“The politics of the destruction of the gas-line – whether it’s an act of war or what – but it was a slap in the face of Europe, saying, you know, “if you’re not going to play ball with me in Ukraine,” said the president… “I don’t care if it’s going to be harder for you to keep your people wealthy and warm.” Basically, that’s what he’s done. And that’s the real input of the story.” -- Seymour Hersh

The midlife overhaul and refueling for aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis (CVN-74) will now take about five and a half years to complete – an extension of almost 14 months, according to Navy Fiscal Year 2025 budget documents.
Stennis began the refueling and complex overhaul in 2021 and was due to finish the massive, multi-billion overhaul by August 2025. However, that date was pushed to the right by more than a year to October 2026, according to the Fiscal Year 2025 budget documents released earlier this year.

Speaking to USNI News on Monday, program executive officer carriers Rear. Adm. Casey Moten said the delays are due to the workforce and material shortfalls that stretched out the delivery of USS George Washington (CVN-73), which were made worse by the restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

George Washington was at the Newport News yard for almost six years before completing the RCOH with the sailors working in the shipyard subject to some of the toughest conditions in the military, according to a 2023 Navy investigation following the deaths by suicide of several sailors assigned to the carrier.

“I don’t give a shit about no racist shit! What about my son?” Thus spoke Brandi Griffin, the mother of Arnold Marcel Hawkins, 22, who was shot dead on March 9, 2021, in what police allege was a gang-related drive-by shooting in Contra Costa, California. Hawkins was Black, as were the four defendants charged with his murder — Keyshawn McGee, Trent Allen, Eric Windom and Terryonn Pugh. The shooting, during which over 40 shots were fired from one vehicle into another, was allegedly part of a long-running feud between two East Bay gangs, and the arrests of the men were heralded by East Bay law enforcement as a meaningful step toward reducing gun and gang violence in the area. The four were part of the arrests of 48 gang members and associates during a complex, six-month investigation involving 24 agencies, for murder, attempted murder and illegal guns. The effort removed 40 firearms, including 15 “ghost guns” off the streets and over $100,000 in cash. Evidence was overwhelming and everything about the case seemed straightforward. That is, until California’s new Racial Justice Act and accusations of institutional racism became the centerpiece of the entire investigation, prompting the outburst that opens this essay.

The issue of Israelis physically blocking humanitarian aid to Gaza has been reported in the mainstream media over the past few months. In March, CNN’s Clarissa Ward reported on Israeli right-wing activists seeking to block the crossings into Gaza where humanitarian aid was being transported in with their bodies. Ward pushed back on the demonstrators’ claims that the rice bags were being filled with bullets by explaining that Gazans were dying of starvation, to no avail.

On Friday, the Biden administration issued a selective sanctioning of the primary organization blocking the aid “Tzav 9” — meaning “Order 9,” a name alluding to the Israel military reserve call-up order.

State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller commented:

“For months, individuals from Tzav 9 have repeatedly sought to thwart the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, including by blockading roads, sometimes violently, along their route from Jordan to Gaza, including in the West Bank… We will not tolerate acts of sabotage and violence targeting this essential humanitarian assistance… We will continue to use all tools at our disposal to promote accountability for those who attempt or undertake such heinous acts, and we expect and urge that Israeli authorities do the same.”

Remember that time Joe Brandon said that you would need nuclear weapons to win a fight against the US government? It’s not a statement that was true at the time, and it has not aged well. The US government offered an unconditional surrender to the Taliban, men in flip-flops with AK-47s riding around in Toyota Hiluxes.

Now, they’re in a basically unwinnable war with another group of men in flip-flops.

You could just carpet bomb Yemen, widely, and that would not stop men in tunnels from releasing drones against you.

This is a new era.

Tel Aviv has no intention of reaching a peace deal with Hamas and the onslaught in Gaza will continue in “full force” after the destruction of Rafah, according to a senior Israeli official involved in negotiations. The comments come after President Joe Biden unveiled a ceasefire proposal allegedly backed by Israel in late May.

Biden’s initial peace plan first called for a six-week pause to hostilities, during which a permanent truce would be negotiated and then implemented. Israeli officials thought the language was vague enough that the two sides could enter the first phase without Israel actually committing to a lasting ceasefire.

Hamas said it received the offer positively and offered modifications to the deal that ensured the release of Israeli hostages would lead to the end of Israeli military operations in Gaza. Additionally, the group sought assurances that Palestinians released under the agreement would not be rearrested by Israel.

