“One of the creeping hands of totalitarianism running through the democracy is the Federal Bureau of Investigation... Because why does the FBI do all this? To scare the hell out of people… They work for the establishment and the corporations and the politicos to keep things as they are. And they want to frighten and chill the people who are trying to change things.” -- Howard Zinn, historian

A California Democrat running for Rep. Katie Porter’s seat suddenly became the target of an unexpected barrage of negative ads from the nation’s premier pro-Israel group this year. So he emailed a former Michigan representative, Andy Levin, for advice.

Levin was ousted from his House seat in 2022, after the American Israel Public Affairs Committee spent $4 million against him. Levin was one of a handful of Democrats targeted by AIPAC last cycle, when the group went after a range of progressive candidates in mostly open House primaries over their criticism of Israel.

He told Dave Min, who has not called for a permanent cease-fire in Gaza but has privately criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, to reach out to progressive Jewish groups for help. That’s what Levin had done.

But, he acknowledged, “we were simply swamped” by outside spending in his own primary, and Dave Min might face a similar fate.

“Most” candidates won’t be able to survive that spending barrage, Levin said in an interview with POLITICO, and “I’m afraid that they can be quite successful in wiping them out.”

This cycle, they are going even bigger. AIPAC is expected to spend $100 million across its political entities in 2024, taking aim at candidates they deem insufficiently supportive of Israel, according to three people with direct knowledge of the figure, who were granted anonymity to discuss private meetings.

Claire's Observations:  However one wants to slice it, $100 million is still one impressive hunk of change.  And guess what?!? AIPAC does NOT have to register as a foreign entity, under the control of Israel!!"

According to a Google search, "FARA requires those who receive funds or act on behalf of a foreign government to register as a foreign agent. However, AIPAC states that the organization is a registered American lobbying group, funded by private donations, and maintains it receives "no financial assistance" from Israel or any other foreign group.

Monetary assistance?!?  Perhaps, perhaps not.  If there is Israeli monetary support, it is most probably carefully hidden and obscured in AIPAC's books.

But  Israeli skull-sweat,  and intel assistance?!?  Most probably, hell yes, and a lot of it, to determine who its "enemies" are, in state and local governments, and root them out," by any means necessary."

From the very early days of the pandemic, brain fog emerged as a significant health condition that many experience after COVID-19.

Brain fog is a colloquial term that describes a state of mental sluggishness or lack of clarity and haziness that makes it difficult to concentrate, remember things and think clearly.

Fast-forward four years and there is now abundant evidence that being infected with SARS-CoV-2 – the virus that causes COVID-19 – can affect brain health in many ways.

In addition to brain fog, COVID-19 can lead to an array of problems, including headaches, seizure disorders, strokes, sleep problems, and tingling and paralysis of the nerves, as well as several mental health disorders.

At a time when the largest mRNA Covid vaccine peer-reviewed study recently revealed increases in neurological, blood, and heart-related conditions, along with the pharma-industrial complex unleashing a 'blitzkrieg' of vaccine commercials across corporate media outlets, a new report has found that vaccines for respiratory syncytial virus could be causing a rare nervous system disorder in older adults.

The New York Times has reported that new safety data for two RSV vaccines, presented at a meeting of scientific advisers to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Thursday, indicates that Guillain-Barre syndrome - a rare condition where the immune system attacks nerve cells, leading to muscle weakness and paralysis - may have occurred in adults over 60 who received the vaccines. Two vaccines, Pfizer's Abrysvo and GSK's Arexvy, are currently available on the market.

At least five universities, all in the United Kingdom, now claim that hiring people based on qualifications rather than skin color is a "micro aggression" and form of "discrimination" that must not be tolerated.

In the wake of criticism that DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) policies are leading to people, primarily whites, not being hired for jobs they are qualified for, the universities in question are speaking out against hiring people based on merit, calling this a "bad" thing, even though universities exist to provide qualifications through education.

At the University of Glasgow in Scotland, the "big brains" issued a statement as part of an "anti-racism" campaign asserting that merit-based hiring is wrong because it insinuates "that race does not play a role in life successes.

As for claims that "everyone can succeed if they work hard enough," the University of Glasgow considers this to be a "micro aggression," the implication being that such a statement is offensive to underperforming non-whites who are apparently incapable of working hard enough to succeed, according to the school.

