Vladimir Putin on France and Europe: “NATO Member States have Renounced their Sovereignty”

“As you know, the modern world, especially the Western world, is highly monopolised and many Western countries – whether they want to hear this or not – have voluntarily given up a considerable part of their sovereignty. To some extent, this is a result of the politics of blocs. Sometimes we find it very difficult to come to terms with them on geopolitical issues. It is hard to reach an agreement with people who whisper even at home for fear of being overheard by the Americans. This is not a joke or a figure of speech.”

As it happened – Yanis Varoufakis’ intervention during the 27th June 2015 Eurogroup Meeting

The Eurogroup Meeting of 27th June 2015 will not go down as a proud moment in Europe’s history. Ministers turned down the Greek government’s request that the Greek people should be granted a single week during which to deliver a Yes or No answer to the institutions’ proposals – proposals crucial for Greece’s future in the Eurozone. The very idea that a government would consult its people on a problematic proposal put to it by the institutions was treated with incomprehension and often with disdain bordering on contempt.

The Greeks for whom all the talk means nothing – because they have nothing

After seven years of a crisis that has left 26% of Greece’s workforce unemployed, 30% of its people below the poverty line, 17% unable to meet their daily food needs and 3.1 million without health insurance, it is hard to see how anything decided in Brussels or in Athens in the coming week will do much to change the lives of a large number of Greeks any time soon.

“Those that were already on the margins have been pushed right to the very, very edge, and those who were in the middle have been pushed to the margins,” said Ioanna Pertsinidou of Praksis, a charity that runs day centres for vulnerable people and offers legal and employment advice.

“So many people – ordinary, low-to-middle income people with jobs and homes and their lives on track – have seen their lives go drown the drain so fast,” Pertsinidou said. “People who never dreamed that one day they would not be able to pay their electricity bill, or feed their children properly.”

Ransomware slinging exploit kit targets Flash remote code execution

Attackers have added a recent dangerous Adobe vulnerability to the Magnitude exploit kit, according to respected independent malware researcher "Kafeine".

The remote code execution vulnerability (CVE-2015-3113) revealed last week allows attackers to hijack un-patched machines targeting Internet Explorer on Windows 7 and XP.

Web villains designated APT 3 by FireEye sleuths are already exploiting the flaw through phishing attacks.

Now the researcher known as Kafeine says the vulnerability has been added to the Magnitude exploit kit in what is a significant elevation of risk for Flash users.

Kafeine says Magnitude attackers are using the exploit to drop the Cryptowall ransomware.

If you're one of the millions of people who have a love/hate relationship with Facebook, there are now even more reasons for hating the immensely successful social media giant.

But did you know that Facebook also looks at all the other websites you visit and stores that data, too? Facebook also collects your online search data along with some of the details you give to retailers when you purchase something.

GCHQ and NSA broke antivirus software so that they could spy on people, leaks indicate

The British and American spy agencies deliberately broke anti-virus software so that they could read the messages of their citizens, according to new leaks.

Both the NSA and GCHQ have long been said to have deliberately reversed engineer software so that they could find weaknesses in software and exploit them to read communications. But new documents show that the agencies did so to some of the most popular antivirus software, potentially exposing hundreds of millions of people to dangerous viruses, according to a report from The Intercept.

The agencies reverse engineered Kaspersky antivirus software so that they could see how it worked and ensure that it didn’t keep them from looking through computers, according to the report. They also looked through emails that had been sent to the company flagging up viruses and vulnerabilities, the Intercept reported.

Ignoring Tsipras Plea For Calm, Greeks Storm ATMs, Stores, Gas Stations

Just a few hours ago Greek PM Tsipras addressed his nation imploring then to "remain calm" and reassuring them that their "deposits were safe." It appears the Greeks did not believe him. Many were wondering where the Greek bank lines were for the past several months. Turns out the local depositors were merely waiting until just after the last minute to withdraw their funds... horde gas... and stack food. Greece, it appears is Venezuela - the new socialist paradise.

Global financial markets are braced for a wave of contagion from Greece on Monday, with expected heavy losses for southern European government bonds and regional stock markets as investors scramble to discount a possible “Grexit” that most had still assumed was unlikely as late as Friday afternoon.

Greece will keep its banks closed on Monday and implement capital controls after international creditors refused to extend the country’s bailout.

I served 29 years in the U.S. Army and retired as a Colonel. I was also a U.S. diplomat for 16 years and served in U.S. Embassies in Nicaragua, Grenada, Somalia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Sierra Leone, Micronesia, Afghanistan and Mongolia.

P5+1 and Iran Have Settled Framework for Sanctions Relief Timing, Says Iranian Sources

Contrary to public posturing on the timing and pace of sanctions relief, a framework for handling this critical matter of the nuclear deal has been resolved, according to Iranian sources.

