THOUGHT FOR THE DAY!

" We have come to accomodate ourselves to a model of society that has to be unjust, with inherent inequalities, where a great percentage of the population has to be in misery, has to die of hunger, has to live with their basic needs unsatisfied. This is the neo-liberal mentality and every day it seems more normal."-- Father Javier Giraldo, Colombia

Leader: Iran not seeing US-promised changes

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution says the US approach toward Iran has been in contradiction with the slogan of bringing 'change' to its policy.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran decided from the very beginning not to prejudge and to instead consider the slogan of 'change'. But what we have witnessed in practice during this period of time has been in contradiction with the remarks that have been made,” Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei told Iranian students on Tuesday.

The Leader added that the US was seeking its own predetermined results from the talks.

Contrary to popular belief, this statement was never made, as the following article will prove.

Obama Is a Pawn of the New World Order

It is obvious from Obama's appointments to positions regarding foreign relations that part of the deal with the "powers that be" is that he continue to promote the "fake war against terror", the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan in order to secure the oil and natural gas resources and the continued stealing of the remaining resources of this country by the Federal Reserve Bank.

Media Lies And The War Drive Against Iran

In 2001, the London Observer published a series of reports claiming an “Iraqi connection” to al-Qaeda, even describing the base in Iraq where the training of terrorists took place and a facility where anthrax was being made as a weapon of mass destruction.

It was all false.

Supplied by US intelligence and Iraqi exiles, planted stories in the British and US media helped then-US president George Bush and then-British prime minister Tony Blair launch an illegal invasion that has caused, according to the most recent study, 1.3 million deaths.

Iran wants review of nuclear fuel deal

Iran said on Monday it wants a review of the UN-brokered nuclear fuel deal, insisting it prefers to purchase the supplies directly from any world producer.

"We are ready to buy the fuel under the supervision of the agency from any producer as we bought this type of fuel from Argentina around 20 years ago with the cooperation of the agency," said Ali Asghar Soltanieh, Tehran's envoy to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Webmaster's Commentary:

Iran is not rejecting the IAEA proposal; it is simply asking for time to develop a counter proposal.

Iran has indicated that it may agree to send only “part” of its stockpile in several shipments. Should the talks fail to help Iran obtain the fuel from abroad, Iran has warned that it will enrich uranium to the higher level needed to power the research reactor itself domestically.

“Given the negative record of Western powers, the Iranian government … looks at the talks with no trust. But realities dictate to them to interact with the Iranian nation,” he said according to an Iranian government site. Ahmadinejad added that Iran “stands powerfully while its enemies are like a mosquito”.

“Juniper Cobra Drill to Help US Design Missile Shield”

Some 2,000 US and Israeli military personnel will wrap up maneuvers this week during which they are testing five different missile defense systems against a probable ballistic missile attack, and creating the infrastructure that would be necessary in the event that the Obama administration decides to deploy US systems ion occupied territories in the event of a conflict.

The current drill was relevant for a European missile shield, officials said, since it provided the Americans with experience in how to work together on missile defense issues with other western militaries.
This year’s drill is the largest joint exercise ever held by the two allies.

The Return of Israel's Existential Dread

The invisible but all-pervasive presence on that cheerful map of existential dread is Iran. If Israel were to launch a pre-emptive strike against Iranian nuclear facilities, Tehran's two terrorist allies on our borders—Hezbollah and Hamas—would almost certainly renew attacks against the Israeli home front. And Tel Aviv would be hit by Iranian long-range missiles.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Iran hasn't started any war for the last 200 years.

The leaders of Iran may be many things, but they are not stupid. They understand that any attack on Israel would lead to a massive counter-attack by the US and Israel which would pulverize Iran into a puddle of green glass.

And knowing, without any bit of ambiguity, that Israel has nuclear weapons, refuses to sign the NNPT, and refuses inspections of their nuclear sites, it is Iran which is probably feeling a great deal of existential dread right the heck now.

Every single inspection by the IAEA has indicated that absolutely no nuclear material has been diverted, nor has any been enriched beyond the level necessary to run a power plant.

This article, and the fact-challenged and fact-devoid articles like it, are journalistic equivalent of junk food, intended for massive consumption to prepare the American public for an Israeli attack against Iran in the near-term.

But please don't drink the koolaid on this one; because it will be our kids serving in our active military who will be called to defend "poor little Israel" with their lives.

Clinton warns Iran that patience has limits

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Saturday called on Iran to fulfill its obligations over its controversial nuclear programme, warning the Islamic republic that "patience has limits."

