Cern Large Hadron Collider restarts after 14 months

The Large Hadron Collider experiment has re-started after a 14-month hiatus while the machine was being repaired.

Engineers have made two stable proton beams circulate in opposite directions around the machine, which is in a tunnel beneath the French-Swiss border.

The team may try to increase the £6bn ($10bn) collider's energy to record-breaking levels this weekend.

Alleged CRU Emails - Searchable

On 20 November 2009, emails and other documents, apparently originating from with the Climate Research Unit (CRU) at the University of East Anglia.

If real, these emails contain some quite surprising and even disappointing insights into what has been happening within the climate change scientific establishment. Worryingly this same group of scientists are very influential in terms of economic and social policy formation around the subject of climate change.

As these emails are already in the public domain, I think it is important that people are able to look through them and judge for themselves. Until I am told otherwise I have no reason to think the text found on this site is true or false. It is here just as a curiosity!

So the 1079 emails and 72 documents seem indeed evidence of a scandal involving most of the most prominent scientists pushing the man-made warming theory - a scandal that is one of the greatest in modern science. I’ve been adding some of the most astonishing in updates below - emails suggesting conspiracy, collusion in exaggerating warming data, possibly illegal destruction of embarrassing information, organised resistance to disclosure, manipulation of data, private admissions of flaws in their public claims and much more. If it is as it now seems, never again will “peer review” be used to shout down sceptics.

It is almost exactly a year since Parliament all but unanimously approved by far the most expensive piece of legislation ever put before it. The Climate Change Act, according to our Climate Change Secretary, Ed Miliband, is due to cost us all £404bn, or £18bn every year until 2050, to reduce our carbon emissions by well over 80 per cent. Just what this will mean in practice we have lately been hearing from that galaxy of quangocrats who have clustered round the new Act like wasps round a honeypot.

In mid-August the University of East Anglia's Climate Research Unit (CRU) disclosed that it had destroyed the raw data for its global surface temperature data set because of an alleged lack of storage space. The CRU data have been the basis for several of the major international studies that claim we face a global warming crisis. CRU's destruction of data, however, severely undercuts the credibility of those studies.

Tamiflu-resistant strain of swine flu spreading

Doctors in Wales have discovered a Tamiflu-resistant strain of swine flu that has been spreading from patient to patient in a Cardiff hospital.

The emergence of an easily transmissible, resistant strain is a worrying development for health officials and appears to be the first documented case in Europe.

Tip: Forget Tamiflu, try vitamin D.

Tamiflu site owners 'steal credit card data'

Credit card fraudsters are exploiting the recent surge in customer demand for Tamiflu, it has been claimed.

New analysis from Sophos, an internet security specialist, suggests that panic-buying of the drug in the wake of the swine flu outbreak has led to fake websites being set up by Russian criminals.

Unwitting customers enter their credit card details in order to pay for the drugs.

However, this information can then be used to steal money from the victim's account or to take out other financial products in their name.

Fox News Poll: Worries About Safety of Swine Flu Vaccine Persist

The H1N1 flu vaccine has been rolling out more slowly than many public health officials had hoped. But a recent Fox News poll suggests that even when the vaccine becomes more widely available, concern over its safety may prevent many at-risk Americans from getting vaccinated.

Nearly equal numbers are more afraid of the side effects from the swine flu vaccine as are afraid of getting the flu itself (35 percent vaccine compared to 37 percent flu). Americans under age 35, who are more likely to catch and suffer from the effects of the swine flu, are more worried about the vaccine side effects compared to older adults (43-32 percent).

Many Americans also feel the testing of the swine flu vaccine was done too quickly so its safety is uncertain (40 percent).

Procter & Gamble recalls 120,000 Vicks nasal sprays

Procter & Gamble has announced it is recalling 120,000 bottles of Vicks Sinex nasal spray after small traces of bacteria were found in the product.

Bottles shipped to the US, the UK and Germany are being recalled after traces of the B. cepacia bacteria were found at a German plant in Gross Gerau.

The firm said no illnesses had been reported, but the bacteria can affect people with lung problems.

It added that consumers who have the medication should no longer use it.

Philip Morris hit with record 300 million dollar fine

A Florida jury ordered tobacco giant Philip Morris Thursday to pay $300 million in damages to a former smoker -- the largest fine ever in such a case. Ex-smoker Cindy Naugle suffers from severe emphysema. Naugle’s attorney Robert Kelley said: "Philip Morris refused to accept any responsibility for her emphysema, even though she was an addicted customer for 25 years." Murray Garnick, a Philip Morris lawyer said: "We believe that the punitive damages award is grossly excessive and a clear violation of constitutional and state law."

there might be 2 such stories and the one i was thinking of i could not find so
when reading please note
1) there is NOTHING ever recoded in this part of space, there was even a picture of how empty the space was where the explosion happened! the picture in this story space dose not look SO empty
2) they admitted in the past they have no idea what exploded, and no leading theories fitted the data for the explosion! pity i can not find that original story! because this one claims they know what is was!

Imagine the reaction if investment companies provided only rosy stock and economic data to prospective investors; manufacturers withheld chemical spill statistics from government regulators; or medical device and pharmaceutical companies doctored data on patients injured by their products.

Media frenzies, congressional hearings, regulatory investigations, fines and jail sentences would come faster than you can say Henry Waxman. If those same standards were applied to global warming alarmists, many of them would be fined, dismissed and imprisoned, sanity might prevail, and the House-Senate cap-and-tax freight train would come to a screeching halt.

Hacked: Sensitive Documents Lifted from Hadley Climate Center

Officials at Hadley, a leading global-warming research center, have apparently confirmed to an Australian publication that the documents are genuine.

The whole affair has much of the blogosphere alight. Blogs skeptical of man-made global warming see blood in the water.

Some of the old emails from scientists made public apparently make references to things like “hid[ing] the decline,” referring to global temperature series and different ways to slice and dice climate data.

The University of East Anglia's Hadley Climatic Research Centre appears to have suffered a security breach earlier today, when an unknown hacker apparently downloaded 1079 e-mails and 72 documents of various types and published them to an anonymous FTP server. These files appear to contain highly sensitive information that, if genuine, could prove extremely embarrassing to the authors of the e-mails involved. Those authors include some of the most celebrated names among proponents of the theory of anthropogenic global warming (AGW).

Unconfirmed reports of large numbers of deaths from the vaccine in the Ukraine

Unconfirmed reports are coming in that thousands of people in what appears to be a rural area under quarantine in the western Ukraine have been killed by vaccines.

A Ukrainian woman who crossed into neighbouring Poland told people there that she had driven into the Ukraine to meet a friend but was stopped about 60 km from the border and told that parts of the Western Ukraine were closed at a distance of about 100 kilometers from the border with Poland.

These people allegedly told her that there were thousands of dead people lying on the streets inside those closed off areas.

Also, there are mass graves filled with bodies covered with lime.

Aspirin kills 400% more people than H1N1 swine flu

This number is supposed to sound big and scary, motivating millions of people to go out and pay good money to be injected with untested, unproven H1N1 vaccines.
