I had hoped to speak to high-schoolers – I still do – but the six high schools nearest me either ignored my offer to speak or declined it.  “Do it for the kids,” they say when asking to raise your property taxes, but it’s beyond the pale to dissuade those very same kids from needlessly putting themselves in harm’s way?  Parents might have a different opinion, so here’s my speech:

Before we get into this, let’s discuss what most would label “a hypothetical.”  Tonight, I’m going to break into your home, point a gun at you, and rob you – all the while claiming that I’m not your enemy.  Your enemy, I’ll say, is elsewhere, and I don’t mean across the street but in a different country.  What will you do?  By a show of hands, will you fight back and protect those in your home by evicting me or even by killing me?  By a show of hands, who will thank me and travel to said country in search of the enemy, leaving those in your home vulnerable to me?  Anyone?  Nobody?  It sounds absurd, but for reasons that I’ll soon explain, you’ll understand that it’s more real than hypothetical.

One by one, the US empire is discrediting all of its own arguments for why it should lead the world. All the violence, tyranny and injustice it claims to be keeping at bay with its globe-dominating leadership is being inflicted by the empire itself, in more and more brazen and egregious ways each year.

The entire premise behind the empire’s containment strategies, military encirclement and cold war brinkmanship with China is that obviously the PRC needs to be stopped from rising and displacing the US as the global leader, and arguments about the need to control Russia and Iran by any means necessary arise from the same premise. These arguments are accepted as a given by many on the basis that the US is a free and democratic country which promotes liberal values and opposes authoritarianism, so of course it’s better to have the US in charge of world affairs.

But every point which could be used to bolster that argument is being rapidly eroded by the US itself. The US is making the world a much more violent and dangerous place. The US is assaulting freedom by perpetrating and facilitating more and more injustice and authoritarianism. The US is undermining international law by constantly violating it. Every argument that could be made for the merits of US global leadership gets weaker by the day.

The sun erupted in a dazzling spectacle on Monday (June 3), firing off an intense solar flare captured in stunning detail by a NASA solar observatory.

But when you look closely at the eruption, it appears that much of the solar material in the vast plasma plume didn't manage to escape the grasp of the sun. In the video, captured by NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory during an M-class solar flare,  you can see a huge plasma plume rise from the sun's surface, only to be reeled back in during an apparent "failed eruption."

Solar astrophysicist Ryan French took to X to describe the event, which occurred at 10:11 a.m. EDT (1411 GMT) on Monday. "A gorgeous #SolarFlare on the Sun today!  Just look at how the falling plasma impacts and flows down the magnetic field - physics in action." French wrote.  "As further data becomes available, it looks like this event is a prime example of a 'failed eruption'! Material attempted to leave the Sun, but didn't quite escape." French continued.

Stargazers who don’t normally get the chance to take in the beauty of an aurora may once again get an opportunity this month. The sunspot region responsible for last month’s tantalizing aurora is once again showing off, and experts say the next several years could see even bigger events.

Last month people as far down as Florida reported being able to see the aurora. The culprit behind the intense show of lights was sunspot region AR 3664. Following the event, AR 3664 rotated away from the view of Earth. Now that it has rotated back around (and been given a new name, AR 3697), it is still showing as being very active, erupting with a powerful X 2.8 flare on May 27, 2024.

Since then, the sunspot region has spewed out four more X-class flares, for a total of five since June 3, 2024. While none of those reached the intensity of May’s event, it is possible that some could in the coming month.

US Marines Corps MQ-9A Reaper Drones are now operating in the Philippines as the US continues to beef up its military presence in the country, USNI News reported on Monday.

The Reaper drones, which can be armed with powerful Hellfire missiles, have been operating out of the Philippines since the spring at the request of Manila as the two nations are increasing intelligence sharing.

A spokesperson for the I Marine Expeditionary Force told USNI that the Marines Corps “will employ unarmed MQ-9As to provide reconnaissance and surveillance in support of the development of intelligence sharing between the US and our Philippine allies.”

