Displacement Of Syrians For Uyghur Terrorists In Syria?

By Afraa Dagher

In 1948, during the Nakba, or Palestinian Exodus, the Palestinian tragedy began in earnest. Palestinian Refugees were spread out all over the world but most were divided between Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.

Today there is another tragedy of displacement – Syria. Since 2011, the year of the color revolution and destabilization, engineered and designed by Israel and the West, Syrian society and the population as a whole has been torn apart...

The Refugees Didn’t Realize This European Woman Was Fluent in Arabic

This woman tells the story of what happened when her train to Vienna was besieged by migrants in Budapest. These people didn’t realize that the European woman was fluent in Arabic, and she overheard and understood everything being said around her.

A band of overwhelmingly adult male migrants (they try to spin it in the media like these waves of refugees are mostly women and children, but it’s not true) stormed her train car and casually threatened to take the five people who bought tickets hostage thinking no one else could understand what they were really saying.

Obama, Putin clash over vision for resolving Syrian crisis

US President Barack Obama and Russian President Vladimir Putin clashed over their competing visions for Syria, with Obama urging a political transition to replace the Syrian president but Putin warning it would be a mistake to abandon the current government.

Obama and Putin's dueling speeches at a United Nations General Assembly summit served as a public preview of their private meeting late Monday. The sit-down marks their first face-to-face encounter in nearly a year and comes amid escalating Russian military engagement in Syria.

Obama said he was open to working with Russia, as well as Iran, to bring Syria's civil war to an end. He called for a "managed transition" that would result in the ouster of Syrian President Bashar Assad, whose forces have clashed with rebels for more than four years, creating a vacuum for the Islamic State and other extremist groups. UN enthusiastic about idea of Baghdad-based center to coordinate anti-IS efforts

The United Nations is enthusiastic about the idea of establishing a Russia-Iraq-Iran-Syria coordination center in Baghdad to counter the terrorist organization Islamic State, UN Deputy Spokesman Farhan Haq told TASS on Monday. On Sunday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said the new centrer would be tasked to coordinate anti-terrorist efforts of the four countries.
A military-diplomatic source told TASS earlier that Russia, Syria, Iran and Iraq had established an information center in Baghdad for coordinating efforts in fighting against the Islamic State (IS).

Putin to UN: Export of so-called democratic revolutions continues globally

The export of the so-called democratic revolutions continues, as the international community fails to learn from mistakes, which have already been made, Russian President Vladimir Putin said addressing the UNGA.

He cited the example of the revolutions in the Middle East, when people wished for change, “but how did that turn out?”

He said that instead of triumph of democracy “we have violence and social disaster,” where no one cares about human rights, including the right to life.

Israel Attacks Syria After Stray Rocket, Hits Three Army Sites

As the Syrian Civil War continues to rage, fighting in the Golan led to a “stray rocket” firing across the border into the Israeli-occupied Golan, hitting an empty field and doing no damage. Israel, as expected, was furiously denouncing this as a “violation of sovereignty.”

So Israel’s military did what it usually does, and started attacking random Syrian military posts, with the military bragging of major damage done to three different bases in southern Syria in “retaliation” for a rocket that officials conceded they had no evidence the Syrian military fired in the first place.

It is the first Hezbollah armored brigade composed of new T-72 and T-55 tanks to support the group’ Special Forces on the ground.

The Obama administration needs to own up to the quagmire in Syria

The crisis in Syria is still in full throttle. President Obama pretends to be a powerless bystander in Syria when in fact US policy has played an important role in creating the quagmire now playing out. For example, the events of this past weekend present a microcosm of how US policy has failed and it’s time for the US president to take responsibility and to change US policy while he still has a chance.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Sadly, to judge by the speech Obama is giving to the United Nations, it looks like Obama is trying to preserve the status quo for the war machine.

FLASHBACK - Russian President Vladimir Putin: So who created ISIS, anyway?

In 2014, President Obama named the three major threats to US national security; ISIS, Russia and Ebola (because spiraling national debt, unequal distribution of wealth, over-incarceration, climate change etc. are less pressing issues.)

It would be fair to say that Russian politicians took much offence to being placed in this list, next to a terror organisation and a disease.

US On The Ropes: China To Join Russian Military In Syria While Iraq Strikes Intel Deal With Moscow, Tehran

Last Thursday, we asked if China was set to join Russia and Iran in support of the Assad regime in Syria.

Our interest was piqued when the pro-Assad Al-Masdar (citing an unnamed SAA “senior officer”), said Chinese “personnel and aerial assets” are set to arrive within weeks. To the uninitiated, this may seem to have come out of left field, so to speak. However, anyone who has followed the conflict and who knows a bit about the global balance of power is aware that Beijing has for some time expressed its support for Damascus, most notably by voting with Russia to veto a Security Council resolution that would have seen the conflict in Syria referred to the Hague.

