Diplomat: Syria has four chemical weapons facilities it didn't disclose

Syria has four chemical weapons facilities that it did not previously disclose to the United Nations, a Western diplomat told CNN on Tuesday.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What they are not saying is that Syria disclosed them now. And even the UN is admitting there are no chemical weapons at these facilities. The US is desperate to trick Americans into a war on Assad.

The U.S. Preparing For The Real Mission In Syria, The Removal Of Assad

Japan is in a triple dip recession. IMF slices Euro zone growth. Unemployed people protest the European central bank. US hiring plummets and the corporate media reports that the holiday retail season looks promising. One third of auto loans are sub-prime. Research study concludes Obamacare will destroy jobs. Walmart will not insure those employees who work less than 30 hours. Many protocols not followed during Ebola treatment, is Ebola a hoax or is there another agenda. Islamic state gives rules to journalist, everything must be approved by them. US clearing the path to clear the northern border of Syria and Turkey for a no fly zone and the ability to attack Assad.

First USA bombs Syria to get ISIS. Now they claim they must remove Assad to get ISIS

The airstrikes ordered by President Barack Obama have begun to degrade the Islamic State (ISIS), but will not be capable of eradicating the militant group unless Syrian President Bashar Assad is overthrown, say Arizona Sen. John McCain and South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Okay, John and Lindsey, if you really feel that way, here are your rifles! Here are your parachutes. We ran out of the desert camo but here are a couple bright day-glo jumpsuits left over from the CIA torture centers. Watch your heads climbing into that transport plane, and we will call Assad and tell him you are on your way to kick his gluteus maximus all by yourself.

But We The People remember how the US Government has been trying to take over Syria using hired mercenaries for the last three years. We The People remember how you lied about Assad gassing his own people to trick us into war, which didn't work because we still remember how you lied about Saddam's nuclear weapons and stolen incubators to trick us into war with Iraq, and we remember how you lied about torpedoes in the Gulf of Tonkin to trick us into war with Vietnam, and how you lied to us about the Lusitania not carrying weapons to trick us into WW1, and how you lied about a Spanish mine in Havana harbor sinking the USS Maine to trick us into war with Spain ... need I go on?

So you will forgive us if we sit this next war for conquest and enrichment out and keep our children safe at home. But feel free to attack Assad all by yourself, and we will watch safely from home, as you in the government have always done when it was our children being killed and crippled in wars ultimately fought for the bankers!

Heading for Ground War in Syria and Iraq

Is Former Israeli IDF Officer Behind Fake Videos of Beheadings?

Both videos when viewed are strangely similar. In both, a black-hooded executioner, nicknamed in the British press as “Jihadi John” for his strong London accent (!), supposedly takes a sharp knife to the throat of a kneeling, orange-clad James Foley and Steve Sotloff. Then, curiously, Jihadi John begins ostensibly slashing the throats of each, not once, but six times….not a drop of blood. Both Foley and Sotloff bravely kneel, head upright, no knee-jerk avoidance reaction one would expect. Then, just when the heads should be severed, in each, there is a blackout. Next scene: body on ground, head sitting atop. Professionally staged. Look for yourself.

The Law of Futility: Air Strikes Against the Islamic State

War is a dirty, unforgiving business. It is not rendered clean by remote deployments and orders executed at a distance from seemingly safe areas. It takes lives, inflicts unspeakable harm, and rarely brings smiles to those who suffer it. But the members of the US-led coalition currently involved in striking Islamic State targets in Syria and Iraq would have you think otherwise. They give the impression that clean distances are golden, and air strikes will have their intended “degrading” effect. Therein lies the message about the false salvation of machinery – the technological panacea that rarely does what it is meant to.

Pentagon can’t decide which rebels to train in Syria

As reports surfaced on Monday suggesting the group that calls itself the Islamic State is close to capturing the Syrian town of Kobani, The Guardian revealed that the Pentagon is still far from taking the next steps towards tackling the militants.

Despite American officials warning for weeks now that the group formerly known as ISIS poses a dire risk to the Middle East and the security of the United States and its allies, representatives for the Pentagon acknowledged to the British paper that efforts to organize a trained army to go up against the violent militants have yet to materialize.

NATO says will protect Turkey against ISIL militants

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) has expressed its readiness to defend Turkey as a member state in the face of attacks from the ISIL Takfiri militants.

"Turkey should know that NATO will be there if there is any spillover, any attacks on Turkey as a consequence of the violence we see in Syria," Stoltenberg said.

FBI Director Warns of ‘Khorasan’ Threat

In comments on today’s “60 Minutes” program, FBI Director James Comey warned that the Khorasan group is “serious people, bent of destruction” who plan to attack the US “very, very soon.”

Comey insisted the US had to act as if the Khorasan strike was “coming tomorrow,” but conceded that they don’t know whether they plan to attack “tomorrow or three weeks or three months from now.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Memo to FBI Director Comey: if there is a "big bang" in this country, it will mean that neither you, the NSA, the CIA, or the FBI, or military intelligence has been able to protect us, and should be collectively SACKED instantly after such an event occurs.

And the US government has another serious problem: few Americans believe ANYTHING this government says anymore, because it has completely paralyzed and crippled its own credibility.

Should there be a crisis inside this country (like a real, exponential outbreak of ebola here), even if the information the government was disseminating was accurate, it would not be believed.

Even if we defeat the Islamic State, we’ll still lose the bigger war

As America’s efforts to “degrade and ultimately destroy” Islamic State militants extend into Syria, Iraq War III has seamlessly morphed into Greater Middle East Battlefield XIV. That is, Syria has become at least the 14th country in the Islamic world that U.S. forces have invaded or occupied or bombed, and in which American soldiers have killed or been killed. And that’s just since 1980.

Biden Admits the Origin of ISIS

US Vice President Joe Biden has made the latest in a series of chastening apologies, after the United Arab Emirates expressed “astonishment” at his Thursday remarks. Biden called US allies “the biggest problem” in fighting terrorism in the Middle East.

“The UAE’s counter-terrorism approach reflects a pioneering national commitment that recognises the extent of the danger posed by terrorism to the region and to its people,” said Gargash in a press release.

The assertions were in stark contrast to the incendiary remarks Biden uttered in an unguarded moment during a Q&A at Harvard University on Thursday, in which the official accused the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey of inciting radical Sunni elements to raise their weapons against Assad, who belongs to a sect of Shia Islam.

From Ukraine to Syria: UN’s Selective Defense of Human Rights

For the past several years, the United Nations has served as a platform for Syria’s enemies to air allegations of human rights abuses and even attempts to use such allegations to justify military aggression against Syria itself. Tales of “barrel bombs” being used against civilians, the bombardment of enemy positions at the cost of civilian lives and the destruction of vital infrastructure have all been constructs in the West’s narrative against the Syrian government.

Now that the US is itself bombing Syria, killing Syrians including innocent men, women and children, as well as vital infrastructure local populations depend on for their survival, the UN has grown suddenly quiet.

Who Will Profit From the Wars in Iraq and Syria?

