"They're out to get us!" On trust, distrust, and organizing for change

People no longer trust Congress, the President, the courts, the media, corporations, political parties, and other institutions of society. People even doubt science and medicine.

Webmaster's Commentary:

We don't doubt science and medicine, we doubt the people exploiting it for profit.

Like the Global Warming Cult.

Saudi Arabia not to allow use of its airspace against Iran

Jerusalem: Saudi Arabia has refuted the report that the Israeli and British intelligence heads met with its officials, who agreed to allow the Jewish state to use their airspace to attack Iranian nuclear facilities.

British newspaper Sunday Express had reported that Saudi officials had recently met British Intelligence chief and Israel's Mossad chief Meir Dagan in London and given consent to Israeli Air Force jets for using their airspace in such an event.

Saudis give nod to Israeli raid on Iran

The head of Mossad, Israel’s overseas intelligence service, has assured Benjamin Netanyahu, its prime minister, that Saudi Arabia would turn a blind eye to Israeli jets flying over the kingdom during any future raid on Iran’s nuclear sites.

Earlier this year Meir Dagan, Mossad’s director since 2002, held secret talks with Saudi officials to discuss the possibility.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Odd how we hear this from Israel, rather than directly from Saudi Arabia.
Israel's Prime Minister is already denying the report.

I think we are seeing a good old-fashioned fake-out.

First, Turkey starts talking tough about Israel, including pushing the war crimes in Gaza and Israel's nuclear arsenal at the UN. This seems odd in light of Sibel Edmonds' testimony that Israeli and Turkish intelligence agencies are working together

Then, Brezinsk starts talking about how the US should shoot down any Israeli aircraft crossing Iraq to attack Iran.

Now we have this possibly bogus claim that Saudi Arabia will allow Israel overflights to attack Iran, which also seems odd because Saudi Arabia has to know that after Iran falls, Israel's cross-hairs will likely land on them!

So what I think is going on is an attempt to bluff Iran into thinking the air attack will come from the direction of Saudi Arabia, to get them focusing their air defenses in the wrong place.

Core of Corruption (Google Video)

Core of Corruption is a video documentary documenting the many indications that the alleged Saudi terrorists seemed to be under some type of security service protection while in the USA. Not only did they get special help to get the Visas to get into the US (a consular official who protested to his superiors that these people were terrorist and should not get Visas was ignored), once they were here every time there was a chance they could have been caught circumstances worked out to the hijackers' advantage as the investigators were ordered off the case, not to share their information with other relevant agencies etc. and they were allowed to proceed with their plans apparently unimpeded.

Also covers the role of the Israeli agents apparently shadowing the hijackers, the dancing Israelis on 9/11 celebrating the collapse of the towers, the attack forewarning to the employees of Odigo the Israeli messaging company, the use of wiretapping equipment in US phone systems which was provided to the FBI by an Israeli high-tech company likely with Mossad connections. The Israeli's in the white vans on 9/11 dressed as Arabs. Reports of explosions in the news reports in the immediate aftermath of the 9/11 WTC attacks. - And much more

S Arabia urges US to withhold Israel aid

“The United States has the means to persuade the Israelis to work for a peaceful settlement,” Prince Saud al-Faisal, the foreign minister, said in an interview with Newsweek, a US magazine. “It needs to tell them that if it is going to continue to help them, they must be reasonable and make reasonable concessions.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

The Saudis do not understand the "Special Relationship" between Israel and the US, which is that of the master and the slave.

The Charm Offensive

his week, Team Obama took their dog and pony show on the road. Treasury Secretary Geithner went to China, Fed Chairman Bernanke to Capitol Hill, and the President himself began a Mideast tour in Saudi Arabia. This full-court press is not coincidental, and comes just as the federal government has begun unloading trillions of dollars in new Treasury obligations. The coordinated charm offensive is meant to assure the world-at-large that the United States can repay these obligations without destroying the dollar.

The algebra of peace

The significance of your visit to Saudi Arabia shall not be lost upon anyone. King Abdullah has worked tirelessly for peace, and he has received the full support of 22 Arab countries for the peace plan he presented at the Arab summit in Beirut in 2002. The Arab Peace Initiative, offering Israel fully normalized relations with all Arab countries in exchange for withdrawal from territories occupied in 1967, has been endorsed by the United States and the international community as a key gateway on the road to peace.

