Realtor feared the worst

This was my neighbor. He was a well liked man who had very little. A couple of beloved dogs a truck and his home. The Bank,The Wasco County Sheriff's department and the Oregon State Police took it all from him.
I don't believe much of the story that has come out. They did a 24 hour autopsy and declared him a suicide because he could have come out. Bull! They had him surrounded with machine guns a robot and an armored vehicle. They shot the house full of incendiary teargas. That's when the place went up. They say he shot one of his dogs but one dog was found near him him unshot. The other dog was found near the front door where the police tried to enter. They haven't produced a gun either. The whole thing stinks!

As soon as the bank told Dee Ashley last Friday that she had to give an eviction notice Monday to a man she’d seen declining for months, she had a gut feeling it would end badly.

The Boston Show Trial

The Boston Show Trial: The “bloody confession” of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev
Not even Leonardo da Vinci could have written uniformly spaced, straight-line text on the curved surface of the inside of a boat

This exemplifies the absurdity of the phony trial taking place in Boston to cover up the phony “bombing”: not only would it have required a special pencil, but the confession is written in straight lines, which are uniformly spaced, which would be impossible for someone lying on their side and using the curved surface of a boat as their template!

Boston Bombing Hoax Continues With Trial

The current trial of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev features a mass of fabricated evidence including video purporting to show Dzhokhar killing a policeman.
Even more disturbing, it involves the complicity of dozens of false witnesses, including "friends,"
the mass media, his lawyers, police and the "justice"
system in general.

The evidence for concluding that this was a drill using amputee actors and special effects filming is overwhelming, where neither Tamerlan nor Dzhokhar Tsarnaev were responsible for the explosions or events thereafter. The mass media insults our intelligence. How, for example, could Dzhokhar have run over his brother after Tamerlan had been arrested by the police?

(*just a reminder that this silly $#!^ continues in Boston , and that our tax dollars are funding it .)

Racial Thursdays – Alaska Platoon Investigated For Questionable Tradition

Tradition is strong in the military, regardless of the branch. However, a platoon in Alaska may have taken the idea of “tradition” a bit too far and created something questionable.

A platoon in Alaska at Fort Wainwright is currently under investigation for something that’s come to be called “Racial Thursdays.” According to reports, Racial Thursdays offer the men in the platoon one day a week to freely use racial slurs against each other without retaliation by the recipient. The platoon is part of the 1/25 Stryker Brigade Combat Team – the 2nd platoon, C company, 3rd battalion, 21st infantry regiment.

Jeb Bush, and the predictable arc of presidential primaries

I don't know if Jeb Bush is a naturally optimistic fellow, although if you asked him he'd surely say he is (every candidate has to proclaim their optimism, particularly about America). But in recent weeks he's had some cause for concern. Not long ago, an NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll found a full 42 percent of Republicans saying they wouldn't consider voting for him. Bush is the "establishment" candidate at a time when the Tea Party still dominates the Republican base.

And Republicans seem unusually taken with Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, who has all the correct positions for GOP primary voters, not to mention the glow that comes from being the Next Big Thing. After two elections in which older, familiar figures won the nomination then lost to Barack Obama, one might think the party is ready to nominate someone new.

But Bush may not have to worry. If the primaries go the way they usually do, he'll prevail.

What Does the Netanyahu Victory 'Mean' for America?

Was it a clear endorsement of Netanyahu's policies? Do we even know what those policies will turn out to be?

Didn’t other nations pretty much say to the US after Bush’s re-election, “Okay, but if you want to start or continue Bush’s wars, you are now on your own.”

Is it not at least conceivable that other nations should now respond to Israel and say, “Okay, but if you truly are not going to agree to a two-state solution, and if your settlements are going to continue to be planned and located to make a two-state solution impossible, then you are now on your own"?

I mean, can we not make continued support contingent on a policy that has at least some hope of leading to (1) peace in the Mideast, and (2) extrication of the US from a situation in which we are attacked and our citizens are killed because we are perceived to support Israel unconditionally?

According to the report, for one example, Google took content from companies like Yelp, TripAdvisor, and Amazon. In the latter case, Google lifted product rankings and placed them in their own search results for those products. When the companies complained to Google about the process, Google threatened to remove them entirely from results. The Journal quotes this section of the report: "It is clear that Google’s threat was intended to produce, and did produce, the desired effect, which was to coerce Yelp and TripAdvisor into backing down."