If there's one thing we should have learned over the past 13 years of war, it's that war is good business for those in the business of war. Unfortunately, while profits for the Pentagon's contractors increase, so does the cost to taxpayers in billions in waste, fraud, and abuse. As America embarks on yet another war in the Middle East, Congress needs to act now to stop this unjustified bonanza for the Pentagon's contractors.

The most recent wars in Iraq and Afghanistan offer an ominous example about what can happen when the rush to war is met with sharp spending increases coupled with little to no oversight or fiscal restraint. The Commission on Wartime Contracting -- a bipartisan congressional body -- estimates that there was $30 to $60 billion in waste, fraud and abuse associated with the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan -- a total of $12 million per day. Even worse, at least $6 billion is completely missing, never accounted for, gone forever.

What Civilian Casualties? To Barack Obama, Women And Children In Syria And Iraq Are A Subhuman Species

One former Obama administration official said the new White House statement raises questions about how the U.S. intends to proceed in the conflict in Syria and Iraq, and under what legal authorities.

Wait, someone actually wondered under what legal authority the Obama administration is killing innocent people? How dare they: don't they know Obama has a Nobel peace prize, so none of his actions are subject to any scrutiny: surely the president himself is his own best moral censor.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am deeply concerned that these strikes, which are both deeply immoral and illegal in the extreme, are going to a larger regional war which, at some point, will include Russia.

As an American who cares deeply about the future road her country is taking, I cannot support them at all. All people in the world should have the right to peaceful self-determination.

But then again, in the grand scheme of things which originate in Sodom on the Potomac, this may be precisely the plan by those in the bowels of power in DC: a regional war which ultimately leads to war with Russia.

I would very politely like to point out that there is no guarantee of a positive outcome to such a war with Russia, because the US military doesn't have the money, the troop strength, or the manufacturing to insure such an outcome.

And that is what makes the military scenario so scarily dangerous.

US pins blame for ISIS rise on Arab allies arming rebels

This War is Not Aimed at ISIS, But at Assad

That ISIS have been emboldened, or even created, by the West’s insistence on supporting the armed insurgency in Syria over the past three years – pouring money, weapons and training (including even in public relations) into the hands of fighters of all shades – was admitted again and again by MPs from all parties, as was the reality that it was precisely the dysfunctional state bequeathed by the occupation that had allowed ISIS to take root in Iraq. But those very same MPs then almost all went on to explain that would be voting (‘reluctantly’, ‘with a heavy heart’, etc etc etc) for the government’s motion. The implicit argument was that, yes, we have being doing the wrong thing for the past three years (or past eleven years); but now we have a chance to put it right; indeed it is precisely because we helped create the ‘beast’ that we must now help to kill it.

Israel Lobby Supports Jabhat Al-Nusra, Insurgents In Aleppo Surrounded

There seems to be no concern in Tel Aviv that one day Jabhat al-Nusra could turn against Israel too. That is somewhat astonishing as both Hizbullah and Hamas started with Israeli support as counterweights to the Palestinian Liberation Organization only to later become the most capable foes of the Israeli occupation forces. One might have thought that Israeli strategists had learned from such foolishness.

But obviously they have not and now their lobby in the United States, here in form of theWashington Institute, supports that dumb policy by calling for further support for the Al-Qaida affiliate:

The risk of empowering an al Qaida affiliate is a small price to pay for Nusra’s contributions on the battlefield, said Jeffrey White, a former senior Defense Intelligence Agency analyst who’s now with the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, a think tank.

Syrian air-strikes: Does the US have the foggiest idea who their enemy is?

The fog of war has been a recurrent theme through time, the confusion and misapprehension that comes amid the clamour and fury of combat. Even in these early days of the war against Isis, the fog appears to be descending fast with no clear strategy in view and a moving gallery of enemies.

Barack Obama admits that his administration underestimated the threat posed by Isis and overestimated the capabilities of the Iraqi military. This is surprising; the rise to dominance of the Islamist group in Syria, and the damage done by former Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki to his country’s forces through sectarian policies had been extensively charted by the media.

The real confusion began when the campaign moved on to Syria, a necessary step. Instead of just attacking Isis, the US also bombed Jabhat al-Nusra, affiliated to al-Qaeda but which had fought against Isis and was loosely allied with the “moderate” rebels whom the West is sponsoring.

Turkish lawmakers voted Thursday to authorize military force against ISIS in Syria and Iraq, joining a growing international coalition against the Islamist militants as they continued to capture territory just south of Turkey's border.

US targets Syria infrastructure rather than militants: Sabrosky

The United States’ airstrikes in Syria often target militants with “no military value” and actually aim at the country’s infrastructure, says a US Marine Corps veteran.

Alan Sabrosky (Ph.D, University of Michigan) made the remarks in a phone interview with Press TV on Tuesday while commenting on Washington-led coalition airstrikes in Syria that began last week.

“What I can see happening is that the targets they’re selecting are those that have, in many cases, no military value at all to ISIS or any other rebel group but really are intended to break whatever infrastructure the Syrian government will have when the fighting is over,” Sabrosky said.

"ISIL crisis" plays right into Zionists hands

Rahm Emanuel, President Obama's first Chief of Staff – who also served as Obama's Israeli Mossad handler – famously said: "You never let a serious crisis go to waste. And what I mean by that it's an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before."

Individuals, groups, whole industries, even nations sometimes take advantage of crises and catastrophes. Big bankers, for example, love war because it forces governments to borrow vast sums of money at compound interest. Arms manufacturers also make huge profits. And the big government always gets bigger during wartime as it confiscates people's wealth and scales back their rights.

Boehner might bring Congress back for Syria debate after all

Just days after suggesting lawmakers might not debate U.S. military involvement in Syria until next year, House Speaker John Boehner said he'd agree to call Congress back into session to vote if President Barack Obama sends up a resolution asking for the authority.

Boehner told ABC's George Stephanopoulos that if the President wanted a vote, "I'd bring the Congress back" -- never mind that the U.S. has already begun airstrikes inside Syria as part of a coalition.

Boehner hopes the President requests and sends up an authorization for use of military force as soon as possible," his spokesman, Michael Steel, told CNN Monday.

Boehner left a much different impression in an interview published Thursday in The New York Times.

US Expands Syria Strikes: Not Just a War Against ISIS

US airstrikes seem to be expanding in scope today in Syria, with four different provinces of the country hit in attacks, including areas where ISIS is virtually non-existent.

President Obama has been insisting it is an oversimplification to say this war is America versus ISIS. Indeed, that’s the case, but while the president is seeking to downplay the scope of the conflict, the signs are that he’s at war with actually a much broader swath of the Syrian rebellion.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It is obvious to even a casual observer of the current geopolitical scene that these bombings of Syria are engineered to generate regime change in Damascus.

The questions which need to be asked are, will Al-Assad attempt invoke the mutual defense pact Syria has with Iran, to assist him against the US, and if that happens, what will Russia do to prevent any attacks against Iran, and stop the US from bombing Syria?

