The Future of 3D Printing

By Brian Berletic

For emerging technologies it is not always easy to tell what the future holds for it. However, for 3D printing, this doesn't apply. 3D printing is actually not new at all. It has been around since at least as early as the 1980s.

Since the 1980s, 3D printing has been making it possible to prototype new ideas faster, more accurately, and more efficiently than ever before. Starting in the mid-2000s 3D printing went from a professional tool employed by large companies and design firms, to a form of personal manufacturing accessible to a larger number of regular people.

Looking at where 3D printing has been and where it is now, we can confidently predict where it is heading with some degree of accuracy...

Scientists Find Alarming Deterioration In DNA Of The Urban Poor

The urban poor in the United States are experiencing accelerated aging at the cellular level, and chronic stress linked both to income level and racial-ethnic identity is driving this physiological deterioration.

These are among the findings published this week by a group of prominent biologists and social researchers, including a Nobel laureate. Dr. Arline Geronimus, a visiting scholar at the Stanford Center for Advanced Study and the lead author of the study, described it as the most rigorous research of its kind examining how "structurally rooted social processes work through biological mechanisms to impact health."

What They Found

Webmaster's Commentary:

This study should be a wake-up call for all involved in the creation of public and medical policy, and the question needs to be asked: how can this be reversed?!?

Human Terrain System

The Human Terrain System (HTS) is a United States Army, Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) support program employing personnel from the social science disciplines – such as anthropology, sociology, political science, regional studies and linguistics – to provide military commanders and staff with an understanding of the local population (i.e. the "human terrain") in the regions in which they are deployed

A Brief Overview Of ABI And Human Domain Analytics

In Iraq, the Intelligence Community was tasked with finding terrorists and insurgents bent on harming US Forces and their interests. These terrorists or insurgents rarely performed activities that were dissimilar from non-terrorists (especially in the planning phases). In terms of Iraqi mysteries, the questions were “Will something happen?” and “How can we predict it and prevent it?” Analysts began to develop techniques to address these mysteries using any means at their disposal to aggregate these activities, assess transactions, and develop networks of interest.

Thinking Differently: Unlocking the Human Domain in Support of the 21st Century Intelligence Mission

People are the currency of the human domain; their visible behaviors and symbols are one of the only ways to really discern their thoughts and motivations. Add in the cultural complexity of differing worldviews, beliefs and values that play on those thoughts and motivations and the domain becomes even less certain to decode. Factor in that U.S. military and civilian personnel directly, and indirectly, influence the course of interactions and behavior in the domain and the human domain becomes incredibly layered and dense, where meaning and purpose is difficult to extract and effort and skill necessary for success within the domain difficult to master.

Project 677 Lada class Diesel-Electric Torpedo Submarine

Some of these boats are being fitted with a new air independent propulsion system.

The Project 677 or Lada class is a diesel-electric patrol submarine, developed by the Rubin design bureau. It is an improved version of the Kilo class, fitted with an air-independent propulsion and new combat systems. It is claimed that the Lada class is much quieter than it's predecessor. It is worth mentioning that the Kilo class achieved respectable export sales. It's major operators are China, India and Iran.
Sweden already has at least one.

Fracking chemicals contaminated drinking water in Pennsylvania, study finds

"This is the first documented and published demonstration of toxic compounds escaping from uncased boreholes in shale gas wells and moving long distances" into drinking water, Susan Brantley, a geoscientist at Pennsylvania State University and one of the study's authors, told the Associated Press.

Analysis of drinking water gathered from the homes revealed small amounts of 2-Butoxyethanol or 2-BE, a compound commonly found in cosmetics and household cleaners. 2-BE has been shown to cause tumors in rodents, though its effects on humans remain less clear, and researchers say the amounts discovered in Pennsylvania were within regulatory limits.