The global de-dollarization trend continues as it appears the UK’s move to join the China-led Asian Infrastructure Development Bank has indeed shown other US “allies” that spurning Washington’s advice is actually acceptable and concerns about the institution’s “standards” may simply be a diversion aimed at undermining China’s attempt to exercise more influence in its own backyard.

Magic Obama Logic: Mandatory Voting = Good, Mandatory Voter IDs = Bad and Racist

It’s being reported that Obama recently went on record that he believes the U.S. should have mandatory voting. An interesting stance, wouldn’t you say, considering he’s staunchly against mandatory voter ID laws.

So…mandatory voter laws = good, but mandatory voter ID = bad and racist? How exactly does that work again?

Court: NSA Spying May Continue Even If Congress Lets Authority Expire

The National Security Agency may be allowed to continue scooping up American phone records indefinitely even if congressional authority for the spying program expires later this year, according to a recently declassified court order.

The legal underpinning of the NSA's bulk collection of U.S. call data resides in a provision of the post-9/11 USA Patriot Act that is scheduled to sunset on June 1. The common understanding among lawmakers and the intelligence community is that the surveillance program will halt unless Congress reauthorizes Section 215 of the Patriot Act in some fashion.

But a passage buried on the last pages of an order from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court declassified last week leaves open the door for the program—exposed publicly by Edward Snowden nearly two years ago—to continue even if lawmakers let Section 215 lapse.

By knocking out their intellectual competition, political elites and their media moguls hope to eliminate all alternative analysis and opinion by labeling it as “extremist”. They want to wind back the clock, to a pre-internet, monolithic corporate media cartel, and back to a monopoly of ideas.

The Coming Color Revolution Chaos in Kyrgyzstan

The first part of the article discussed Richard Miles’ Color Revolution credentials and why the arrival of the ‘Male Nuland’ in Bishkek likely portends an oncoming destabilization there. It also looked at American policy towards Uzbekistan and the importance of Ambassador Spratlen’s appointment to Tashkent. An overview of the US’s grand strategy against Russia, as adapted for the Central Asian vector, was also explored in that section. At this juncture, the article forecasts what the chaos that Miles is about to unleash in Kyrgyzstan will look like, including the tempting ‘media Crimea’ scenario that is bound to split Tashkent from Moscow and crown Uzbekistan as the US’s long-term Lead From Behind proxy in Central Asia.

The Rats are POURING out of DC’s Sinking Ship

As many here know, the East has been trying to formulate its banking alternatives for its member states these past several years. This is of monumental importance to Eurasian alliances, because without a network of lending institutions of their own, they’ve often been at the (lack of) mercy of the Western banking powers. For several years now, Eastern alliances such as the BRICS, have made a great deal of progress on this front.

That progress has been met with fear and loathing from DC and London, as previously, they’ve enjoyed the perks from being the world’s predatory lender through institutions like the World Bank and IMF.

During the last week however, while many of us weren’t looking, some very interesting developments have been taking place on the “grand chessboard”!

Exposed: US Played Secret Role in Botched Philippine Raid That Left Dozens Dead

Contradicting prior U.S. claims, a Philippine government investigation released Tuesday in Manila suggests that the U.S. secretly had a hand in a failed commando raid in that country that resulted in a bloodbath and set in motion an ongoing political scandal.

In the botched January Mamasapano operation, which targeted two "terrorists" with U.S. bounties on their heads, Philippine forces suffered a disastrous defeat that left 44 police officers, four civilians, and 18 members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front dead. One of the suspects, Zulkifli bin Hir, was also killed in the confrontation.

The consequences, however, went far beyond the immediate lives lost.

Fed doublespeak and the dismantling of the middle class: Fed states dropping “patient” word doesn’t mean it is impatient on rates. In 1970 roughly 7 percent of all income was earned by the top 1 percent. Today it is closer to 20 percent.

The Fed has taken a page out of George Orwell’s 1984. Doublespeak is all the rage and the Fed’s statements are analyzed as if sifting for gold. Even when they don’t do anything markets jump. The Fed sets the tone on our debt addiction. The Fed dropped the word “patient” in terms of increasing interest rates but then goes on to say this doesn’t mean that it will be impatient. Say what? The Fed hints at tapering and balks because it claims there is “low inflation” but when we look at real inflation, the price of many items is shooting up dramatically. Many of these items were staples of the middle class including an affordable college education, a home, and being able to earn a good wage. Back in 1975 roughly 7 percent of all income earned went to the top 1 percent. Today it is closer to 20 percent. The last time it was this high was during the years prior to the Great Depression.