Iranian officials have on numerous occasions insisted that sanctions relief must come immediately upon the signing of an agreement. This has been at direct odds with the position of the U.S. government and its allies, who insist that relief only can come after Iran has taken numerous steps limiting its nuclear activities.

As often times is the case in diplomacy, the solution was found in a combination of a play with words and practical measures.

Can your iron attack you? Kaspersky says 'yes'

Snowden’s revelations did not shock Kaspersky: after all, he was educated at a KGB-sponsored cryptography institute and worked for Russian military intelligence. He was even accused of close ties with the FSB, the KGB’s successor. Kaspersky knows we live in a world where “everybody is watching everybody.” I suppose he expected that his business would be watched by the special services and his anti-virus products examined. He even said the attack was “just a good audit” and would stimulate the company to develop better security software.
What really worries Kaspersky is the fact that vacuum cleaners, mixers, fridges, smart TVs and even watches are now becoming dangerous. This week, speaking to journalists at a conference in St. Petersburg, he said that these devices would become a new source of cyber threats for humankind. “Everything that has an internet connection, everything that might be connected to the internet, will be hacked sooner or later,” he said.

Armenian activists do not accept president's offer

Activists protesting against electricity price hike have not accepted the offer by President Serzh Sargsyan.

Member of “No to Plunder” initiative Vaghinak Shushanyan said they do not consider this a victory and will continue the struggle. He added that Baghramyan Avenue will be closed, since the Armenian authorities did not meet any of their demands.

Serzh Sargsyan neither canceled the decision to rise electricity price, nor promised to hold accountable the law enforcers for their illegal actions on June 23.

In a statement made earlier on Saturday, the Armenian leader said the government will absorb the electricity price hike before the end of evaluation conducted by an international company.

Scientists Detect Mysterious Warming in U.S. Coastal Waters

Oceanographers are puzzled by an accelerated burst of warming sea that threatens the fisheries of the American Atlantic coast.

Meanwhile, off the US West coast, scientists report that they have been baffled by a mysterious “blob” of water up to 4°C warmer than the surrounding Pacific, linked to weird weather across the entire country.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Pop quiz: How many active volcanoes and thermal vents are on the floor of the world's oceans? Don't know? Don't feel bad; it's a trick question. Nobody knows. Nobody knows how many active volcanoes and thermal vents there are on the floor of the world's oceans. And they don't know if the source of the "warm blobs" in the Pacific and Atlantic are caused by newly erupting geothermal events on the ocean floor, for two reasons. One, it is very difficult and dangerous to get close to an active undersea volcano, more so than an active volcano on land. Second, these scientists are probably being funded to focus on finding some way to blame the warming on humans, to support the carbon tax agenda.

FBI Files Dig Up Shocking Dirt From Top Obama Adviser’s Past That Could Explain A Lot

The Obama adviser’s father-in-law, Vernon Jarrett, was also a communist according to FBI documents obtained by Judicial Watch. The agency considered him a potential Communist saboteur, who was to be arrested in the event of a war with the Soviet Union.

According to Judicial Watch, Jarrett herself is a “liberal extremist” who, like the president, had strong ties to Frank Marshall Davis — a member of the Communist Party with an extensive FBI file.

Obama wrote about his mentor “Frank” (Marshall Davis) in his best-selling memoir Dreams From My Father(2005). He mentioned him 22 times in the book by his first name, with various other references as well. The president wrote about a conversation he had with Davis in the late 70’s as the young man prepared to leave Hawaii to go to college on the Mainland.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Frank Marshall Davis was Obama's true biological father. He met Obama's mother while attending the University of Hawaii, and paid for his schooling as a part-time pornographer. Obama's mother was one of his models. Obama is a 60s love child.

Remember when Obama talked about his father's service in WW2? Neither Soetero nor Obama sr. served in the military, but Frank Marshall did.

The confusion over Barack Obama's birth certificate comes from a common practice in the 60s where a man marrying a woman who already had a baby would not bother with the legal adoption process, but merely ask for a new birth certificate with the correct name to be issued. That was the source of the "birther" nonsense.

More at Obama the love child?

#SailingToGaza ~~ THE BASTARDS TRY TO STOP US AGAIN

Passengers of the Freedom Flotilla III bound for Gaza have announced that one of the boats, named Juliano after the co-founder and director of The Freedom Theatre, Juliano Mer Khamis who was assassinated in 2011, has been sabotaged. Divers damaged the boat’s propellers, causing it to take in water and the boat barely made it into port in Greece before it sank. On Saturday June 27th, passengers reported that the flotilla was followed by an unidentified patrol boat and a military aircraft.

