The Mystery Of God & The Brain

As science has steadily undermined the long-held beliefs of religion, almost all that remains for people of faith is to say that God is and will forever be a mystery. Insofar as Einstein was religious, he possessed a feeling of awe and wonder at the mystery of the universe.

Flame retardant chemical accident 40 years ago is still damaging people's health today

Michigan Chemical Corporation also manufactured the flame retardant Firemaster, which closely resembled Nutrimaster.

But while Nutrimaster was harmless, Firemaster was highly toxic. Someone at the chemical company confused the two; Shorty took the wrong bags to the feed plant, and no one there noticed the mistake. PBB was mixed into several large batches of cattle feed which was sold to farmers throughout Michigan. The results were devastating. Tens of thousands of farm animals became deathly ill. Milk production fell. Calves died in their barns. Cows aborted. Lambs were born with gross deformities. Chickens developed strange tremors... and no one could understand why.

Finnish scientists ID link between GSK's swine flu vaccine and narcolepsy

Of the more than 30 million people in almost 50 countries who have received GlaxoSmithKline's ($GSK) Pandemrix, close to 800 have developed narcolepsy. And now, for the first time, a team from Finland thinks it knows why.

Comparing Pandemrix with Arepanrix, a vaccine used in Canada with the same adjuvant, the researchers found that Pandemrix had more of one structurally altered viral nucleoprotein--a disparity lead researcher Outi Vaarala attributed to the way the vaccines were prepared.

GMO-Free Food Sales Explode Amid Public Awareness

Americans are speaking with their wallets like never before in order to voice our true collective opinion of how corporations and Big Food are working with our food. One critical example of how we are demanding change can be seen where the sale of non-GMO Project Verified foods have more than doubled since 2013.

Verified GMO-free food sales were $3 billion in 2013 and were $8.5 billion in 2014! Not only that, organic food sales overall are projected to grow another 14% by 2018, and this is a modest estimate according to The United States Organic Food Market Forecast & Opportunities.

5 BS Health Myths People Still Believe (Thanks to One Guy)

If you woke up tomorrow and decided to switch to a perfectly healthy diet, your first step would be to try to find out what that actually is. At that point you'll quickly find yourself in a shitstorm of conflicting information about what "science" says is good for you. The reason we haven't solved problems like obesity, heart disease, and diabetes is because there's still lots we don't know about how the body interacts with food.

So the problem becomes that it's really hard to tell the difference between what is actual scientific consensus versus, say, a theory proposed by some random dude selling a cookbook. After all, it only took one high-profile "expert" to convince millions of people that ...

Liftoff Aborted: SpaceX Attempt at Historic Landing Delayed

SpaceX had to scrub Tuesday's attempt to launch a Falcon 9 rocket carrying cargo to the International Space Station and make a historic rocket landing in the process.

The landing experiment would have involved bringing the first stage of the two-stage rocket down onto a floating platform in the Atlantic Ocean, about 200 miles off the coast of Florida. Such a feat has never been done before. A successful maneuver would have marked a significant step toward making rockets more reusable and driving down the cost of spaceflight.

Obamacare vote to test Democrats’ resolve under Republican majority

House Republicans will hold a vote this week to change Obamacare’s definition of full-time work from 30 hours a week to the traditional 40, setting up an early test to see how many Democrats are willing to buck President Obama and his signature overhaul now that they are in the minority.

It’s part of the early agenda taking shape on Capitol Hill, where the GOP in both the House and Senate is planning votes on issues that have earned bipartisan support before, but which stalled as Democrats circled wagons to protect Mr. Obama politically.

MUST-READ: A New Class of GMOs that Doesn’t Need Government Approval

Just when you thought that GMOs, as we know them today, were bad enough, get ready for something potentially worse to deal with.

In a recent New York Times article, it was reported that biotech companies have discovered and exploited a loophole in government regulation that allows them to create a different breed of GMOs and market them to the public without needing approval from the USDA.

They are doing this by inserting genetic material from a plant, instead of genetic material from a plant pest (GMOs are often inserted via a bacterium, which contains a genetic “on” switch from a plant virus). So, if it is material from a plant but not a plant pest, companies can circumvent the laws and avoid regulation, something which the USDA has confirmed.

Newly Renamed High Fructose Corn Syrup Contains Toxic Mercury

Now branded as ‘fructose’ in processed foods thanks to the whole issue of the public absolutely avoiding high-fructose corn syrup like the plague, it’s important to look back at one landmark study that revealed the presence of ultra-toxic mercury within the ingredient.

Mercury is, as all of the experts admit, toxic in all of its forms. And as the study by the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy found, nearly a third of 55 popular brand-name food and beverage products that listed HFCS as the first or second ingredient were found to contain it.

Even the co-author of the study, Dr. David Wallinga, warns:

“Mercury is toxic in all its forms. Given how much high-fructose corn syrup is consumed by children, it could be a significant additional source of mercury never before considered. We are calling for immediate changes by industry and the [U.S. Food and Drug Administration] to help stop this avoidable mercury contamination of the food supply.”

DARPA Developing Microdrones Designed to Sneak Into Homes

The federal government apparently isn’t content with remotely watching and recording your every electronic (and real world) movement; it will soon control microdrones that could then be sent surreptitiously into your home. And unless the warrentless eletronic surveillance already being conducted by government-run-amok is brought to a halt, this new form of home invasion will also be warrantless.

DARPA, the military’s research and development arm, has announced its intent to sponsor development of a new category of these tiny monitors.

