My World View

To begin with I have been a fisherman/folksinger.. As a commercial fisherman since 1972, I have longlined, done crab pots, purse seined, trawled, trolled for salmon, dove for sea urchins, geoduck clams, seacucumbers. I have fished from Santa Catalina Ca. to Adak Ak.

As a folksinger.. I played at Altamont.. and got 30 points on the Gong Show for doing Rod Stewart's 'Hot Legs'.. Here is my youtube video singing The Dogshit Blues

evidence seems to indicate that: the poet in johanna faust with/in these pages is represented in an inverse proportion to perhaps conclusions to which such as yourself may arrive were she (presented) with/out...

(nonetheless?)(therefore?) words to the effect of: "um, hi, & thanks:"

•for the heads up in re music link (hopefully fixed - or i'll fix it again, its that good a song IMHO)

•for breaking (insofar as wrh) the whole ukrainian thing -- as i recall -- the which then led to various changes in my life, not all of which i quote like unquote mind you, but info is *always* preferable to denial or, worse, sitting-duck-itude. (pause) wait -- hold on a sec... (checks scrawled notes, planner; then leans over, whispers target so close yet oddly invisible in this open mental landscape): 'did i sign anything saying i knew how to write today? no? how about basic grammar? nothing? excellent.' "ok, am back... uh, where were.. oh yes. so you're cool," (no doubt you know already) "but, uh, i thought i'd tell you anyway."

keep up the Great Work, &c.

Richard
I appreciate you taking the time to help me get some of my articles on the main page of this website. I will start posting as many articles as I can each day. It is actually very simple and only takes about a minute for each article.

I'm going to attempt to post a video which I have not done this.

thanks again. The number of unique visitors to my website as the result of posting one article several days ago was that my usual number about 125 jumped to about 600.

Keep up the good work.

Oh.. The religious people call this entity Satan.. But it is not an earthly imagined creature like the Devil.. It is a dimensional shifting race of creatures that covet our Earth..

Thanks earlybird

I haven't read it.. Thanks for pointing it out.. I thought I was alone in thinking thoughts like those in the comment.. I am conceited enough to think that I have had an original thought.. But Nooo.. Somebody has already had that thought.. I am not alone... The thought sounds so crazy, and yet it must be what is happening... If one looks at the very hidden evidence.

earlybird.. I will write you a message.. When I next see your link.

Hey

cabinboy

Thanx for the encouragement -- if I find anything good I'll put it up. The irony is I spend so much time on WRH anymore that I only get to my other favorite news sources late in the game, and then find out that I've already read their best stuff.... on WRH! You guys are really on top of it.

Forked Tongue

you said: One of these years I'll try doing it. I imagine it is something like stage fright to write your first original piece.. Once you do it it becomes easier, the more you do it the better you get at doing it.

Damn.. Writing was always my worst subject in school.

Not one to be the bearer of bad news, but I have always loved writing and English was such a breeze that it was akin to walking and talking for me. Math on the other hand drove me to fits as I flunked algebra and luckily the school systems then allowed diplomas with general math acceptance. So when you state writing, and if my guess is correct English was your hardest subject in school, I liken it to me trying to learn trig and this would be an example of futility. But in no way do I say don't try, but just be warned that even an A English student as myself gets blocked.

Posting Foreign Correspondent

Stewart Ogilby

Hi,

I see you submit Eric Margolis' weekly column to WRH. I introduced Eric to the web in 1995 and I proof-read his column every Monday and publish it online at http://bigeye.com/foreignc.htm

Would you consider grabbing Foreign Correspondent from BigEye for WRH? Of course, I am a big fan of Lew Rockwell but he has a staff and I run a one-man operation and would appreciate the exposure of Bigeye.com to WRH viewers.

Cheers,

Stewart

If you can get me a newsletter on Eric Margolis' weekly column.. allowing me a leg up in time to beat Lew Rockwell with a faster source.. I will do it.. Eric Margolis has been one of my favorite writers since 1995.

Thanks

I just Noticed your comment about how to get articles posted. Does the editor of this website of which I am a member decide which articles get on the home page?