Webmaster's Commentary:

The only "limits" she is discussing are those imposed by Netanyahu earlier this year, who threatened that if the US couldn't take care of the (non-existent) threat of a nuclear armed Iran by the end of this year, Israel would take care of that with a military strike.

It's the first of November, and the clock is ticking toward such a potential scenario.

There's no deal here which has been cast in cement; it is completely reasonable that Iran wants more talks. This is a framework for a potential agreement only.

Let us hope that the adults in the room in Tehran, Tel Aviv, Vienna, and Washington will find a win/win way to make this work.

Otherwise, we may well be looking at a military confrontation which could spell the beginning of World War III, as Russia has made very clear upon whose side they would be fighting, should such a confrontation happen.

Iran and six world powers are separately engaged in a dialogue over allaying Western concerns about Iran’s nuclear program, which it suspects is aimed at making weapons — a charge strongly denied by Iran.

“The best way for you is to respect the Iranian nation and cooperate honestly with this nation,” the official IRNA news agency quoted Ahmadinejad as saying on Saturday at a function in northeastern Iran. He added Tehran will give a “constructive, generous and positive response” if world powers extend an “honest hand” towards it, but the Islamic republic will unleash its “revolutionary fury” if that hand is of “hypocrisy.”

Iran Deal on Brink of Collapse as West Condemns Compromise

Just a few hours after the Iranian government submitted a compromise proposal on the third party uranium enrichment deal with the P5+1, European diplomats quickly, and angrily, rejected it.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It isn't a deal until ALL sides agree to it.

Of course, the obvious purpose here isn't Iran's power station and medical isotopes, but to justify another war of conquest for Americans to die in while trying to make it look like Iran is the bad guy here.

Here is a recap of what they are trying to make you forget.

1. Last Spring, Rose Gottemoeller, an assistant secretary of state and Washington's chief nuclear arms negotiator, asked Israel to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. Israel refused.

2. The United Nations passed a resolution calling on Israel to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and to submit to inspections. Israel refused.

3. The IAEA asked Israel to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and to submit to inspections. Israel refused.

4. Iran's formal notification to the IAEA of the planned construction of the backup fuel-rod facility underscores that Iran is playing by the rules of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty which Iran has signed.

5. Iran allows IAEA inspections of all its facilities.

6. Contrary to face-saving claims, it appears that the US and Israel were both caught off guard by Iran's announcement. The reasoning is simple. Had the US or Israel announced the existence of he new facility before Iran's notified the IAEA, it would have put Iran on the defensive. As it is now, the US and Israel seem to be playing catch up, casting doubt on the veracity of Israel's claims to "know" that Iran is a nuclear threat.

7. The IAEA and all 16 United States Intelligence Agencies are unanimous in agreement that Iran is not building and does not possess nuclear weapons.

8. In 1986, Mordachai Vanunu blew the whistle and provided photographs showing Israel's clandestine nuclear weapons factory underneath the reactor at Dimona.

9. Israel made the same accusations against Iraq that it is making against Iran, leading up to Israel's bombing of the power station at Osirik. Following the invasion of 2003, international experts examined the ruins of the power station at Osirik and found no evidence of a clandestine weapons factory in the rubble.

10. The United Nations has just released the Goldstone Report, a scathing report which accuses Israel of 37 specific war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza earlier this year. Israel has denounced the report as "Anti-Semitic (even though Judge Goldstone is himself Jewish), and the United States will block the report from being referred to the War Crimes Tribunal at the Hague, thereby making the US Government an accessory after-the-fact.

Iran Deal on Brink of Collapse as West Condemns Compromise

The “eventually France” part was a stalling point for Iran however, as France had previously reneged on Uranium Hexafluoride shipments to them and Iranian MPs expressed concern that the French might simply keep the uranium once it got to them.

Oct 30 07:32

Trying to spin a war out of a negotiation.

A senior European official characterized the Iranian response as “basically a refusal.” The Iranians, he said, want to keep all of their lightly enriched uranium in the country until receiving fuel bought from the West for the reactor in Tehran.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Look at this from Iran's point of view. The deal the US and Israel want is for Iran to simply ship most of their uranium out of Iran, then trust that somewhere down the road the processed uranium will get shipped back. But Iran is having trouble trusting the US on this deal and for a very good reason; the United States is already violating the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty by asking Iran to cease peaceful uses of nuclear power. For that matter so are France, Britain, and Germany. They all signed the NNPT alongside Iran but are in violation of that treaty by supporting the US position. Israel is not in violation of the NNPT for the simple reason that they never signed it nor have they allowed the same inspections that Iran allows. The fact that France previously reneged on a similar deal involving Iranian uranium shipped to France but never shipped back does not help.