Israel has engaged in a massive campaign to prevent the flotilla from reaching Gaza, threatening the participants in a similar fashion as during earlier attempts to break the illegal siege on Gaza. In 2010, Israeli troops attacked a similar flotilla in international waters, killing ten of the activists onboard and detaining many others.

Iraq Residents: ‘We Know America is Providing ISIS with Weapons & Food’

The people of Iraq are increasingly blaming the United States for the spread of ISIS in their country, a Wall Street Journal report reveals.

While interviewing Iraqi refugees in a tent city in Baghdad, journalist Yaroslav Trofimov discovered that a growing number of residents believe ISIS is receiving direct support from the American government.

“We all know that America is providing ISIS with weapons and food, and that it is because of American backing that they have become so strong,” said Abbas Hashem, a 50-year-old who recently fled Ramadi.

Others, such as prominent lawmaker Alia Nusseif, made equally striking comments, accusing the US of using ISIS as a proxy army to split up the country.

The Forgiven Holocaust

... Liberals, Zionists, and "responsible" conservatives now occupy a rhetorically Hitlercentric universe, in which Nazism is the measure of all evil and Roosevelt is redeemed by his determination to crush Germany. The stain of guilt for Nazism constantly spreads - to ordinary Germans, allies of Germany, neutrals, isolationists, Swiss bankers, and Pius XII himself ... Everyone and everything is measured on a single scale, which might be called the Hitler Continuum. But there is not corresponding Stalin Continuum. Those who aided and defended and celebrated Stalin at the height of his crimes incur no guilt or obloquy. To have dreamed the Communist dream is evidence of idealism, not guilt or even irresponsibility.

Could this be YOU? Everyday Americans, including trained professionals and bosses, reveal how easily they fell into masses of debt - and have been left with no escape

They are Americans from all walks of life and every corner of the country - but are united in debt.

The people pictured in the portraits below have all laid bare their personal finances - revealing the sometimes-crippling amounts of money they owe.

One business owner borrowed $250,000 to fund a laundromat, and is now struggling to shift it - while others have been struck by illness, fraud and what they admit is 'frivolous spending'.

Others owe more modest amounts - often from college fees and credit cards - but have varying levels of optimism about how they will ever pay it back.

All are featured in The Debt Project, a series of photographs by artist Brittany Powell, aiming to investigate how people come to borrow and owe such life-changing amounts of money. Each is accompanied by a hand-written note.

TPP Trade Agreement Sleight of Hand: It Was Soooo Easy to Distract The American People With A Confederate Flag Flap and then Sell Us Into Slavery Again!

while America was distracted by a contrived, pre-planned Confederate flag distraction, the U.S. Congress forfeited the entire American economic future by quietly passing so-called “fast-track authority” which will allow President Obama to approve the TPP “free trade” agreement.

The TPP, as you may have heard, outright surrenders U.S. sovereignty to multinational corporations, handing them total global monopolies over labor practices, immigration, Big Pharma drug pricing, GMO food labeling, criminalization of garden seeds and much more. In all, the TPP hands over control of 80% of the U.S. economy to global monopolists, and the TPP is set up to enable those corporations to engage in virtually unlimited toxic chemical pollution, medical monopolization, the gutting of labor safety laws and much more.

Greece: The system versus the people

So what a wonderful system the European Union in its utter wisdom has created for the people of the Old Continent in general and the Greeks, Portuguese and Spanish in particular. A North-South divide, the Haves and the Have Nots, a two-speed, two-tier continent of the Rich and the Poor. Two Lands, Two Peoples, One Leader. Deutschland über Alles!
It is a not just a shame the way Europe has treated Greece, it is a scandal. Even more so, the callousness and sheer disrespect that everyone from Government officials to the media to the common person in the street have shown towards Greece and the Greeks, labelling them "irresponsible", "lazy" and "spendthrifts", an attitude so clear to see in the derogatory and insulting acronym PIGS given to Portugal, Ireland, Greece and Spain.

Russia to ban Coca-Cola and Pepsi

Russian State Duma deputies offer to ban Coca-Cola and Pepsi import to Russia in addition to the food embargo. Igor Zotov claims that the beverage producers fund main political forces of the US.
Russia limited food import from countries imposing sanctions against it for a year in 2014. These are: the US, Canada, Australia and Norway. On Thursday Russia has extended embargo till August, 2, 2016.
"In order to support actions of the Russian President and Government regarding countersanctions, we offer to impose restrictions on The Coca-Cola Company ? PepsiCo, which are the official sponsors of the Republican and Democratic Party of the US, and thus advocate extension of the sanctions against Russia," Zotov said.