Fury at University of Virginia after cops bash black honors student bloody while arresting him for public intoxication …and now the governor is calling for an investigation

Virginia's governor is asking for an investigation into how a college student ended up bloodied during an arrest outside of a bar early Wednesday morning.

Martese Johnson, a junior at University of Virginia, was arrested on charges of obstruction of justice without force, and public swearing or intoxication after being denied entry to a campus-area bar.

Governor Terry McAuliffe's office released a statement Wednesday that called for state police to examine 'the use of force' by liquor control officers.

In a video obtained by student newspaper The Cavalier Daily, a bystander shouts that Johnson's head is bleeding and Johnson is heard yelling: 'I go to UVA. You f******* racists. ... How did this happen?'

A group called Concerned Black Students circulated a statement saying that Johnson did not resist during questioning or his arrest outside of Trinity Irish Pub and received 10 stitches in his head after the arrest.

U.S. could back UN resolution on Palestine, White House official says

The Obama administration might be open to lending its support to the UN Security Council's resolution that would define the principle for a two-state solution as based on Israel's 1967 borders, a senior White House official told The New York Times. The move would come in response to Netanyahu's withdrawal of his support for the establishing of a Palestinian state as expressed in his Bar Ilan speech in 2009.

The U.S. has previously refused to endorse the resolution, which allows for mutually agreed swaps of territory between Israel and the future Palestinian state. Israel vehemently opposes it.

"The premise of our position internationally has been to support direct negotiations between the Israelis and the Palestinians,” the official told the Times. “We are now in a reality where the Israeli government no longer supports direct negotiations. Therefore we clearly have to factor that into our decisions going forward."

Republicans crow over Benjamin Netanyahu’s victory

Israeli Prime minister and Republicans will continue drumbeat of criticism of nuclear talks with Iran

Congressional Republicans are confident Benjamin Netanyahu’s return as Israeli prime minister will help them ratchet up pressure on President Barack Obama to abandon his current round of nuclear weapons talks with Iran.

Netanyahu has been an outspoken critic of Obama’s plans to deal with Tehran, including in a controversial address to Congress earlier this month. For Republicans hoping to influence the deal, or scuttle it entirely, renewed opposition from the leader of the U.S.’s closest ally in the Middle East is exactly the kind of ideological support they’re looking for.

Mar 19 01:06

As Netanyahu no longer talks peace, Israel is set for paralysis

On Monday – the day before his election victory - he abandoned his conciliatory words and went back to being against a Palestinian state. “Anyone who is going to establish a Palestinian state, anyone who is going to evacuate territories today, is simply giving a base for attacks to the radical Islam against Israel,” he said. “This is the true reality that was created here in the last few years.”

So Mr Netanyahu has jumped from being against the two-state solution, to being in favour, to being against it once again. His current position forces him once again to bang his head against stubborn demographic reality: if there is one state west of the Jordan, it must eventually be an Arab state.
***
Moreover, ordinary Israelis can never forget that whenever they have relinquished territory in the past – by leaving south Lebanon in 2000, for example, or evacuating settlers from the Gaza Strip in 2005 – nothing has been gained save for barrages of rockets launched by Hizbollah and Hamas.

Truth Is Our Country — Paul Craig Roberts

snip: The US media is no longer run by journalists. It is run by former government officials and corporate advertising executives. The values of the mega-media companies depend on their federal broadcast licenses. If the companies go against the government, the companies take a risk that their licenses will not be renewed and, thus, the multi-billion dollar values of the companies fall to zero. If media organizations investigate wrongful activities by corporations, they risk the loss of advertising revenues and become less viable.

Ninety percent control of the media gives government a Ministry of Propaganda, and that is what exists in the United States. Nothing reported in the print or TV media can be trusted.

President Obama, whose party was trounced in last year’s midterm election due to poor turnout among Democrats, endorsed the idea of mandatory voting Wednesday.

“It would be transformative if everybody voted,” Mr. Obama said during a town-hall event in Cleveland. “That would counteract [campaign] money more than anything. If everybody voted, then it would completely change the political map in this country.”

