Three Disney employees, a school athletic director and a father who left his 1-year-old home alone to have sex were among 219 people arrested in a major human trafficking bust in Florida, authorities said Thursday.
The seven-day undercover operation earlier this month led to 44 felonies and 242 misdemeanor charges against the dozens of suspects – 35 of whom are suspected of being in the country illegally, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said during a news conference.
Overall, 83 suspects were charged for soliciting prostitution or traveling to the undercover location to negotiate having sex in exchange for money, the sheriff said.
Freddy Escalona, 30, and Maria Guzman 36, were charged most severely with human trafficking due to “Operation Traffic Stop 2” that started Sept. 19.
Another 17 suspects were accused of collecting money from prostitution or helping prostitutes conduct business.
Tualatin, Oregon – Women’s rights activist and former collegiate champion swimmer Riley Gaines uncovered video Thursday showing a trans male student viciously assaulting a helpless girl at school while fellow students filmed the assault instead of coming to the victim’s aid.
“These documents show a clearer connection between Joe Biden, his public office, and Hunter Biden’s global influence peddling scheme that resulted in over $20 million in payments to the Biden family,” stated Chairman Jason Smith. “In addition to then Vice-President Joe Biden attending lunches and speaking on the phone with his son’s business associates, the details released today paint a fuller picture of how Joe Biden’s vice-presidential office was instrumental to the Biden family’s business schemes.”
The committee published a few snippets from the trove of documents.
Reporter Elaad Eliahu was escorted out of a transgender rights event after asking the panel, "What is a woman?" which received gasps from the crowd at Georgetown University.
The event, which was titled "Trans Rights in America," happened at the Washington D.C. university on September 26, 2023, and was organized in opposition to a speech being given by commentator Michael Knowles from outlet the Daily Wire.
The event's panel featured transgender Montana state Rep. Zooey Zephyr, journalist Erin Reed, Oklahoma state Rep. Mauree Turner, and transgender activist Charlotte Clymer, TimCast reported.
It was Clymer who first responded after reporter Eliahu approached the microphone in the Q&A portion of the event.
Seeking a consensus on terms, the reporter asked, “So what is a woman? And if it is just self-identifying, then is there any limiting principle to that?”
House Republicans held their first impeachment inquiry hearing on Thursday to decide whether President Joe Biden should be impeached. Republicans detailed their probe into the Biden family’s economic practices, while Democrats supported the president and denied any wrongdoing.
South Carolina GOP Rep. Nancy Mace used strong language to criticize Democrats on the committee for dismissing Republican allegations of President Biden’s business connections.
Mace cited a 2017 agreement with the Chinese firm CEFC, stating that the deal involves making millions “off of granting access to Joe Biden.”
“Hunter even arranged for Joe Biden to share office space with the CCP-aligned company CEFC. My Democrat colleagues say none of this is relevant because Joe Biden wasn’t vice president while his family did these shady deals,” Mace said. “Turns out that’s complete and total bulls—. It’s a lie.”
“Biden referred to access his father as the keys to his family’s only asset. Those words are going to come back and haunt Hunter Biden and his family forever,” she added.
The House Committee on Oversight and Accountability held its first hearing on the impeachment of Joe Biden on Thursday.
The three witnesses testifying today are:
Bruce Dubinsky, Founder, Dubinsky Consulting (forensic accountant)
Eileen O’Connor, Former Assistant Attorney General, Department of Justice Tax Division
Jonathan Turley, Shapiro Chair for Public Interest Law, George Washington University Law School
House Oversight Chairman James Comer was on fire in his opening statement Thursday morning.
“At least ten times, Joe Biden lied to the American people that he never spoke to his family about their business dealings,” Comer said. “He lied by telling the American people that there was an “absolute wall” between his official government duties and his personal life.
In a recent post on his Truth Social tech platform, former President Donald Trump promised his supporters that, if reelected in 2024, he will go after MSNBC and NBC News for committing "country-threatening treason."
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), with the support of at least 17 states, has filed its long-awaited antitrust lawsuit against Amazon for allegedly engaging in illegal conduct and "monopolistic practices" within its online store and merchant services.
After a pair of women allegedly shoplifted items from a nail supply store in southern California earlier this month, one of them came back to the Murrieta store and brazenly demanded her phone, which she accidentally left behind — and things soon grew worse.
Border Patrol agents have seized enough fentanyl to kill the entire U.S. population this fiscal year, as agents also struggle to contend with a record-setting migrant crisis at the southern border.
Border Patrol Chief Jason Owens announced that agents have seized over 2,700 lbs of fentanyl as part of the more than 69,000 lbs of narcotics seized between ports of entry. The seizures include 40,000 lbs of marijuana, 13,000 lbs of methamphetamine and 11,000 lbs of cocaine.
This amount of fentanyl, which does not include the amount seized at ports of entry, is more than enough lethal doses to kill the entire population of the United States. While significantly more is caught at ports of entry – with over 22,000 lbs caught at the ports of entry at the southern border this fiscal year -- the stat highlights the danger of fentanyl moving between the ports and potentially past overwhelmed agents in the field.
Democrats and their allies in the media are going to have a tough time explaining away the damning evidence emerging from congressional committees investigating President Joe Biden’s alleged corruption.
The House Ways and Means Committee released new documents from IRS whistleblower Gary Shapley on Wednesday, which could spell more trouble for the Bidens and possibly for Hunter Biden’s “sugar brother” Kevin Morris, who paid the First Son’s $2.8 million tax bill and funded his lifestyle in Malibu.
As detailed by the New York Post, here are the top five revelations contained in the committee’s 1,600-word report and 31 new exhibits tabled by IRS criminal investigators Shapley and Joseph Ziegler, who allege DOJ obstruction of their five-year investigation of Hunter in Delaware:
–Uncle Jim Biden told the FBI and IRS in an interview last September that he and his nephew Hunter tried to help Chinese firm CEFC buy a US liquid natural gas facility in Louisiana — and that they did so in the knowledge that the company was directly linked to Chinese President Xi Jinping. Hunter told his uncle that CEFC chairman Ye Jianming “was a protégé of President Xi,” the FBI report says. But investigators were instructed not to ask Jim Biden if his brother, then-former Vice President Joe Biden, was involved in the ultimately unsuccessful CEFC deal or to follow “normal investigative leads,” says the committee.
