"Oppressors can tyrannize only when they achieve a standing army, an enslaved press, and a disarmed populace." -- James Madison

The Federal Reserve just released a new study showing that credit card default rates in America have surged up to the highest level on record. In some cases - even worse than what we saw in 2008. These skyrocketing credit card defaults are an ominous sign of the US Economy and Consumers. Particularly for those spending on bank cards such as Discover, Wells Fargo, JP Morgan, and Bank of America - where the card default rates have more than doubled in the last 2 years.

No one in the vice president’s orbit, including Harris herself, needs to be reminded how the disappointment and disenchantment from her first years on the job still hang over her, or how odd it is that some voters say in interviews with CNN and outside focus groups they are inclined toward Biden but are turned off by Harris.

CNN’s conversations with two dozen aides to the vice president, the reelection campaign and other top Democrats also show the paradox that even the most Biden-centric aides have been forced to grudgingly admit: There is another swath of voters turned off by the president — and their internal data shows Harris will be critical to getting them if Biden wants to win a second term.

Elon Musk is becoming increasingly popular among Americans of all stripes. He outraged the progressive left when he bought Twitter. Since then, he has exposed how Democrats colluded with social networks to censor Americans.

Despite intense pushback from major companies and groups, Musk continues to defy the liberal establishment to protect American rights.

The businessman recently discussed a major move that could shake up the nation as we know it. He talked about creating a national campaign that might protect one fundamental right. Soon after, Americans came out of the woodwork to support him.

From The Post Millennial:
On Thursday, Elon Musk announced that he planned on funding a national signature campaign to support the First Amendment.

The move was widely celebrated, with many X users expressing a desire to sign.

Like reading a news story about a person getting scurvy, hearing about a modern metropolis getting beset by rat-borne illnesses almost seems like getting thrown back in time to the Dark Ages.

But, no, this time it was not a problem afflicting an impoverished medieval village, but rather one of the largest cities in the entire developed world: New York City.

While the city has been allocating resources toward prosecuting former President Donald Trump for the crime of winning the 2016 election, it has descended further and further into a state of squalor.

As reported Wednesday by CBS News, not only have rats in New York become ubiquitous in the worst way possible, but levels of rat-related sicknesses have reached their highest annual rate last year.

The New York City Health Department has been warning the populace of the increasing cases of a disease spread by contact with rat urine.

According to the department, leptospirosis is caused by bacteria in infected animals’ urine. It usually causes flu-like symptoms (aches, chills, stomach trouble) but, if left untreated, can cause kidney failure, liver failure or meningitis.

Agriculture Minister Murray Watt says Elon Musk acts like he doesn’t owe “any obligation” to the public after his social media company X vowed to fight orders by Australia’s online watchdog to remove content related to the alleged church stabbing.

The eSafety Commissioner Julie Inman Grant said social media giants X, formerly Twitter, and Facebook parent company Meta would be issued a notice of removal.

In a statement, which was shared by Musk, the social media giant said "recent attacks in Australia are a horrific assault on free society" but vowed to fight the removal notice.

Webmaster addition: What is it about that stabbing that Australia wants to keep under wraps?!?

An active compound in marijuana called tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) has been found to promote the removal of toxic clumps of amyloid beta protein in the brain, which are thought to kickstart the progression of Alzheimer's disease.

The finding supports the results of previous studies that found evidence of the protective effects of cannabinoids, including THC, on patients with neurodegenerative disease.

"Although other studies have offered evidence that cannabinoids might be neuroprotective against the symptoms of Alzheimer's, we believe our study is the first to demonstrate that cannabinoids affect both inflammation and amyloid beta accumulation in nerve cells," says one of the team, David Schubert from the Salk Institute for Biological Studies in California.

In the hallowed halls of the United States Congress, amidst the echoes of impassioned debates and the clinking of champagne glasses, a decision was made. A decision that would ripple through the fabric of the nation, leaving some elated, others enraged, and many scratching their heads in bewilderment.

Yesterday, as the sun dipped below the horizon and the stars began to twinkle in the night sky, Congress made a bold move. They approved a staggering $61 billion to protect Ukraine, a gesture hailed as noble by some and questioned by others. Yet, what truly struck a dissonant chord was the stark contrast to their neglect of domestic concerns.

The U.S. Air Force on April 15 deployed 12 B-2 Spirit intercontinental range stealth bombers for a major show of force, with 12 of the service’s small fleet of just 20 aircraft taking part in a large fly-off exercise at Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri. The B-2 has notoriously high maintenance needs that far exceed those of any other combat jet in the world, and availability rates that are particularly low within the American bomber fleet, which makes the deployment of 12 of the aircraft - or 60 percent of the fleet - an exceptional show of force. Two aircraft, representing a further 10 percent of the fleet, are currently being repaired after being damaged in separate landing incidents, with the remaining six likely also currently not being flight worthy. Deployed under the Spirit Vigilance exercise, the fly off came just a day after Iran launched multiple waves of cruise missile, ballistic missile and drone attacks on military facilities in Israel on April 13-14, retaliating for an Israeli air strike on an Iranian diplomatic building in Syria on April 1. This raised the possibility of escalated hostilities between Iranian and both U.S. and Israeli forces, with the latter expected to be supported by a number of other Western states. It remains uncertain to what extent recent hostilities influenced the decision to conduct the B-2 flyoff, with the state of the fleet meaning it likely required at least several days of preparations to stage.

President Joe Biden spent three days this week campaigning in the critical swing state of Pennsylvania. He littered his remarks with false and misleading claims on subjects ranging from his annual earnings to his cap on seniors’ prescription drug spending to the demographics of China to the frequency of his past travel to Iraq and Afghanistan.

And in Biden’s most eyebrow-raising remarks of the campaign swing, he told and then retold a story in which he strongly suggested his late uncle, Ambrose Finnegan, was eaten by cannibals after his plane was shot down while he fought in World War II. Biden’s dramatic details don’t match the Defense Department’s official account of the plane crash.

Here is a fact check of eight of Biden’s Pennsylvania remarks.

After the Ukraine funding bill passed through the House on Saturday, New York congressional candidate Nate McMurray posted, "Die MAGA die. You lose," online in celebration of the vote.

Democratic lawmakers were heavily criticized online after waving Ukraine flags in celebration of the vote, however, the New York representative appeared to take his celebration even further.

After posting the "Die MAGA die" comment, he received heavy backlash online.

Robby Starbuck quoted his post and said, "This is a Democrat running for Congress. Democrat politicians are bloodthirsty tyrants now who’ve lost their grip on reality."

Rep. Bennie Thompson (D. Miss.), who chaired the House J6 Committee, introduced legislation that calls for President Donald Trump to lose his Secret Service protection if he’s convicted and sent to prison. Thompson fully understands that there is a strong likelihood that the current Manhattan hush money trial or the upcoming Georgia RICO trial, both of which are open partisan lawfare rather than justice, will see at least one felony conviction and prison sentence for Trump. In other words, this legislation is an almost explicit call for Trump’s assassination.

It’s been apparent since the get-go that the myriad criminal actions against Trump are a form of election interference. Each case has no basis in law or fact. All are purely partisan actions intended not only to prevent Trump from re-taking the White House but to tell anyone else who opposes the Democrat machine that the machine will go into Destructor-mode. Now, though, we’re seeing an even more sinister side to the Democrats’ anti-democratic and immoral actions, all of which are zooming the U.S. toward a constitutional crisis as profound as that which faced America in 1861.