Whistleblower: State Department Employees Who Don’t Sign Separation Agreement Face Dire Consequences

Failure to sign a formal separation agreement can have dire consequences for rank-and-file State Department employees, an agency whistleblower told The Daily Caller.

That is in stark contrast to what happens to top-level officials such as former Sec. of State Hillary Clinton if they refuse to sign the separation form, OF-109.

Ramifications for lower-level State Department employees include the withholding of retirement benefits and possible investigations conducted by the agency into why employees declined to sign the form, whistleblower Richard Higbie says.

By signing OF-109, agency employees affirm that they have turned over all records — classified or unclassified; emails or physical documents — pertaining to official government business.

A year ago, in a bureaucratic shift that went unremarked in the somnolent days before Michael Brown was shot dead in Ferguson, Missouri, the US government admitted a disturbing failure. The top crime-data experts in Washington had determined that they could not properly count how many Americans die each year at the hands of police. So they stopped.

The move did not make headlines. Before Brown was killed, a major government effort to count people killed by police could be mothballed without anybody noticing. The program was never fully funded, and no one involved was accustomed to their technical daily work drawing a spotlight.

CHARGES DROPPED FOR MEN FACING LIFE IN PRISON FOR RAP LYRICS AND FB POSTS

All charges were dismissed by San Diego Superior Court Judge Louis R. Mahoian in the cases of Rapper Brandon Duncan, known by his stage name of “tiny Doo,” and Aaron Harvey. At the end of the day, they were free to go. That said, this case is not over for the other defendants, who were also charged with more serious offenses, though many of counts based on the 182.5 California Criminal Code were also dismissed.

Law Enforcement Freaks Out Over Apple & Google's Decision To Encrypt Phone Info By Default

Think of the children! And the children killed by terrorists! And just be afraid! Of course, this is the usual refrain any time there's more privacy added to products, or when laws are changed to better protect privacy. And it's almost always bogus. I'm reminded of all the fretting and worries by law enforcement types about how "free WiFi" and Tor would mean that criminals could get away with all sorts of stuff. Except, as we've seen, good old fashioned police/detective work can still let them track down criminals. The information on the phone is not the only evidence, and criminals almost always leave other trails of information.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The government is a bigger threat to us all than criminals or terrorists (meaning the ones not actually working for the government in the first place).

Judicial Committee Gives FBI The First OK It Needs To Hack Any Computer, Anywhere On The Planet

The FBI and DOJ are one step closer to having one of their "keeping up with the digital Joneses" requests granted. While the default phone encryption offered by Apple (and at some point in the future by Google) still remains free of law enforcement/intelligence "Golden Backdoors," the agencies are one step closer to being legally permitted to hack nearly any computer in the world.

Webmaster's Commentary:

US sets new record for denying, censoring government files

For the second consecutive year, the Obama administration more often than ever censored government files or outright denied access to them under the U.S. Freedom of Information Act, according to a new analysis of federal data by The Associated Press.

The government took longer to turn over files when it provided any, said more regularly that it couldn't find documents, and refused a record number of times to turn over files quickly that might be especially newsworthy.

It also acknowledged in nearly 1 in 3 cases that its initial decisions to withhold or censor records were improper under the law — but only when it was challenged.

What's Scarier: Terrorism, or Governments Blocking Websites in Its Name?

The French Interior Ministry on Monday ordered that five websites be blocked on the grounds that they promote or advocate terrorism. “I do not want to see sites that could lead people to take up arms on the Internet,” proclaimed Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve.

When the block functions properly, visitors to those banned sites, rather than accessing the content of the sites they chose to visit, will be automatically redirected to the Interior Ministry website. There, they will be greeted by a graphic of a large red hand, and text informing them that they were attempting to access a site that causes or promotes terrorism: “you are being redirected to this official website since your computer was about to connect with a page that provokes terrorist acts or condones terrorism publicly.”

Australian PM attacks “lifestyle choice” of poverty-stricken Aborigines

Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott’s contempt for poverty-stricken Aborigines living in outback areas was on open display last week when he was asked about plans by the Western Australian (WA) state government to completely shut down many communities.

“What we can’t do is endlessly subsidise lifestyle choices if these choices are not conducive to the kind of full participation in Australian society that everyone should have,” Abbott told the media in the WA gold-mining town of Kalgoorlie last Wednesday.