US Reaper drones have been deployed to support the Philippines in the South China Sea, where tensions are soaring between Manila and Beijing over disputed rocks and reefs in the waters. The US is strongly backing the Philippines in the dispute and has even committed itself to intervene if the situation turns into a shooting war.

Special Counsel Jack Smith has again filed a request with the federal judge presiding over former President Donald Trump’s classified documents case to impose a gag order after getting shot down just days ago while earning a rebuke from the court.

Smith’s request aims to prevent Trump from commenting on the law enforcement officers who searched his Mar-a-Lago home, where they found classified documents. In Florida, Trump faces 40 counts related to his alleged mishandling of classified documents after leaving the White House and obstructing the Justice Department’s investigation, the Washington Examiner reports.

“These deceptive and inflammatory claims expose the law enforcement professionals who are involved in this case to unjustified and unacceptable risks: they invite the sort of threats and harassment that have occurred when other participants in legal proceedings against Trump have been targeted by his invective,” prosecutors Jay Bratt and David Harbach wrote in the filing.

Webmaster addition: A reminder that Jack Smith is an illegitimate Special Counsel as he has not been confirmed by the Senate.

I start by saying it outright: America is on the precipice of war! And I’m talking not only about war abroad; I’m talking about war within the United States. And these wars are being deliberately orchestrated by President Joe Biden in the United States and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Israel.

Strong language? Yes. But the facts prove the language is not hyperbolic.

On February 8, I wrote a column entitled U.S. Government Gives Millions To Jewish Group To Escort Illegals Into America.

In that column, I quoted Peggy Hall saying:   Sherwin, Martin J. Best Price: $8.74 Buy New $8.00 (as of 10:17 UTC - Details)

Here are the dark and dirty details of how the US is financially footing the bill for the immigrant invasion.

There is a Jewish organization called HIAS, which stands for Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society.

HIAS gets hundreds of millions of dollars in US funding through the Office of Refugees Resettlement (ORR). ORR was created by Brandon Biden as part of the Department of Health and Human Services in the federal government. (Note: just a reminder for how bloated and excessive the federal government is. There is NOTHING in the Constitution that allows for these unfettered agencies that are created on the whim of the president.)

Check out the ORR website here, and note near the bottom of the list of agencies that are getting matching grants from YOUR money.

You’ll see that HIAS is listed as one of those agencies.

HIAS spends YOUR tax dollars on getting 500,000 ILLEGALS all the way from South America and Central America into the USA.

You might think that the poor immigrants should get the red carpet welcome wagon treatment. After all, think of the deplorable conditions they are escaping, not to mention the risks these asylum seekers face while trying to escape to a better life.

Um… that’s not really the case, at least for these refugees that are helped every step of the way by HIAS (funded with millions of dollars from the US government).

Keep reading, and I’ll show you exactly how HIAS describes how they are helping HALF a MILLION refugees cross the dangerous Darien Gap in the Panamanian jungle to grab money, housing, transportation, cash grants, medical care and jobs that should be going to authentic Americans.

Veronica Garcia, a transgender high school athlete in Washington who won the state championship in the girls 400-meter race last month, complained about the lack of "sportsmanship" shown after winning the race and receiving a medal for it.

Garcia, of East Valley High School, ran the race in 55.75 seconds, which was one second better than the second-place finisher's time of 56.75, according to the Pacific Northwest Track and Field Officials' track scoreboard.

However, Garcia told The Spokesman-Review the lack of a congratulations from other runners at the meet "somewhat hurt."

"I guess maybe I expected sportsmanship because I was cheering the rest of them on when they were called. So I guess I expected to get that reciprocated," Garcia told the paper. "But I didn’t get that.

"I’m just a teenager. I wish people would remember that."

The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) allows transgender athletes to compete against the sex they identify as.

President Biden’s cognitive decline is readily apparent and a concern for dozens who have interacted with the 81-year-old commander-in-chief in recent months, according to a shocking report Tuesday.

