Fury has erupted in France after dozens of seven-thousand-year-old standing stones erected by prehistoric humans were destroyed to make way for a DIY store.

Some 37 stones standing between half-a-metre and a metre were each destroyed by the development of the large construction for a Mr. Bricolage outlet in Carnac, in Brittany, northwest France.

According to local amateur archaeologist Christian Obeltz, the site had been on France's National Archeological map since 2015, as well as being on the town's official list of local megaliths.

They say the site was also going to be submitted to France's Ministry of Culture with a view to listing it as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

TRUMP: DOCUMENTS INVESTIGATION IS 'ELECTION INTERFERENCE.' There are reports the Biden Justice Department is on the verge of indicting former President Donald Trump in the classified documents investigation. Not only would such an indictment be the first federal charge against a former president, but it would also be the first time a sitting president's administration has indicted a leading opposition party candidate in the run-up to a presidential election.

"They're doing it to affect the election," Trump said in a conversation Wednesday at his club in Bedminster, New Jersey. "They [are] cheating on the election just like they did the last time."

Earlier Wednesday, journalist John Solomon, who has represented Trump in dealings with the National Archives and Records Administration, reported that federal prosecutors, led by special counsel Jack Smith, "have notified Donald Trump that he is a criminal target and likely to be indicted imminently" in the classified documents case. Solomon reported that prosecutors rejected the Trump defense team's request that the indictment be put off so allegations of possible witness tampering can be investigated.

A bill in Switzerland calls into question its neutrality in the Ukrainian conflict because the country’s Senate approved the amendment authorising the re-export of arms to Ukraine, according to a statement from the parliament. This effectively breaks Switzerland’s long-held image of a “neutral” country.

The Senate of Switzerland voted on June 7 to adopt an amendment to the law on re-exporting weapons to countries involved in armed conflict. Buyer states of Swiss armaments and military equipment will now, under certain conditions, have the right to transfer weapons to countries where a war is being waged.

Responding to this development, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba tweeted: “I thank the Swiss parliament’s upper house for an important move to unblock the re-export of Swiss-made weapons. We are looking forward to the next steps. I am grateful to Switzerland for its solidarity with Ukraine while upholding its neutrality.”

Nonetheless, the press release about the bill specifies that since certain deputies from the left, centrists and the People’s Party voted against it, the members of the National Council (lower house of parliament) will therefore have to look again at the question. For these deputies, the right of neutrality is called into question with this bill.

The Metropolitan Police Department in Washington D.C. has confirmed to Congress that it had plainclothes officers at the Capitol during the Jan. 6 riot and that at least one was captured on video exhorting the crowd, a key House investigator told Just the News.

Rep. Barry Loudermilk, R-Ga., the chairman of the House Administration Subcommittee on Oversight, said in wide-ranging interview Wednesday night that MPD body cam video that leaked onto the video platform Rumble is authentic and confirms that officers in plainclothes were at the riot.

And secondly, why did the MPD Metropolitan Police support department decide to put undercover officers in the crowd? Was there intelligence that they had that was or was not passed on to the Capitol Police and what did the Capitol police do with that evidence, if they got it?” he added. 

On Wednesday, Matt Gaetz (R-FL) is set to present a resolution seeking to censure Mississippi Democrat Rep. Bennie Thompson. The resolution alleges that Thompson breached House rules by failing to adequately transfer all records from the January 6th Select Committee to the Clerk of the House.

The resolution, first obtained by the Post Millennial, was submitted to the House of Representatives by Gaetz, seeking to censure Thompson for violating the long-standing Rules of the House of Representatives. According to Gaetz, on December 30, 2022, Thompson sent a letter to the Biden White House, along with House property, in clear breach of the Rules. He repeated the same violation by sending a similar letter and records to the Department of Homeland Security.

The resolution outlines that as Chair of the J6 committee, Thompson had a specific obligation to turn over all committee records to the Clerk of the House at the close of Congress. This requirement is not simply a procedural formality – it serves to promote transparency and preserves the historical record of Congress, a public trust that must not be taken lightly.

California Governor Gavin Newsom wants to change the Consitution.

According to a Fox News report, the Golden State Gov. says that a change to the U.S. Constitution is necessary if Americans want to curb gun violence; he’s proposing a 28th Amendment.

“Our ability to make a more perfect union is literally written into the Constitution,” Newsom said Thursday. “So today, I’m proposing the 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution to do just that. The 28th Amendment will enshrine in the Constitution common sense gun safety measures that Democrats, Republicans, Independents, and gun owners overwhelmingly support – while leaving the 2nd Amendment unchanged and respecting America’s gun-owning tradition.”

Newsom’s proposal flies in the face of many recent federal court wins for 2A rights.

Sen. Tom Cotton (R., Ark.) is seeking an investigation into the tax-exempt status of the left-wing Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), according to a letter provided to the Washington Free Beacon.

Cotton sent the letter to the IRS April 2 and urges an investigation into whether the SPLC "should retain its classification as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization" amid news reports that have verified the "long-established fact that the SPLC regularly engages in defamation of its political opponents."