Russia seizes initiative in Syria crisis; France bombs Islamic State

A senior State Department official said if the Russians were going to play a greater role in the fight against Islamic State, it was essential to have talks on "de-confliction" - measures to avert inadvertent clashes between the militaries.

"We are just at the beginning of trying to understand what the Russians' intentions are in Syria, in Iraq, and to try to see if there are mutually beneficial ways forward here. We have got a long way to go in that conversation," the official said.

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg told Reuters he was ready to discuss Syria with Russia and stressed the need for coordination to avoid any "incident or accident" between Russian forces and U.S.-led forces fighting Islamic State.

The two rounds, the Israeli army said, were likely errant fire from the fighting between regime and rebel forces close to the border.

The targets of the Israeli strike were two army posts in the central Golan Heights on the Syrian side of the border, the IDF Spokesperson's Unit said in a statement.

Troops for Syria a Putin masterstroke

Russian President Vladimir Putin's dramatic deployment of soldiers, weapons and aircraft to Syria is aimed at reshaping not just a civil war on the edge of the Mediterranean but Russia's standing in the world community.

Moscow has been isolated for years by sanctions slapped on the country as punishment for its annexation of Crimea and support for separatists in eastern Ukraine.

Doubling down on his support for the Syrian regime, Putin sent a clear signal there would be no solution to the bloody quagmire without Moscow.

The United Nations General Assembly in New York this week offers an opportunity for world leaders to inject new momentum into international talks on Syria, especially as attendees include United States President Barack Obama and Putin.

Former British general calls for no-fly zone over north-west Syria

One of Britain’s most senior retired generals has called for the implementation of a no-fly zone in Syria and said the situation in the country is now so serious that “doing nothing is no longer an option”.

Lieutenant General Sir Graeme Lamb, a former director of the SAS and one of the architects of the Iraq “surge” strategy, said a no-fly zone over north-west Syria would protect civilians and stem the tide of refugees from the area.

Lamb told the Guardian that the proposition for a safe zone where civilians could be safe from aerial attack by President Bashar al-Assad’s forces “demands a careful but quick analysis” before finding regional and international support to put it into effect.

Obama, Putin to meet at a defining moment

The Russian state agency TASS is not given to speculating on the Kremlin leader’s activities. It is a ground rule set by Joseph Stalin when the agency was created in 1925. Therefore, we must accept as ‘breaking news’ the TASS’ Washington dateline report quoting ‘an informed source’ to the effect that a meeting between Russian president Vladimir Putin and US resident Barack Obama will take place next week on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly session.

Obama will do well to cut his way through the neocon shibboleth and comprehend that Russia has been largely reactive – be it in Ukraine, Syria or Afghanistan or on missile defence and the global strategic stability – whereas, the US has trampled on Russia’s vital and legitimate interests and core concerns like a rogue elephant. Amends need to be made. For far too long, Obama chose to tread the trodden path set by Bill Clinton and George W. Bush in the direction of ‘containment’ of Russia.

Russia Checks Western Lies on Syria

You have to hand it to Russia. In recent weeks, one move after another by Moscow over the Syrian crisis could be accompanied by the audible word “check”, leaving Washington and its minions grappling with disorientation about how to respond to the Russian moves. At the heart of the West’s disorientation what is being exposed is its glaring criminal deceptions over Syria. This week, Russian foreign ministry spokeswoman Maria Zahkarova probed the Western rationale towards Syria with this incisive proposition.
She said that if Washington insists that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad should stand down, then the United States government should henceforth remove its signature from the 2012 Geneva Communiqué. The same logical ultimatum applies to Britain and France.

"It is known, that China has joined our military operation in Syria, the Chinese cruiser has already entered the Mediterranean, aircraft carrier follows it," Morozov said. According to him, Iran may soon join the operation carried out by Russia against the IS terrorists, via Hezbollah. Thus, the Russian coalition in the region gains ground, and most reasonable step of the US would be to join it. Although the stance of Moscow and Washington on the ways of settlement of the Syrian conflict differs, nonetheless, low efficiency of the US coalition acts against terrorists is obvious. Islamists have just strengthened their positions.

U.S.-Backed Jihadists Falter; Liberation Imminent for Palmyra?

By Brandon Turbeville

Over the past week, things haven’t been going as well as they normally do for the Western-backed terrorists who have raped and beheaded their way across Syria for the last four years. Likewise, the Western plot to overthrow Assad and replace him with chaos and a weak jihadist/impotent government over four years ago has gone from a quagmire to the beginnings of a reversal...