Obama blames his intelligence chief for his own shortcomings, say critics

President Barack Obama denigrated the United States’ intelligence community in an interview broadcast Sunday evening for giving him and his White House an incorrect assessment of the capabilities of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS), during his interview with newsman Steve Kroft, who has been accused of being an "Obama water carrier" by conservative viewers. Turkish tanks take up position on Syrian border next to besieged Kurdish town

Turkish tanks took up position on a hill overlooking the besieged Syrian border town of Kobane on Sept. 29 after several shells hit Turkish territory as militants of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) fired on the town, a Reuters correspondent said.

At least 15 tanks were positioned, some with their guns pointed towards Syrian territory, near a Turkish military base just northwest of Kobane. Plumes of smoke rose up as shells hit both the eastern and western sides of the city.

In announcing its raids in the northern province of Aleppo on Tuesday, Washington described the group it targeted as Khorasan, a cell of Al-Qaeda veterans planning attacks against the West.

But experts and activists cast doubt on the distinction between Khorasan and Al-Nusra Front, which is Al-Qaeda’s Syrian branch.

US in 'near continuous' strikes against ISIS in Syria

The U.S.-led coalition widened its airstrikes against ISIS in Syria on Saturday as part of "near continuous" raids against the jihadists.

The targets were said to include ISIS fighters around the mainly Kurdish town of Ain al-Arab where a jihadist advance has sent 160,000 refugees streaming into nearby Turkey.

The coalition also hit ISIS in the central province of Homs for the first time as well as in the town of Minbej, near the western limit of the group's control, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

The expanded operations in Syria by Washington and its Arab allies came after three more European governments deployed fighter jets for strikes against ISIS in Iraq, freeing up U.S. air power.

Up to 40 jihadist US citizens who have fought alongside terrorist group ISIS are now back on U.S. soil, possibly to strike the vulnerable electric and subway substations. According to Rep. Tim Bishop (D-N.Y.) and a senior Obama administration official, more than 100 American citizens left the country to join ISIS or the al-Nursa Front to fight in Syria, but now it’s believed that 40 American terrorists have leaked back into the U.S., lurking in the shadows.

Then at about 1:12, we cut to a scene where the artillery piece is standing alone. Everyone has moved well away from the artillery, which is quite a coincidence (and if you believe that one I have some of Saddam's nuclear weapons to sell you) because that is the moment the bomb hits!

US Bombed ‘Empty Buildings’ in Airstrikes on ISIL in Syria

According CNN Middle East correspondent Arwa Damon (photo, above), residents from the town of Raqqa, in northeastern Syria had “mixed reactions to US strikes”. The reason given was a real shocker:

Damon revealed on air early Wednesday that ISIL terrorists who were held up in the town may have been tipped off weeks in advance to the US airstrikes on Tuesday. According to Damon:

“15-20 days before the airstrikes, (ISIL) buildings were evacuated, and fighters then mixed in with the local population”.

Maybe Damon let the truth slip out by accident, or maybe she was trying to do what US journalists so often are not allowed to do by challenging Washington’s prefabricated narrative. Regardless, CNN’s chief war enthusiast Wolf Blitzer did not feel the need to pursue the point.

War on ISIL Is Not What It Seems

The covert US-led war on Syria, under the guise of fighting terrorism, is now well underway despite its flagrant criminality and fraudulence. Thanks to the Western and Arab-sponsored terror networks, as well as Zionist-controlled Western media, the military aggression is being conducted with a grotesque image of humanitarianism and lawfulness.

David Cameron warns world leaders of Isis's 'murderous plans to expand its borders' and pledges to take action

David Cameron has warned world leaders at the United Nations that the Islamic State, or Isis, harbours “murderous plans to expand its borders well beyond Iraq and Syria… and to carry out terrorist atrocities right across the world” and pledge concerted action by Britain, including air strikes, to thwart it.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Not mentioned in this article is that Cameron basically said that anyone who questions the official story of 9-11 or 7-7, or claims Muslims are being persecuted, is supporting the terrorists. This is nonsense. I do not support the terrorists. I have never worked for Mossad!!!!!

The Campaign Against ISIL Could Cost $1.5B a Month

On September 22, the air campaign against ISIS expanded into Syria in a coordinated attack that included 47 Tomahawk missiles and nearly 50 coalition aircraft. This action had been all but inevitable since the commencement of overflight reconnaissance in Syria on August 26. Significantly, these strikes also included targets of the Khorasan Group, an al-Qaeda affiliate unrelated to ISIS. Also significantly, five Arab militaries—Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, and Qatar—participated in the operation. At this stage, there are three important questions to address: the targeting of the strikes, the implications of this action, and potential challenges that might await the operation moving forward.

America's new war in Syria is a total disaster

On Monday night in Syria, U.S. planes began bombing ISIS targets, in addition to a couple of al Qaeda affiliates (they just keep popping up, don't they?).

This action is only the most visible and recent part of what has become a comprehensive strategic disaster for the United States. Despite not being able to articulate any sort of logical strategy, let alone any actually compelling interest for what we're doing, we're stumbling into yet another boneheaded, open-ended conflict in the Middle East.

We're going to regret this.

Bahraini fighter jets join Syria strikes

Bahraini fighter jets have joined US-led air strikes in Syria to prevent extremist fighters from expanding throughout the region.

The US operation included the Royal Bahrain Air Force (RBAF) and military forces from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE and Jordan, which was part of an international action plan to stamp out the Islamic State (IS) terrorist organisation, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I try to stay as logically focused as humanly possible, when I am posting.

But there is one thing I want to share with our readers, because I am pretty sure that some of you will have a resonance with this.

Monday, when we got the news here on Oahu that President Obama had begun a a series of air strikes against Syria, I felt as though he had knocked on our door; I had graciously let him in; and then he proceeded to knock this 65 year old gal to the floor with a sucker punch to my gut.

That is how completely betrayed I feel by this government right now.

And for God's sake, look at the company the US government is keeping in this Administration's "Coalition of the (allegedly) Willing, 2014"!!!

Saudi Arabia, which carries out beheadings frequently, and Bahrain are two of the worst human rights abusers on this planet, and probably on a couple of others as well. (do we call that Species rights abuse on other planets?!?)

So THESE are our allies, chosen in order to take out Bashar Al Assad, who has done absolutely NOTHING to the United States?!?

President Obama, there is nothing that can take the moral stench out of this decision you have made, nothing whatsoever.

The country I used to believe I lived in exists no more; that is one hell of a hard reality to get my head around, but it is the absolute, stone cold truth.

Turkey Preparing for Syria Occupation?

As Western-backed terrorists drive allegedly tens of thousands of refugees into Turkish territory, and amid what is being called a "sustainable, persistent campaign" of air assaults, missile strikes, and other assorted attacks on Syrian territory, the West is preparing to dust off plans to establish a "buffer zone" in northern Syria protected by NATO troops - particularly from Turkey.