To claim that Aborigines are indulging in a “lifestyle choice,” akin to that of layers of the upper middle class moving to an idyllic rural setting, is grotesque. The conditions in remote Aboriginal communities, which lack jobs, proper housing and essential services, are frequently described as “third world” or even “fourth world.”

World’s greatest pyramid scheme: How banks plot to seize your property and life

The bank begins the pyramid scheme by taking your deposit (which you might think goes into the vault) and they loan most of it out. In fact, generally, with some variation, for every $1 dollar that you deposit, the bank will loan out approximately $10. In other words, the bank uses your deposits to loan out more (way more) than they have in reserves in order to make big profits. This is ‘Fractional Reserve Banking.’ The banks only keep a fraction of the overall money on hand.

Watertown Shootout Detailed In Boston Bombing Trial

***
Earlier that day, shortly after midnight, one officer spotted a carjacked Mercedes SUV on a quiet residential street. That set off a frenzied clash in which Dzhokhar and his older brother, Tamerlan, hurled explosives at police, including two pipe bombs and one pressure-cooker bomb
***
“All I could see was muzzle flashes,” he said. “I couldn’t count it. It was nonstop.”
***
He saw a wick and a lighter and then watched as an object flew through the air, landed in the street and exploded, he said, shaking him to his knees.
***
Tamerlan saw him and came charging up the street, firing at him
***
“The black SUV, it was right in my face,” he said. “I looked down, and I saw the front wheels were over Tamerlan.”

France at war with alternative medias

They were thousands of people marching all over France for Freedom of Speech, chanting JE SUIS CHARLIE, after the killing of Charlie Hebdo cartoonists. No surprise there. Arguing in France is a national sport, the French just love to discuss the pros and cons of such and such ideas and to defend their point of view in discussions that can last forever. However, some had doubts about the political exploitation of such a massive rally. It looks like they were right.

First, there was a political and mediatic outcry against whoever considered to be an anti-Charlie. That led to a string of arrests on the vague charge of “defending terrorism”.

But that was just the beginning. What we are seeing now, is the start of a smear campaign to denounce all “conspirationists” who dare to disagree with the official policy of the French government.

It started when president Hollande has assimilated what he calls “conspiracy theories“ to Nazism and called to prevent their dissemination on the Internet and social networks.

On Monday, the US reached its legal debt limit of $18 trillion -more than the country’s entire GDP. Lawmakers will either have to again lift it, or attempt to cap spending.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The question Americans should be asking is not whether to raise the debt ceiling, but rather why the Federal Government, which is authorized by the Constitution to create and issue interest-free money, instead borrows that money at interest from a privately owned central bank, thereby plunging future generations into debt slavery to that bank? THAT is the real question Americans should be asking!

ORWELLIAN NIGHTMARE UNLEASHED ON SCHOOLKIDS

Rather than merely asking for a right or wrong answer to a math, history or science question, the new assessment industry is capable of boring into a child’s attitudes, values, opinions and beliefs, all of which parents and privacy advocates say is no business of the government’s.

The pushback has led some state education systems to recommend a reduction in the amount of high-stakes testing in public schools.

But, parents beware, the sudden realization that maybe too much testing is going on is not going to lead to less data being collected. Quite the opposite.

Internet Trolls: Propaganda's Final Frontier

The urge to control public perception, to label the heroes and villains within and without, has remained a political constant throughout our history. And for centuries the dissemination of these ideas followed a similar, top-down trajectory of some authoritative source telling us who we are and what we believe in.

But the advent of the Internet has changed all that.

The Internet is a game-changer in two ways. First there’s the nature of the medium, which allows for an escape from the top-down model and the easy skepticism it breeds. ‘Truth’ no longer issues forth from the pulpit or Dan Rather or the latest issue of Pravda; it reveals itself in fragments throughout our interconnected lives. Second there’s the global reach of the Internet. Now governments can dialogue directly with the populations of rival countries, even if the people don’t necessarily know who it is they’re talking to.

Canada’s "AntiTerrorism" Bill C-51: A Legal Primer - Overly broad and unnecessary anti-terrorism reforms could criminalize free speech

Bill C-51,the Anti-Terrorism Act, 2015, would expand the powers of Canada’s spy agency, allow Canadians to be arrested on mere suspicion of future criminal activity, allow the Minister of Public Safety to add Canadians to a “no-fly list” with illusory rights of judicial review, and, perhaps most alarmingly, create a new speech-related criminal offence of “promoting” or “advocating” terrorism. These proposed laws are misguided, and many of them are likely also unconstitutional. The bill ought to be rejected as a whole. Repair is impossible.