'Tacit agreement' between US, Russia to end Syria war: Assad adviser

Russia and the United States have reached a "tacit agreement" on ending Syria's bloody crisis, a senior adviser to Syrian President Bashar Assad has said.

"The current U.S. administration wants to find a solution to the crisis in Syria. There is a tacit agreement between the U.S. and Russia to reach this solution," Bouthaina Shaaban said in an interview with state television late Wednesday.

"The U.S. recognizes now that Russia has profound knowledge of this region and a better assessment of the situation," she said.

"The current international climate is heading towards detente and towards a solution for the crisis in Syria."

AIPAC’s Democrat Problems Go Beyond Obama

Last week, journalists Josh Rogin and Eli Lake published a piece at Bloomberg Businessweek explaining how the influential pro-Israel lobby AIPAC came to be defeated in the biggest fight in a generation. The story holds important truths. It’s essentially about the tough spot AIPAC was put in by the Obama administration’s hardball tactics to protect the achievement of the nuclear deal with Iran, hardly a surprise given the stakes at hand.

China ready to send troops to Syria if the Assad regime is threatened

High source of Hezbollah said the radio "Voice of Beirut" that China will help Bashar al-Assad, if the Chinese leadership is considered that the survival of the Syrian regime in danger.
According to sources from Hezbollah, the official Beijing has no intention to restrict symbolic participation. They also argue that the transfer of soldiers People's Liberation Army of China in Syria can begin in the near future.
At the same time, representatives of the Syrian opposition advise that similar statements Hezbollah take with a grain of salt. In their view, it is a propaganda campaign Assad, whose aim is that his regime is benefiting from international support.
Recall, in the leadership of the EU is a noticeable rift on the future of Bashar al-Assad. Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel became the first influential Western leader who has abandoned the requirement to replace the Syrian leader. Against that, he was President of France Francois Hollande.

But the Russian presence may be disturbing to the ongoing insanity in another sense altogether, one that Western hawks surely have to be contemplating. Consider this story shared by Mr. S.D.:

Reuters: Russian Boots on Ground in Syria Seeking to Destroy Western Created ISIS

Before we even tackle the article itself, note two prominent factors right off the bat: (1) the title of the article: Russian Boots on Ground in Syria Seeking to Destroy Western Created ISIS,(emphasis added) and (2) the fact that it is Reuters which has run the story under this headline. This is not an alternative news source, this is not internet conspiracy theory, this is very much a mainstream western newswire service, and that is indicative, I suggest in one component of my high octane speculation (and as we'll see shortly, fantasy), of growing "dissent in the ranks" within the West itself, or, if one prefers, some major "factional infighting" in the "house that NATO built."

The intervention of the CSTO (Collective Security Treaty Organisation) against terrorism in Iraq and Syria may be the beginning of a world order based on the cooperation and defence of civilian populations, or, on the contrary, a period of East-West confrontation in which the West openly supports terrorism. Contrary to popular belief, this military deployment is aimed less at defending Iraq and the Syrian Arab Republic than the members of the CSTO themselves. It is therefore not negotiable. The debates in the UNO General Assembly and Security Council on the 30th September will reveal the response of Washinton and its allies. In any case, nothing will ever be the same.

“Doomsday vault” opened because of war in Syria

Global Seed Vault located on the Norwegian island of Spitsbergen will open its reserves because of destroyed seed vault in Aleppo. The International Center for Agricultural Research in Dry Areas (ICARDA) asked for help, as it had to move to Beirut after the unique seed vault had been destroyed in the Syrian Aleppo during the military operations. ICARDA asked for seed samples, which can be grown in the dry areas of the Middle East. In total, about 116,000 samples of various seeds are required. The global seed vault built on Spitsbergen comprises about 860,000 seed samples from all of the world regions in case of a global catastrophe. Countries, which sent their seeds, may take them back if needed. The vault is well-secured and is able to preserve the seeds for two centuries even if people stop taking care of them. The unique bank was opened in 2008 with the alleged storage for up to 10,000 years. There have been no requests to the global seed vault before.

Update: A US petition calling for Netanyahu’s arrest

Benjamin Netanyahu is to hold talks in New york this September. Under international law he should be arrested for war crimes upon arrival in the U.S for the massacre of over 2000 civilians in 2014.

Why the huge difference between US and the Brits?

Last summer, Israel launched Operation Protective Edge, a bloody war against Gaza that killed about 2,300 Palestinians, the vast majority of whom were civilians, including over 500 children. The attack also devastated Gaza’s infrastructure, and left about 500,000 people displaced or homeless. These war crimes and others, like Israel’s recent attack on the Freedom Flotilla, which sought to bring medical aid and solar panels to the Port of Gaza, have given rise to increased calls for Israel to be tried before the International Criminal Court.