THE BIG BUSINESS OF CANCER: 100 BILLION DOLLARS WAS SPENT ON CANCER DRUGS LAST YEAR ALONE

If you are an American, there is a 1 in 3 chance that you will get cancer during your lifetime. If you are a man, the odds are closer to 1 in 2. And almost everyone in America either knows someone who currently has cancer or who has already died from cancer. But it wasn’t always this way.

Back in the 1940s, only one out of every sixteen Americans would develop cancer. Something has happened that has caused the cancer rate in this nation to absolutely explode, and it is being projected that cancer will soon surpass heart disease and become the leading cause of death in the United States.

If you are diagnosed with cancer in America today and you choose to trust the medical system with your treatment, you can say goodbye to your financial future. Even if you have health insurance, you will probably end up flat broke one way or the other. Either you will survive and be flat broke, or you will die flat broke.

Webmaster's Commentary:

There are effective, far less toxic and expensive treatments for cancer which absolutely work; for example, there is hydrazine sulfate, developed in Russia, and used widely and effectively world wide. But the profit was not high enough for American drug companies to want to manufacturing it; so the results of the US study were controlled and sabotaged by none other than the National Cancer Institute itself. As reported at http://www.burtongoldberg.com/

It was at this time that the National Cancer Institute decided the best way to handle the situation was to sponsor studies of hydrazine sulfate themselves, which allowed them complete control. Dr. Gold's research had revealed two important caveats in using hydrazine sulfate. First, dosage amounts were critical: too high a dose would not only be devoid of beneficial effects but could create a toxic environment that would increase mortality. Second, patients had to absolutely avoid certain other drugs, including alcohol, barbiturates and antidepressants; these negated hydrazine sulfate's action. Yet in the NCI trials, 94% of the patients were taking those very drugs that Dr. Gold had determined would deactivate hydrazine sulfate and increase mortality.

In sabotaging the trials, the NCI not only managed to discredit the drug's use in the minds of most of the world's doctors, but undoubtedly added to the suffering and shortened the lives of many of the patients involved in the trials.

Nevertheless, hydrazine sulfate, properly administered, just worked too effectively to be totally quashed. In 1987, Jeff Kamen, at that time Washington correspondent for Independent Network News television, ran a series of articles on how the NCI was trying to suppress the truth about hydrazine sulfate. His stories led to a House oversight subcommittee ordering an investigation by the General Accounting Office (GAO).

In 1994 an investigation was begun under the leadership of GAO assistant director Barry Tice. His group compiled a report that scathingly criticized the NCI. The report was initially titled "NIH Actions Spur Continued Controversy Over Hydrazine Sulfate Therapy".

On June 5, 1995, the report was sent out to the FDA, the Public Health Service and the NCI for review. When top officials at the NCI read the report their reaction was characterized by eyewitnesses as going "ballistic," and "really crazy." The NCI went on a campaign to have the GAO change the report - and they succeeded. In-house politicians at the GAO altered or deleted damning portions of the report and retitled it "Contrary to Allegation, NIH Studies of Hydrazine Sulfate Were Not Flawed."

"You can imagine how upset I was - and still am - about that title," Barry Tice told Mr. Kamen in a subsequent interview. "The impact of the changes and a few key deletions was tremendous. Those changes took the NCI almost completely off the hook."

Mr. Kamen wrote another article on this cover-up that provoked the Senate Subcommittee on Investigation to look into the matter. They managed to bring to light the facts as to how top officials in the GAO overruled their own staff and buckled under political pressure from the cancer establishment.

So, if you don't think your money trumps your health, any time you walk into a Doctor's office, you had better think again.

A Shopping & Eating Guide to Non-GMO Foods

By Catherine J. Frompovich

A dear friend gifted me with a sweatshirt that said, “GMO OMG WTF Are We Eating?” I can’t tell you how much I really appreciated that thoughtful gift. I even wore it to the screening of a film about GMOs where I was a member of the panel discussion afterward. Almost everyone who saw the message gave a thumb’s up! However, once or twice I saw a different finger response, so I asked if they didn’t like the sweatshirt. Oh no, the sweatshirt was fine; they didn’t like being forced to eat foods not knowing which edibles had GMO ingredients since there is no mandatory labeling of GMOs in the USA.