Surveillance photos retrace footsteps of Boston Marathon bombers

BOSTON — Using high-tech surveillance videos and photos, prosecutors in the Boston Marathon trial on Monday played an FBI montage that showed the determined footsteps of the Tsarnaev brothers weaving through cheering crowds and igniting two pressure-cooker bombs in one of the worst terror attacks in U.S. history.

The images, most never seen before, were culled from tens of thousands of images the FBI collected after the April 2013 blasts. They soon zeroed in on more than 70 images showing Dzhokhar Tsarnaev and his older brother, Tamerlan, each wearing a dark jacket and black backpack, nonchalantly walking through the crowds.

Not Shocking: Jeb Bush sold patronage and favors to his top political donors

The AP analysis of Bush's 275,000 FOIA'ed emails show that "donations" to his campaign were really more like "purchases." Of course, this is what everyone suspects -- indeed, is certain of -- in the case of politicians. But it's one thing to see the money come in and the appointments flow out, and another to read the elected officials corresponding with their staffers saying, basically, "Hey, this guy gave me a lot of money, let's give him this plum appointment."

In its Desperation, Scandal-Riddled Spanish Government Criminalizes Solidarity Among Citizens

On Tuesday, March 10, 19 Spanish citizens were rounded up in dawn raids by the Madrid police. They are accused of committing a crime against the Spanish state. That crime? Trying to prevent, through passive, non-violent resistance, the forced eviction of a local resident. If found guilty, the suspects could face crippling fines.

Welcome to Rajoy’s Spain, where helping out your neighbor in his or her hour of need is now an administrative crime.

A Not-So-Silent Tragedy

In most countries that have experienced foreclosure epidemics, the eviction of neighbors and local residents is usually a quiet, if not silent, tragedy. Often people don’t realize that their neighbors have gone until hours, days or even weeks have passed. Some may never even notice.

CANADIAN PUBLISHER FACES JAIL FOR POLITICAL WRITINGS!

Hello. My name is Arthur Topham and I am the owner, publisher and editor of the online alternative News site RadicalPress.com which has been operating in Canada for the past sixteen years. Over the last eight years I have been involved in legal battles with the Canadian government, first the Canadian Human Rights Commission and now the federal legal system over alleged offences that purportedly violate Canada's "Hate Propaganda" laws (Sections 318 - 320) of the Canadian Criminal Code (CCC).

On May 16th, 2012 I was charged with a Sec. 319(2) ccc "Hate Propaganda" violation, arrested and jailed after which my home was entered illegally by the RCMP's thought police who then proceeded to steal all of my computers and electronic files. Since that date I have been involved in a protracted and onerous legal battle with the British Columbia provincial court system and now the British Columbia Supreme Court system.

Jay Leno is sick of government-mandated ethanol ruining his cars

As it turns out, ethanol is extremely corrosive to old car parts, and has been causing fires in vintage vehicles across the country. “As someone who collects old cars, and keeps them up religiously, I am now replacing fuel-pressure regulators every 12 to 18 months,” Leno writes.

He goes on to document the vast number of other problems he has thanks to the fuel—trouble starting cars, inhibited combustion, clogged fuel lines, blocked carburetor jets.

Leno notes that, in the end, this all amounts to propping up the corn industry:

US Senate committee advances cybersecurity bill in secret session

The Senate intelligence committee advanced a priority bill for the National Security Agency on Thursday afternoon, approving long-stalled cybersecurity legislation that civil libertarians consider the latest pathway for surveillance abuse.

The vote on the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act, 14 to 1, occurred in a secret session inside the Hart Senate office building. Democrat Ron Wyden was the dissenter, calling the measure “a surveillance bill by another name”.

C.I.A. Funds Found Their Way Into Qaeda Coffers: The United States has financed the very militants it is fighting as it spends hundreds of billions of dollars in Iraq

C.I.A. Cash Ended Up in Coffers of Al Qaeda: They first turned to a secret fund that the Central Intelligence Agency bankrolled with monthly cash deliveries to the presidential palace in Kabul, according to several Afghan officials involved in the episode. The Afghan government, they said, had already squirreled away about $1 million from that fund.