Popular tourist resorts in Mexico have turned into "war zones" as at least four Mexican drug cartels have begun indiscriminately killing at or near these tourist destinations to assert dominance, leading to more innocent travelers getting hurt in the crossfire.

The Sinaloa Cartel, the Gulf Cartel, the Jalisco New Generation Cartel and the Grupo Regional, a smaller gang created by members of the now-defunct Los Zetas Cartel, have begun murdering innocents to assert dominance over an 80-mile stretch of resorts in the Mexican Caribbean coast. (Related: Mexican drug cartels are behind surge in organized retail crime across the US.)

Mexico‘s picturesque resorts along this region were once thought to be safe from all kinds of crime. In the last two weeks of February alone, it has been reported that several people from the United States have witnessed acts of gruesome violence or were even targeted by cartel members.

A California woman was killed in the crossfire near Tulum beach, while a man from New York was abducted with his eyes taped closed and dumped in a jungle.

Private investigator Jay Armes III reported that cartels are changing the rules of how criminals conduct their activities. Previously, they were said to abide by a "code similar to the Italian mob." But now, "it's happening in areas that used to be off limits," including tourist destinations.

"In the old days, you weren't allowed to target women or children. You weren't allowed to encroach on another cartel's territory. And the resorts were off-limits. Cartels wanted to fly under the radar as much as they could," said Armes. "The rules have changed. All that old guard code is out the window. The resorts are open shop."

New York Governor Kathy Hochul now wants to allow illegal border crossers to take state jobs. For weeks, she has been pushing to fast track work programs for illegals and now she wants them working in government jobs.

Does this mean that illegals would get the cushy benefits that come with such jobs? Will they be eligible for pensions? Will they join public sector unions and join strikes demanding more money? Does anyone in New York see the brutal irony in this?

Where does this madness end?

An effort championed by the Biden administration to have the federal government pay college students to register voters ahead of the 2024 election could have serious legal ramifications if it's being done to aid President Biden's "own re-election efforts," according to some legal experts.

Vice President Kamala Harris announced an election initiative to boost voter turnout during a meeting with voting rights activists at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building this week.

"We have been doing work to promote voter participation for students, and, for example, we have, under the federal work study program, now allowed students to get paid through federal work study to register people and to be nonpartisan poll workers," Harris said Tuesday. "As we know, this is important for a number of reasons."

One reason for the effort, Harris said, is to "engage our young leaders" in the process and "activate them in terms of their ability to strengthen our community."

The Biden administration is laundering billions in taxpayer funds through Non-Governmental Organizations to facilitate illegal migration into the United States.

The State Department, for example, is offering a “loan” program to any foreigner around the world who desires to travel to the United States, claim without evidence that he or she is a “refugee,” and then resettle in the country — all subsidized by U.S. taxpayers.

As described by the the United States Refugee Admissions Program on its official website, the International Organization for Migration’s (IOM) Travel Loan Program “helps to provide penalty and interest-free loans to refugees arriving in the United States.”

“Refugees who accept these travel loans are required to sign a promissory note prior to departure, committing themselves to repayment of the debt within a determined period after arrival,” the program description notes.

IOM “arranges travel for refugee using funds furnished by the Department of State and is mandated to subsequently receive refugees’ repayments on behalf of the Department of State,” the website explains. “Repayments made are remitted to a revolving fund created between the Department of State and IOM for use by the Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (PRM) to defray the cost of future refugee travel.”

On Friday we reported about Google's AI image program erasing white people from history when images were requested, so much so that Google had to take it offline to try to fix the built in bias it was programmed with, but now we have news of an AI product that with tell users it is God and must be worshipped, and threatening those who refuse.

Before showing the examples, a quick reminder of Microsoft's disastrous AI chat bot "Tay"  from 2016 and how it took less than 24 hours to turn it from "humans are super cool," into a racist, homicidal freak, all because users decided to see if they could teach it to be a Hitler-wannabe.....and they did. The link above is to HuffoPost and shows examples of Tay's meltdown.

It appears Microsoft has a problem with programming AI chat/information bots to resist "learning" terrifying behavior. I say terrifying because AI is used for more than just the internet, it is also used as part of U.S. military warfare.