Hopefully, this guide can make that easier and, certainly, more reliable. I’ve pulled together as comprehensive a guide as possible from various online sources to take into consideration as many relevant aspects and angles of the Non-GMO / GMO conundrum...

See you at the ribbon cutting? (Canadian) Federal panel approves nuclear dump on Lake Huron

A federal environmental assessment panel has just released its report approving a proposal by Ontario Power Generation (OPG) to bury nuclear waste on the shores of Lake Huron in a "Deep Geological Repository" (DGR). The panel's conclusions come as no surprise to informed observers: the impartiality of the environmental assessment process had been in question for months.

The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) has never been known as a friend of the environment. But when the Harper Conservatives won a majority government in 2008 they made sweeping changes to Canada's environmental laws. One change was to remove responsibility for environmental assessment of nuclear projects from the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency, and put the CNSC in charge.

Rare 4.0 quake rocks north Texas amid fracking debate

A magnitude-4.0 earthquake rattled residents in northern Texas on Thursday evening. One of the most powerful quakes ever recorded in the region has fueled speculation that fracking is responsible for this seismic activity.

The earthquake, which struck near Venus, about 30 miles (48 kilometers) southwest of Dallas, at 5:58 p.m., was the most powerful to strike the region since seismic activity began in November 2013. Since then, more than 50 tremors have rattled the region, according to the US Geological Survey (USGS).

Earthquake clusters began to strike northern Texas in 2008. Since then, over 120 quakes have been reported in the region. Prior to that year, researchers say, a felt earthquake had not been reported in the area in nearly 60 years.

Guns and Butter censored for first time in 11 years: show was about vaccine safety

Just to let you know, Bonnie Faulkner from Guns and Butter got word the other day from Pacifica KPFA that they would not be airing her interview with Gary Null about the recent vaccination bills currently floating around congress. The broadcast also discussed vaccine safety. This is the first time in 11 years that she has had a show censored.

Why, of all the controversial subjects she has handled over the years, are they going after her for a show on vaccines? This is outrageous as we have a couple of terrible bills that people should be educated about especially now before they become law.

Please call the station to complain about this censorship and demand they air it.

Thank you!

Recent Earthquakes in Hawaii

Webmaster's Commentary:

In all the years we have lived here in Hawaii I have never seen this degree of quake activity on the Big Island. Normally the quakes are confined to the active vents of the volcano, and only occasionally do we see quakes on other parts of the island. The "big" quake we had in 2006 was off the coast of Kona.

This map worries me. Obviously there is a swarm of quakes along the increased volcanic activity near Kilauea, but the line of quakes down Chain of Craters Road towards the Southeast is of concern, along with the quakes extending to the southwest into the rift zone. And there is increased quake activity at the summit of Mauna Loa as well.

Click for larger image

Amazingly, the HPV vaccine is recommended by several governments as a preventative to cervical cancer. Yet there is no evidence that HPV is in any way related to such cancer. At the same time the pharmaceutical company’s own studies indicate that 2.5% of women who receive the vaccine–that’s 2,500 for every 100,000–will have one or more adverse reactions. Such figures are corroborated by the number of adverse reactions reported to the Centers for Disease Control since the mid-2000s when Gardasil hit the market.

The RNA didn’t cooperate. After mixing just a single meal of RNA into the natural diet of the worker bee larvae, as the bees grew older, scientists discovered that a staggering 1461 genes showed significant changes compared to controls.[1] In other words, about 10% of all the bees’ genes, including those vital to health, were either turned up in volume, or more often than not, turned down.[2] The authors of the study concluded that such a massive change “undoubtedly” triggered changes in the bees’ development, physiology, and behavior.