There is one other reason for Iran to be cautious about letting all their processed uranium leave the country. The presence of refined uranium at Iran's facilities is a major reason those facilities have not yet been bombed. If Israel were to attack those facilities while the uranium is resident it would create a disaster on a scale equal to Chernobyl that would poison the middle east including Israel itself (already dealing with leakage issues from the Dimona reactor). If Iran sends the all the uranium in a given facility to Russia, that facility becomes an instant target. It is rather unrealistic to expect Iran to trust the very nations that have been threatening to attack Iran for months now, especially after seeing the war waged on Iraq on the basis of lies and deceptions.

The problem we face today is that too many governments see a new world war as their best way to get out of the troubles they are in, and they are perfectly happy to see millions of people continue to die horrible deaths to prolong their power.

Iran accused of playing games on nuclear deal

Iran has been accused of playing games after attempting to renegotiate a deal on its nuclear programme.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Isn/t diplomacy where both sides negotiate to reach a deal?

Instead the "we gotta have a war NOW" crowd is taking the position that Iran has to do as they are told without question or face war.

This strikes me as odd because as we have pointed out many times already, Iran has a right to build nuclear power plants and other peaceful uses of nuclear energy as guaranteed by the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, which Iran has signed.

The United States has also signed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, which means that under international law, the US is required to recognize Iran's right to peaceful uses of nuclear power. Under Article IV, the United States is required to assist Iran in building peaceful applications of nuclear technology.

For that matter, France, Britain, and Germany, which are reported in this article to reject Iran's proposal, are also signers of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. Which means they are also required by treaty law to recognize Iran's right to peaceful uses of nuclear power.

The message here is clear. "Someone" has made the decision that Iran is to be destroyed and it does not matter what concessions Iran makes, the war will be on. Apparently to please the warhawks, France, Britain, and Germany have no problem being seen as treaty-breakers and rogue nations.

Meanwhile, of course, there is the problem of Israel which has NOT signed the NNPT does NOT allow IAEA inspections, and yet leads the charge to demonize Iran (just as it did Iraq) over a non-existent weapons threat.

War with Iran will mean war with Russia.

Do you really want to go through that for Israel?

Speaking to a rally on Thursday in the northeastern city of Mashhad, Ahmadinejad said "ground has been paved for nuclear cooperation" and that Tehran is ready to work on nuclear fuel supplies and technical know-how with the U.N. nuclear watchdog.

Do you love humanity enough to stop illegal US wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and Iran?

Most people claim the religious/spiritual/philosophical value of love to be highly important to their self-expression. Let’s explore the virtue of love and inquire into its application regarding current US wars.

An absolutely beginners’ test for love is if you care minimally enough to act in prevention of a violent attack against another person, with all likelihood that attack will cause severe pain and suffering upon the victim. Americans have been in the presence of such a test for the current wars with Iraq, Afghanistan, and rhetoric for more war in Iran. An important part of our understanding is being clear about the truth of our government’s claims justifying these wars as helpful for US national security and/or helpful for the countries’ populations we’ve invaded.

"When an illegal regime possesses nuclear weapons, the other countries' rights for peaceful nuclear energy can not be denied," the semi-official Iranian news agency ISNR quoted Ahmadinejad as saying.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is really the crux of the problem. Israel has a not-so-secret nuclear weapons lab under Dimona but calls for the blocking of other nations' power stations.

The US Army openly confirms Israel's nuclear arms.

So did Harry Reid.

Click for larger image

But the US Government pretends not to know about Israel's nuclear weapons so that they can continue to send Israel YOUR tax dollars in violation of the Symington Amendment to the Foreign Appropriations act.

With its stunning vistas and former Ottoman palaces, the banks of the Bosphorus – the strategic waterway that cuts Istanbul in half and divides Europe from Asia – may be the perfect place to distinguish friend from foe and establish where your country's interests lie.

And sitting in his grandiose headquarters beside the strait, long the symbol of Turkey's supposed role as bridge between east and west, Recep Tayyip Erdogan had little doubt about who was a friend and who wasn't.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Iran's radical president whose fiery rhetoric has made him a bête noire of the west? "There is no doubt he is our friend," said Erdogan, Turkey's prime minister for the last six years. "As a friend so far we have very good relations and have had no difficulty at all."

Could there be a motive for Israel to destabilize Iraq right now?