In a press release soliciting bids for manufacture of the microdrones, DARPA doesn’t define the potential target theatre, but any promise of foreign focus is illusory in a world where the Constitution’s prohibition on warrantless searches is seen as nothing more than a quaint parchment barrier to those determined to keep an eye (and ear) on every person in the world.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I will tell you precisely where I would like to see those microdrones deployed immediately after they have been developed: in the homes of every family of every military or research entity which has signed off on this concept, permanently.

Controversial DNA startup wants to let customers create creatures

In Austen Heinz’s vision of the future, customers tinker with the genetic codes of plants and animals and even design new creatures on a computer. Then his startup, Cambrian Genomics, prints that DNA quickly, accurately and cheaply.

“Anyone in the world that has a few dollars can make a creature, and that changes the game,” Heinz said. “And that creates a whole new world.”

The 31-year-old CEO has a deadpan demeanor that can be hard to read, but he is not kidding. In a makeshift laboratory in San Francisco, his synthetic biology company uses lasers to create custom DNA for major pharmaceutical companies. Its mission, to “democratize creation” with minimal to no regulation, frightens bioethicists as deeply as it thrills Silicon Valley venture capitalists.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The capability to do this, by tinkering with the building blocks of life, with utterly no regulation, could well lead to an ELE (extinction level event.)

GMO Lawsuit: Iowa Farmers Are Suing Syngenta

The specific type of corn, Syngenta AG’s Agrisure Viptera, had not been approved by China. The rejection of the corn led to a drop in grain and soybean futures and a three-year low for the price of corn amid at the Chicago Board of Trade amid concerns that China is going to limit not just corn but all agriculture imports. A similar drop in wheat and alfalfa prices occurred earlier in 2013 when GMO strains of both alfalfa and wheat were discovered in Washington and Oregon.

Sixteen Iowa farmers and businesses filed a GMO contamination lawsuit against Syngenta seeking both punitive and monetary damages. The biotech company which rivals Monsanto for a share of the genetically modified seed market, is based in Switzerland, but also has operations in Iowa.

Previous legal filings against Syngenta combined with the current GMO corn lawsuit now mean that the company faces court challenges from 100 commodity traders and farmers – including Archer Daniels Midland and Cargill.

Nearly 1 million children potentially misdiagnosed with ADHD

Nearly 1 million children in the United States are potentially misdiagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder simply because they are the youngest – and most immature – in their kindergarten class, according to new research by a Michigan State University economist.

These children are significantly more likely than their older classmates to be prescribed behavior-modifying stimulants such as Ritalin, said Todd Elder, whose study appears in the September issue of the Journal of Health Economics.

Such inappropriate treatment is particularly worrisome because of the unknown impacts of long-term stimulant use on children’s health, Elder said. It also wastes an estimated $320 million-$500 million a year on unnecessary medication – some $80 million-$90 million of it paid by Medicaid, he said.

Mass die-off of seabirds on Pacific coast called mysterious

Scientists are trying to figure out what’s behind the deaths of seabirds that have been found by the hundreds along the Pacific Coast since October.

Mass die-offs of the small, white-bellied grey birds known as Cassin’s auklets have been reported from British Columbia to San Luis Obispo, Calif.

It’s normal for some seabirds to die during harsh winter conditions, especially during big storms, but the scale of the current die-off is unusual.

Millions of Obamacare subsidy recipients may need to pay back-taxes.

The problem for Democrats is not exactly this: “As many as 3.4 million people who received Obamacare subsidies may owe refunds to the federal government, according to an estimate by a tax preparation firm… H&R Block is estimating that as many as half of the 6.8 million people who received insurance premium subsidies under the Affordable Care Act benefited from subsidies that were too large, the Wall Street Journal reported Thursday.” Although it’s definitely going to be a problem: ‘several million people suddenly discovering that they now owe back taxes to the government over Obamacare’ is not exactly a good scenario, especially if you belong to the political party that set that scenario up in the first place.

RETIRED VACCINE RESEARCHER SAYS "IF I HAD A CHILD NOW, THE LAST THING I WOULD ALLOW IS VACCINATION"

You will discover by reading it that the very issues we now face of FORCED vaccination of a laboratory-created vaccine to "protect" us against a laboratory-created "disease" (Swine Flu, Bird flu, etc.) was set into motion a long time ago. The vaccine researcher quoted here flat out says that the World Homicide Organization, WHO, is driven by a DEPOPULATION agenda, and that many African leaders know full well that the explosive spread of HIV and AIDS in Africa was caused by WHO-sponsored vaccinations of the 1970s. New Study Finds GMO Soy Toxic to Kidneys, Liver and Reproduction

In North America, approximately 75 to 89% of the soy beans grown are genetically modified (GM). One may not realize it, but this is concerning news – especially because recent research found that GM soy is toxic to the kidneys, liver, and more.

There isn’t just one smoking gun anymore pointing at GMO toxicology. There is now an entire arsenal of scientific research proving that genetically modified organisms adversely affect the body. Scientists Alter Crops With Techniques Outside Regulators’ Scope

Scotts and several other companies are developing genetically modified crops using techniques that either are outside the jurisdiction of the Agriculture Department or use new methods — like “genome editing” — that were not envisioned when the regulations were created.

The department has said, for example, that it has no authority over a new herbicide-resistant canola, a corn that would create less pollution from livestock waste, switch grass tailored for biofuel production, and even an ornamental plant that glows in the dark.