Hurriyet Daily News in its article, "Turkey’s top soldier inspects troops on Syrian border as gov't signals joining anti-ISIL bid, " indicated Turkey was preparing to join the unilateral, illegal strikes on Syria led by the US and backed by several Persian Gulf autocracies. Hurriyet reported:

Turkey’s land forces commander inspected troops along the Syrian border on Sept. 24, as the Turkish government signaled a policy change in actively joining the international coalition led by the United States against the jihadist threat in Iraq and Syria.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The Turkish Parliament is set to introduce legislation providing troops for the US-backed anti ISL forces next week.

Were I a betting person, I would be willing to bet that this legislation will be passed.

It appears that the US is preparing for an occupation of Syria, and Al-Assad's ouster.

Report: U.S. Air Strike in Syria Kills Six Children, Zero ISIS Members

According to a report by Al-Jazeera, which is aligned with Qatar, a vehement supporter of the U.S. military campaign against ISIS, missiles targeting the town of Kafr Diryan destroyed two residential areas, killing 27 people, most of whom were civilians.

“The locals say that this is the first time that they were attacked by missiles since the outbreak of Syrian revolution. The paradox, they say, is they were bombed not by the Syrian regime, but by an international coalition which killed and wounded many of them under the pretext of fighting terrorism,” states the report.

One of the locals interviewed for the report asserted that no ISIS militants were even active in the area.

A Look Inside The Secret Deal With Saudi Arabia That Unleashed The Syrian Bombing

And, not surprising, it is once again Assad whose fate was the bargaining chip to get the Saudis on the US' side, because in order to launch the incursion into Syrian sovereign territory "took months of behind-the-scenes work by the U.S. and Arab leaders, who agreed on the need to cooperate against Islamic State, but not how or when. The process gave the Saudis leverage to extract a fresh U.S. commitment to beef up training for rebels fighting Mr. Assad, whose demise the Saudis still see as a top priority."

In other words, John Kerry came, saw and promised everything he could, up to and including the missing piece of the puzzle - Syria itself on a silver platter - in order to prevent another diplomatic humiliation.

Webmaster's Commentary:

For me, the wild card in this equation is, how far will Russia allow the regime in Damascus to fall before they feel they feel compelled to act?!?

And what, precisely, is Putin prepared to do?

Wish I had a "Vulcan mind-meld" capability - at a distance - on this.

The way Obama has gone in with bomb strikes in Iraq and Syria, it does not appear that there is any way he can, or will, de-escalate any time soon.

Pentagon War Plans in 2001: Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, & Iran

Here is the transcript of Gen. Clark’s account.
CLARK: About 10 days after 9/11, I went to the Pentagon, and I saw [Defense] Secretary [Donald] Rumsfeld and Deputy Secretary [Paul] Wolfowitz. I went downstairs to say hello to some of the people on the joint staff that used to work for me.

One of the generals called me in and said, “Sir, you gotta come in and talk to me.” I said, “Sir, you’re too busy.” And he said, “No, no! We’ve made the decision — we’re going to war with Iraq!” This is on or about the 28th of September. I said, “We’re going to war with Iraq? Why!?” He said, “I don’t know!” He said, “I guess they don’t know what else to do.” So I said, “Did they find some information connecting Saddam to al Qaeda?” He said, “No, no, there’s nothing new that way. They just made the decision to go to war with Iraq.” He said, “I guess its like we don’t know what to do about terrorists, but we’ve got a good military and we can take down governments.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

OK , folks; if it wasn't clear to you that these invasions are part of a long-form plan before reading what General Clark had to say, I would like to hope that you do now.

There was a marvelous line in the second Sherlock Homes film, where the Moriarty character says that he wants to control the market on bullets and bandages for the coming war.

And this is no different than the military industrial corporations which are collectively SALIVATING over the next major military confrontation the US will be having, because the profitability of such a war for them will be extraordinarily high.

Wars are NEVER about our safety, security, and alleged "freedoms"; it is all about private corporate profit, and this is why our young men and women in uniform are going to die and get maimed for life in the horrendous military confrontation I see coming, which may well engulf the entire world.

“Humanitarian Air Strikes” against Syria: U.S. Breaks International Law, Again

The United States, assisted by a handful of Arab nations, conducted air strikes on Syria on 23rd September. The attacks mark a striking expansion in America’s military campaign against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) and have occurred without the consent of the Syrian government. A U.S. State Department official confirmed that the Syrian government was not asked for authorisation, saying: “We did not seek the regime’s permission, we didn’t coordinate our actions with the Syrian government, and Secretary [of State John] Kerry did not send a letter to the Syrian regime.” The U.S. airstrikes are therefore a clear violation of international law, as Damascus had earlier said that any direct action by the United States within Syria would constitute an act of war and a breach of its sovereignty.

US Bombed ‘Empty Buildings’ in Airstrikes on ISIL in Syria

According CNN Middle East correspondent Arwa Damon (photo, above), resident from the town of Raqqa, in northeastern Syria had “mixed reactions to US strikes”. The reason given was a real shocker:

This surprising admission by CNN would mean that the US military may have only destroyed empty buildings in Raqqa, and that Washington’s inflated claims of dead ISIL fighters are probably exaggerated. The Truth About U.S. Air Strikes on Syria With Syrian Girl

Sep 24 09:31

The Syrian Fallacy – “You Can’t Bomb City-Entrenched Troops out of Existence Without Bombing the City Itself Out of Existence.”

I argued that the presence of ISIS troops in major metropolitan areas of northern Iraq makes President Obama’s air strikes campaign largely an exercise in highly expensive pyrotechnics, because you can’t bomb city-entrenched troops out of existence without bombing the city itself out of existence. When I woke up on Tuesday morning, the New York Times greeted me with a headline reading, “In Iraq, Strikes Fail to Dislodge ISIS.” Because golly gosh oh gee, who could have possibly anticipated that?

We started bombing Syria on that same Tuesday morning, using the $700 billion F-22 Raptor stealth fighter for the first time.

Concealed By U.S. Airstrikes Israel Opens Nusra Path To Lebanon

Under the protection of the U.S. attack on IS and other targets Israel now practically established a no-fly-zone next to the Golan which will allow Jabhat al-Nusra to safely use the corridor and to attack Hizbullah in Qalamoun and in south Lebanon. It also opens space for new attacks on Damascus.

The U.S. attack on the IS in Syria will, as the NYT headlines express, have as little effect as such attacks have in Iraq. Without coordinating air attacks with a capable, available ground force like the Syrian army such strikes on IS will make no conceivable difference. I have yet to see any report that the U.S. planes have hit some of the major weapons or ammunition depots the IS captured from the Iraqi army. There are some 50 main battle tanks and lots of heavy artillery pieces in the hands of IS. What is done to disable those?

It's unannounced. It's no secret. Israel is heavily involved. It's been so all along. It wants Assad ousted.

It treats their wounded in Israeli hospitals. It supplies other support overtly and covertly.

On Tuesday, Israel confirmed it shot down a Syrian Sukhoi 24 fighter jet aircraft. It used a surface-to-air missile against it.

It said it "infiltrated into Israeli airspace." It's unclear if Israel's claim is true. Crew members ejected.

Peter King on ISIS: Be Ready for Attacks on US Soil

Intensifying U.S. airstrikes against the Islamic State (ISIS) could provoke members of the terror group already on U.S. soil to stage attacks here, Rep. Peter King tells Newsmax TV.