Perhaps the scientists from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) missed this 2013 study when they recently approved potatoes and apples genetically engineered not to brown. “Arctic” apple slices (nicknamed the “Botox apple”) can supposedly sit on the shelf for 15-18 days without discoloring to reveal their age. Sliced up “Innate” potatoes will similarly not show any darkening day after day until they eventually dry up.

Japan Engineers Design Robotic Bear to aid in Assisted Suicide

A team of engineers working for the JSDD, with help from the Orient Industry Company have created an experimental robotic bear to assist in euthanasia and assisted suicide in Japan.

The growing suicide rate, as well as the senior population is becoming an increasing concern. Hospital Staff, and Suicide Assistant Volunteers from the JSDD are required to help euthanize those who are unable to [care for] themselves due to physical, or psychological reasons.

To aid these carers and volunteers, the JSDD-Orient Industry Collaboration Center for Human-Interactive Robotics Research in the Bunkyo Ward of Tokyo has designed an assisted suicide support robot with the face of an innocent, loveable cartoon-like bear to aid patients in self-euthanasia named SeppuKuma.

Exploding satellite debris poses ‘Gravity’ style threat to spacecraft

IN A scenario that eerily echoes the plot of ‘Gravity’, scientists claim the explosion of a satellite has left other spacecraft at risk from thousands of pieces of hurtling debris.

Researchers at the University of Southampton say the destruction of the US satellite has resulted in 50,000 pieces of debris, no bigger than the ball of a ballpoint pen, the London Telegraph reports.

When the US Defence Meteorological Satellite Program (DMSP) F13 satellite exploded on February 3, the large pieces of wreckage seen on radar were not considered a threat. The new research, however, suggests agencies failed to take into account tens of thousands of tiny fragments spinning around the Earth.

Key CDC scientist who downplayed vaccine-autism connection is now fleeing from justice

A leading scientist with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention whose noted "Denmark Study" ostensibly disproved any link between vaccines and autism as well as additional neurological disorders is now fleeing justice with nearly $2 million he allegedly was to spend on research.

As first reported in April 2011 by Natural News editor Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, Dr. Poul Thorsen was indicted by a federal grand jury in Atlanta on charges of wire fraud, money laundering and defrauding research institutions of grant money.

That report came after a May 2010 report in The Huffington Post noting that Thorsen fled with the money as Danish police launched an investigation into alleged fraud involving millions of taxpayer dollars over time.

Will superweeds, regulation create a perfect storm in Iowa farmlands?

Let’s unpack what has happened. Farmers’ dissatisfaction with rising costs of herbicide-resistant weeds has been evident since 2008. But another superweed, Palmer amaranth, has now arrived in five Iowa counties. By 2004, this weed was already costing Southern farmers $35-40 an acre to control. Now even more tolerant to herbicides, this amaranth costs as much as $150 per acre to control in some states. But EPA’s decision to constrain glyphosate use is not just focused on Palmer amaranth, because a dozen other superweeds also plague 60 million acres of U.S. croplands. As Iowa State University’s Mike Owen conceded, “Simple and convenient tactics are failing rapidly and farmers must diversify, not just the herbicides they use, but everything.”

In March, the WHO claimed a possible link between glyphosate exposure and non-Hodgkins lymphoma. Conclusive or not, this report will be hotly debated. But what is not debated is that non-Hodgkins rates in the U.S. have doubled since the 1980s. It has become the fifth-leading cause of cancer in the United States. Farmers’ and farmworkers’ exposure to a variety of stresses already affects their health. Since they are the people who feed America, our agricultural workforce must consider whether additional safeguards are needed to avoid potential health risks.