Look at the map!
In spite of the deal Iran has made with Russia and France about it´s nuclear enrichment program, Israel is still threatening an attack.
If Israel wants to attack Iran from it´s own territory it has to fly over Iraq. There is no other way.

FLASHBACK - Report Ties Dubious Iran Nuclear Docs to Israel

That false and misleading charge from an intelligence official of a foreign country, who was not identified but was clearly Israeli, reinforces two of Israel’s key propaganda themes on Iran – that the 2007 U.S. National Intelligence Estimate on Iran is wrong, and that Tehran is poised to build nuclear weapons as soon as possible.

But it also provides new evidence that Israeli intelligence was the source of the collection of intelligence documents which have been used to accuse Iran of hiding nuclear weapons research.

Iran FM plays down threat of pre-emptive IDF strike

Iran's foreign minister on Monday played down the possibility of Israel launching a strike against the Islamic Republic's nuclear program, after his French counterpart warned of such an attack if talks between Iran and world powers failed.

"We regard the Zionist regime in the current era in its weakest position," the semi-official ISNA news agency quoted Manouchehr Mottaki as saying.

EU official: Israel out of the loop on Iran talks

A senior European Union official told Israeli officials this week that Israel is not privy to the details of the exchanges between Iran and the Western countries regarding its nuclear program. "You do not understand the extent to which you are not in the picture. You do not know how much you do not know and what is happening in Iran," he said.

Accordingly, a number of senior Israeli officials backed the European official's statements by saying that the release of the draft of an agreement with Iran caught Israel by surprise.

Webmaster's Commentary:

... which is why Israel has sent troops into the Al Aqsa Mosque to try to kick off a new Intifada. If Israel cannot get a war with Iran to distract the world from the Goldstone Report, then Israel's plan is to provoke the Muslims into a rage in order to portray them as savages unworthy of the world's sympathy, in order to collapse the growing support for Israel's war crimes to be referred to the Hague.

If you are in Palestine and reading these words, do NOT let Israel goad you into rash actions that Israel will then use to evade their war crimes.

Just stop and think. Israel's leaders are on the verge of being called to the Hague to face war crimes charges. Even if the US succeeds in blocking that, Israel's public image of helpless victim fighting for its existence is gone. Please do not hand it back to them on a silver platter with any rash actions.

Israel was hoping to distract the world from the Goldstone Report with a war on Iran. That appears to have collapsed with Iran's impending deal to allow Russia to refine their medical radioisotopes. So Israel stands naked before the world for their war crimes without so much as a fig leaf to hide behind. That is why they have attacked Al Aqsa. They are trying to provoke a new Intifada, and if they get it, the obedient media will use it to portray the Palestinians as a violent and unruly mob unworthy of any sympathy and world public support to send Israel to the Hague will collapse. The longer Palestinians refuse to be provoked, the worse Israel will look. Think Gandhi and the British. The British wanted the world to see the Indians as a primitive and barbarous people that "needed" British control. Gandhi and his supporters refused to be baited, and simply let Britain burn its own public image of "benevolent tyrant" out.

Israel's standing in the world has taken a major beating in the last year. They have been damaged far more than you may yet realize. The incursion into Al Aqsa is an act of desperation which if it is NOT responded to only makes Israel look more like a bully. In the end, Al Aqsa is just a building. God lives in your heart, in your head, and in your hands. Violence might save the building, but bring about the total war by Christians on Islam that Israel so badly needs right now.

ISRAEL HELL BENT ON FINAL CONFRONTATION AGAINST IRAN.

It’s becoming increasingly apparent to the entire world now that, no matter what Iran does with regard to its nuclear program, it will never be enough for Israel and Israel will continue to pursue its witch-hunt against Iran until the regime in Iran has been changed and it will use Iran’s so-called ‘nuclear weapons program’ as the excuse they need to eventually instigate a final confrontation that they hope will lead to that regime change.

UN inspectors visit uranium enrichment facility in Iran

UN inspectors got their first look today inside a once-secret uranium enrichment facility that has raised western suspicions about the extent of Iran's nuclear programme.

Oct 25 10:14

Iranian site prompts U.S. to rethink assessment

Early Sunday, if all goes as planned, U.N. nuclear inspectors will travel to a military base near Qom, Iran, for a first look at one of the country's most closely guarded nuclear secrets. Inside bunkers dug into the side of a mountain, the visitors will be escorted through a nearly completed uranium plant that Iran's president has termed "very ordinary."