"First of all, these people would've attacked us anyway, but they may feel an urgency to do it now to show that ISIS can fight back, that ISIS is not going to take this," King, a New York Republican, said Tuesday on "The Steve Malzberg Show."

"We always have to be alert to them, [but] we have to be even more so now because they want to show . . . the Muslim world they're not going to sit back and take [it], they're going to fight back."

King, a member of the House Homeland Security Committee and chairman of the House Subcommittee on Counterterrorism and Intelligence, said he approves of intensified U.S. airstrikes against jihadists in the Middle East, although he wishes it had happened sooner.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A memo to Congressional Representative Peter King: if in fact ISIS (nudge, nudge, wink, wink) is able to attack the mainland, it means that every bit of surveillance, crotch groping at the airport, and spying by this government, has led to absolutely no actionable intelligence to prevent this from happening.

Should that happen, every security agency in the USA, the CIA, the DHS, FBI, and NSA, and DIA, have all failed, collectively and spectacularly.

Syrian General: ‘Moderate Opposition’ in Syria Figment of Obama’s Imagination

The "moderate opposition" that US President Barack Obama said Washington would train and equip to address the Islamic State (IS) militant threat in Iraq and Syria does not exist, Maj. Gen. Yahya Suleiman told Rossiya Segodnya International Information Agency on Tuesday.

"We are accustomed to the fact that the United States is often hypocritical. The biggest hypocrisy was displayed by the American side, when the US president announced that there is a "moderate opposition" in Syria. However, this was nothing more than a figment of his [Barack Obama's] own imagination," Maj. Gen. Suleiman said.

"At the same time, such a statement had special meaning and was made in order to satisfy the US allies that got involved in a conspiracy against Syria - especially the Gulf states led by Saudi Arabia. That is why the United States, feeding them with promises, agreed that they prepare 5,000 fighters," Maj. Gen. Suleiman added.

Webmaster's Commentary:

But that is not all; as reported on 12 September at antiwar.com

Over the past few months, the Syrian Civil War has taken a back seat to the “war within a war” of faction fighting between ISIS and various other rebel groups. That seems to be coming to an end. Today, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that ISIS and other significant rebel factions, including both Islamist and “moderate” groups, have signed a mutual non-aggression pact in a Damascus suburb.

Major General Suleiman is right when he talks about "moderate Syrian rebels" being a figment of Obama's imagination. But these recurring figments of Obama's imagination are reeking of hubris, a tin ear, and have come dangerously close to committing this country into war with both Russia and China.

Were Congress not so woefully disingenuous, inept and impotent, they would have stopped Obama from this horrific act of war against a sovereign nation which has done absolutely nothing to harm the US.

US Airstrikes in Syria

Airstrike against an ISIL compound on compound northwest of Ar Raqqah, Syria, Sept. 23, 2014:

Webmaster's Commentary:

I don't see people fleeing the scene, and there are no secondary explosions indicating anything flammable was hit. Is the US bombing empty buildings as part of this theater presentation? Or are we making the same mistakes we did in Vietnam, bombing "suspected truck parks" that turned out to be empty fields!

ISIS: Does President Obama Understand What He’s Getting Us Into?

Given the US’s wretched track record in the Middle East, including support for Israel’s recent massacre of innocents in Gaza, why would anyone here or abroad imagine yet another American military intervention would succeed when previous invasions, raids, bombing campaigns, occupations and economic sanctions have utterly failed?

The coming battle with Islamic State insurgents showcases American political immaturity, is emotionally driven and lacks a coherent political and military strategy. It is also unnecessary.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I would suggest that Obama knows precisely what he is doing, but doesn't care about the consequences, in terms of loss of American life.

His faux populism aside, he has always, is, and will always be, the supreme tool of the corporations which vetted him, and put him into power twice.

And those corporations see war as a massive means for private profit. particularly those in the military industrial complex.

There is a wonderful line in the second Sherlock Homes movie where the Moriarty character states that (and this is a very loose re imagining) that when the war comes, he wants to be the person who controls both the bullets and the bandages.

And of course, banks love wars, because they have absolutely no scruples about to which countries they lend money, because it will all be paid back at interest (actually, paid back by the citizens of those countries waging war!).

Putin: Airstrikes Against IS in Syria Should Not Be Conducted Without Government Consent

Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a phone conversation with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, said that airstrikes against the Islamic State (IS) targets in Syria should not be conducted without consent of Syrian government, the Kremlin said on Tuesday.

"Vladimir Putin and Ban Ki-moon have exchanged opinions on efforts of the international community joined against the 'Islamic State' group. Russian side emphasized, that airstrikes against the Islamic State terrorists' bases, located on the territory of Syria, should not be conducted without the consent of Syrian government," the Kremlin press service said in a statement.

Tim Kaine: Congress Has Opened The Door To The 'Cheney Pre-emptive War Doctine'

As bombs dropped over Syria Monday evening, marking the beginning of a U.S.-led effort to eradicate the Islamic State in that country, most members of Congress were back at home.

The legislative branch adjourned its business at the end of last week to tend to elections. In doing so, it left unresolved the issue of authorizing the war that President Barack Obama would start days later. Congressional inaction didn't upend the White House's plans; the administration had already claimed it had legal authority to launch such strikes in Syria.

But by leaving town before the president started operations, lawmakers may have done serious harm to their own institution, Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.) argued in an interview with The Huffington Post. Not only had they diminished the standing of Congress with respect to the executive branch, they also may have given unintended consent to a Dick Cheney-like vision of presidential war powers.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A memo to this Congress; congrats, folks, for starting World War III for real, by not preventing this President from bombing Syria. You MUST feel very proud of yourselves, don't you?!?

I am curious; just WHEN, before you went on your re-election vaycay, did you know that Obama was just going to haul off and do this, particularly Representative Peter King and the House Armed Services Committee?!?

And IF you believed for one moment that your going on your little re-election blitz was going to give you plausible deniability on just what was coming down, after you rabbited out of DC on Friday,I have two words for you on that, and they are, HELL, NO!!!!!

Let me be clear; the reinvasion of the Middle East has to do with controlling to whom the oil is sold, and in what nation's currency, which is they primary concern here. It has nothing to do with our "freedoms" (those which are left after the passage of the Patriot Act, the Homeland Security Act, and the NDAA)

The hope, in the bowels of DC, is to install some US-Centric government in Syria, and manage the wreckage which is the Iraqi government and military. There is also a great deal of hope that Syria will invoke its mutual defense pact with Iran, which will give the Israel-firsters in DC the "justification" for invading Iran.

But there are two aspects of combat here which never seems to be discussed, and it is the two five hundred pound gorillas sitting on the Steinway; I am referring to Russia and China.

I would like to politely remind you that this country could not expect to win in a conventional war against either country, because we do not have the troop strength, the money, or the manufacturing to make that happen.

The weapons the US government has purchased are very costly, but that does not make them better than those produced by Russian or Chinese arms makers. In fact, Russian warheads are maneuverable, which means that US military has no real defense against them.