35% suicide surge in Greece after austerity measures

The austerity measures in Greece generated a surge of suicides.
The number of suicides has increased by 35% for the last two years.
Bond obligations, increase of expenses in comparison with the incomes of the citizens often lead to depression and despair amid the population and instigate further suicides.
Charles C. Branas, MD have tracked the suicide rate in Greece for more than 30 years and found out that the highest monthly rates occurred in 2012.
"The passage of new austerity measures in June 2011 marked the beginning of significant, abrupt and sustained increases in total suicides (+35.7%) and male suicides (+18.5%)," the investigators write.
The tendency can be tracked in the country since the beginning of the EU economic crisis in 2008.

CNN Mistakenly Spots ISIS Flag At London Pride, Doesn't Notice Banner Is Made Up Of Dildos And Butt Plugs

When did CNN stop being a news channel? On April 15th, 2014, when the network held a panel discussion on whether Malaysian Airlines flight 370 fell into a black hole.

Yet on Saturday the broadcaster surpassed that nadir, running an "exclusive" segment on the “unnerving sight” of the Islamic State flag at a Pride event in London.

The “ISIS flag amongst a sea of rainbow colours was spotted by a CNN international assignment editor,” said the anchor, gravely.

CNN International’s Lucy Pawle was hastily brought to the phone to discuss the implications of the terror symbol at the LGBT event.

What the journalist failed to notice was that the letters on the flag were made up of an assortment of sexual devices, including dildos, butt plugs and whips.

The Money Myth Exploded

“Mr. Oliver, as our banker, your only occupation on this island will be to look after our money; no manual labour.”

“Mr. Oliver, we're going to build you a house that will be in keeping with your dignity as a banker. But in the meantime, do you mind if we lodge you in the building that we use for our get-togethers?”

“That will suit me, my friends. But first of all, unload the boat. There's paper and a printing press, complete with ink and type, and there's a little barrel which I exhort you to treat with the greatest care.”

They unloaded everything. The small barrel aroused intense curiosity in our good fellows.

“This barrel,” Oliver announced, “contains a treasure beyond dreams. It is full of... gold!”

Argentine court orders seizure of Falklands/Malvinas ‘illegal’ oil drillers’ assets

Argentina has ordered the seizure of assets belonging to foreign drilling companies operating in the vicinity of Falklands / Malvinas Islands, saying they have failed to obtain the necessary permissions from Buenos Aires to conduct exploration.

A federal judge in Tierra del Fuego, Lilian Herraez, has ordered authorities to seize the assets of five companies drilling for oil in the Falklands worth $156 mn. The measure was ordered following a request of a prosecutor from the Office of Economic Crime and Money Laundering (PROCELAC).

According to the prosecution, the order to seize assets was issued for “illegal activities of exploration, search and eventual extraction of hydrocarbons in proximity to the Falkland Islands” because the companies in question failed to obtain permits issued by “the competent authority in Argentina.”

He also noted the UN’s acquiesce to Riyadh’s stipulations.

He was twice questioned by police in the following years after the children told their parents what had happened. Files were forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal, Scotland’s prosecution service, but it was decided not to prosecute. The files would normally be retained, but Scotland’s Crown Office says they now cannot be found.

Seoul’s policies responsible for growing tension in Korean Peninsula - DPRK committee

North Korea’s Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland (CPRF) says the policies of Seoul are responsible for the growing tension in the Korean Peninsula. The organisation, which supervises in Pyongyang the inter-Korean relations, reacted to South Korea’s announced sanctions against Taiwan companies suspected of arms sales with the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK).
In the Committee’s statement, published on Sunday, the organisation criticises South Korea’s President Park Geun-hye as she was unwilling to respond to Pyongyang’s peace initiatives and developed further the military cooperation with the United States and Japan under the pretext of a "nuclear threat from the North" and "violated human rights" in the DPRK.
These activities of Park Geun-hye and her allies, the statement reads, "damage greatly the relations between the North and the South and develop further the tension in the Korean Penisula."

He pointed to Iran’s proposal World Against Violence and Extremism (WAVE), which was adopted by the United Nations in the form of a resolution, saying that the approval of the resolution went a long way in countering the false images of Iran, Press TV reported.

On This Day in History - Archduke Franz Ferdinand assassinated

In an event that is widely acknowledged to have sparked the outbreak of World War I, Archduke Franz Ferdinand, nephew of Emperor Franz Josef and heir to the Austro-Hungarian Empire, is shot to death along with his wife by a Serbian nationalist in Sarajevo, Bosnia, on this day in 1914.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Although the war started between Austria-Hungary and Serbia , it quickly shifted to focus on Germany, whose industrial capacity was seen as an economic threat to Great Britain, who saw the decline of the British Pound as a result of too much emphasis on financial activity to the neglect of agriculture, industrial development, and infrastructure (not unlike the present day United States). Although pre-war Germany had a private central bank, it was heavily restricted and inflation kept to reasonable levels. Under government control, investment was guaranteed to internal economic development, and Germany was seen as a major power. So, in the media of the day, Germany was portrayed as the prime opponent of World War One, and not just defeated, but its industrial base flattened. Following the Treaty of Versailles, Germany was ordered to pay the war costs of all the participating nations, even though Germany had not actually started the war. This amounted to three times the value of all of Germany itself. Germany's private central bank, to whom Germany had gone deeply into debt to pay the costs of the war, broke free of government control, and massive inflation followed (mostly triggered by currency speculators) , permanently trapping the German people in endless debt.