Blow your savings and live forever in the new Atlantic City

There was a time, believe it or not, when Atlantic City was considered the healthiest place in America. The town founder, Jonathan Pitney, was a country doctor and failed politician who, in 1850, decided to turn the southern New Jersey coast into a “city by the sea,” extolling the restorative properties of the sea air and saltwater. For decades—before the afflictions of Prohibition and organized crime, and long before the arrival of urban blight, Donald Trump, Don King, and fiscal despair—physicians from as far west as Chicago sent invalids and convalescents for recuperation. In an 1881 health-oriented publication, alongside ads for liver powder, hypophosphites syrup, and “fluid beef,” one doctor claimed the Atlantic City air could even cure malaria.

Now, more than a century later, there’s a modern-day heir to Dr. Pitney, with a Trump-like plan. And it all starts with making Atlantic City good for your health again.

The Uphill Battle to Better Regulate Formaldehyde

A decade after emergency trailers meant to shelter Hurricane Katrina victims instead caused burning eyes, sore throats and other more serious ailments, the Environmental Protection Agency is on the verge of regulating the culprit: formaldehyde, a chemical that can be found in commonplace things like clothes and furniture.

But an unusual assortment of players, including furniture makers, the Chinese government, Republicans from states with a large base of furniture manufacturing and even some Democrats who championed early regulatory efforts, have questioned the E.P.A. proposal. The sustained opposition has held sway, as the agency is now preparing to ease key testing requirements before it releases the landmark federal health standard.

The E.P.A.’s five-year effort to adopt this rule offers another example of how industry opposition can delay and hamper attempts by the federal government to issue regulations, even to control substances known to be harmful to human health.

Webmaster's Commentary:

As someone who is violently allergic to formaldehyde precursors,I think this regulation should have happened far sooner.

And formaldehyde precursors are not only in wood glue; they come up frequently in lower (and some higher) end cosmetics as well.

I was in agony for half a decade, and one team of orthopedists gave me a prescription for a pain medication which was strictly meant for diabetes nerve pain (and I don't have diabetes).

Oh, and did I mention that the pharmaceutical company which manufactured this drug was PAYING DOCTORS TO PRESCRIBE off-topic medication to patients?!?

Please forgive me if my opinion of the medical establishment is lower than a snake's belly, but in this case, they earned it. The one test they NEVER gave me at my HMO was one for chemical sensitivities and allergies.

On my second to last visit to my orthopedist he ordered another x-ray on my feet, and told me that he could see nothing that was causing the pain about which I had been complaining. I remember coming home in tears, and asking Mike precisely when, in my work schedule, I had time to become a hypochondriac. Mike did some research, and we carefully went through cupboard after cupboard in or home, and removed the offending items. By the next morning, I was able to walk with no pain.

When I went back to the doctor (for the last time), I almost threw the research Mike had done on his desk, and told him that if a client of my age was complaining of pain, but there was nothing on the x-ray, to please order a chemical sensitivity test, because that was most probably the culprit.

Researchers closer to being able to change blood types

What do you do when a patient needs a blood transfusion but you don’t have their blood type in the blood bank? It’s a problem that scientists have been trying to solve for years but haven’t been able to find an economic solution – until now.

University of British Columbia chemists and scientists in the Centre for Blood Research have created an enzyme that could potentially solve this problem. The enzyme works by snipping off the sugars, also known as antigens, found in Type A and Type B blood, making it more like Type O. Type O blood is known as the universal donor and can be given to patients of all blood types.

30 Concept Cars That Never Made It.

Only a handful of all car designs actually become cars, and of those, only a very few become the popular cars we know of today. But, going back to the drawing board, there are some very interesting designs that never quite made it to production, among them some really beautiful, creative and imaginative designs.

The Jonas Salk Polio Vaccine: A Medical Breakthrough or a Propaganda Campaign for Big Pharma?