Wikipedia's editors voted to declare the Anti-Defamation League "generally unreliable" on Israel and Palestine as well as the issue of antisemitism, adding the organisation to a list of banned sources, according to a report by the Jewish Telegraph Agency (JTA).

The report said that an "overwhelming majority" of Wikipedia editors voted to deem the organisation unreliable.

Middle East Eye reached out to Wikipedia for comment on the report.

The decision puts the pro-Israel organisation, which has a long history of demonising Palestine activism, in a group alongside the National Inquirer, Newsmax, TMZ, and the conspiracist website Infowars.

I was recently watching a video by some of my favorite movie commentators in which they were lamenting the apparent death of the movie theater business. They cited a long list of recent blockbuster bombs with some confusion as to why so many films were failing. In particular, they had predicted the film ‘Furiosa’ (a feminist bait and switch movie designed to replace the more popular male Mad Max character) would do relatively well. Yet, the movie bit the dust in epic fashion. They were bewildered as to why this occurred.

They posited numerous social and economic theories trying to explain why so many big budget bonanzas were losing money. They of course suggested that the covid event might have pushed people to adjust to streaming services as the better option. They noted that theaters can be more frustrating because of loud customers. They tried to apply some economic theories to the situation (these theories were overly simplistic and painful, but these guys aren’t economists so I gave them a pass).

However, when the concept of the culture war was briefly broached, they dismissed it immediately.

They acted as if it wasn’t a part of the equation at all; a mere fringe element of “click baiters” trying to make something out of nothing. The idea that people are boycotting Hollywood on principle was too much for these film critics to handle. And, I have to say, the level of delusion required to ignore the effects of the culture war is mind boggling to me. If you don’t understand the culture war, then you don’t understand a thing that’s happening in America (and many parts of Europe) today.

Users of the social media site X discovered earlier this week that whenever they upload a photo showing cars destroyed at the site of the Nova Music Festival on 7 October, a community note pops up, no matter what the post’s text says.

The note states, “This was already debunked in November last year by basically every major news source in multiple countries.”

The community note does not say what “this” refers to. However, it provides links to news stories attempting to debunk strong evidence showing that Israeli helicopters used heavy weapons, including high-caliber incendiary machine gun fire, to open fire on the festival after Hamas fighters attacked it to take Israelis captive during Operation Al-Aqsa Flood.

Many Israeli attendees at the festival were burned alive by Israeli helicopter fire, tanks, and drones during the attack under the Hannibal Directive to kill those being taken captive by Hamas from the settlements (kibbutzim) and near the Gaza border.

Realizing the community note would be added regardless of the text accompanying the photo, X users began to use the photo to create memes.

Problems with the launcher and launch sequence of the new Long Range Hypersonic Weapon System will keep the U.S. Army from fielding its first LRHW battery until fiscal 2025, a government watchdog said Monday.

The service aims to fix the problems and test the missile and launcher together no later than the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2024, according to the Government Accountability Office (GAO) report

Even a successful launch might not be the end of the Army’s worries. Service officials told the GAO that problems with missile performance in flight testing could further delay the program. They expect to have the eight missiles required for a battery ready within 11 months after a fielding decision is made, according to the GAO.

Axios, yet another arm of the Biden regime’s media machine, has dropped an article that’s raising an eyebrow or two. Many are calling it a piece of “predictive programming”—a sneak peek into a potential deep-state false flag designed to disrupt the 2024 election. Honestly, you can’t blame people for being on edge. Our three-letter intel agencies have completely lost the trust of the American public by targeting, harassing, and imprisoning political dissidents who refuse to toe the progressive line. Plus, we’ve all seen the CIA and others orchestrate plenty of “false flags” in foreign countries to meddle with their elections. It makes sense that they’d employ those same seasoned tactics right here at home, doesn’t it? The Axios piece is titled, “U.S. faces “serious threat” of a terror attack, expert and former CIA chief warn.” Is this the same former CIA chief who wrote and signed the letter claiming Hunter’s laptop was Russian disinformation?

Yeah, it’s the same guy.

A June 18 report from the Government Accountability Office U.S. congressional watchdog has confirmed that modernisation of the Vietnam War era B-52H strategic bomber fleet to the B-52J standard will not provide aircraft with even a limited initial operational capability until the year 2033. “The program noted that there have been program delays in part due to funding shortfalls to complete the detailed design, but that it has worked with the contractors and submitted budget requests to support critical design review in August 2025 and initial operational capability in mid-fiscal year 2033,” the report observed, highlighting that delays “are a result of underestimating the level of funding needed to complete the detailed design activities. Specifically, as the B-52 prototyping effort was extended from preliminary design to critical design, program officials received a proposal for the detailed design work.” At the core of the new upgrade remains the replacement of the aircraft’s ageing Pratt & Whitney TF33 with Rolls-Royce F130s, providing lower maintenance requirements and a longer range. Significant changes to avionics and other parts of the aircraft’s structure are also required.

The Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, which is now the second most popular party in the country, is moving closer to being banned. Christian Democrat (CDU) MP Marco Wanderwitz says he has enough MPs in his corner to table a motion for an AfD ban in the Bundestag.

He noted that he has gathered 37 MPs who will support the ban while speaking with the far-left newspaper taz.

Wanderwitz is still waiting on the Münster Higher Administrative Court. That court has since agreed with the classification of the AfD as a “suspected right-wing extremist” organization in May; however, the court has not yet released a written justification behind its decision. Wanderwitz says he is waiting for the court to release its written report before moving forward with a ban proposal.

And then the moderator, Prof. Amos Azaria, introduced a panel discussing "Successful Models of Settlement From the Past and Lessons for South Lebanon" with Daniella Weiss, Yehudit Katzover and Rabbi Elishama Cohen.

A Republican senator blocked a Democratic-led attempt to pass legislation Tuesday that would have restored a Trump-era ban on bump stocks, an accessory that enables semi-automatic weapons to shoot at a very rapid pace, after last week's Supreme Court decision striking down the ban.

Sen. Martin Heinrich, a New Mexico Democrat, requested that his bill banning bump stocks be brought up for a vote under unanimous consent, a procedure in which a measure passes so long as no lawmaker objects. Sen. Pete Ricketts, a Nebraska Republican, blocked the measure by objecting.

Heinrich said Tuesday there's "no legitimate use for a bump stock."

"A bump stock-equipped semi-automatic rifle is a machine gun and it should be banned, just like machine guns have been banned for nearly 100 years now," he said on the Senate floor. "Even still, within the Supreme Court's majority's ruling, they gave Congress, they gave us, clear direction on the only way for us to protect Americans from these deadly devices. Congress needs to act."

U.S. and Israeli officials will hold a meeting at the White House on Thursday to discuss Iran's nuclear program after intelligence agencies discovered concerning information about Iran's capabilities, Axios reported Tuesday.

U.S. and Israeli intelligence agencies reportedly uncovered information about a computer modeling program Iran has acquired that could be used to assist in developing nuclear weapons. The purpose of the program remains unclear, with officials reportedly split on whether it is innocuous or it represents further nuclear ambition in Iran.

"For years now the intelligence community has assessed Iran is not actively working to build a nuclear weapon, that it might be building out the assembly line for fissile material but that we had no indication of active weaponization work. If true, this would upend that assessment and suggest Iran has a shorter runway to a bomb than previously reported," said Richard Goldberg, senior adviser at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, a Washington-based nonpartisan national security think tank.

Webmaster addition: Remember the "Laptop Of Death"? This was a hoax perpetrated by Israel which claimed the laptop was stolen from an Iranian nuclear scientist. The laptop contained all sorts of technical information on nuclear weapons, later revealed by experts to be junk mostly copied off of the internet. The Department of Justice (DOJ) has urged an appeals court to reject an “emergency motion” filed by Steve Bannon, a former adviser to ex-President Donald Trump, as he seeks to postpone an upcoming prison sentence.

In a court filing on Monday, the DOJ argued that Bannon’s emergency motion “seeking release pending the final resolution of his appeal” fails to “show a ‘substantial question likely to result in’ reversal or a new trial, as required for release.”

On June 6, a federal judge ordered Steve Bannon, host of the War Room podcast, to serve a four-month prison sentence after being found in contempt of Congress. Shortly after, Bannon filed an emergency motion requesting that a federal appeals court allow him to remain free while he contests his contempt of Congress conviction and seeks an appeal, according to NBC News.

Another quiet Holocaust that nobody seemed to recognize, well, except for the natural health enthusiasts, who know better than to trust anything pushed by Big Pharma, especially when it’s created in a criminal-run laboratory, then injected into the sheeple’s “muscle tissue” to “build immunity.”

Then came the wave of “misinformation,” which really meant that all the truth-tellers and the whistleblowers who let everyone else know what the so-called “vaccines” really do, were labeled conspiracy theorists, anti-vaxxers and misinformation terrorists.

Meanwhile, Big Pharma, Big Media and Social Media swung the wrecking balls, destroying popular opinion and spreading ALL the misinformation about how hundreds of millions of people, who all happened to get the Covid jabs, “died suddenly” (from vascular clots, heart attacks, strokes and turbo cancer).