The trend alarms critics of biotech crops, who say genetic modification can have unintended effects, regardless of the process.

“They are using a technical loophole so that what are clearly genetically engineered crops and organisms are escaping regulation,” said Michael Hansen, a senior scientist at Consumers Union. He said the grass “can have all sorts of ecological impact and no one is required to look at it.”

The most censored health news stories of 2014 - here's what the establishment doesn't want you to remember

In August of 2014, a high-level CDC scientist named William Thompson went public with an admission that he and other scientists knowingly committed scientific fraud at the CDC. This was done, Thompson explained, to bury any public knowledge of the scientific evidence linking vaccines and autism.

In a public letter posted on the website of his legal counsel, Thompson wrote:

I regret that my coauthors and I omitted statistically significant information in our 2004 article published in the journal Pediatrics. The omitted data suggested that African American males who received the MMR vaccine before age 36 months were at increased risk for autism. Decisions were made regarding which findings to report after the data were collected...

Along with this admission, Natural News also exclusively released two secret emails further implicating the CDC and its top scientists and executives. You can read those emails here.

Obamacare: How Screwed Are You?

Since the ACA was deemed to have passed Congress, rewritten and declared a tax by Justice Roberts, altered, parsed and carved up by Presidential fiat, had its many exemptions and waivers issued to the fortunate and filibustered against its funding; dozens of minions in various administration agencies have also cranked out over 100 final regulations on how this fraud will be implemented.

That’s the long way of saying you’re about to be subjugated. Think I’m paranoid?

Okay, riddle me this:

Since when does enforcement of a law require thirty times more words and regulations than the law itself?

The answer is when enforcement is the entire point of the law.

VIKING, LIFE ON MARS, AND DR. GILBERT LEVIN

History has shown that credit for great achievements often goes to the wrong person. King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella of Spain initially gave credit for the discovery of the new world to Amerigo Vespucci rather than to Christopher Columbus. The political agenda was to declare the new lands the sole property of Spain and not share them with other European monarchs. Of course, Leif Erikson had explored the new continent in the 11th Century, and evidence suggests that the ancient Egyptians were importing cocaine from central America for the Pharaohs long before that. Indeed it may well be that America is the real historical Atlantis; the great lands beyond the Pillars of Hercules (Gibraltar) told by the ancient Egyptians to Plato. But I digress.

Ukraine turns off reactor at its most powerful nuclear plant after 'accident'

Ukraine shut down one of the six reactors in its most powerful nuclear power plant today – for the second time in a month – because of an apparent electrical malfunction.

The Zaporizhia nuclear plant’s website insisted that radiation levels in the area remained normal after the sixth reactor was “disconnected from the grid by the generator’s internal defence mechanism”.

An official statement said the plant was “operating at 40 per cent power… The reasons for the outage are being investigated”.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I'd hazard a guess here, and that would be, in a country both corrupt and horribly broke, needed maintenance protocols have not been observed, because they were "too costly"

I would like to politely point out to Ukrainian officials that the results of not doing such maintenance, and immediately, may well be even more costly to the health of the Ukrainian people.

The most censored health news stories of 2014 - here's what the establishment doesn't want you to remember

2014 was a year in which we watched the mainstream media devolve into a spot-on depiction of George Orwell's Ministry of Truth, engaging in White House-ordered news story blackouts, CDC-inspired anti-health propaganda that endangered the public and corporate-funded disinfo campaigns disguised as news.

But what were the biggest health-related censored news stories of the year? That's what this Natural News article is all about. Consider it a short list of things the establishment doesn't want you to remember actually happened.

School teachers forced to wear scarlet letter flu masks, gloves when they refuse flu shots that don't even work

The vaccine mafia is upping the stakes in its endless war against free thinking and personal choice. A shocking new report indicates that some daycare workers in Texas are now being forced to wear face masks and gloves throughout the duration of "flu season" if they refuse to be injected with live viruses and mercury.

Citing a letter received from a concerned daycare worker in the College Station area of central Texas, VacTruth.com reports that at least one daycare center in the region, Covenant Presbyterian Children's Center (CPCC), has implemented the egregious policy, which is akin to forcibly labeling all resisters with a giant scarlet letter in order to coerce compliance.

Despite ban Monsanto & Bayer's GMO plants contaminate Europe

New evidence reveals that despite a ban on cultivation of GM rapeseed in Europe, Monsanto and Bayer's plants are now freely growing there.

A new study published in PLoS titled ,"Unexpected Diversity of Feral Genetically Modified Oilseed Rape (Brassica napus L.) Despite a Cultivation and Import Ban in Switzerland," is believed to be the first report of its kind showing that despite a cultivation and seed import ban of genetically modified (GM) oilseed rape in Switzerland, Monsanto and Bayer's GM plants have been introduced into the environment there, confirming fears that once the GM genie has been let out of the bottle it can not be put back.

The secret GMO war: double agents, betrayal, greed?Dec26

Well, let me put it to you this way. What would happen to Whole Foods’ program of voluntary GMO labeling if there were mandatory labeling across America, or in any state where Whole Foods does business?

Can you guess?

I’ll break it down. Whole Foods has pledged to put “non-GMO” labels on their products by 2018. They’ll do everything they can to sell as many non-GMO products as possible. The products that don’t carry the non-GMO seal will obviously be GMO, and customers can avoid them if they want to.

On the other hand, if suddenly, out of the blue, mandatory labeling became law, the whole voluntary non-GMO label enterprise would be obsolete. Why voluntarily put that label on products when mandatory labeling handles the whole issue?