When the Weimar Republic collapsed economically, it opened the door for the National Socialists to take power. Their first financial move was to issue their own state currency which was not borrowed from private central bankers. Freed from having to pay interest on the money in circulation, Germany blossomed and quickly began to rebuild its industry. The media called it "The German Miracle". TIME magazine lionized Hitler for the amazing improvement in life for the German people and the explosion of German industry, and even named him TIME Magazine's Man Of The Year in 1938.

A software on/off switch for a microphone is no longer enough, a physical switch that breaks its electrical connection is required. That’s how you defend against this in depth.

Charter-Time Warner Cable Filing Shows Huge Deal Payoffs For CEOs And Bankers

Sometimes it pays to come in second: Time Warner Cable CEO Rob Marcus stands to collect a whopping $91.9 million if the deal to sell his company to Charter Communications goes through, according to a 700-plus page preliminary proxy filed at the SEC today. He might see $21.8 million in cash, $67.1 million in equity, $396,156 in benefits — mostly for financial planning — and $2.6 million in other awards including a special bonus TWC gave execs for increasing video subs in Q1.

That last bonus is unusual, and seems to give TWC brass a special reward just for doing their jobs: The company agreed to give execs 5% of their 2015 target cash bonus if in any quarter this year the cable company “experienced a net increase in residential video subscribers.”

In Case You Are Still Confused About Who Is In Charge

The spectacle is astonishing. The European Central Bank, the EMU bail-out fund, and the International Monetary Fund, among others, are lashing out in fury against an elected government that refuses to do what it is told.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What is essential for everyone to understand is that banking is not a science. It is a religion with a bunch of made-up rules to benefit the clergy, meaning the bankers. It only works because we have all been brainwashed into believing that banking is as sacrosanct as any other church, and those ink and paper tickets represent something real.

Once human-kind realizes that banking is a manufactured fantasy world designed to exploit humans as slaves (as are the other religions), we take an important step towards freedom.

Jewish Telegraph Agency - Throughout Hillary Clinton’s life and career, U.S. Jews have been close at hand

From the man who married her grandmother to the man who married her daughter, from working a room full of bar mitzvah guests on behalf of her husband’s political career to headlining major pro-Israel events during her own, Hillary Rodham Clinton’s journey has never wandered far from Jews.

Webmaster's Commentary:

When Americans comment about the preponderance of Jewish people in our political system, we are called "anti-Semites" for promoting "sterotypes." Yet the Israel media is not being shy at all proclaiming that candidate Hillary Clinton is surrounded and greatly influenced by a large number of Jewish people!

No government can serve two masters, and a government that serves Israel cannot and will not serve the American people. A friend of Israel is no friend of America. In these dark times America needs leaders who will put America first, second, and third!

According to the Israel media, that person is not Hillary Clinton!

Lapid: Flotilla actvisits are terror supporters

The boat is currently running parallel to Egypt's Mediterranean coastline. The boat's arrival in the area will be the culmination of a long term public campaign by the organizations involved to raise the Gaza issue in the international media. The flotilla is due to arrive in Gaza on Sunday or Monday, but it seems unlikely Israel will allow it to reach the Gaza coast.

Meanwhile, the fiery statements by several MKs, ministers, and Prime Minister Netanyahu himself have kept coming.

MK Yair Lapid attacked the flotilla Saturday, as "a form of provocation against the State of Israel of people who are anything but defenders of human rights."

US ‘playing with fire’ by extremely provocative moves, not Russia

The growing conflict between the United States and Russia over the Ukraine conflict is a result of Washington struggling to maintain its hegemony and making “extremely provocative moves” in Eastern Europe, according to an American political and economic scholar.

“The conflict that Washington has created with Russia is entirely Washington’s doing,” said Paul Craig Roberts, an economist who served as an assistant secretary of the treasury for economic policy in the Ronald Reagan administration.

Comforting a Baby is Violent

In an article I wrote a year ago, the following words appeared:

‘If a child is crying and you comfort them, you will (presumably unintentionally) scare them out of feeling their sadness when, in fact, their crying is a functional response to something not working out as the child wanted and for healing from this event. The same applies to fear, anger and all other feelings. Unfortunately, if we scare a child out of feeling their natural responses to events (by ignoring, comforting, reassuring, distracting, laughing at, ridiculing, terrorizing or violently controlling them when they express their feelings), the child has no choice but to unconsciously suppress their awareness of these feelings and they will not be able to identify the appropriate way forward: this reduces their power to respond functionally and powerfully to events in their life.’