Security concerns for agency workers have led the United States Agriculture Department to suspend its inspections of avocados and mangos imported from Mexico “until further notice,” the U.S.D.A. said on Monday.

Produce already cleared for export will not be affected by the decision, but avocado supplies in the United States, which mostly come from the Mexican state of Michoacán, could eventually be affected if the inspections are not resumed.

The inspections “will remain paused until the security situation is reviewed and protocols and safeguards are in place,” a U.S.D.A. spokesman said in an email.

The agency did not say what had prompted the security concerns. But Mexican news outlets recently reported that two U.S.D.A. inspectors had been illegally detained at a checkpoint run by community members. In Michoacán, which stretches from the mountains west of Mexico City to the Pacific Ocean, some Indigenous communities have set up security patrols to defend themselves against criminal groups.

The Wall Street Journal comments A Voter Revolt Grows in California.

The George Soros-backed initiative cut the state prison count, but Californians are paying a high price. Organized criminals exploit the law’s lax penalties. District attorneys say Prop. 47 prevents them from leveraging the penalty of jail time to induce addicts into treatment. Police often don’t arrest thieves or drug users because the crimes go unpunished. Retail theft, vagrancy and open-air drug use have spiked.

Thus the citizen initiative, which would toughen penalties for shoplifters and drug dealers. Someone with two prior convictions for theft could be charged with a felony on the third offense no matter the amount. The value of stolen property from multiple thefts could be combined for a felony charge.

The initiative would also make possessing fentanyl while carrying a loaded firearm a felony. Dealers could be charged with homicide if their clients overdose.

Democrats Alternative Solution

Democrats are advancing a package of bills to assuage public anger about surging crime. One would let courts issue restraining orders against thieves, as if this would stop them.

A year before former President Donald Trump was convicted on 34 felonies, and a month after Trump was indicted, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg was attending a fundraiser for a group that wants Trump’s name off the ballot alongside a man who has likened Trump to Adolph Hitler.

In May 2023, Bragg attended the main fundraiser for the NAACP Legal Defense Fund (LDF), which has been on the front lines of legal efforts to keep Americans from being able to hear from, and vote for, Trump. He was pictured alongside film director Spike Lee, who has said Trump “will go down in history with the likes of Hitler” and that both Trump and “all his boys” are “going down on the wrong side of history.”

Bragg has come under fire by Trump’s supporters for what they characterize as a political prosecution of the former president. Bragg used a dubious and unproven out-of-jurisdiction crime to transform an alleged paperwork misdemeanor into 34 felonies, all of which a Manhattan jury quickly convicted the former president of. His attendance at a fundraiser will likely only fuel allegations that Trump was targeted only because he’s the Republican nominee for president.

“This week, we learned an illegal alien from El Salvador who Crooked Joe Biden allowed into our country murdered a mother of five while she was on a run in Maryland, and we learned an illegal alien from Ecuador tied up and raped a 13-year-old girl at knifepoint in broad daylight. But Biden doesn’t care about the American lives that will forever be destroyed by the illegal criminals he is importing; and Biden doesn’t care that law-abiding taxpayers, crushed by inflation, are forced to pay for free food, housing, and healthcare for illegals. Biden only cares about one thing — power — and that’s why he is giving mass amnesty and citizenship to hundreds of thousands of illegals who he knows will ultimately vote for him and the Open Border Democrat Party. Biden’s mass amnesty plan will undoubtedly lead to a greater surge in migrant crime, cost taxpayers millions of dollars they cannot afford, overwhelm public services, and steal Social Security and Medicare benefits from American seniors to fund benefits for illegals — draining the programs Americans paid into their entire working lives. Biden has created another invitation for illegal immigration through his mass amnesty order.”

Authored by Lorenz Duchamps via The Epoch Times,

Texas officials have reported a significant drop in illegal border crossings since Gov. Gregg Abbott implemented his state-level border security mission.

According to a statement released by Mr. Abbott’s office on June 14, the initiative has resulted in a 74 percent decrease in immigrants crossing into the state illegally in Texas since Operation Lone Star was launched in March 2021.

As part of the initiative, the Republican governor has deployed floating border barriers, installed wire fencing, and used the Texas National Guard to stem the flow of illegal immigrants.

Since the program was launched, the multi-agency effort has led to nearly 514,000 illegal immigrant apprehensions and more than 44,000 criminal arrests, with more than 38,600 felony charges, the statement said.

Claire's Observations:  What is that wonderful statement, "Don't mess with Texas!!"  Well, Governor Abbott and his Law Enforcement  Agencies, just proved that true again!! :-)