By not stopping Obama from taking this road, you have completely abandoned your responsibilities to your alleged constitutents, as the Constitution clearly states that only Congress can declare war.

But constituents have become irrelevant and expendable, courtesy of all the contributions you so gratefully accept from the large corporations which fund your elections, particularly those from the military industrial-defense complex, right?!?

But I will share with you a scenario which is very likely to happen, should this country go to full-on war with Russia and China, and perhaps make your voters relevant again.

Your constituents' kids, who volunteered for the miltitary because there were no other viable job options, are going to start coming home in cheap metal coffins by the thousands, or so mangled and maimed that they will never be the same again.

Because you allowed this war to happen, the anti-incumbency fervor is going to grow to fever pitch, and come November, every single incumbent up for re-election, for refusing to stop this madness, will be voted out of office (if we have elections in November).

To all those who signed of on this, you are wretched cowards of the highest magnitude, because for you, having other people's kids killed or maimed in the pursuit of private profit is perfectly acceptable; it is as though you have had your conscience surgically removed before taking your alleged Oath of Office, making you illegitimate representatives of constituents truly on the edge of absolute fury at your lousy decision making.

Turkey Provides Support to the Islamic State (ISIL) to Topple Syrian Government and Destabilize Iraq

But the ultimate overarching goal of Turkey has been that is inclusion and in cooperation with both Saudi Arabia and Qatar is to oust the Syrian regime.

That is the utmost priority, destabilize Iraq and weaken the Iraqi government with the ultimate goal of creating a regional government in the Western area of Iraq and also the irreplaceable goal of Saudi Arabia has been to roll back and dramatically and severely undermine the ever-growing Iranian influence and that is why we have seen the ISIS being armed, financed and also provided logistical support.

And the strategy have been widened from focusing simply on Syria in order to topple the Syrian regime to also include and engulf Iraq by pushing or giving the green light to ISIS to move into Iraq and move ever closer to the Iranian border to use it as a means or leverage to rolling back what the Saudis have claimed that the Iranian influence have grown and they find it as their overarching goal to actually destabilize Iraq …

Obama Administration Is Paying Monthly Salaries to “Thousands” of ISIS and Al Nusrah Syrian Rebels

Since July 2014, the Obama-backed Free Syrian Army, Al Nusra Front, and ISIS have paired together in order to fight the Syrian Assad regime.

According to one Free Syrian Army commander, the combining of forces with ISIS was needed in order to achieve “the greater good.”

Since around that time ISIS has traveled around the Caliphate in their brand new Toyota Hilux trucks.
Paid for by US taxpayers.

Now this…

President Obama Explains Why He "Did Not Request Permission" To Invade Syria - Live Feed

Last night's airstrikes on ISIS in Syria came as a surprise to some (though apparently not ISIS who local reporters note had time to move weapons and personnel) as President Obama - and his local arab nation allies (acting in support), though notably no Western nations - unleashed hell on Assad's sovereign territory. The first stirrings of responses from Russia have been creeping out and now Israel is involved in the anti-ISIS coalition. The State Department has just confirmed that they did not give advance warning to the Syrian regime. If you are playing along at home, key words include "broad coalition", "Assad still a bad guy", "Vladimir who?", and "not Muslim."

White House Has No International Legal Justification for Hitting ISIS in Syria

The White House has an answer for critics who want to know how the Obama administration can justify striking ISIS inside Syria under international law: If and when we actually do it, we will come up with a legal justification then.

The Obama administration has explained at length why it believes it has the domestic legal justification for using airstrikes in Syria; they have claimed they don’t need Congressional authorization because the 2001 authorization for the use of military force against the perpetrators of 9/11 and the 2002 authorization to take down Saddam Hussein applies to the ISIS war. The New York Times called the explanations “perplexing” and insufficient. (After all, al Qaeda and ISIS have sporadically fought with one another, and the Saddam regime is long gone.)

US Airstrikes Against ISIS Targets Under Way in Syria

American airstrikes against ISIS targets are under way in Syria, according to a Pentagon official.

"Given that these operations are ongoing, we are not in a position to provide additional details at this time. Power: Syria Rebel Training to Aid in Fight Against Assad

US Ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Power insisted the US plan to train and arm a new faction of Syrian rebels was not aimed simply at the destruction of ISIS, but was also meant to fight the Assad government in Syria.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Madame Ambassador, is it humanly possible for you to stop lying to both the American people and the world?!? OR is it conceivable that you, of ALL people, did not "get the memo"?!? As reported on 12 September, 2014, at antiwar.com:

Over the past few months, the Syrian Civil War has taken a back seat to the “war within a war” of faction fighting between ISIS and various other rebel groups. That seems to be coming to an end. Today, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that ISIS and other significant rebel factions, including both Islamist and “moderate” groups, have signed a mutual non-aggression pact in a Damascus suburb.

There are only two possibilities here; that you didn't know this to be the case (and in THAT scenario, you need to be sacked, and immediately, for utter, sloppy ignorance), or that you are lying to both the American people and the world.

The reason for an attack on Syria is about controlling its oil, and the monetary denominations in which such oil is - or is not - sold. You and this Administration are hoping ardently that such a blatant act of war against Syria will get Syria and Iran to invoke their mutual defense treaty, as the "justification" for an attack against Iran, ushering in regime change there also.

But understanding that the basic prerequisite for working for this administration is the complete, pathological inability to think ANYTHING through, let me ask a critical question here: what are you expecting Russia and China to do if the US attacks Iraq, Syria, and possibly Iran?!?

Is this the level of alleged collective reasoning that you, and your colleagues, do not understand the military and geopolitical ramifications of such an act?!? Are you all actively working toward a war with Russia and China which may very well go nuclear?!?

IF this is the design intent on the part of this Administration, the 25th amendment needs to be invoked against this President, immediately, and the rest of the administration get fired.

Because NO sane individual could possibly be advocating for a war against China and Russia by attacking Iraq, Syria, and Iran.

John McCain’s Whoops Moment: Photographed Chilling With ISIS

Does anyone remember when I wrote an article last year about John McCain being a traitor? Does the man in the red circle look familiar? Everyone put on your shocked face for John McCain’s whoops moment. It seems the Arizona Senator that is upset at Obama for the mess in Iraq was photographed chilling out with ISIS terrorist leaders in Syria!

Senator John McCain is making headlines but not for saying he was happy Eric Holder is persecuting illegal aliens or his lie about Holder investigating the VA, even though Eric Holder doesn’t have plans to prosecute people in the VA. He even seems a little hot under the collar about losing Iraq, but that isn’t why he’s in the headlines today.

He seems to forget that he was photographed, and those photographs were broadcast world wide, with the same individuals that are causing the trouble in Iraq and Syria and deemed too violent to represent Al Qaeda.

Obama ‘ready for Syria ground war’ as Kurds flee

The United States will have to resort to sending “some troops on the ground” in Syria should President Barack Obama aim to destroy the Islamic State or Iraq and Syria (ISIS) group, a senior U.S. Congressman told this week’s Sunday Times.