Panicking Greeks withdraw billions from cash machines amid fears of exit from euro

‘Address Your Remarks To Downing Street’ –The Sunday Times Editor Deepens His Snowden Debacle

George Orwell once wrote:

'I really don't know which is more stinking, the Sunday Times or The Observer. I go from one to the other like an invalid turning from side to side in bed and getting no comfort which ever way he turns.' (George Orwell, quoted, Bernard Crick, George Orwell: A Life, p. 233, Penguin Books, 1992)

The competition remains fierce, but the Sunday Times edged marginally ahead with a recent front-page exclusive that stank to truly celestial heights. As we noted in our previous alert, the Sunday Times dramatically claimed that Russia and China had 'cracked the top-secret cache of files stolen by the fugitive US whistleblower Edward Snowden'. The 'exclusive story' contained precisely no evidence for its anonymous claims, no challenges to the assertions made and no journalistic balance. In a CNN interview the same day, lead reporter Tom Harper trashed his own credibility, and that of his paper, when he blurted:

Thousands of jobs lost in UK

Thousands of workers are losing their jobs across all sectors of the UK economy.

The losses belie the latest figures, hailed a miracle achievement by Prime Minister David Cameron, registering unemployment as dropping to a seven-year low of 5.5 percent. The figures only register the growth in low-paid, part-time, temporary and zero-hours contract jobs as the government drives people into cheap-labour employment in welfare to work programmes.

The Delphi Declaration - On Greece and Europe

Many readers of the European and American press must be confused about what actually is happening in the negotiations between Greece (Alexis Tsipras and Yannis Varoufakis). The European Troika (the IMF, European Central Bank and European Council now object to the name and want to be called simply “the Institutions”) have stepped up their demands on Syriza. What is called “negotiation” is in reality a demand for total surrender. The Troika’s demand is to force Syriza to go back on the campaign promises that it made to voters who replaced the old right-wing Pasok (“socialist”) and Conservative New Democracy coalition, or else simply apply the austerity program to which that coalition had agreed:cutbacks in pensions, deeper austerity, more privatization selloffs, and a tax shift off business onto labor. In short, economic suicide.

The Pentagon Goes Nuclear on Russia

Bets are off on what this huffin’ and puffin’ is all about. It could be about Russia daring to build a whole country close to so many NATO bases. It could be about a bunch of nutters itching to start a war on European soil to ultimately “liberate” all that precious oil, gas and minerals from Russia and the Central Asian “stans”.

Unfortunately, the whole thing is deadly serious.

NATO, meanwhile, gets ready for its next super production; Trident Juncture 2015, the largest NATO exercise after the end of the Cold War, to happen in Italy, Spain and Portugal from September 28 to November 6, with land, air and naval and special forces units of 33 countries (28 NATO plus five allies).

NATO spins it as a “high visibility and credibility” show testing its “Response Force” of 30,000 troops. And this is not only about Russia, or as a rehearsal in pre-positioning enough heavy weapons for 5,000 soldiers in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria and Hungary.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Russia has been a great deal more intelligent than has the US Pentagon on weapons spending.

Their weapons actually work, while US corporations continue to turn out shoddy, over-budget, way-past-deadline weapons which absolutely do not work as advertised.

US, NATO Powers Intensify Preparations for Nuclear War in Response to “Russian Aggression”

The NATO military alliance is preparing to implement a more aggressive nuclear weapons strategy in response to alleged “Russian aggression,” according to NATO sources cited by the Guardian Wednesday evening.

Proposed changes include provisions for greater involvement of nuclear forces in ongoing NATO military exercises along Russia’s borders and new guidelines for nuclear escalation against Russia, according to the NATO officials.

The alliance’s nuclear doctrine has been the subject of quiet, informal discussions “on the sidelines” of the ongoing NATO summit. The new policies will be formally articulated and confirmed at an upcoming conference of the alliance’s Nuclear Planning Group, which was rescheduled for an earlier date this week as word got around about the secretive planning.

Webmaster's Commentary:

We are being Conditized (as the fawning focus on Gary Condit and Chandra Levy right before 9/11) by the faux news presstitutes, while some very serious developments are taking place to which thinking Americans need to be paying attention are barely mentioned.

Call me silly, but a potential nuclear war against Russia by NATO is one of those issues.

But those in bowels of power in DC and NATO have a problem; they have zero credibility with the American people, and any proclaimed act of alleged "Russian belligerency" will not be accepted be accepted as the truth.