Some of the more the 45 Republican and Democratic lawmakers and staffers interviewed by the Wall Street Journal described a president who spoke so softly during meetings that participants struggled to understand him.

The president flew into Wilmington, Del., on Sunday night, where his 54-year-old son’s felony gun trial begins Monday, and will spend the whole day there with no official duties.

Joe Biden’s looming presence in the strange small city leaves nobody in any doubt of the message he is sending to Delaware special counsel David Weiss, the prosecutors, the judge, and the jury pool being chosen Monday: You mess with my son, you mess with me

It’s all very subtle, in a flagrant way, much like Joe’s impromptu visit to Hallie Biden, the widow of Beau and former lover of Hunter, just nine days before his son’s trial, at which she is the star witness for the prosecution.

The World Health Organization (WHO) is demanding that global governments begin cracking down on members of the public who criticize the United Nations (UN) agency’s anti-human agenda.

Like its parent agency, the UN, the WHO has been advancing plans that seek to strip citizens of their rights and freedoms in order to assert global control.

Along with the World Economic Forum (WEF), the unelected globalist organizations are hoping to usher in their agenda by claiming that anti-humanity measures are vital in the “fight” against looming pandemics and “climate change.”

However, most of the taxpaying public doesn’t want to be forced to live in mud huts, eat insects, give up travel, be boosted to death, or be locked in their homes, all while paying to fund bureaucrats who impose such measures.

Two things have become painfully clear on Capitol Hill this week: Lawmakers and staffers say sexual harassment is “rampant” – but even members of Congress have no idea just how widespread the problem is.

The controversial and sensitive issue has taken center stage in Congress this week, with female lawmakers making fresh allegations of sexual harassment against unnamed members who are currently in office, and the unveiling of a new bill on Wednesday to change how sexual harassment complaints are reported and resolved. On Thursday, a woman shared her story of being groped and kissed without her consent by Sen. Al Franken in 2006.

So far, there’s been little specific data to help illuminate just how pervasive sexual harassment is on Capitol Hill, but one figure has emerged: the total that the Office of Compliance, the office that handles harassment complaints, has paid to victims.

On Thursday, the Office of Compliance released additional information indicating that it has paid victims more than $17 million since its creation in the 1990s. That includes all settlements, not just related to sexual harassment, but also discrimination and other cases.

Lest We Forget The Tiananmen Square Massacre On This Day In 1989

by Tyler Durden

On the 35th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square protests, human rights supporters continued to speak up about the democratic uprising that was brutally suppressed by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) on June 4, 1989.

The incident led to a massive death toll among unarmed students, and for decades, the CCP has systematically censored all information related to the massacre.

“People commemorate the ‘June 4 Incident’ because it symbolizes universal values such as democracy, freedom, human rights, and peaceful protest. It stands as a bloody testament to the courage and resistance of the Chinese people,” said Du Wen, the former executive director of the Legal Advisory Office of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Government, now in exile in Europe.

He told the Chinese language edition of The Epoch Times that his generation remains nostalgic about the June 4 incident even though it is nearly impossible to find any trace of it inside China, where any discussion of it is taboo.

As Mary Hong reports, that large-scale democratic movement provided the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) with an excellent opportunity to peacefully transition from autocracy to democracy. At that time, the young students did not make any demands regarding the CCP’s power itself. Their demands were solely for freedom of the press and speech, expressing dissatisfaction only with the corruption among the CCP elite. The interest of young students in national affairs was largely due to the enlightened thinking and reformist spirit of two successive CCP General Secretaries, Hu Yaobang and Zhao Ziyang.

However, CCP elders, represented by Chen Yun, believed that the students’ calls for freedom and democracy challenged the very foundation of CCP rule. Consequently, the hardliner Deng Xiaoping ordered the violent suppression of the democratic movement. While this temporarily stabilized the regime, the opportunities that the democratic movement presented to both the CCP and China were lost.