“We put non-GMO labels on our food. Aren’t we wonderful?”

“Not really. The mandatory labels tell me everything that’s GMO. All the other products are non-GMO. Thanks, but no thanks.”

Ebola Update: CDC Lab Error May Have Caused Exposure

A laboratory technician in Atlanta may have been exposed to the Ebola virus, reports the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

A small amount of material from an Ebola virus experiment that was transported Monday from one lab to another may have contained live virus. The material was on a sealed plate but should not have been moved into the second laboratory, the CDC said in a statement.

There was no exposure outside the secure laboratory and no exposure or risk to the public, the CDC says. The mistake was discovered by laboratory scientists Tuesday.

The lab technician who processed the material has no symptoms of the illness, the CDC says, and will be monitored for 21 days. Others who entered the lab will be assessed for possible exposure.

Fukushima Children Thyroid Cancer Rate Continues To Rise

Fukushima prefecture has been conducting regular checkups of over 360,000 people who were in Fukushima in March 2011 and were age 18 or under when the nuclear crisis struck. As WSJ reported in August, a study by researchers in Fukushima prefecture found 57 minors in the prefecture have been diagnosed with thyroid cancer so far and another 46 are showing symptoms that suggest they may also have the disease. Today, as The Japan Times reports, four more children are suspected of suffering from thyroid cancer in the latest survey bringing the total to 107 out of 385,000 now surveyed. This is dramatically higher than the normal "between 5 to 11 cases per million people," that Okayama University professor Toshihide Tsuda cites for national statistics between 1975 and 2008.

As The Japan Times reports,

Webmaster's Commentary:

The case is Michelle Richard v. Whole Foods, as reported by the Food Navigator (12/5/14) and other press outlets.

Immigration, open US borders: the secret reason

NAFTA. Obama, during his 2008 Presidential campaign, said he would take another look at that treaty. It needed to be reexamined.

Perhaps he did take a subsequent look, down to the left and far away, as he was flying toward Hawaii on one of his vacations.

NAFTA. From The Guardian, 4 Jan. 2014, “NAFTA: 20 years of regret for Mexico,” by Mark Weisbrot:

“The most basic measure of economic progress, especially for a developing country like Mexico, is the growth of income (or GDP) per person. Out of 20 Latin American countries…Mexico ranks 18, with growth of less than 1% annually since 1994 [when NAFTA went into effect].

Ebola Cover Up: CDC Monitoring 1,400 Active Cases: “Government Effort To Control The Message”, by Mac Slavo

According to Fox News Channel’s investigative journalist Sharyl Attkisson, who recently reached out to the Centers for Disease Control, the agency is still very much involved in monitoring individuals for the deadly African-borne virus. The problem, says Attkisson, is that the CDC is covering up the numbers, presumably to minimize panic across the United States.

Attkinson says that following the appointment of Ebola Czar Ron Klain media involvement became almost non-existent because the government stopped releasing statistics and granting interviews in an effort to control the news.

The infectious disease experts I consulted were and remain very concerned about this because if it gets out of control in this country because we will not be able to deal with it.

A lot of the media coverage has gone from overtime to almost nothing since they appointed the Ebola Czar, and I don’t think that’s any accident – I think it’s a strategy.

Webmaster's Commentary:

How the CIA Launched the «Financial Pearl Harbor» Attacks on Russia and Venezuela

The net result of the CIA-inspired fracking operations, which the Saudis were warned not to pursue by petroleum engineers working for some foreign-based firms like Schlumberger, is that there will be an oil supply glut for the next 5 years. The glut will be followed by a reduction in Saudi oil production unless new oil fields are brought on line. There is now a major push by U.S. and Canadian oil companies to bring online the Keystone XL pipeline from Canada to the United States to offset the expected sharp rise in oil prices in four to five years. But with Canada suffering financially from the drop in oil revenues, the Keystone XL project is also on financially shaky ground.

How Nonprofit Hospitals Are Seizing Patients' Wages

On the eastern edge of St. Joseph, Missouri, lies the small city's only hospital, a landmark of brick and glass. Music from a player piano greets visitors at the main entrance, and inside, the bright hallways seem endless. Long known as Heartland Regional Medical Center, the nonprofit hospital and its system of clinics recently rebranded. Now they're called Mosaic Life Care, because, their promotional materials say: "We offer much more than health care. We offer life care."

Two miles away, at the rear of a low-slung building is a key piece of Mosaic—Heartland's very own for-profit debt collection agency.

When patients receive care at Heartland and don't or can't pay, their bills often end up here at Northwest Financial Services. And if those patients don't meet Northwest's demands, their debts can make another, final stop: the Buchanan County Courthouse.

Webmaster's Commentary:

In the US, we have the most expensive health care in the world, and many times, some of the most lousy outcomes.

And even if you HAVE insurance, you can still get financially crucified if that policy doesn't come from a union, an association, or membership organisation of some kind.

We know. With the insurance Mike had when he got ill with pneumonia last year, the insurance we had for him only paid 10% of the bill, and we are stuck with the other 90%. I am already in negotiations with the hospital, and having worked collections myself, understand that as long as you are consistent, and offer a reasonable payment plan, the hospital cannot drag you into collection.

Intelligent, enlightened countries in Europe have figured out how to fund health care, and have a single payer system, where you have to have the basic insurance, but if you want more coverage, you can get it by buying more.