Dear President Obama

WELCOME to Saudi Arabia, the country that has kept its friendship with the United States of America over the decades since that historic meeting between President Franklin D. Roosevelt and the founder of modern Saudi Arabia, King Abdul Aziz Al-Saud, spanning over 12 American presidents and four Saudi kings.

Welcome to an Arab world full of hope in your presidency; and welcome to the world of Islam where hearts and minds expect a better understanding of “them” by the type of person you are, Mr. President.

A Saudi Arabian judge declared this weekend that husbands can slap their wives if they spend too much money.

The Death of Rendition Victim Ibn al-Shaykh al-Libi

From Libya comes news of the death of Ibn al-Shaykh al-Libi, a former “ghost prisoner” of the United States, whose false confession about a connection between al-Qaeda and Saddam Hussein — extracted under torture in Egypt — was used to justify the invasion of Iraq. The news will only add to the woes of the senior Bush administration officials who conceived the program of “extraordinary rendition” and torture within days of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, and then, in a netherworld of secret memoranda, sought legal justification for their actions.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So, Ibn al-Shaykh al-Libi was tortured into "confessing" what Bush needed to sell a war, and is now conveniently dead.

That Bow

Obama's been globe-trotting and claiming his youthful experience in a Muslim land has given him a greater understanding of Islam. Clearly, this is not true as it is STRICTLY forbidden to bow to anyone (or thing) but God in Islam. To top that off, he bowed to perhaps the least respected leader in the eyes of most Muslims/Arabs.

Former FBI chief defends flow of money to Saudi ambassador

Former FBI Director Louis J. Freeh says $2 billion that flowed from a British arms manufacturer to U.S. bank accounts controlled by Prince Bandar bin Sultan, then Saudi ambassador to the U.S., was not a bribe, but was instead part of a complex barter involving the exchange of Saudi oil for British fighter jets.

Webmaster's Commentary:

You've gotta love Louis Freeh; just as with his stint as FBI director, the man will sell anything he's paid to sell- and I mean, anything.

Saudi Arabia pledges $1 billion to rebuild Gaza

The Saudi king says his country will donate $1 billion to help rebuild the Gaza Strip after Israel's devastating three-week offensive in the Palestinian territory.

King Abdullah criticizes Israel for using excessive force in Gaza and says "one drop of Palestinian blood" is more valuable than all the money in the world.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Saudis reject oil embargo on Israel

OPEC's top producer says oil-producing states in the Middle East will not respond to Iran's call to halt crude supplies to Israeli supporters.

"The oil producers who need their income ... are not going to do that," Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal said at a Wednesday news conference.

"The use of oil, especially at this time, is an idea that is at least past its worth," he said. "The important thing, oil is not a weapon. You can't reverse a conflict by using oil."

Kingdom denounces silence — Palestinian factions asked to unite

Saudi Arabia yesterday denounced the silence of the international community over the ferocious Israeli war on unarmed Palestinians in Gaza and the collective punishment inflicted on the inhabitants of the territory.

“The international stand of silence and defeatism in dealing with Israeli atrocities (in Gaza) has no parallel,” said a statement issued by the Council of ministers.

The Cabinet said the Israeli military attack that has killed and injured hundreds of innocent people and destroyed vital infrastructure, violated humanitarian principles as well as international law and agreements.

The Cabinet also disproved the Israeli claim that its aggression against Gaza was for self-defense against Hamas rocket fire, saying that claim has ignored the Jewish state’s history of occupation of Palestinian land, its policy of economic blockade on its people and its negative response to Arab peace initiatives.

Deprogramming Jihadists

In Saudi Arabia, psychological disorders are often understood as the results of a person finding himself somehow outside the traditional circle of family and community. Most of the counseling that the inmates receive is focused on helping them to develop more healthful family relationships. “We use Western psychiatric techniques together with Islamic techniques,” T. M. Otayan, the center’s staff psychologist, says, referring to the intensive religion classes.

Webmaster's Commentary:

If this Saudi experiment is successful, it may be that the reason it is successful is that it puts the heaviest weight on rehabilitation and not on punishment.

It will be interesting to follow the statistics on recidivism here, once these men are reintegrated into society.

US Targets Peacemakers While Pakistan Battles American-Taliban

Is it really necessary that we let Bush and Cheney destroy another innocent country before they pretend to leave the stage after Nov. 4? Does this Nation, which fancies itself as a great defender of freedom and democracy, intend to allow them do to our ally Pakistan what they have done to Iraq and Afghanistan? If we do not feel extreme shame for what is being done in our names there then perhaps it is true that we are something less than human, merely thinking cattle.