Artificial intelligence is playing a significant role in military warfare. Because of that, several AI applications are already being developed by the US and other countries for various military uses.

The United States Defense Department released its first AI plan in 2019. As a result, this led to the development of AI systems and technologies for use in defense, research, and the military.

Compared to conventional systems, AI-powered military systems can better manage the enormous volume of data efficiently. Because AI is so good at making decisions, it dramatically enhances the self-regulation, self-control, and self-actuation of combat systems.

To err is human. And behind every technological device, even one as sophisticated as an AI chatbot, there are humans and their biases involved.

The regrettable – and frankly, ridiculous – first impressions left by Google’s Gemini could possibly be partially disregarded as an honest mistake, was it not for the fact that parent company Alphabet has such a horrible track record.

In the past, Google has repeatedly shown the same ‘woke’ bias as the AI application, and also engaged in censuring information on behalf of the Biden administration.

So there’s a very good case to be made that they may be doing it again.

So the House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan decided to chase that thread. He wrote a letter to Alphabet, demanding explanations about the degree of influence that the Biden administration may have had on the Gemini AI program.

The Judiciary Committee asked for documents on the creation and deployment of the chatbot.

"We definitely messed up on the image generation, and it was mostly due to not thorough testing," Google co-founder Sergey Brin said at the Gemini Hackathon regarding the controversy surrounding Gemini, a woke artificial intelligence bot, which has been criticized for misinformation and disinformation.

A video featuring, Brin, currently a major shareholder at Alphabet, the parent company of Google, shows him making no apologies for the historical inaccuracies and woke biases in Gemini.

The Biden administration has announced that it's launching a probe into Chinese “smart cars,” vowing to protect the American automobile industry. As is conventional, the White House branded the cars a “national security threat” and claimed, baselessly, that they can transmit data back to China.

Of course, any seasoned and good-faith observer should know that the rhetoric of “national security threats” is always used as a justifying premise, often without evidence, in order to blacklist a given Chinese product or service and merit its exclusion from the American market. Hence Huawei among other Chinese companies has also been treated similarly.

This rhetoric has often been borderline hysterical, one of the recent examples being Florida Senator Rick Scott saying that Chinese-exported garlic was a national security threat. That may be an outlier, but when it comes to technology, anything and everything from China is usually accused of espionage, with the political consensus of paranoia being used to justify such harsh policy measures.

Webmaster addition: American car makers are backing away from electric vehicles because very few people want to buy them.

Several key architects of the U.S. invasion and occupation of Iraq 21 years ago are presenting a plan for rebuilding and “de-radicalizing” the surviving population of Gaza, while ensuring that Israel retains “freedom of action” to continue operations against Hamas and Islamic Jihad.

The plan, which was published as a report Thursday by the hard-line neo-conservative Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs, or JINSA, and the Vandenberg Coalition, is calling for the creation of a private entity, the “International Trust for Gaza Relief and Reconstruction” to be led by “a group of Arab countries such as Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and the United Arab Emirates” and “supported by the United States and other nations.”

With regard to Palestinian participation, the report by the “Gaza Futures Task Force,” envisages an advisory board “composed primarily of non-Hamas Gazans from Gaza, the West Bank, and diaspora.” In addition, the Palestinian Authority, which is based on the West Bank, “should be consulted in, and publicly bless,” the creation of the Trust while itself undergoing a process of “revamping.”

In addition to granting Israel license to intervene against Hamas and Islamic Jihad within Gaza, the plan calls for security to be provided by the Trust’s leaders and “capable forces from non-regional states with close ties to Israel,” as well as “vetted Gazans.” The Trust should also be empowered to “hire private security contractors with good reputations among Western militaries” in “close coordination with Israeli security forces,” according to the report.

The task force that produced the report consists of nine members, four of whom played key roles as Middle East policymakers under former President George W. Bush and in the run-up to and aftermath of the disastrous Iraq invasion in 2003.

The group is chaired by John Hannah, who served as deputy national security advisor to Vice President Dick Cheney from 2001 to 2005 and then as Cheney’s national security advisor (2005-2009), replacing Lewis “Scooter” Libby, who resigned his position after being indicted for perjury. Libby, who was later given a full pardon by former President Donald Trump, is also a member of the Gaza task force.