A New Resistance film to expose dangers of Roundup in food, water and all around us

It has been in constant and increasing use for more than 50 years. But glyphosate, the main ingredient in Monsanto's Roundup herbicide, isn't at all safe for humans. And a new film project known as A New Resistance seeks to make this fact known on a wide scale, warning the public that this deadly chemical is now present in water, soil, air and food, and is slowly killing us all.

Since 1974, conventional farmers have been dousing their crops with what they were told is a completely safe, broad-spectrum weedkiller. This weedkiller has since become the number one selling herbicide in the world, but a growing body of independent science now shows that it is destroying human health, promoting obesity, infertility, cancer, irritable bowel syndrome, autism and dementia.

FLASHBACK - The Calm Before The Storm: An Interview With Dr. Gilbert Levin

In a little over one month, the British built Beagle 2 exobiology lander will look for signs of extinct or extant life on the surface of Mars. Not since NASA's Viking mission 27 years ago has another search for life on Mars been attempted.

One has to wonder why since the Viking mission left behind important unanswered questions - such as: are there organic molecules from either life and meteorites laying on the surface? Or are they destroyed by the hypothetical oxidants many NASA researchers say are certainly there? One of the Principal Investigators for the NASA Viking biology team was Dr. Gilbert V. Levin who invented and built the Viking Labeled Release Experiment. His experiment tested the soil of Mars nine times at two different landing sites under different temperature regimes and environmental conditions. All his data point to microbes metabolizing a nutrient solution and giving off an indicative radioactive CO2 gas.

Humans Started Using Fire Habitually 350,000 Years Ago, Researchers Claim

Two years ago the team at UNESCO declared the cave to have “universal value” because of its documentation of human history dating back to half a million years. The site allowed researchers to precisely document how the use of fire by humans evolved over a lengthy period of time.

Researchers examined the caves sediment layers and found that most flints were not burned in layers that were older than 350,000 years old. The flints, characterized by cracking, red or black coloration began regularly showing up 350,000 years ago. The group found small round depressions where fragments called pot lids flaked off the stone, indicating exposure to fire.

Nasa finds evidence of 'life on Mars'

Evidence of life on Mars could have been found by Nasa's Curiosity Rover.

One of the instruments on the robot found mysterious spikes of methane that cannot easily be explained by geology or other theories. Scientists can’t be sure what is causing the spikes, but it is possible that it could be very small, bacteria-like living organisms.

If the gas is coming from living, breathing microbes then it would mark one of the biggest discoveries in history.

Scientists have said that the rover now has to test and re-test the possibility of life.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Back in 1976 the Viking Landers carried two different experiments to detect life. The first took a sample of Martian soil and dropped it into a generic nutrient solution tagged with a radioactive isotope and waited for radioactive gas to be released by metabolic processes. This experiment showed a positive result.

The second experiment was a gas chromatograph/mass spectrometer that heated a sample of Martian soil to cause large organic molecules to leave the soil and be drawn into a mass spectrometer, but unlike the inorganic mass spectrometer the heat was kept low enough to not cause the molecules themselves to come apart. This experiment returned a negative for the organic molecules it was designed to detect.

NASA was faced with one positive and one negative result. Most of us sitting at those consoles were convinced the positive needed to be given priority.

NASA was under a huge amount of public pressure over the issue of life on Mars. In particular the Buy-bull bangers were adamant that there could not possibly be life on Mars because the Bible did not mention it, and life on other planets meant Earth was not special in the eyes of whatever gods were being prayed to. Some of the controllers were getting death threats from fanatics like the Children of God. The post-Apollo "New" NASA was already entrenched. The scientists with the PhDs were no longer in control, but political appointees with MBAs ran the show, and so a political decision was made to ignore the positive result, rely on the negative, and declare that Viking had not found any life on Mars at all. That placated the masses at what we all felt was the expense of the truth.

Now, years later, subsequent probes to Mars have discovered a high amount of perchlorate in the Martian soil. In the presence of heat, perchlorate will decompose organic molecules. So the Viking organic mass spectrometer was destroying the organic molecules before it ever had a chance to detect them. That means the negative result was bogus data and can be discarded. That leaves just one positive result.

In subsequent years, other scientists have re-examined the Viking data and come to the conclusion that we did indeed find life on Mars.

And before anyone shouts, "Oh no, NASA would never hide such an important find", please recall that when Marco Polo returned from China he was promptly locked away in a dungeon by the Dominicans on the orders of the church, who thought that their control over Europe would be threatened by public awareness of a great civilization to the East that had never heard of Jesus. Eventually, word of Marco Polo's discoveries leaked out and he was released.

There is no question that confirmation of extraterrestrial life will be a socially transformative event. Humans might decide to put down their weapons of war and unite to find our just who is out there. For those governments dependent on war, that is a huge threat to their power and ample motive to bias their assessment of the Viking results towards the negative.

“They are all fine and being monitored regularly by the medical team leading the study,” it said on Thursday.

Did Deadly Gamma-Ray Burst Cause a Mass Extinction on Earth?

A gamma-ray burst, the most powerful kind of explosion known in the universe, may have triggered a mass extinction on Earth within the past billion years, researchers say. These deadly outbursts could help explain the so-called Fermi paradox, the seeming contradiction between the high chance of alien life and the lack of evidence for it, scientists added.

"This may be an explanation, or at least a partial one, to what is called the Fermi paradox or the 'Big Silence,'" said lead study author Tsvi Piran, a physicist at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. "Why we haven't encountered advanced civilizations so far?