Any more input you can give me as to how to get my articles on the home page of the website would be greatly appreciated.

Globalization Is Killing The Globe: Return to Local Economies

Globalization is killing Europe, just as it's already wiped out much of the American middle class.

--------------------------------------------------------

The transnational corporations benefiting from globalization are also, in most cases, the transnational corporations that own our media, so even the word globalization is rarely heard in reports on economic crises around the world.

But globalization is the villain here, and one that needs to be taken in hand and brought under control quickly if we don't want to see virtually the nations of the world end up subservient to corporate control, a new form of an ancient economic system known as feudalism.

The Myth of the Good War: America in World War II

The bombing of Dresden had little or nothing to do with the war against Nazi Germany: it was an American British message for Stalin, a message that cost the lives of tens of thousands of people. Later that same year, two more similarly coded yet not very subtle messages would follow, involving even more victims, but this time Japanese cities were targeted, and the idea was to direct Stalin’s attention to the lethality of America’s terrible new weapon, the atomic bomb.[27] Dresden had little or nothing to do with the war against Nazi Germany; it had much, if not everything, to do with a new conflict in which the enemy was to be the Soviet Union. In the horrible heat of the infernos of Dresden, Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the Cold War was born.

Descent Into Barbarism: The US and NATO Wage War on the World

But history is not inevitable. We are not necessarily programmed to repeat its horrors. A combination of global communications among citizens and political and social consciousness may be enough to prevent a military conflagration and overthrow the misrule of the oligarchy. What is needed is a) a widening of the recognition that capitalism as a system of social production is finished; and b) the case has to be confidently made that an alternative is very possible. That alternative is socialism (the subject of a further article). To those who remain skeptical, they should bear in mind the stark choice that Rosa Luxemberg foresaw for humanity: that is, socialism or barbarism. And we already have the latter.

Liberals Get a War President of Their Very Own

Suddenly and surprisingly, we have a Bush-like Obama Doctrine. To the applause of liberal hawks and formerly critical neocons, the president declared in his Nobel Peace Prize speech that the U.S. will continue to wage war—though naturally, only “just” war—anywhere and against anyone it chooses in a never-ending struggle against the forces of evil. His antiwar supporters can take seats on the sidelines. It’s all reminiscent of John F. Kennedy and the prescient George Ball, and afterward Ball and Lyndon Johnson. In the early ’60s, JFK—reluctantly, we are told by his admirers—decided to send 16,000 “trainers” to Vietnam to teach the South Vietnamese how to play soldier and to stop the Communists from sweeping over Southeast Asia.

The Terror-Industrial Complex

The conviction of the Pakistani neuroscientist Aafia Siddiqui in New York last week of trying to kill American military officers and FBI agents illustrates that the greatest danger to our security comes not from al-Qaida but the thousands of shadowy mercenaries, kidnappers, killers and torturers our government employs around the globe.

LED ZEPPELIN and Clockwork Orange; VIETNAM WAR and Bloody Sunday

Christopher Knowles wrote: "1969 was the year the utopian dreams of the 60’s Generation came crashing down to Earth....

"A new band called Led Zeppelin, sporting a harsh new sound and dark, occultic worldview crashed the Peace and Love party setting the stage for a parade of quasi-satanic imitators."

In 1971 the film Clockwork Orange came to our cinemas.

Were the fascists in the security services trying to toughen people up?

Were musicians and film makers being used to control our minds?

Time for an American Intifada?

A beguiling combination of Hollywood fiction, manipulated beliefs and outright lies remain at the core of this entangled alliance and the U.S.-Israeli "special relationship." The deceit deployed to advance the hegemonic goals of the Zionist project remains obscured by an undisclosed media bias reinforced by a widespread pro-Israeli influence in popular culture. As with the 1960 film, the ongoing manipulation of thought and emotion lies at the core of this duplicity a half-century later.

"al Qaeda Definitely Behind Crippling Cyber Attack"

Washington--Both the Pentagon and the CIA say that 'al Qaeda' was definitely behind the cyber attack that hit the country's internet backbone, severely damaging sensitive equipment and comprising our nation's security.