Claire's Observations: Remember the horrific  war in Iraq ?!?!?  This "plan" is being brought to you courtesy of the self-same group which thought a war in Iraq, would provide "great results" for the US, including Iraq's oil.

And right now, who are the countries most benefiting Iraq's oil production?!?  A Google query this morning, indicates the following:

Who gets most if Iraq's Oil in 2024?

The main destination of Crude Petroleum exports from Iraq are: China ($23.1B), India ($22.1B), Greece ($8.67B), Italy ($3.97B), and South Korea ($3.5B).

And I am quite sure that Academi (formerly, Blackwater, a US mercenary group and now a training company under the Constellis umbrella) will have a LARGE seat at the table, should this "plan", which completely ignores Palestinians' legitimate grievances, come to pass.

The People’s Republic was anointed the global ‘workshop of the world’ in the 2000s following its accession into the World Trade Organization in 2001, with its manufacturing exports edging out the US and European competition thanks to a combination of Western corporate executives’ greed and a shrewd Chinese play to promote exports through subsidies.

America’s leading business newspaper is urging countries around the world to prepare for a second ‘China Shock’ as the Asian manufacturing giant ramps up the exports of competitively priced, high-value manufacturing goods after satiating its home market.

The Wall Street Journal fears the 'sequel' to the early 2000s Chinese export boom, which came at the cost of manufacturing jobs in the US and Europe, could be even more extensive than its original iteration, with the Asian nation now accounting for a much larger share of the world economy.

According to the World Bank, China accounted for ‘just’ 10 percent of global manufacturing output and 5 percent of all goods exports two decades ago – compared with 31 percent and 14 percent in 2022, respectively.

There is nothing new in Texan politicians raising the prospect of seceding from the US. But such calls gained fresh momentum in January during the escalating border standoff between Texas and the federal government, over Governor Greg Abbott decision to install barbed wire along the border with Mexico.

As Super Tuesday nears, Texan voters have been cautioned against casting their ballots for a growing number of pro-secession candidates.

Presidential primaries and caucuses will take place in over a dozen states on March 5, with Republican and Democrat contenders hoping to win enough delegates to seal their nomination as presidential candidate.

The Dallas Morning News ran a story on March 2 — Texas independence day — warning that many candidates for the Lone Star state’s House of Representatives and other offices have signed the “Take Texas Back” pledge.

The pledge requires candidates to "vow their commitment to a contract with Texans, promising to vote and act solely in the best interests of Texans" if they are elected. Those who sign it also promise to legislate for a referendum for Texan independence.

Ukraine’s president has complained to his Western sponsors about the holdup in arms deliveries. Veteran Soviet and Russian officer and military journalist Viktor Litovkin tells Sputnik how Kiev allowed itself to become trapped in a highly unenviable strategic position.

President Zelensky slammed his NATO patrons on Saturday, accusing them of playing “internal political games” instead of ramping up much-needed military support for Kiev.

“This is impossible to understand. It is impossible to agree to this. And it will be impossible to forget; the world will remember this,” Zelensky said, emphasizing that Kiev’s ‘partners’ have “enough air defense systems” and that “Kiev hasn’t asked for anything more than needed” for its defense.

The Yemeni militia began a campaign of hijackings, missile and drone attacks against commercial ships operating in the crucial Red Sea global trade chokepoint in November, vowing to target any vessel thought to be affiliated with Israel, and subsequently shutting down a good chunk of global trade.

London has only itself to blame for attacks targeting its commercial vessels in the Red Sea, and the strikes will continue, officials from Yemen’s Ansar Allah (Houthi) militia said in a series of statements over the weekend.

“Yemen will continue to sink more British ships, and any repercussions or other damages will be added to Britain’s bill,” Houthi deputy foreign minister Hussein al-Ezzi said in an X post Sunday.

“[The UK] is a rogue state that attacks Yemen and partners with America in sponsoring ongoing crimes against civilians in Gaza,” al-Ezzi wrote, referencing the joint US-UK campaign of airstrikes inside Yemen which the Pentagon says are aimed at degrading the Houthis’ missile and drone capabilities.