When polio (poliomyelitis) became an epidemic in the U.S. and other parts of the world many people were understandably concerned. Diseases are absolutely frightening. During the 1950’s, polio made the public fearful. In April of 1952, Dr. Salk announced at the University of Michigan that he had developed a vaccine against the polio virus. That same day, the U.S. government approved a license for the immediate distribution of the polio vaccine. By 1954 the U.S. government allowed national testing for the newly developed vaccine which Dr. Salk himself developed by growing a live polio virus in kidney tissues in Asian Rhesus monkeys. He used formaldehyde to kill the virus.

Is a Kincardine (Ontario, Canada) deep geological repository the solution for nuclear waste?

In January the city of Chicago joined the list of communities now 152 strong that stand in opposition to Ontario Power Generation’s plan to bury and immobilize its waste inventory on land adjacent to the Bruce Nuclear Generating Stations, little more than a kilometre from the lip of the Great Lakes. “The resolution used some colourful terms like cataclysmic,” says Keto, OPG’s vice-president of nuclear decommissioning. “I was surprised to see that. I thought it was reserved for other things of maybe a little more significance, like asteroids and things like that.”

The misgivings from oppositional communities can be captured in Chicago’s declaration: “A leak of radioactive waste would almost certainly have a cataclysmic effect on the delicate ecological balance of the world’s largest group of freshwater bodies.” Keto calls the resolution uninformed. “It’s really one-sided and not unlike all the resolutions that we’ve seen that are emotion-based and not fact-based, and that’s unfortunate.”

Government Confirms Increased Earthquake Activity Related To Fracking

The US Geological Survey recently released findings that show, as many people have suspected, that the process known as fracking is directly related to the incredible increase of earthquake incidence in the United States. According to the study, the amount of earthquakes has increased dramatically over the past few years; between 1973 and 2008 there was an average of 21 earthquakes of a magnitude 3 and larger on the Richter scale in the Central and Eastern United States. This increased to an alarming rate of 99M3+ earthquakes per year between 2009 and 2013, and this rate is continuing to rise.

Avengers: Age of Ultron – Gods of the Rising Technocratic Aeon

Joss Whedon’s follow-up to The Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, is setting new box office records for Marvel, and has roughly the same degree of critical response as the first. A few days ago, I analyzed the first in anticipation for the follow-up that premiered in the U.S. this weekend, noting the A.I. takeover plot, and the sequel was even more esoterically themed and blatant in its presentation. Hollywood is making it difficult for me not to write the same A.I. analysis over and over, but some new ground is tread here to investigate in the midst of the same pattern we’ve been witnessing of late, the extinction of man through mass depopulation and his subjugation and/or replacement with an A.I. control grid.

Iowa bird flu outbreak prompts governor to declare state of emergency

Iowa governor Terry Branstad declared a state of emergency on Friday due to a rapidly expanding avian flu outbreak, soon after state agriculture officials announced four new poultry farms had initially tested positive for the virus. Iowa, the top egg-producing state in the United States, is the third state to declare a state of emergency because of the viral outbreak, which either has led or will lead to the extermination of up to 21m chickens and turkeys nationwide.

A Totalitarian Society Has Totalitarian Science

Totalitarian science lets you know you’re living in a totalitarian society.

We are now witnessing the acceleration of Official Science. Of course, that term is an internal contradiction. But the State shrugs and moves forward.

The notion that the State can put its seal on favored science, enforce it, and punish its competitors, is anathema to a free society.

Shields up! SHIELDS UP! Astronauts going to Mars will arrive BRAIN DAMAGED – boffins

A NASA-funded study into the effects of long-term space travel has a troubling conclusion: astronauts flying to Mars could arrive with brain damage.

The research, conducted by the University of California Irvine and published in the Science Advances journal, involved bombarding mice with ionised oxygen and titanium nuclei for six weeks – giving them a dose of particle radiation equivalent to what they would experience during a trip to Mars using today's propulsion technology and spacecraft shielding.