In one of the most audacious attacks, in 1981, Iran’s prime minister Mohammad Javad Bahonar and the country’s president Modhammad Ali Rajai were both killed in a bomb blast carried out on the premier’s residence in the capital, Tehran.

All Republican Presidential Candidates Stand For War

There is not a peaceful person among the Republican candidates. Even the female is heartless.

Here is Carla Fiorina at the debate describing the way she will lead us to Armageddon. She won’t talk to Putin, but she will send him “the message” via military threats:

“Having met Vladimir Putin, I wouldn’t talk to him at all. We’ve talked way too much to him. What I would do, immediately, is begin rebuilding the Sixth Fleet, I would begin rebuilding the missile defense program in Poland, I would conduct regular, aggressive military exercises in the Baltic states. I’d probably send a few thousand more troops into Germany. Vladimir Putin would get the message. . . . Russia is a bad actor, but Vladimir Putin is someone we should not talk to, because the only way he will stop is to sense strength and resolve on the other side, and we have all of that within our control. We could rebuild the Sixth Fleet. I will. We haven’t. We could rebuild the missile defense program. We haven’t. I will.”

US never expected Russian deployment in Syria: Analyst

The United States never expected that Russia would deploy tactical military equipment to Syria to help resolve the years-long crisis that was created for the benefit of Israel, says a former US congressional staffer.

“The original policy was to destabilize nations in the Middle East for the benefit of Israel and I think the Russian deployment is something that they didn’t think would ever happen,” Rodney Martin told Press TV on Monday.

“I don’t think the United States figured that the Russians would ever deploy air forces and heavy armament and troops outside the territories of the Russian Federation ever again after the collapse of the Soviet Union,” he noted.

Russia has reportedly sent artillery units and tanks as well as dozens of personnel to Syria. US defense officials have said Russia moved fighter jets to a base near Latakia on Friday.

Russia has begun drone surveillance missions in Syria, US defense officials said Monday. The move marks Moscow's first military air operations there since undertaking a rapid buildup at a Syrian air base.

US officials said the drone operations appear to based out of the air base near the western port city of Latakia, where last week a monitoring group said Russia was working to extend an airstrip near a military airport.

The start of the drone flights highlights the risks of Russian aircraft operating in the same airspace as US-led coalition planes, as the two Cold War rivals have not agreed on coordination or objectives in Syria's civil war.

It has become common to discount any criticism of US foreign policy as “blaming America first.” It is a convenient way of avoiding a real discussion. If aggressive US policy in the Middle East – for example in Iraq – results in the creation of terrorist organizations like al-Qaeda in Iraq, is pointing out the unintended consequences of bad policy blaming America? Is it “blaming America” to point out that blowback – like we saw on 9/11 – can be the result of unwise US foreign policy actions like stationing US troops in Saudi Arabia?

Report: Russian Marines Battle ISIS In Syria, IS Possesses “Satellite Imagery” Of Base

Yet, while the Russian marines fighting off ISIS attacks is news enough, perhaps the most important revelation is that, according to Segodnia, the ISIS fighters apparently had detailed plans of the base as well as clear satellite imagery of the military installations located there.

The question then becomes, how did ISIS, a terrorist organization which has yet to launch its own satellites into orbit, acquire such sensitive and important material?

If the Segodnia report is to be believed, and with the United States, NATO, Israel, and the GCC, having supported the death squads in Syria, it seems we may have some idea of where they were able to procure satellite images.

Putin's Consistency on Syria Has Washington Fuming

It is increasingly difficult to watch the most recent coverage of the Syrian war and not be struck by how utterly illogical and convoluted it has become. But look through the media spin and it’s clear: the Russian leader's steady moves in Syria are perplexing the US.

Whether it's the latest neocon claim that the way to ‘help’ refugees is to drop more bombs and train more Al-Qaeda-linked rebels, or the conveniently-timed mass hysteria over Russia's (never secret) support for Bashar Assad — or even the strange (and completely false) notion floating around that the West has 'done nothing' in Syria, all of this nonsense is becoming very difficult to take seriously.

Al-Moallem: Russia’s participation in fighting terrorism will turn the tables on the conspirators

Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem said Russia’s participation in fighting Jabhat al-Nusra and ISIS terrorist organizations will turn the tables on those who plotted conspiracies against Syria.

“There is something new beyond (Russia) providing Syria with weapons, which is Russia engaging in fighting ISIS and Jabhat al-Nusra,” said al-Moallem in an interview with the Russian RT channel that was aired on Saturday.

“This is a major issue. It is something that will turn the tables on those who conspired against Syria and will show that the US and its coalition have had no strategy for combating ISIS, and the evidence is that they have grasped the Russian message and now want to coordinate and cooperate with Russia,” al-Moallem added.