Within weeks, that money and $4 million more provided from other countries was handed over to Al Qaeda, replenishing its coffers after a relentless C.I.A. campaign of drone strikes in Pakistan had decimated the militant network’s upper ranks.

“God blessed us with a good amount of money this month,” Atiyah Abd al-Rahman, the group’s general manager, wrote in a letter to Osama bin Laden in June 2010, noting that the cash would be used for weapons and other operational needs.

Can't take my eyes off of you, neighbour

New Zealand spies programmed an internet mass surveillance system to intercept messages about senior public servants and a leading anti-corruption campaigner in the Solomon Islands, a top-secret document reveals.

For the first time, New Zealanders can learn about people their government has targeted as part of its role in Five Eyes, a surveillance alliance that includes New Zealand, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia.

The secret document, dated from January 2013, shows some of the names and other search terms that the Government Communications Security Bureau (GCSB) entered into the internet spying system XKeyscore. XKeyscore is run by the US National Security Agency and is used to analyse vast amounts of email, internet browsing sessions and online chats that are intercepted from some 150 different locations worldwide.

GCSB spied on inner circle of former Solomon Islands PM and anti-corruption campaigner

New Zealand spies targeted the emails and other electronic communications of the aides and confidants of the Prime Minister of the Solomon Islands, a top-secret document says.

The document (scroll to end of article to read it) shows the Government Communications Security Bureau programmed a powerful electronic surveillance system to scoop up documents from the Prime Minister's chief of staff, who has spoken of his outrage at the intrusion into Solomon Islands affairs.

Another on the target list was anti-corruption campaigner Benjamin Afuga, who has expressed concern over the identity of his confidential sources.

The Herald on Sunday today reveals the first insight into the GCSB's precise surveillance targets in the Pacific. The document was obtained by the investigative journalist Nicky Hager and The Intercept, a US news site specialising in stories about the intelligence community's surveillance.

Hillary’s Miss Communication

When it comes to the Clintons, you never know which scandals will stick and which will miraculously disappear because of the deal they made with Satan when selling their tattered souls. That being said, Hillary’s metastasizing email scandal seems to have the potential to derail her presidential aspirations – and perhaps incur criminal charges.

It seems that when Hillary became Secretary of State, she immediately set up a private email server in her home and conducted all of her official business (and quite likely monkey business) on that computer email system rather than the cyber-secure government system which is required by federal law.

After a two day silence on the subject, Hillary eventually tweeted that she really, truly wants America to see her emails, and State Department spokes-hipster Marie “Jobs For ISIS” Harf has confirmed that this will absolutely happen. You know, eventually.

The Omega Man Wealth Syndrome by NORMAN BALL

(The other alternative is that the Last Man Owning will be so consummately antithetical to Christian principles that, by definition, he will be the Antichrist. In that case, prepare for big fireworks.) Strivers will suffer identity crises as absolute wealth extinguishes the very benchmarks that once made wealth meaningful. CIA director: Social media ‘greatly amplifies’ terror threat

CIA Director John Brennan said Friday that changing technology and social media websites have “greatly amplified” the security threats facing the free world.

Mr. Brennan told the Council on Foreign Relations in New York that the Islamic State group, for example, uses new technologies to “coordinate operations, attract new recruits, disseminate propaganda, and inspire sympathizers across the globe to act in their name,” Reuters reported.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Sorry, John Brennan, but does the United States Government not do the same?!?!?

And sir, there are 4 words in American English which can never be used henceforward with a straight face: they are "truth" and "the US Government"

And Mr. Brennan, there is a question which must be honestly asked and answered, and that is, how the heck do people become radicalized in the first place?!?

IS it because their governments are transparent; that there is a firm foundation of education and literacy, great health care, and a booming economy which all but guarantees them jobs upon reaching their young adult status?

Or, do people become radicalized because their life experience with their government is the polar opposite of what I have just described?!?

Let's take a look at the failed state of Yemen, shall we?!? The government of that country is judged to be one of the most corrupt on the planet; the economy is lousy; there is no real tradition of literacy and 21st century understanding, except for the very wealthy and the economy is in shambles.

And yet, over the last 30 years, this is the government the US government has propped up, financially and militarily. First, the Saleh government, then the Al-Hadi government was enabled up by the US.

Do you remember how many people were on the ballot when Al-Hadi ran for President of Yemen?!? Only one: Al-Hadi. No other candidate was on the ballot.