I am very concerned about a potential false flag against the US or US interests on the 4th of July, as a way to beat any last breath of skepticism on the part of the American people about who, really, is to blame, and who would actually benefit from such an atrocity.

A note to US and NATO leadership: if you are betting that this will work, as skeptical, broke, and war-weary as the American population is, you had really better think again.

10,000 Sue Syngenta Over Unapproved GMO Corn Shipped to China – U.S. Farmers Lose $5 Billion in Sales

Town hall meetings have been taking place recently regarding corn litigation with the Syngenta company.

The lawsuit is regarding claims that Syngenta sold genetically modified corn with a strain called MIR-162 to China without their approval of the modification.

“The first shipment that tested positive for MIR-162,” Hecker Law Group attorney Jacob Hecker said, “was destroyed by the Chinese in 2013. Afterwards all other shipments with trace amounts of the strain were sent back to where they came from.”

Due to the strain, China, who at the time was the third largest importer of US corn, boycotted all corn from being imported from the US.

America’s health care system is still broken: Why single-payer is the only thing that will ever fix it

Now, in other news yesterday, health care stocks were spiking on Wall Street: Insurers (UnitedHealth and Aetna) and corporate hospital networks (Hospital Corporation of America) were seeing strong gains. The link between these events is, of course, obvious: The Affordable Care Act’s premium subsidies are funneled through private health insurance companies, who take a cut. Corporate hospital chains, meanwhile, prefer a well-paying customer.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Enlightened countries in Europe have figured out how to make this work, contain costs, and give patients good care; why can't this country?!?

Several years ago, I had a really nasty cramp in my neck that would not let go.

My doctor, whose background was Spanish and Argentinian, had a talk about the fact that in Europe, I would most probably be seen by a nurse/practitioner, who would have diagnose me, and prescribed something to alleviate the cramp without the need to actually see a doctor.

The cost would have been substantially lower than it was.

Massive US Media Campaign Aims to Derail Iran Nuclear Deal

With the June 30 deadline for the Iran nuclear deal just days away, United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI), an organization bankrolled in large part by Republican super-hawk Sheldon Adelson, is stepping up in its typical role of spoiler, launching a new media campaign aimed at killed the pact.

UANI and its cohorts center the ads on dubiously-worded allegations of Iranian nuclear plots, and spurious claims of Iran “single-handedly” killing thousands of US ground troops during the Iraq occupation. The group’s latest campaign features demands more or less entirely in line with comments from hawkish Republican Senators in recent days, which are meant to be directly contrary to what Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei says he expects out of an acceptable deal.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Unfortunately in this country, money buys foreign policy in politics, so Adelson may not be that far from his goal of buying the destruction of the P5+1 deal.

There are many issues upon which I have very vocally criticised the Obama administration; this, however, is not one of them.

IF the US government allows the P5+1 deal to fail, it will have no one but itself (and Israel) to blame for the war which will almost inevitably ensue from the failure of the deal.

Gitmo Prisoner, Hunger-Striking for Nine Years, Cleared for Release

A U.S. government review board said Friday that Abdul Rahman Shalabi, a prisoner who has been on a nine-year hunger strike at the U.S. base at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, has been cleared to return to his native Saudi Arabia.

Shalabi, one of the first prisoners brought to Guantánamo in January 2002, was never charged with a crime. The government said he had been a bodyguard for Osama bin Laden and had links to al Qaeda's external operations chief, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, who is facing trial by military commission at Guantánamo.

30,000 Pound Bomb: U.S. Prepares To Strike Iran’s Nuke Facilities With Massive Ordnance Penetrator

As U.S. nuclear talks with Iran build to a head, with a June 30 deadline fast approaching to come to an agreement on how Iran will move forward with its nuclear program, the U.S. Air Force has been rehearsing with a 30,000 pound bunker busting bomb in case Iran continues toward developing nuclear weapons.

The bomb is called the Massive Ordnance Penetrator, or MOP, and is the largest non-nuclear weapon in the world. The massive bomb is designed to take on highly fortified and underground targets, with an ability to burrow 200 feet into the ground or through 60 feet of concrete, and then detonating.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am having a palm to forehead moment, at velocity, upon reading this.

And Iran's government can barely be characterised as "defiant" with a straight face by anyone who has been watching these negotiations; there are certain things to which they have NEVER agreed, that the US claims they have, such as inspection of all military sites, and interviews with their nuclear scientists on demand.

Over the last 20 years, I have been on a journey from a place, an America I thought I knew and understood, to an America where its foreign policy has devolved into apoplectic power grabs by its money junkies in power to own all the world's resources, no matter the cost to its citizens or the world.

I do not recognise this country anymore.