The wound of history is still bleeding. China continues to pay a heavy price for the massacre. The issues that the students demanded the CCP address at that time did not disappear, instead, they have accumulated over history. The massacre made the CCP’s perceived legitimacy even more fragile in the eyes of the people. Many say that the CCP lost its legitimacy because of the “June 4th” massacre. I have always disagreed with this view. The CCP regime forcibly seized power from the Republic of China with the blatant military intervention of the Soviet Union. Claiming legitimacy for something taken by force is itself absurd and laughable. Moreover, the Chinese people never had the opportunity to question the legitimacy and effectiveness of the CCP’s governance. Objectively speaking, since 1949, the Chinese people have tacitly accepted a new regime imposed on them, thus the existence of the CCP regime at most holds a semblance of reasonableness. However, in the minds of the Chinese people, this reasonableness was significantly damaged by the “June 4th” massacre

The persecution of political dissidents in the US is becoming commonplace. People who oppose Washington’s aggressive foreign policy are being seen as enemies and treated as criminals, even when there is no plausible reason to charge them. Recently, military analyst Scott Ritter had his passport confiscated by US authorities without any specific reason, showing the advanced levels of tyranny in the country.

Ritter was on a plane at the New York airport. His plan was to travel to the Russian Federation, as he had a special invitation to participate in the St. Petersburg Economic Forum, which will begin in the next few days. Ritter was already boarding when three policemen suddenly forcibly removed him and seized his documents. When asked about the reason for this action, the policemen said they were following orders from the US State Department and refused to clarify any details about the case.

“I was boarding the flight. Three [police] officers pulled me aside. They took my passport. When asked why, they said ‘orders of the State Department’. They had no further information for me (…) They pulled my bags off the plane, then escorted me out of the airport. They kept my passport,” he told journalists.

Without his passport, Ritter is unable to leave the US territory. In practice, he will begin living under a regime similar to house arrest, not only being monitored by American authorities, but also being prevented from leaving the country. It is curious that this happened precisely during a trip by Ritter to Russia. It seems that Washington is trying to make it clear to all its citizens that there will be no tolerance for citizens who maintain any form of ties with Moscow.

Ritter has long been one of the most vocal critics of military support for Ukraine. In his interviews and articles, he openly advocates for an end to arms supply and for a friendly policy between the US and Russia. Ritter has repeatedly exposed the truth about Ukrainian Nazism and Western collusion with ultranationalism and racism. In addition, his main work as a military analyst consists of providing detailed, technical analyses that show the situation of the sides in the conflict.

Billionaire Bill Gates, the World Economic Forum (WEF), and their globalist allies are advancing plans that allegedly seek to “save the planet” from “climate change” through the use of vaccines.

In recent months, unelected elites have been targeting the global food supply over claims that farming contributes to the so-called “climate crisis.”

The WEF and the United Nations (UN) insist that emissions from agriculture are preventing governments from complying with “Net Zero” targets.

The meet the goals of the WEF’s “Net Zero” agenda, governments are increasingly under pressure to destroy the farming industry, despite the obvious threat to the food supply.

Gates, America’s largest farm owner and a vocal advocate of the anti-meat agenda, has been funding the development of new vaccines through his organization which he claims will help tackle “global warming.”

More recent figures suggest that violent crime seems to be decreasing from the recent peaks, with the local police department using new camera technologies such as ‘Flock’ cameras to bring rates down. These cameras can detect license plates of cars that are of interest to law enforcement and alert the police instantly.

I study these trends, so I can give you the real statistics. Too many writers focus on the most populated cities and fail to consider all U.S. cities.

Readers often ask me such a question- which are the most dangerous places in America?

Of course, since I am asked such a generic question, it depends on what you consider dangerous. You’re probably thinking of crime rates. But I once wrote a about why Miami, Florida, is statistically the city in which you are most likely to die an untimely death, including characteristics such as vehicular accidents, weather, and crime. East St. Louis ranked second, largely based on crime.