"This certainly has the fingerprints of somebody like Bin Laden," stated Rita Katz of SITE, a privately run internet search company that picks up sensitive plans on future terrorist attacks from Internet chat rooms.

Satire?

I thought of killing myself, says climate scandal professor Phil Jones

THE scientist at the centre of the “climategate” email scandal has revealed that he was so traumatised by the global backlash against him that he contemplated suicide.

Professor Phil Jones said in an exclusive interview with The Sunday Times that he had thought about killing himself “several times”. He acknowledged similarities to Dr David Kelly, the scientist who committed suicide after being exposed as the source for a BBC report that alleged the government had “sexed up” evidence to justify the invasion of Iraq.

The Census and Despotism

“There went out a decree from Caesar Augustus,” says St. Luke on why Mary and Joseph found themselves in Bethlehem, “that all the world should be taxed.” Joseph had to go to his own city because the tyrannical Roman government was conducting a census. But the information may have been used for more than just taxation. The Roman government’s local ruler later decided he wanted to find the Christ child and kill Him.

China’s hawks demand cold war on the US

MORE than half of Chinese people questioned in a poll believe China and America are heading for a new “cold war”.

The finding came after battles over Taiwan, Tibet, trade, climate change, internet freedom and human rights which have poisoned relations in the three months since President Barack Obama made a fruitless visit to Beijing.

According to diplomatic sources, a rancorous postmortem examination is under way inside the US government, led by officials who think the president was badly advised and was made to appear weak.

In China’s eyes, the American response — which includes a pledge by Obama to get tougher on trade — is a reaction against its rising power.

The US Government has Lost its Reason for Being

The way I see it, we’ve pretty much lost our government, and just voting in new politicians isn’t going to fix anything (we just demonstrated that!). Our best hope then is a popular groundswell for a new Constitutional Convention. Let’s roll the dice and try over, now that we’ve seen how our government can be stolen.

Military high court upholds Abu Ghraib convictions

The US military's highest court has upheld convictions of two soldiers for abusing Abu Ghraib detainees in Iraq.

The US Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces in Washington has confirmed the conviction of former Army officers Sabrina Harman and Michael Smith. Harman had helped place a hooded detainee atop a box with wires in his hands.

The detainee was told he would be electrocuted if he fell off the box.

The court found no errors by the judge who presided over the court-martial of former Sgt. Michael Smith, an Army dog handler.

Smith, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, was convicted of offenses that included letting his Belgian shepherd bark and lunge at prisoners for his own amusement.

Bush, Cheney and the Great Escape

Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rove, Perle, Feith, Wolfowitz, Rice, and a dozen other members of the Bush administration, including Yoo and Bybee, are directly responsible for this carnage. They lied through their teeth and broke any number of laws to see it done. They are guilty of much more than the war crimes they committed in both Iraq and the United States. They are guilty of bankrupting this nation with two wars begun on false pretenses and perpetuated to enrich the few, while further cementing the stranglehold "defense spending" has on our growth as a civilized nation.

Why We Seek War?

One reason the U.S. is continuously at war is that its leaders “are never held to any criminal responsibility for their actions,” a law school dean writes.

The U.S. hanged World War II German and Japanese war criminals “but no American leaders are held to criminal responsibility by America, no matter how dastardly their conduct,” writes Lawrence Velvel, dean of the Massachusetts School of Law at Andover

Next in Line for a Bailout: Social Security

Don't look now. But even as the bank bailout is winding down, another huge bailout is starting, this time for the Social Security system.

A report from the Congressional Budget Office shows that for the first time in 25 years, Social Security is taking in less in taxes than it is spending on benefits.

Instead of helping to finance the rest of the government, as it has done for decades, our nation's biggest social program needs help from the Treasury to keep benefit checks from bouncing -- in other words, a taxpayer bailout.

The Sword and the Shield: Surround Russia and China with Mobile "Missile Defense" Systems

The latest news is that Romania will be hosting the U.S. Army's ground-based "missile defense" systems. Russia is not pleased with these developments.

These same Army Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) systems are going to be deployed in Taiwan as the U.S. continues its military encirclement of China. U.S. PAC-3 systems have already been deployed in Japan and South Korea.