Number of refugees from Ukraine exceeding 900,000, says UN report

Number of Ukrainians who have fled to neighboring countries after the outbreak of the armed civil conflict in Donbass in spring 2014 has exceeded 900,000 and most of them have found shelter in Russia, of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees said in a report on Friday.
Information from governmental sources in the host countries suggests that the overall number of refugees seeking shelter or looking for other legal forms of residence in neighboring states has reached 900,300 people and most of them, or 746,000 have headed for Russia.

‘Your worst nightmare': Bill Maher blames Tea Party for creating Trump’s ‘Frankenstein’ campaign

Real Time host Bill Maher said on Friday that is not willing to dismiss reality TV star Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, even if it’s unpalatable to him.

“He makes everybody else look like a midget — not in a good way,” Maher told his panelists. “Here’s the thing about Donald Trump: he never apologizes, he’s never wrong, no matter what crazy thing he says. He’s the white Kanye. For a party whose base adores belligerence, the guy.”

While guests Mary Katherine Ham and Kristen Soltis Anderson argued that Trump’s run for the GOP presidential nomination will falter, Maher pushed back.

“It’s not going away,” he insisted. “This is the Frankenstein monster that was created with the Tea Party. This is your worst nightmare. Because he catapulted to second in the polls — and by the way, he’s p*ssed about that.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

I have what I would characterize as a "hug and a (gentle) punch" with Maher's work; sometimes, he makes me laugh, because he is brilliantly insightful; other times, he makes me furious, because he can never seem to see the flaws, foul-ups and blunders in the party which he has embraced with almost religious fervor.

But in one way, Maher is correct in his assessment; there are enough wounded Republicans (particularly males) who see Trump as their "rockstar/saviour", because he panders to their worst fears, and wants to re-imagine the country as it was at least half a decade ago.

But the issue of illegal immigration is a complex problem, in which both parties are complicit, because children of illegal immigrants who are born here are automatically citizens; that's the way the law works in this country, until it is revised to state that children born of illegal aliens are considered citizens of their parent's country of origin.

The Democratic party has cynically calculated that nationalizing illegals will overwhelm the Republican party, and give them a majority in government forever, but they are forgetting one thing; may immigrants from Central and South America have very conservative, family and religiously oriented values, which may swing their voting away from the Democrats.

Also, the corporations supporting our alleged Congressional representatives on BOTH sides of the aisle love illegal labor because it cuts down the cost of doing business, and puts American citizens out of their jobs, if they will not accept the serf-level wages they are offering.

And many of the governments from which these people are desperately running away are US-sponsored dictatorships.

And hell, Trump is rich enough to BUY this election, if he so desires, and since money equates to "free speech" after the Citizens United decision, he may well do it.

And my problem with the 2016 election is that there is not one candidate running for whom I could vote with a clear conscience right now.

US TO BEGIN INVASION OF SYRIA

Unbeknownst to the general public, their elected politicians do not create the policy that binds their national destiny domestically or within the arena of geopolitics. Instead, corporate-financier funded think tanks do – teams of unelected policymakers which transcend elections, and which produce papers that then become the foundation of legislation rubber stamped by “legislators,” as well as the enumerated talking points repeated ad naseum by the corporate-media.

Such a policy paper has been recently written by the notorious US policy think-tank, the Brookings Institution, titled, “Deconstructing Syria: Towards a regionalized strategy for a confederal country.” The signed and dated open-conspiracy to divide, destroy, then incrementally occupy a sovereign nation thousands of miles from America’s shores serves as a sobering example of how dangerous and enduring modern imperialism is, even in the 21st century.

Pretext ISIS: US Poured Billions Into “Moderates” Who Don’t Exist

Webmaster's Commentary:

The overthrow of the al-Assad government will lead to an Iran standing pretty much alone in the region, which is the design intent, to give the US more "sway" in the P5+1 nuclear talks, and possibly attempt to create regime change in Tehran.

But considering just how "swimmingly" the US invasion and occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan have gone, coupled with the overthrow Qaddafi in Libya, and US intervention in Somalia, one might think that there might be just a "soupcon" of hesitancy by the US government to want to do this.

But of course, we are continuing to deal with a US government where one of the prime, critical criteria for employment is an absolutely pathological inability to think any scenario through to its logical conclusion.

And there is, unmentioned, the 500 lb gorilla in the living room, comfortably draped over the Bechstein piano, which no one, apparently, in the American government dares mention; that is Russia.

Although the deal with Cyprus this year has given Russians an alternative to their warm water port in Tartus, there is a question of how much aggression in Syria the US can conjure before Putin feels compelled to act in some manner, militarily. His moves here may be very asymmetric, but no less effective than direct military moves against the US.

And I would very much like to remind those in the US government and military that at this point in its history, the US military doesn't have the troop strength, the money, or the manufacturing to insure a positive outcome to a conventional war against Russia; and that is what makes military aggression against it so dangerous.