For well over 30 years, the people of Yemen were left in a truly losing situation; and ultimately overthrew their dictator in favor of radicals, something which seemed to throw those in DC into a real frenzy.

And to say that those in power in DC "didn't see it coming" indicates that every one in Sodom on the Potomac was simultaneously drunk, blind, and asleep.

Can you, for one moment, sir, blame the Yemenite people for having become radicalized to the point where they threw out the old guard, and closed down the Parliament?!?

The late President Kennedy said it best: "when peaceful revolution is impossible, violent revolution is inevitable."

Mr. Brennan just such a slow-boil situation as we have just witnessed in Yemen is about to take place in Bahrain, and potentially even Saudi Arabia; it is time for this American government to wake up and smell the burning smell of revolution all around them, and use US aid to encourage those two-bit despots we keep place because they are "our thugs" to give their people the better lives and real governmental representation they deserve.

The US government ignores these democratic impulses at its peril.

The troops and vehicles involved will be moving from training exercises conducted as part of Operation Atlantic Resolve in Estonia, Lithuania and Poland, the report said. They'll move through Latvia and the Czech Republic as they make their way to Vilseck, Germany, about a 40 miles drive from the Czech border.

CIA DIRECTOR DESCRIBES HOW THE U.S. OUTSOURCES TERROR INTERROGATIONS

In rare remarks about a sensitive issue, the director of the CIA confirmed today that the U.S. government works with foreign intelligence agencies to capture and jointly interrogate suspected terrorists.

“There are places throughout the world where CIA has worked with other intelligence services and has been able to bring people into custody and engage in the debriefings of these individuals…through our liaison partners, and sometimes there are joint debriefings that take place as well,” said John Brennan, the CIA director, speaking at the Council on Foreign Relations in New York.

Brennan’s remarks confirm what journalists have long reported: that the Obama administration sometimes helps other countries do the dirty work of snatching and interrogating terror suspects–keeping the U.S. at arm’s length from operations that are ethically and legally dubious.

Webmaster's Commentary:

"....ethically and legally dubious.." ?!?!?!?

HOW ABOUT FLIPPING MORALLY ABHORRENT?!?

And folks, whenever the US tortures, or outsources torture, the following things happen:

1. The world understands that all of those values this country allegedly hold dear (human rights, the right to due process, and even the right to life) mean absoflippinglutely NOTHING to those in power.

2. When the US tortures, or outsources torture, it gives other governments which don't like us much carte blanche to torture American civilians and military personnel.

Those of you with friends or family serving, please chew on that last one for a while.

BP signs $12 billion energy deal in Egypt

SHARM EL-SHEIKH, Egypt: British oil company BP finalized on Saturday a $12 billion deal with Egypt to develop 5 trillion cubic feet of gas resources and 55 million barrels of condensates in the West Nile Delta.

The supply deal, signed at an international investment conference in the Sharm El-Sheikh resort, will help Egypt as it tackles its worst energy crisis in decades.

Rising energy consumption and decreasing production have turned it from a net energy exporter to a net importer in the last few years and caused persistent blackouts.

Caligula’s Horse By Eric Margolis

snip: Adelson, who has reportedly called for nuking Iran, is also Bibi Netanyahu’s primary political and financial sponsor. So Adelson can say he owns the US Congress and Israel. Some Israelis, who will vote next week in a very tight election, are uneasy that Netanyahu is “owned” by the American gambling mogul Adelson. Is this the Zionist dream of a state built on morality, social fairness, and honesty?

Democrats are now largely owned by Israeli-American billionaire Haim Saban who calls himself somewhere to the right of the late Ariel Sharon. Saban, a media mogul, recently gave $5-10 million to the Clinton Library and is Hillary’s principal backer.

Bibi’s visit to Congress was clearly intended as pre-election political grandstanding. Marketing fear of Islam, Iran, ISIS, Hezbollah, Syria, al-Shebab and Boko Haram are now the stock in trade for embattled politicians in Israel, Canada, Australia and France.

Peak Pathetic – Chinese Authorities Claim Control Over the Dalai Lama’s Reincarnation Process

The relative lack of political and internet freedom in China is well known, as is the egregious treatment of the Tibetan people. So much so that the government is panicking at recent statements by the Dalai Lama that he may not be reincarnated. This screws up the government’s plan to name the next Dalai Lama and use him as a puppet stooge for the regime. Truly embarrassing.
