"The most dangerous man to any government is the man who is able to think things out for himself, without regard to the prevailing superstitions and taboos. Almost inevitably he comes to the conclusion that the government he lives under is dishonest, insane and intolerable." -- H.L. Mencken

Let’s dive into the world of commercial real estate (CRE) loans and their current situation. CRE Loan Maturities in 2024: A Ballooning Challenge The portion of the $4.7 trillion in US commercial real estate debt that will come due this year has ballooned from $659 billion to $929 billion. These loans must be paid off through a sale, refinanced, or extended to avoid default. Many loans that were supposed to mature in 2023 were not paid off. Instead, they were modified and extended into 2024 or even further into the future. This situation has lenders and landlords negotiating deals with each other.

Last week, the weather was pleasant and often balmy across the U.K., and to take full advantage of the gently rising warmth, there was no better place to be than Heathrow Airport. This was the spot where the hottest day U.K. record was secured on no less than five occasions. Further north, heat lovers could have headed for Hull East Park, where the Yorkshire and Humber regional day record was observed no less than four times. Of course, heat lovers might welcome the hot air blast from countless jet engines in the first location and the presence of what appears to be a solar farm located a few metres from the measuring station in the later venue. They certainly don’t appear to be much of a problem for the Met Office either, which compiles these ridiculous figures and claims seemingly for Net Zero political purposes.

Skaneateles, a company Hunter Biden founded with a ten percent stake in BHR Partners, still holds a ten percent interest in the company despite claims to the contrary, according to Chinese business records.

Hunter Biden “no longer holds any interest, directly or indirectly in either BHR or Skaneateles,” Hunter’s lawyer Chris Clark claimed in November to the New York Times.

But Chinese business records contradict Clark’s claim. “Chinese site Qixin says the latest filing comes from BHR itself and that it was filed last month,” the Washington Examiner reported. “The 2021 annual report by BHR has an ‘announcement date’ of June 20. Skaneateles is still listed as a ‘shareholder’ with a 10% stake.”

China’s business registry may not have been changed to reflect Hunter’s vacated interest. But with Hunter’s global profile as the United States president’s son, the omission seems unlikely.

“Trump is scheduled to be sentenced July 11. He has said he will appeal the guilty verdict, which would go to a higher New York court. The U.S. Supreme Court is already weighing a separate case in which the former president has argued he should be immune from prosecution over his actions after the 2020 election, when he tried to subvert the results,” the outlet added.

“If the conservative-majority court agrees with Trump on that case, many of his other pending criminal indictments could unwind. Even if the court does not go that far, its decision could delay actions in several of Trump’s cases beyond the November election,” The Hill continued.

Special Counsel Jack Smith’s office has once more asked a federal judge to impose a gag order on former President Donald Trump in his classified records case. They argue that new evidence, which includes an alleged threat against an FBI agent, justifies their request.

In a June 21 court filing, Special Counsel Jack Smith urged U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon to approve his earlier request for a gag order.

Smith argued that new evidence supports his case, citing an alleged threat by a Trump supporter against an FBI agent. He claimed this incident demonstrates that former President Trump’s comments about law enforcement officials pose an imminent danger.

Morale is plummeting in the viper’s nest that passes for the Washington Post newsroom.

Not because readers are deserting the paper in droves. Not because the newspaper lost $77 million last year. The oh-so-ethical journalists of the WaPo couldn’t care less about such trivialities. They’re too busy finding ways to cover up Joe Biden’s corruption or swallowing new Deep State lies about Donald Trump’s “existential threat to democracy.”

They’re just upset that the paper’s owner, Amazon mogul Jeff Bezos, wants to stem the bleeding and has installed new management to carry out his wishes.

The new CEO is an energetic Brit named Will Lewis, with impressive runs on the journalistic leadership board on both sides of the Atlantic. He was previously publisher at The Wall Street Journal, on the board of The Associated Press, editor of London’s Telegraph and an investigative reporter for the Financial Times. Not good enough for WaPo’s paragons of elite journalism.

“We are losing large amounts of money,” Lewis told the newsroom earlier this month.

In a significant escalation of accusations, Russian officials blamed the United States for providing the missiles used in a deadly Ukrainian strike on Sevastopol in Crimea, resulting in six fatalities and over 100 injuries.

On Sunday, Ukrainian drone and missile attacks targeted several areas, with the port city of Sevastopol experiencing severe casualties. Among the dead were five individuals, including two children, struck by debris from intercepted missiles. The sixth casualty occurred in Grayvoron city, situated in Russia’s Belgorod region, which borders Ukraine.

Mikhail Razvozhayev, Sevastopol’s Moscow-appointed governor, reported extensive damage, including a forest fire and a residential building set alight by falling rocket fragments. He announced a day of mourning on Monday, canceling all public events in response to the tragedy.

Dr. Anthony Fauci is still getting a taxpayer-funded security detail and SUV, despite retiring from his $480,000-a-year government job 18 months ago.