Webmaster's Commentary:

With all due apologies to Professor Stephen Hawking, I rather doubt any alien civilization that has achieved interstellar travel would find Earth and its inhabitants to be of any interest. It is human vanity alone that creates the image of aliens just itching to cross the vast distances between stars to admire (or invade) us. While Fermi was aware that Einstein's General Relativity established the speed of light as an unbreakable limit, Fermi, like so many Star Trek fans would later do, assumed that someone would find a way around that limit. But science fiction is always presented as people just like us, only with superior technology. Indeed Gene Roddenberry's "elevator pitch" for Star Trek was "Wagon Train to the stars", derived from the successful series "Wagon Train" that showed contemporary people solving contemporary problems but set comfortably remote in the old west so as not to offend anyone. But the historical reality is that each advance in technology changes us; our awareness, our behavior, our perceptions. An alien civilization advanced enough to leap between the stars will have so little in common with us that contact becomes pointless. Do you stop and visit every anthill you pass as you drive to Las Vegas? Of course not; you have far more important things to be doing.

That being said, there is another possible solution to the Fermi paradox aside from the very real issue of gamma ray bursts. And that is or tinkering with the code of life itself. Sooner or later every advanced civilization will achieve the ability to rewrite their genetic programming, and if our own early efforts are any measure, they will make mistakes, possibly ones leading to their own extinction (as could become the case with the Epicyte gene). This is a crisis point that every advanced civilization will encounter as they evolve, and precious few may survive it.

German Poultry Industry Giant Returns to GMO-Free Production

Wiesenhof’s U-turn comes just 10 months after the German Poultry Association (ZDG) unilaterally declared that it was stopping using GM-free animal feed, following similar moves by other associations in England and Denmark. The reasons provided for the step after over a decade of GMO-free feeding were an alleged shortage of GMO-free soya, the risk of contamination, and the associated legal uncertainty.

VETERAN FALSELY CONVICTED BY LYING JUDGE

A mineral is not a drug; and, since David kept the minerals in their pure form, the FDA and “Big Pharma” could not stop him from selling them. But it was within their power to falsely accuse him of mislabeling his products – a felony. Whether he mislabeled or not wasn’t their real motivation. He became a force they could not control. David, like many veterans today, has been persecuted by his own government – a government that he, like other veterans supported unconditionally when they were in the service. (So what happened to reciprocal support for veterans today?)

A Case Of Mistaken Identity Sends Healthy Boy To An Ebola Ward

But on the center's second day of operation, a series of errors put the life of an apparently healthy 14-year-old boy at risk.

This doesn't mean I'm opposed to the theory of vaccination, by the way. In fact, I'm the author of A Blueprint for Safer Vaccines, an audio guide to saving lives and preventing vaccine injuries and deaths.

“Ebola is a hidden killer. You can’t count it until people are infected with symptoms, by which time they have infected other people. So cases will be under-reported.

“There is a second fact compounding this. People are afraid to report their numbers to the government. They are afraid to call the helpline. They are afraid they will be taken away to treatment centres and never see their families again. There are reports of people disappearing into the forest because they’d rather die with their family than be taken into a treatment site.”

Whooping cough outbreak at Massachusetts high school affected only vaccinated students

Unvaccinated children are supposedly the cause, according to state health officials, of a recent whooping cough outbreak that occurred in the posh Cape Cod area of Massachusetts. But as reported by CBS Boston, all of the children affected by the outbreak were already vaccinated, proving once again that vaccines don't really work.

Some 15 children at Falmouth High School reportedly came down with the respiratory illness, which also goes by the name pertussis, sparking a wave of panic about a corresponding increase in vaccine exemptions. But as usual, nobody affected by the outbreak was unvaccinated, and no matter how hard the media tries to spin the issue, those who were vaccinated were not protected.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Indeed the inescapable conclusion is that the vaccine CAUSED the illness!

Illegal pro-GMO observers accused of disrupting Oregon labeling law vote count

Amid a recount of Oregon’s ballot initiative over labeling of genetically-modified foods, the pro-agribusiness contingent, known as the “No on 92 Coalition,” tried to illegally place out-of-state election observers in at least four counties, opponents say.

The statewide vote on Measure 92 - which, if passed, would demand genetically-engineered ingredients to be labeled as such - is subject to a hand recount given the original, computerized tally showed that the initiative failed by just 812 votes, within the mandatory-recount margin. The recount began on Tuesday and will continue through Dec. 9.

ObamaCare incentivizes hiring amnestied illegals to the tune of $3000 each

If there’s one thing we’ve learned about ObamaCare - aside from the fact that it’s an abject disaster in terms of meeting its stated goals - it’s that the unintended consequences of its passage just keep piling up. Sure, conservatives warned of the chaos that would stem from the Dems’ “signature legislation,” but even those of us who were sounding the alarm are amazed at how it keeps managing to fail in new, exciting, ways.

Today we’re learning that the law actually incentivizes corporations to hire the millions of illegals who are currently enjoying Obama’s unconstitutional amnesty order - instead of hiring actual, legal, U.S. citizens. In fact, under the ACA, companies who hire an amnestied illegal can dodge a $3,000 penalty that they would have had to pay if they’d hired a citizen.

Breastfed, Homebirthed Babies Taken Away From Parents For Not Using Hospital

All three of their babies have been taken away from them and placed in the care of strangers. Levi was 10 months old when his mother, local singer and songwriter Erica May Rengo, gave birth to his twin brother and sister, at their home in Bellingham, Washington.