The SPLC has garnered massive amounts of cash for its operations. The Washington Free Beacon reported in early March that the group has $518 million in assets, with $120 million now offshore.

"The business model has paid well," Cotton writes in the letter. "The SPLC has accrued more than $500 million in assets. According to the group's most recent financial statement, it holds $121 million offshore in non-U.S. equity funds. The SPLC uses these assets to pay its executives lavish salaries far higher than the comparable household average."

Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene announced that House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has honored his promise to release of thousands of hours of footage from the incident at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

Some parents in Connecticut are up in arms over a Pride Month video that was shown to 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders; one of the scenes features a child revealing, "I never really felt like a boy, and I don’t really feel like a girl, so I’d rather be both."

What are the details?

Some parents whose children attend Wells Road Intermediate School in Granby argued that they should have been told about the video before their children were shown it, WFSB-TV reported.

What's more, some parents said their children are too young to learn about the topics like gender, the station said, adding that parents should be the ones to have such discussions if they so choose.

The video shows children describing what Pride Month means to them, WFSB said.

“Pride means you should be able to be free," a participant named Simon — who uses he/they pronouns, said in the clip. "All my life I never really felt like a boy, and I don’t really feel like a girl, so I’d rather be both."

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Tuesday that Ukraine has received a “powerful offer” from countries that are willing to provide their American-made F-16 fighter jets.

Since President Biden approved the delivery of F-16s from Europe to Ukraine, it hasn’t been clear which countries will send the jets. European nations that are expected to arm Ukraine with their F-16s include the Netherlands, Belgium, and Denmark, but they haven’t made a commitment.

Zelensky signaled that a deal on the aircraft will be reached soon. “Our partners know how many aircraft we need,” he said. “I have already received an understanding of the number from some of our European partners … It is a serious, powerful offer.”

The former civilian head of the NATO alliance is warning that some Eastern European states are prepared to send their soldiers to Ukraine if the bloc does not make significant pledges to Kiev during an upcoming summit. 

Anders Rasmussen, former NATO Secretary-General and current adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, is touring Europe and Washington to gauge the level of support Kiev should expect at the Vilnius Summit in July. “I think the Poles would seriously consider going in and assemble a coalition of the willing if Ukraine doesn’t get anything in Vilnius,” he said. “We shouldn’t underestimate the Polish feelings, the Poles feel that for too long western Europe did not listen to their warnings against the true Russian mentality.”

Poland and the Baltic States may send troops to Ukraine if the alliance fails to make a strong enough commitment to Kiev in Lithuania, according to Rasmussen. “If Nato cannot agree on a clear path forward for Ukraine, there is a clear possibility that some countries individually might take action. We know that Poland is very engaged in providing concrete assistance to Ukraine.” He continued, “I wouldn’t exclude the possibility that Poland would engage even stronger in this context on a national basis and be followed by the Baltic states, maybe including the possibility of troops on the ground.”

Russia on Wednesday questioned what the US might have known about Ukrainian plans to attack the Nova Kakhovka Dam in southern Ukraine using a US-provided HIMARS system.

The Russian-controlled dam was destroyed early Tuesday, and the Russians and Ukrainians are trading blame for the incident, which has caused massive flooding and forced thousands of people to evacuate. The destruction of the dam also threatens the water supply to Crimea.

In December 2022, The Washington Post reported that Ukraine considered attacking the dam during its counteroffensive in Kherson last year, citing a conversation with Maj. Gen. Andriy Kovalchuk, who led the offensive for Kyiv. The report said Ukraine even conducted a test strike on the dam using a US-provided HIMARS rocket system.

According to a letter obtained by Axios, Fox News informed Tucker Carlson’s lawyers on Wednesday that the ex-prime-time anchor has breached his contract with the network by starting his own Twitter show on Tuesday.

This breach of contract allegation puts Fox News in a position to consider pursuing legal action against Carlson, thereby escalating the contentious public feud between the two sides. Carlson’s legal team informed Axios that any legal measures taken by Fox would infringe upon his First Amendment rights.

“Fox defends its very existence on freedom of speech grounds. Now they want to take Tucker Carlson’s right to speak freely away from him because he took to social media to share his thoughts on current events,” Bryan Freedman, Carlson’s lawyer, said in a statement.

Russia is accusing Ukraine of blowing up the Kakhovka dam as “revenge” for a failed offensive. The act of sabotage may lead to “very serious consequences,” Kremlin spokesman Peskov has warned.

The dam was partially destroyed early on Tuesday morning, sending a surge of water downstream and flooding towns and villages along the path of the Dnieper River.  Over 1300 people were evacuated after the dam failed.

Ukrainian forces have sabotaged the Kakhovka hydroelectric dam in Russia’s Kherson Region in a bid to deprive Crimea of drinking water and distract from Kyiv’s faltering counteroffensive, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov claimed on Tuesday according to a report by RT.

Meeting with sheriffs from four states—including several in national leadership positions—Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced the formation of a coalition of states to fight the border security battle without federal leadership on the cause.