I’ve long criticized our current US justice system – on all levels – as becoming much more about political justice than blind justice. The bizarre trial and conviction of former President Donald Trump last week on 34 felonies only reinforces my concerns.

The New York District Attorney, Soros-backed Alvin Bragg, has been notorious for downgrading felony charges against others to misdemeanor charges. According to a recent article in the Daily Mail, Bragg had downgraded 60 percent of felony cases to lesser charges, resulting in violent criminals being released on the streets and a crime wave across New York City.

But when it came to Donald Trump, Bragg lurched in the other direction, upgrading what normally would have been misdemeanor charges against anyone else to 34 felony charges against the former president. How can this sudden “about-face” be explained other than politics?

Jonathan Turley, who is no fan of Donald Trump, has been covering the trial closely and has found more than a little disturbing the exuberant celebrations of Trump’s conviction among the mainstream media and his political opponents. Recently, he wrote:

“The conviction of former President Donald Trump in Manhattan of 34 felonies produced citywide celebrations [which] extended to the media, where former U.S. Attorney Harry Litman told MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace that it was ‘majestic day’ and ‘a day to celebrate.’ When I left the courthouse after watching the verdict come in, I was floored by the celebrations outside by both the public and some of the media.”

Regardless of one’s view of Donald Trump, it is a disturbing development in our society when justice is treated more like a football game where you root for your “team” rather than a way of preserving our freedom and liberty in an equal way for all.

It appears that Democrats and Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg (D) have accomplished a feat that even Donald Trump couldn't for the last decade: turn "Never-Trump" voters into Trump supporters.

Trump's conviction proved to be a massive fundraising boon for his campaign. But it's also persuading Americans reluctant to support Trump in the past to vote for him in November.

'I feel the need to send a message to the Democrats that their dirty politics will not be rewarded.'

It's the law of unintended consequences personified.

Last week, venture capitalist Shaun Maguire made headlines with his six-figure donation to Trump's campaign in the wake of the verdict. In a new interview, Maguire told the Free Press that it wasn't necessarily the verdict that persuaded him to support Trump — but Democrats' lawfare against the former president.

"We were told that Donald Trump would be the end of democracy, but it turns out that lawfare tactics have been escalated by the Democrats and not by the Republicans," he told the news outlet. "And so it’s from that backdrop that I believe the Republican Party is less of a danger to democracy than the Democratic Party right now."

A.P. Moller-Maersk A/S has raised its full-year guidance for the second time in a month. This upward adjustment comes as strong demand for containerized shipping, along with disruptions in the Red Sea, has led to a surge in the cost of shipping a 40-foot container on major shipping routes.

The Denmark-based shipper, a bellwether for global trade, wrote in a press release Monday, "On the back of continued strong container market demand and the disruption caused by the ongoing crisis in the Red Sea, A.P. Moller - Maersk A/S (Maersk) now also sees signs of further port congestions, especially in Asia and the Middle East, and additional increase in container freight rates."

Source: Bloomberg

Maersk pointed out, "This development is gradually building up and is expected to contribute to a stronger financial performance in the second half of 2024." Higher container costs allowed for a second upward revision in its annual outlook in a month. The shipper now expects earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortization of $7 billion to $9 billion, up from its earlier estimate of $4 billion to $6 billion.

However, the shipper noted, "Trading conditions remain subject to higher-than-normal volatility given the unpredictability of the Red Sea situation and the lack of clarity of future supply and demand."

The Red Sea crisis has had a profound impact on containerized shipping, with Bloomberg Intelligence estimating an 80% reduction in container sails through the Suez Canal. This has forced ships to take longer routes, such as sailing around the Cape of Good Hope, adding at least a week to their total travel time. As a result, global fleet capacity has been reduced, leading to a significant boost in containerized freight rates.