The west is facing a “long, hard war” against ISIS, Republican Peter King said, adding that Obama was reviewing his refusal to send ground troops after military advisers said they would be needed.

These remarks come after 70,000 Syrian Kurds poured into Turkey since Friday fleeing an offensive by ISIS militants in northeastern Syria, the U.N.'s refugee agency said Sunday.

By ruling out sending troops to Syria, King said Obama is sounding an “uncertain trumpet.”

Following General Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, address to Congress in which he said that ground intervention may be necessary; King said the “military message is getting through” to Obama.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A memo to Representative King: sir, military intervention here in the Middle East is the LAST approach the US should be taking at this time.

Americans understand that this is all about Middle Eastern oil, and in what national currency it will - or will not - be sold.

I would like to politely remind you that the US government does not have the money, the manufacturing, or the troop strength, to insure a positive outcome to such a military action. And if you don't believe me, take a good hard look at the debacles which have happened in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Yemen.

And any military attack against the sovereign nation of Syria will be considered by the rest of the world a blatant act of war upon it.

We understand, very clearly, that what the US and Israel hopes will happen here will be for Syria and Iran to invoke their joint mutual defense act, as the "reason" for attacking Iran, and creating regime change there.

But there is one piece of the equation you are deliberately NOT discussing with the American people, and that is: if either Syria and/or Iran are attacked, just what precisely will Russia and China do?!?

I do not think you believe that either Putin or the Duma, or the Chinese leadership, will sit collectively on their hands and start singing "Kumbya".

So is THIS your strategy for engaging in a war with Russia and China?!? If so, sir, you had better think again, and very carefully, about this.

Because of the US military not having the resources to insure a positive outcome to a conventional war with Russia, the US military will most likely employ its nuclear capabilities. And THAT is where things get truly ugly; the unintended consequences to this may be both horrific... and irreversible.

Congress Votes for More War in the Middle East

Last week, the House and Senate voted to rubber stamp President Obama's war plans for the Middle East. Both bodies, on a bipartisan basis, authorized the US to begin openly training and arming the rebels who have been fighting for three years to overthrow the Assad government in Syria.

Webmaster's Commentary:

... as opposed to having covertly supported them right from the start. I think we ought to load the entire Congress into military transports, hand them rifles, and send them to Syria. Congress (and Obama) are splendidly brave with other people's lives. It's time to see the measure of their true courage and commitment to war!

Panetta says US paying the price for not arming Syrian rebels

Former Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta said Sunday that he believes the Islamic State terror group was able to flourish in part because the U.S. entered the conflict in Syria too late, saying the Obama administration should have armed the country’s moderate rebels earlier.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What the US should have done was leave other countries alone and build peace through commerce based on strong manufacturing and agriculture. But the US financial system became lazy because of the wealth pouring in through Bretton-Woods forcing the rest of the world to borrow dollars at interest before they could engage on cross-border trade and banking, and the petro-dollar deal, which collected the same mafia-like "piece of the action" for natural resources around the globe. So, to force the world to continue this scheme, the US Government has followed a policy of covert overthrow of foreign governments and installation of puppet regimes that loot their own people to prop up the American empire. Since the end of WW2 the US has covertly tried to overthrow the governments of more than fifty other nations, succeeding about half the time. Well-known successes are Iran in 1953 and Chile in 1973. Well known failures would include Iran in 2009 and Ukraine. The US started to covertly overthrow Syria more than three years ago. The so-called "moderate" rebels are for the most part hired foreign mercenaries. The failed campaign to oust Assad has seriously destabilized the region and brought us to the edge of global war, and Panetta's solution is to do more of the exact same thing that got us into this mess in the first place!

For now, it appears, the only nation involved in the 'broad coalition' is France. Why? Because as we said yesterday, this is merely over fears of more BNPs. "A key component of this would be allied participation," said a U.S. official; does '1' ally count?

A Host of Possible Objections to Expanded Airstrikes in Syria

Airstrikes on Iraq were a fairly easy sell. The government in Baghdad asked for help in combating the Islamic State, and the United States answered its request.

That is perfectly legal under international law, diplomats agreed, and it helped to get dozens of European and Middle Eastern allies on board. The United Nations secretary general, Ban Ki-moon, applauded the airstrikes as a “decisive” move. Secretary of State John Kerry is now scheduled to preside over a Security Council meeting on Friday, at which more than 40 foreign leaders from as far afield as Germany and Qatar are expected to articulate their support for the American-led effort against the Islamic State, also known as ISIS, in Iraq.

But airstrikes on the group in Syria? That is another matter altogether.

Syrian children given anaesthesia not measles vaccination

Syria's opposition said Thursday that 16 children who died during a measles vaccination campaign in the mostly rebel-held province of Idlib had been given an anaesthesia additive by mistake.

"Reports point to the possibility of human error which led to atracurium being used in place of the solvent which should have been used with the vaccine," said opposition government chief Ahmad Tohme.

Tohme said the maximum dose of atracurium as used in general anaesthesia was 0.5 milligrammes per kilogramme (2.2 pounds) of bodyweight, whereas 5 milligramme doses were used with the children, enough to paralyse a child of less than 10 kilos.

An investigation is being carried out to determine any criminal responsibility and the whole vaccination team has been detained for questioning, he said, quoted on the exiled opposition's website.

Let us say you are ISIS and you are making great gains inside Syria and Iraq. The very LAST thing you want is direct military intervention. Hence the very LAST thing you will do is any actions or videos that help the US Government sell the American people on yet another war.

This story, like the beheadings videos, is just more war propaganda brought to you by the same government and corporate media that brought you torpedoes in the Gulf of Tonkin, Spanish mines in Havana harbor, stolen Kuwaiti incubators, Saddam's nuclear weapons, etc. etc. etc. etc.

How many times do you have to be lied to by the government before you face up to the fact that you are being lied to by the government?

Senator McCain presses Hagel to clarify targeting Asad’s air forces too

McCain pressed Hagel to clarify whether the US will target Assad air forces should they attack the Syrian rebels under American charge. Hagel declined to give that assurance, saying, “We’re not there yet, but our focus is on ISIL,” another name for ISIS.

Webmaster's Commentary:

McCain wants Syria's Air Force destroyed to make it easier for Israel to take the Golan Heights.

Dozens of Children Dead After UN Gives Tainted Vaccine in “Rebel” Held Syria

Dems divided on Obama’s Syria plan

The deep divisions among Democrats over President Barack Obama’s plan to attack Islamic State militants foreshadow fights ahead within the party over how aggressively to assert itself on foreign policy.

A growing number of rank-and-file Democrats are worried that the president’s plans would commit the United States to an open-ended conflict against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, costing the country blood and treasure in another unpredictable Mideast war. Yet party leaders and senior Democrats believe now is the time to stand behind the commander in chief, given the lack of viable options and the deepening crisis threatening to plunge the region into further turmoil.

Israel’s Cue: Syrian ‘Rebels’ Occupy Golan Heights, Seize UN Weapons and Vehicles

Perfect timing. We were waiting for the stage director to whistle-in Israel somewhere into this ISIS Crisis and to help the US and Britain with their Syrian regime change project. Here is the perfect pretext…

Webmaster's Commentary:

Only a few days ago it was reported that the UN pulled their observers out of the Golan Heights, which I commented essentially opened the door to an Israeli invasion.

