order of the antisemitic court in The Hague: the occupation of Rafah, the increase of military pressure and the complete defeat of Hamas,” tweets National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir. “Our future does not depend on what the gentiles will say, but on what the Jews will do,” he adds, quoting Israel’s first Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion.

Had this “antisemitic court” been active during the Holocaust, “it would undoubtedly have issued orders against the Allies,” declares Negev, Galilee and National Resilience Minister Yitzhak Wasserlauf who is in Ben Gvir’s party.

“Those who demand that the State of Israel stop the war, demand that it decree the cessation of its existence — we will not agree to that,” argues Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich. “We will continue to fight for ourselves and for the entire free world. History will judge who today stood by the Nazis of Hamas and ISIS.”

Judging by developments over the past several weeks, it would appear that nothing going on in Washington matters quite as much as defending Israel no matter what the Jewish state does. The White House and its befuddled leader President Joe Biden are obsessed with every twist and turn of the Israel and media shaped narrative, basing it on two key words “terrorism” and “antisemitism.” It plays out like this: Israel is a victim of terrorism from enemies seeking to destroy it and those who criticize the Israeli “self-defense” response are motivated by nothing less than antisemitism. It is also being claimed ludicrously in Washington that Israel is fully capable of investigating itself if war crimes actually were committed, something that it never has done, note particularly the lack of any follow-up in cases involving the recent killing of American citizens.

The necessity to support what are obviously parts of a suspect exculpatory narrative has administration clowns like Karine Jean-Pierre, Matthew Miller, John Kirby and Antony Blinken falling over themselves trying to explain developments using arguments which are frequently clearly based on lies. Sometimes the lies are huge, like the Blinken claims that the US foreign policy does not favor Israel and treats everyone the same, or that a thorough State Department investigation has failed to sustain the claims that Israel is engaging in war crimes to possibly include genocide.

In a desperate attempt to stave off a humiliating defeat in Ukraine, “Secretary of State Antony Blinken has reportedly asked President Biden to greenlight Ukrainian missile strikes on targets deep inside Russia.” The change in policy will have no material impact on the ongoing ground war in Ukraine, although it could trigger a response that would put NATO in direct conflict with Moscow. In short, Washington’s looming defeat in Ukraine has compelled administration decisionmakers to implement a strategy that could precipitate a Third World War. This is from the New York Times:

Since the first American shipments of sophisticated weapons to Ukraine, President Biden has never wavered on one prohibition: President Volodymyr Zelensky had to agree to never fire them into Russian territory, insisting that would violate Mr. Biden’s mandate to “avoid World War III.”

But the consensus around that policy is fraying. Propelled by the State Department, there is now a vigorous debate inside the administration over relaxing the ban to allow the Ukrainians to hit missile and artillery launch sites just over the border in Russia — targets that Mr. Zelensky says have enabled Moscow’s recent territorial gains….

Russia's Vladimir Putin is ready to halt the war in Ukraine if a negotiated ceasefire that recognises the current battlefield lines can be agreed, Russian sources claim.

Three of the sources, familiar with discussions in Putin's entourage, told Reuters the veteran Russian leader had expressed frustration to a small group of advisers about what he views as Western-backed attempts to stymie negotiations and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's decision to rule out talks.

'Putin can fight for as long as it takes, but Putin is also ready for a ceasefire to freeze the war,' said another of the insiders, a senior Russian source who has worked with Putin and has knowledge of top level conversations in the Kremlin.

He, like the others cited in this story, spoke on condition of anonymity given the matter's sensitivity.

Vladimir Putin has, in the last few hours, apparently once again reiterated he is ready to authorise talks with the aim of arriving at a settlement with Ukraine that once more brings peace.

Putin, in my opinion, is doing something eminently sensible.

I believe he knows that new elections will be held in Ukraine once a peace settlement is agreed and that these will lead ultimately to renewed peace. Those elections, he knows, will bring to power Ukrainian politicians seeking permanent peace with Russia and with it, permanent neutrality. The Ukrainian people, heartily sick of the war, will certainly wish an end to the possibility of future war. They will thus vote in political representatives who also hold this view.

Russia is already renewing the infrastructure in the lands that have become part of the Russian Federation since February 24th 2022, and is bringing to the people there all the many social, financial and health benefits that all citizens of the Russian Federation enjoy. The people in the new regions will prosper and Ukrainians seeking work will migrate there and it is inevitable too that trade between Ukraine and Russian will recommence in even greater measure than before.

After a spate of similar Gladio-style black ops, the recent assassination attempt on the Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico proves that the liberal wing of the NWO globalist cabal is out for blood as never before.

As always, the end goal of these highly politically disruptive and violent events is to trigger a color revolution in the nation targeted by NATO and the Western Intel Community.

Slovakia faces ‘civil war’ – Interior Minister

As for the established pattern of these assassinations and attempts, one need look no further than the stabbing of presidential candidate Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro in 2018.  Known as the Brazil’s Trump, the purpose behind that hit ought to painfully obvious to every conservative in the world by now.

New York prosecutor Alvin Bragg’s key witness against Trump is Michael Cohen. The former Trump lawyer has long accused him of committing a crime. Cohen claimed that Trump broke the law by falsifying business records.

Yet legal experts have declared Cohen did more damage to the prosecution. His tarnished reputation and questionable claims could have undermined Democrats’ case against the former president.

Cohen even admitted during the trial that he stole tens of thousands of dollars from Trump. He might have even lied under oath about several key details. Now, it looks like House Republicans are fed up with this guy. And they are bombarding the DOJ with demands.

From The Post Millennial:
In a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland on Wednesday, House Majority Whip Tom Emmer urged the Department of Justice leader to take “immediate action” on the criminal referrals issued by congressional committees for former Trump attorney Michael Cohen…

[Cohen] “been referred to the US Department of Justice (DOJ) on at least three separate occasions by Republicans on the House” Oversight and Judiciary Committees and the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence “for committing perjury and knowingly making false statements during his testimony at a Congressional hearing and deposition.”

It seems progressives stir up protests, now, every election year. Perhaps they hope to fearmonger voters into backing the candidate of their choice, through dangerous demonstrations and even rioting.

This year, the progressive left has chosen a losing battle to fight. Far-left Democrats are protesting U.S. ally Israel and its war against Hamas.

But progressives aren’t targeting Republicans in their fight to get America to abandon the one Jewish state in the world. They are becoming increasingly hostile to Democrats. Now, they are taking their fight all the way to the top. And they just gave one of Biden’s top officials a very bad day.

President Joe Biden's new advisor for migration is a foreign-born advocate of open borders, a classic case of the fox guarding the henhouse.

The National Pulse named this new advisor as Marcela Escobari, currently assistant administrator for Latin America and the Caribbean at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). The international development specialist born in the city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra in Bolivia is unlikely to advance or support any measures to seriously stem the flow of migrants into the U.S., according to the outlet.

Escobari's stint at USAID was her second, as she had previously served in the same capacity under former President Barack Obama from May 2016 to January 2017. Biden then nominated her in 2021 for the same posting, with the Senate confirming her appointment in December of that year. Escobari assumed the position in January 2022, and has been there since.

But two insider sources familiar with the matter told Axios that Biden brought in Escobari to be part of the National Security Council (NSC). According to the outlet, the USAID official will serve as the NSC's coordinator for the Los Angeles Declaration, a 2022 pledge among 21 governments in the Americas to work together on migration.