The results were not good. The mice all showed acute brain inflammation that changed the way their neurons fired, making them less efficient at transmitting electrochemical signals. That hampered their puzzle-solving skills and memory. The effects were similar to those shown by brain cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy.

Algorithmic guilt: using secret algorithms to kick people off welfare

A wrenching and beautifully argued essay by Virginia Eubanks describes the inevitable consequences of letting secret, unaccountable algorithms decide who is eligible for welfare. The essay is part of New America's What Drives Innovation Around the Country conference, and it describes the drive to outsource management of critical state services to private firms that control costs by using proprietary, secret algorithms to ascribe suspicion and guilt to members of the public.

Silver Turns Bacteria Into Deadly Zombies

The zombie apocalypse may be more than just a horror story for some bacteria. New research shows that when exposed to a microbe-slaying silver solution, the germs can “go zombie,” wiping out their living compatriots even after death. The results may explain silver's long-lasting antibacterial power and could improve the performance of medical products that keep us safe from harmful pathogens.

Lives Of Three Babies Rescued By 3D-Printed, Growth-Flexible Implants

3D printing has come to the rescue of severe cases of a childhood disease in which the windpipe is softened, leading to collapse of the airway and breathing failure. Previously lacking any adequate intervention, tracheobronchomalacia has found an innovative fix in three babies whose condition presented them with little chance of reaching young childhood.

Researchers at the University of Michigan's C.S. Mott Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor say the three boys have become the "first in the world to benefit from groundbreaking 3D-printed devices" to stent their airways in such a way as to allow the supports to keep up with their growth.

Unmasking The GMO Humanitarian Narrative

Genetically modified (GM) crops are going to feed the world. Not only that, supporters of GM technology say it will produce better yields than non-GM crops, increase farmers’ incomes, lead to less chemical inputs, be better suited to climatic changes, is safe for human consumption and will save the lives of millions. Sections of the pro-GMO lobby are modern-day evangelists who denounce, often with a hefty dose of bigoted zeal, anyone who questions their claims and self-proclaimed humanitarian motives.

Oyster Farmer: ‘We Are Terrified’ Of The Government

The National Park Service used falsified data to shut down an 80-year-old oyster company in Point Reyes, Calif, its owner claims.

Drakes Bay Oyster Company operated in Point Reyes for decades until National Park Service officials used falsified data to force Kevin Lunny’s family-run oyster farm to shut down. The experience has left its mark on Lunny: “We are terrified,” he told lawmakers during a hearing Thursday.

“Let me be clear, we did not fail as a business,” Lunny said in his prepared testimony. “This was not bad luck. Rather, the Park Service engaged in a taxpayer-funded enterprise of corruption to run our small business out of Point Reyes.”

Killer Pharmacy: Inside a Medical Mass Murder Case

The NECC meningitis outbreak sickened and killed patients in 20 states. The worst hit was Michigan, with 264 cases and 19 deaths. Tennessee had the next worst toll, with 153 cases that left 16 people dead. Hundreds of lawsuits were filed—against NECC, its executives, their related companies, the outpatient centers and the hospitals. NECC filed for bankruptcy in December 2012, and the court issued two rulings enjoining the executives and owners from moving their money. Almost immediately after the first order was handed down, Carla Conigliaro, the majority shareholder of NECC, and her husband, Douglas Conigliaro, transferred $33.3 million to banks in a series of 18 transactions in violation of the court’s instructions, according to the government indictment.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Anyone willing to bet their life this is an isolated case? Currently Medical "mistakes" are the third leading cause of deaths in America, after cancer and heart disease.

Big pharma's mass murder frenzy

It was just another colorless trade show, one of thousands held each year in hotels across the United States. But it was there, at an Embassy Suites in Franklin, Tennessee, that the simple handoff of a business card proved to be the first link in a two-year chain of events that led to the horrific, tortuous deaths of the first victims in a mass killing that trailed from New England to Tennessee, from Michigan to North Carolina.