AT LEAST 36 children (updated) die in Syria after receiving measles vaccine

The children, some just babies, all exhibited signs of "severe allergic shock" about an hour after they were given a second round of measles vaccinations in the northwestern province of Idlib on Tuesday, with many suffocating to death as their bodies swelled, said physician Abdullah Ajaj, who administered the vaccinations in a medical centre in the town of Jarjanaz.

"There was shouting and screaming, it was hard for the parents. You get your child vaccinated and then you find your child dying, it's very hard," Ajaj said

Pentagon Officials Tell Senate: ISIS War Will Be Long and Difficult

Top Pentagon officials, including Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey testified to the Senate Armed Services Committee today to brief them on the new war against ISIS in Iraq and Syria.

The two offered very few details on the plans for the war, though Gen. Dempsey conceded that the US ground troops in the country as advisers could end up being used in combat operations, despite repeated insistence this had been ruled out.

Obama: If Assad Defends Against US Attack, US Will Attack

Only hours after delivering his ridiculous address to the American people regarding his strategy to combat an organization that is entirely the product of the United States and NATO and one that is still under complete control of these powers, Obama conducted a meeting with “foreign policy experts,” former government officials, and journalists.

The meeting, of course, is nothing more than round two in the volley of propaganda coming from the White House in its attempt to drum up more support from the American people for direct military intervention in Syria and an open use of U.S. military forces against the secular government of Bashar al-Assad. All of those within an ear’s reach of the reports regarding Obama’s meeting should be firmly aware that it is nothing more than an attempt to milk the original speech for more propaganda against Assad’s Syria and provide a sense of inevitability about the coming conflict there.

Russia to provide military, other assistance to Iraq, Syria in combating terrorism

Russia will provide military and other assistance to Iraq and Syria in the fight against terrorism, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on the sidelines of an international conference on Iraq in Paris on Monday.

“We have spoken of our contribution to supporting the Iraqi government in their fight against terrorists, ensuring security of their state. In a similar way we provide military and other kind of assistance to Syria that is also facing a serious terrorist threat, maybe to a lesser degree. We also provide assistance to our partners in Egypt, Lebanon, Yemen, Jordan. So we have something to contribute to the common efforts,” Lavrov said.

No double standards in the fight against terrorists are acceptable, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on the sidelines of an international conference on Iraq in the French capital on Monday.

The New "Regime Change" Plan - Attack Damascus From The South

There are serious active preparations for a new attack on Damascus. Anti-government forces, including the Al-Qaeda affiliate Jabhat al-Nusra, have been trained and equipped in Jordan and are now moving into their starting position in Quneitra governate in south-west Syria. (A similar plan in spring 2013 was only partially executed and later aborted.)

The anti-government forces now control a 40 miles (70km) long, three miles (5km) wide strip from Jordan along the Golan frontier up to Lebanon. This strip can be used to infiltrate into Hizbullah territory in south Lebanon but its main purpose is likely an attack on Damascus from the south. The Syrian military would have great difficulties to dislodge the anti-government forces from this strip as it is covered by Israeli anti-air and artillery fire.

Webmaster's Commentary:

When will this Administration collectively man up, and tell the American people the truth?!?

I am really, thoroughly disgusted with this government, and the interminable amounts of codswallop it expects Americans to swallow on a daily basis, in terms of the damned lies they are trying to get us to believe in to support this war.

This whole ISIS pretext for US military involvement, is about regime change in Syria and Iran, period, end of discussion.

The big questions here are, how soon Al-Assad will want to invoke his mutual defense pact with Iran, and just what Russia will do if, in fact, that mutual defense pact is invoked by Al-Assad.

Were I a betting woman, I would not bet against Russia getting involved militarily against the US in Iran's behalf.

And the hell of it is, neither the US nor Israel can reasonably expect to successfully wage a conventional war against Russia; they don't have the money, the manufacturing, or the troop strength to make this happen.

Additionally, I do not want to see the best and brightest of our military be killed or maimed for life over what is essentially a war for private profit.

And that is the dirty little secret of all wars; they are all ultimately about private profit.

US using ISIL to sidestep UNSC over Syria: Analyst

Press TV: Mr. Rickard, our guest in Washington has called this a civil war within Islam. When you look at ISIL as a group, do you see it as playing that role as being basically a party to a civil war in Islam, or is it as many analysts say actually an entity that was created by Washington and some of its Persian Gulf allies to do exactly what it is doing?

Ron Johnson: Obama’s ISIS Strategy Is Basically Like Poking a Hornet’s Nest With a Stick

Republican Senator Ron Johnson is concerned about blowback from America’s limited air campaign against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria — if the U.S. fails to destroy the group entirely, President Obama’s plan to intervene will be just like poking a hornet’s nest with a stick, he says.

The Wisconsin lawmaker spoke Monday with MSNBC’s Chris Matthews about President Obama’s strategy to deal with the Islamic State. Johnson welcomed the president’s military action, but worried that an insufficient amount of air strikes may only serve to anger the ultra-violent Islamists.

Obama: We Will Hit Assad If He Messes With Our Airstrikes

The United States would retaliate against Syrian President Bashar Assad's air defenses if he were to go after American planes launching airstrikes in his country, senior Obama administration officials said Monday.

Officials said the U.S. has a good sense of where the Syrian air defenses, along with their command and control centers, are located. If Assad were to use those capabilities to threaten U.S. forces, it would put his air defenses at risk, according to the officials, who insisted on anonymity in order to discuss the administration's thinking on the matter.

Why is Israel Absent from ISIS Fight?

What's wrong with this picture?

Israel gets $3 billion a year in military aid from the US. Over the last 60 years, the Jewish state has received about $250 billion worth of airplanes and armaments.

Yet when Obama appeals for a "a broad international coalition" to fight ISIS, which supposedly threatens the whole Middle East, Israel is not asked to join. Canada, Germany, Australia, France, Turkey ..all are asked..but not Israel.

Israel is the strongest military power in the region. But apparently it bears no responsibility to help contain this "threat."

Obama: If Assad Defends Against US Attack, US Will Attack

With that in mind, Obama stated to those in the “after party” meeting, that if the Syrian government were to shoot down American military planes – American military planes engaging in aggressive air strikes on Syrian soil – then the United States would be forced to “wipe out” Syria’s air defenses. Obama also added that an attack against the Syrian air defenses would be a much easier task than attacking his pet ISIS terrorists and other related groups. Obama pointed out that eliminating Syria’s air defense capabilities would lead to his ouster and the overthrow of the Syrian government.

Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Fayssal Mikdad said than alliances that exclude Syria, China, and Russia may have certain agendas in mind.

Tony Abbott leaves door open to military action against Islamic State in Syria

Prime Minister Tony Abbott has left open the possibility that Australia's attacks on Islamic State militants could spread across the Iraq border into the terror group's heartland in Syria.