We covered this dynamic in a note last week titled "Supply Shock: Shipping Container Costs Top $10,000 Amid Red Sea Turmoil Thinning Global Capacity," showing how major shipping lines, from Shanghai to Los Angeles, Shanghai to Rotterdam, Shanghai to Genoa, and Shanghai to New York are experiencing a sizeable price jump to ship 40-foot containers.

Image removed.

"Earnings expectations will need to move higher for Maersk and the broader liner market amid a surge in freight rates from increased port congestion and an earlier start to peak demand from the dislocation created by the Red Sea crisis. Strong pricing will remain as long as ships can't safely traverse the Suez Canal," Bloomberg Intelligence's Lee Klaskow wrote in a note.

A strange anti-logic is driving Washington today, and it cannot be explained solely by the military industrial complex, late-stage empire, metastasizing corruption or so-called colonial capitalism.

We see it in a bifurcated legal system that targets and punishes enemies of the “current” state – but this is not anti-logical.  The state, wherever it prevails, predictably protects its actors and players, while fending off competitors.  The health of the state is war, and not just war with other countries, but war between gangs competing for “free” state resources, malleable state authority, and rent-seeking advantages.  What we deride as “Banana Republics” is actually all states, wherever they exist, to one degree or another.

The legal tools chosen and exercised against the Clinton, Bush, Biden/Obama Crime syndicates are not the same as those chosen and exercised against Trump, and those seen as Trump allies.  The legal tools exercised against those who assist the state are very different than the ones used against those who expose the state.  Lawfare is old news, and well-practiced in the United States, as elsewhere.

Hallie Biden, the ex of Hunter Biden and widow of his brother, will testify about her use of crack with Hunter, prosecutor Derek Hines said during Tuesday’s opening statements of the gun trial.

Hallie, 50, dated Hunter in 2018 and found a Colt Cobra .38 handgun in Hunter Biden’s truck outside her home, prosecutors say. Hallie dumped the gun in a nearby grocery store trash bin, according to prosecutors.

Hunter used crack when he purchased the firearm, a wide variety of photos from the time on his abandoned laptop show. The Secret Service allegedly intervened in the investigation of that incident.

Hunter Biden is charged with one count of false statement in the purchase of a firearm, one count of possession of a firearm by a person who is an unlawful user of or addicted to a controlled substance, and one count of false statement related to information required to be kept by a federal firearms licensed dealer.

Hines said Hallie’s testimony would be “embarrassing” but necessary, according to court reporters.

Polls are showing that as more Americans learn about transgender athletes, opposition to allowing them to compete against women is increasing, not going down.

The website Boys vs Women tracks the differences in scoring between grown women and boys to show that, in most cases, adult women aren’t even fast enough or strong enough to beat high school boys in sports.

The site’s main question is featured at the top of the main page, asking, “If boys win against the fastest women, is it fair for males to compete in female-only athletic events?”

On its X account, the site recently reviewed the polling on the acceptance rate for transgender “women” in sports.

It appears that the left’s tactic of forcing everyone to accept males competing in women’s sports — especially in schools and colleges — is failing to have the effect of cajoling people into agreeing with the practice.

Demanding the immediate release of documents pertaining to “credible allegations” of “improper collusion by the Biden White House and Department of Justice (DOJ) in the sham political show trial of President Trump conducted by Alvin Bragg, the New York County District Attorney’s Office, and Judge Juan Merchan,” America First Legal is suing the Department of Justice.

The principal target of the allegations of cooperation between the Biden Administration and Bragg’s office is Matthew Colangelo, a senior Biden DOJ official who joined Bragg’s team as a prosecutor after leaving the department. Before accepting a low-level position as a prosecutor in Bragg’s office, Colangelo was the Department of Justice’s third-highest ranking officer official.

“Today, AFL sued the DOJ to compel the immediate release of previously requested records regarding Matthew Colangelo, a key figure in the partisan and politically-motivated prosecution of President Trump in Manhattan,” America First Legal wrote in a press release.