When this interview was filmed in October 2000, Dr. Eugene Mallove was Editor-In-Chief of the magazine, Infinite Energy and Director of the New Energy Research Laboratory in New Hampshire. "He held two MIT degrees in Aeronautical-Astronautical Engineering and a Harvard Doctorate in Environmental Health Sciences (Air Pollution Control Engineering). He had broad experience in high- technology engineering at companies including Hughes Research Labs, TASC (The Analytic Science Corporation) and MIT Lincoln Laboratory. "Dr. Mallove was the Chief Science Writer at MIT when the cold fusion story broke in March 1989, and he resigned in 1991 after his requested investigation into the altered cold fusion data at MIT (which helped to discredit the whole subject) was not properly done." Mallove's book, 'Fire from Ice' detailed the 1989 report of table- top cold fusion from Stanley Pons and Martin Fleischmann at the University of Utah. Among other things, the book claims that the team did produce "greater-than-unity" output energy in an experiment successfully replicated on several occasions, but that the results were suppressed through an organized campaign of ridicule from mainstream physicists, including some at his own alma mater, MIT.

DIY Exoplanet Detector Using a DSLR

Your DSLR can do much more than just take a few nice portraits or the occasional vacation photos – with some DIY magic you can actually turn it into a device which can detect planets outside our solar system – something that 20 years ago was impossible even with the most sophisticated telescopes.

So how can you achieve this? David Schneider who you can see in the video above was able to use his Canon EOS Rebel XS (a.k.a Canon 1000D) camera. With old manual-focus 300mm Nikon telephoto lens he got from eBay for under a $100 with a $17 adapter

There are of course very expensive options that you can buy, However as a DIY enthusiast he decided to create something on his own based on a device called a barn door tracker (a relatively simple device that will allow you to shoot longer exposures and track the stars to compensate for the Earth’s rotation).

Feds crack down on phony Ebola cures

Would you buy an Ebola cure over the Internet?

At least three companies hope so. Internet retailers Bodyhealth.com, Ebola-C and LifeSilver imply on their web sites, Facebook pages or Twitter accounts that their products will help ward off or mitigate the Ebola virus.

This week, federal regulators are cracking down.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration and Federal Trade Commission sent warning letters Tuesday and Wednesday to the three companies.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Last summer, the World Health Organization stated that unproven cures could be tried during the Ebola crisis. But the US Government, the same US Government that just crippled health care in general for the sake of corporate profits with Obamacare, is once again protecting corporate profits by shutting down anyone but the giant pharmaceutical corporations, yet every Ebola treatment offered by the big pharmaceutical companies remains unproven, and some have turned out to be totally ineffective.

Remember, this is the same government that mandated everyone take a vaccine for Swine Flu back in 1976 which killed fifty times more people than the actual flu did. Are you willing to bet your life that they are right this time? I am not.

Just a week after Dr. Craig Spencer was declared 'Ebola-free', The Daily Mail reports a woman, who had arrived from Guinea 18 days ago (and was on the NYC Ebola monitoring list), dropped dead in a Brooklyn hair salon this afternoon. FDNY sent their Special Operations and Hazmat units but she was declared dead at the scene. Witnesses said she was bleeding from the "face, nose, mouth, everything."

Jennifer Huculak-Kimmel billed $950K US after giving birth in U.S.

Jennifer Huculak-Kimmel gave birth nine weeks early while on holiday in Hawaii in November 2013. Her baby daughter had to be hospitalized.

"My water broke two days into our holiday," Huculak-Kimmel said. "I spent six weeks on bed rest and then baby Reece was delivered by emergency C-section on December 10th."

Reece had to stay in the hospital for just over two months. Huculak-Kimmel thought that her insurance would cover the almost $1 million US bill.

In the end, Blue Cross denied payment. In a letter to the family, a Blue Cross worker wrote, "We are unable to provide coverage for any medical expenses incurred for Ms. Huculak's baby" and "please note that Ms. Huculak's travel policy expired on Nov. 9, 2013."

Webmaster's Commentary:

CORRECTION: Pacific Blue Cross issued health insurance for the Canadian couple to travel outside Canada. They are not part of Canada's health system, which apparently stops at the border.

George Soros, his Ebola bioweapons lab and the death of WHO spokesperson Glenn Thomas in the Ukraine

The Kenema lab closure should be front page news around the globe just as the story of Baxter contaminating 72 kilos of seasonal flu in its biosecurity level 3 lab and sending it to four countries in 2009 should have been front page news.

Man recovering from Ebola quarantined at Delhi airport

Officials have quarantined a man who was cured of Ebola in Liberia but continued to show traces of the virus in samples of his semen after arriving in the country, the health ministry said on Tuesday.

The ministry said in a statement that the Indian national had been shown to be negative for Ebola in tests conforming to World Health Organisation (WHO) guidelines, but had been quarantined as a precautionary measure when he arrived at New Delhi airport on November 10. Later, tests of his semen detected traces of the virus.

Petitioning Jim Benson - Stop Fracking next to El Paso, Texas

Fracking endangers the health, safety and welfare of people, pollutes the air and ground, results in rising crime and social and medical costs, utterly destroys ecosystems and permanently contaminates underground aquifers with toxic compounds and consumes billions of gallons of water. Yet, just a few minutes away from the city limits of El Paso, Texas a major metropolitan area of 675,000 people, and a few miles from the farming community of Dell City, Texas, the University of Texas System has leased over a hundred thousand acres to Torchlight Energy Resources, Inc. for the sole purpose of fracking. Torchlight Energy says that it may drill up to as many as 2500 wells on this area immediately east of El Paso called the Diablo Plateau which, with the Otero Mesa in New Mexico, forms a rich ecosystem of plants and animals. Torchlight Energy Resources must not drill there. The University of Texas Lands System must not allow them.