Now a top Republican has accused the former White House COVID advisor of trying to get 'sympathy' by claiming extremists want to kill him and he is the target of death threats.

During the publicity tour to promote his new book, 83-year-old Fauci recently said he is scared 'deep down, that there's a possibility that somebody's gonna kill me.'

But that is just a strategy to 'develop empathy and sympathy' and paint 'Republicans as creating this danger,' Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., told DailyMail.com in an exclusive interview.

Fauci, who has an estimated $11 million net worth, is constantly surrounded by US Marshals whether he is at home or going to TV studios to film interviews.

The death toll from the Sunday terror attack on the Dagestan cities of Derbent and Makhachkala in southern Russia has risen significantly, now that further details have emerged of the religiously-inspired attack which targeted Orthodox churches and a synagogue, apparently by black-clad jihadists.

Russia’s Investigative Committee and state media announced Monday that 20 people died, including at least 15 police officers and an Orthodox priest, making it one of the biggest terror attacks in this region of the north Caucuses in decades. An additional 46 were injured.

The Ukrainian military launched several US-made ATACMS long-range missiles armed with highly controversial cluster munitions on Russia’s Crimea on Sunday, resulting in numerous civilian casualties, the Defense Ministry in Moscow has said.

The strike was first reported by Sevastopol Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev. He said that the attack killed at least three people, including two children. The death toll later rose to four. According to Russia’s Health Ministry, 124 people were injured, including 27 children.

The Russian Defense Ministry has confirmed the Ukrainian attack, which it said took place at around noon local time. Officials said that the shelling involved five ATACMS missiles, four of which were destroyed mid-air.

Brigadier General Kioumars Heydari discussed the potential for a widespread war with the Resistance Front, as suggested by some Israeli officials.

He reaffirmed the strong capabilities of the Resistance Front. "Should the Zionist regime launch an attack on Lebanon and initiate a broad conflict with Hezbollah, the Axis of Resistance will not remain passive. A harsh and decisive response will be delivered to counter the Zionists' malice," he declared.

Heydari emphasized that the dynamics in the West Asia region have significantly shifted following Operation True Promise.

"Operation True Promise has altered many old strategic formulas, leading to a new reality in the region," Heydari said. He highlighted that Iran, emerging as a significant power in the region, showcased its military prowess through missile strikes on positions held by the "vile Zionist regime" in the occupied territories.

On April, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) launched extensive missile and drone strikes on the Israeli-occupied territories. The retaliatory strikes, dubbed Operation True Promise, inflicted damage on Israeli military bases across the occupied lands. The operation came after the Israeli attack on April 1 against the Iranian consulate in Damascus, located next to the embassy building in Damascus’s Mezzeh district.

The military media of Hezbollah has published a new video showing vital Israeli targets “known only to the Israeli security system”.

This was released as Israeli officials are making threats to launch a full-fledged war on Lebanon although military experts say the Israeli occupation regime does not have the capability or manpower of doing so against a formidable Lebanese force.

The new video included a segment from a speech by Hezbollah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah on Wednesday in which he warned the occupation regime that the Lebanese resistance would fight “without constraints, rules, or limits” if war were imposed on Lebanon.

He emphasized that those contemplating war against Lebanon would regret it.

Nasrallah’s words in the new clip were accompanied by translations into English and Hebrew, while the video displayed coordinates, both longitude and latitude for the targets presented without naming them.

Before the video was aired Hezbollah’s military media published a statement saying: “Stay tuned… for those concerned.”

According to reliable sources cited by regional media, the video was intentionally vague, with no specific targets identified. The sources explained that it was a message understood only by decision-makers and relevant circles in Israel.

The Pentagon has refused to comment on the deadly Ukrainian cluster munition attack on a crowded beach in Sevastopol, Russia on Sunday, RIA Novosti has reported. The Ukrainian attack carried out with US-supplied ATACMS missiles killed at least four people, among them two children, and injured 151, according to local officials.

Four missiles were intercepted by air defenses, while a fifth deviated from its trajectory and detonated its cluster warhead over the busy Black Sea beach, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement on Sunday.

When RIA asked the Pentagon about the use of US supplied weapons in the strike on Sunday, an official replied, “we have seen the reports and have nothing to say.”

A federal appeals court has ruled against the Biden administration’s initial Title IX guidance that was announced in 2021. The controversial guidance sought to include sexual orientation and gender identity under Title IX's protections and penalize schools that bar transgender-identifying students from using the bathrooms or participating in sports based on their gender identity. In other words, the provisions in Title IX that allowed for protections and set-asides on the basis of biological sex were made to be extended to gender identity, as well.

After the Biden administration announced these revised guidelines, 20 Republican-led states challenged the decision by filing a lawsuit against the Department of Education, the Department of Justice, and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in federal court. Most of these states had pre-existing bans that prevented transgender-identifying athletes from competing on school teams that align with their gender identity rather than their biological sex. The 6th Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a preliminary injunction against the guidance on June 14, siding with the 20 states that brought the case forward.