10 Reasons Why Flu Shots Are More Dangerous Than The Flu!

The verdict is out on flu shots. Many medical experts now agree it is more important to protect yourself and your family from the flu vaccine than the flu itself. Let’s take a look at the reasons behind this verdict:

Have scientists finally found the 'gay gene'? Major new study of 800 brothers backs claims sexuality is in our genes

A large study of gay brothers has reignited the debate over whether a 'gay gene' exists - and adds to evidence that genes influence men's chances of being homosexual.

Some scientists believe several genes might affect sexual orientation.

Researchers who led the new study of nearly 800 gay brothers say their results bolster previous evidence pointing to genes on the X chromosome.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I find it amazing how the buy-bull bangers continue to demonize gays as sinful, especially when you consider that Jesus spent all his time with other men (except his wife Mary Magdalene). :)

Beyond that, I think all the people screaming about population control need to understand that humans have a built-in population-limiting mechanism; homosexuality! If you study history it quickly becomes apparent that the per-capita occurrence of homosexuality increases during times of social stress. The gays not only have as much right to be here as anyone else, but in the long run they are essential to the long term survival of the human race.

Comet lander: Camera sees Philae's hairy landing

High-resolution pictures have now been released of the Philae probe in the act of landing on Comet 67P last Wednesday.

They were acquired by the Narrow Angle Camera on the Rosetta satellite, which had dropped the little robot towards the surface of the "ice mountain".

The images are presented as a mosaic covering the half-hour or so around the "first touchdown" - the probe then bounced to a stop about 1km away.

Philae lost battery power on Saturday and is no longer talking with Earth.

Scientists still have not located the craft's current resting spot.

What did the Brisbane G-20 summit accomplish?

President Barack Obama was equally effusive, saying the gathering was not a “chinwag,” an Australian word for meaningless talk. Rather, he said, “it has been a good week for American leadership.” At a press conference, Obama listed expanding trade, a visa accord with China, and “a big advance on climate change” as tangible achievements.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So the headline accomplishment is a deal to take seriously a problem that was made up in the first place. Left unsaid in this article is the agreement by the G20 to consider bank savings accounts as investments in the bank, subject to loss if the bank gets into trouble.

Your “Children Will Be Fined” If You Fail To Sign Up For Obamacare: People Are Going To Be In for A Shock

But, as is often the case when the government says one thing, they mean exactly the opposite. In this case, when they say incentive what they really mean is that you are going to be penalized if you fail to acquire government mandated health insurance. But not just you. Your children, who apparently no longer belong to you anyway based on a recent court ruling, will be fined for your failure to get them on the insurance rolls

Roundup Is Dumped On Crops Right BEFORE Harvest

Drenching Crops with Pesticide Right Before Harvest … to Save a Buck

Monsanto’s Roundup herbicide (technically known as “glyphosate”) has been linked to many diseases.

However, farmers appear to be dumping it on crops right before harvest.

Specifically, Monsanto International published a paper in 2010 touting the application of Roundup to kill crops right before harvest, in order to dry out the crops in advance and produce a more uniform and earlier harvest

Maui's GMO Ban Blocked By Federal Judge

A federal judge says Maui County may not implement a new law banning the cultivation of genetically modified organisms until he can consider arguments in a lawsuit against the measure.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So the GMO planters will just go on planting and by the time the judge finally hears the lawsuit it will be too late. Maui will be fully contaminated by these dangerous plants. The entire case against the ban is that the GMO companies will suffer harm. The exact same argument could be made about companies that dump toxic and nuclear waste; banning them from dumping their "product" onto Hawaii harms them financially. Does that mean we have to let them go on doing it?

Obamacare Facebook page comments mostly from small group of supporters

Americans began heading anew this weekend to President Obama’s official Obamacare Facebook page to gather information on the new round of health care enrollment, share their experiences shopping for insurance on the federal exchange and voice their opinions on the president’s signature domestic achievement.

However, what some would view as a robust marketplace of ideas is actually controlled by just a few, an analysis of the Web page shows.

Sixty percent of the site’s 226,838 comments generated from September 2012 to early last month can be attributed to fewer than 100 unique profiles, according to an analysis completed by The Washington Times with assistance from an outside data analytics team. Many of those profiles belong to just one person who created multiple aliases or personas to widen her influence and multiply her voice.

Comet probe sends back science treasure in final hours

Crowning a historic feat, the robot lab streamed data from its experiments back to its mother ship Rosetta in the final hours before its battery ran down.

This included the outcome of an eagerly-waited chemistry test of a sample drilled from the comet's icy and dusty surface, scientists said.

Rosetta's comet drill results may not get to Earth - ESA

ESA researchers are using all possible ways to explore the surface of the comet, including taking the temperature and capturing some drilling samples. But now specialists are expressing concern over whether the data can be transferred back to Earth.

"The drill has been active today, whether it will sample and will succeed in bringing these samples to ovens we shall know this evening," said Stephan Ulamec, Philae lander manager. "This would be fantastic but it is not secured - maybe the battery will be empty before we get contact again."