But less than a month after its existence was publicly revealed, many U.S. and European intelligence officials say they are increasingly convinced that the site was intended explicitly for making highly enriched uranium for nuclear weapons.

Webmaster's Commentary:

OK, just a little logic here.

If the site was dedicated to enrichment of uranium to the level necessary to create weapons, why has Iran invited the IAEA inspectors here to see the facility?!?

So far, Iran, as a signatory of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, has played everything by the book. Their current power station plant, built with Russian assistance, has been inspected by the IAEA.

Never have those inspections revealed that nuclear material has been either diverted, or enriched to the level necessary to create nuclear weapons.

The facility at Qom was reported to the IAEA before it became operational, and no uranium has been enriched here as required by a signatory of the NNPT.

So, we've got Iran absolutely dotting every i and crossing every t in terms of compliance to the the terms and conditions of the NNPT.

But what about Israel? Israel has nuclear bombs at their Dimona facility (and probably elsewhere), but Israel refuses to become a signatory to the NNPT, and refuses to allow inspections of is nuclear sites, unlike Iran.

U.N. officials arrive in Iran to inspect new nuclear facility

International officials arrived in Iran on Sunday to inspect a newly disclosed nuclear facility near the city of Qom, state media reported.

Inspectors from the United Nations' nuclear watchdog -- the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) -- will visit the installation to make sure it is being used for peaceful purposes, said Ali Akbar Salehi, the head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, according to the Islamic Republic News Agency.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Israeli military strike more likely after Iran misses nuclear deadline

Its announcement on Friday will raise suspicions it just wants to bog down the limited deal on offer in further delay and, although more talks are likely, attention will turn east.

Given that Israeli government has made a nuclear-free Iran its prime international goal, a military strike to try to achieve that is now correspondingly more likely.

Webmaster's Commentary:

For the trillionth time: Iran did not "miss a deadline"; the date of 23 October was a suggestion by El Baradei of the IAEA for a timetable, but not a hard and fast deadline.

Iran has requested a couple more days to respond, and put together a counter-proposal for the IAEA, which will be reviewed by the IAEA team next week in Vienna.

Reasonable people in Washington and Tel Aviv should be listening, and watching appropriately.

But the worst possible solution to Iran's pursuing nuclear enrichment, which it has the legal right to do as a signatory to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, would be a war.

And as to Israel's all consuming desire for a "nuclear-free Iran (when all inspections by the IAEA indicate that there has been no weapons-grade enrichment, and that no nuclear materials have gone missing), I've got an even better idea for it.

How about a nuclear free Israel, which has nuclear weapons, and will not sign the Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty, and not allow inspections?!?

Just something to think about.

Barack Obama's policy on brink of collapse as Tehran does last-minute nuclear stall

President Obama’s policy of diplomatic engagement with Iran is close to collapse as Tehran backtracks on a crucial deal aimed at cutting its stockpiles of nuclear fuel.

Today, however, with just hours until the deadline, Iran has turned the table on its foreign interlocutors with a rival proposal, demanding that it be allowed to buy higher enriched uranium directly from abroad.

Webmaster's Commentary:

You've got to love just how desperately TIMESONLINE is attempting to spin Iran's counter-proposal as a failure of Western diplomacy, the contents of which will be evaluated next week by the IAEA in Vienna.

It is obvious that those who own this paper would love nothing better than to see a US/Israeli-led war against Iran; of course, none of their kids would ever wind up in the cross-fire, dead, or maimed for life.

And before lapsing into the great delirium of absolute jingoism, the owners of this institution had better ponder the following: Russia has stated that it will continue to supply defensive weapons to Iran. They have also previously warned the US and Israel that an attack on Iran will provoke World War III.

War with Russia, anyone?!?

Russia actually has nukes, and is just in the process of re-writing military policy, which will include under what circumstances they can engage in a pre-emptive nuclear strike.

Iran Proposes Alternative Nuclear Deal

Iran is proposing as an alternative simply buying the uranium it needs for the isotopes outright, without having to ship the existing uranium overseas at all. Though there appears to be no legal obstacle to this alternative plan it is unclear if the deal will be accepted, as Western nations had relished the opportunity to get most of Iran’s uranium stockpile in a third party nation.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Let us hope we have some adults in the room in Tel Aviv and Washington, as this alternate proposal is presented by Iran.

Obama's Delay, or Why Israel Might Nuke Iran

So the generals are brewing, and the veterans are getting restive. Nine months after Obama’s inauguration, according to the Times, the military establishment is beginning to lose its patience with a president who has yet to commit to a coherent plan for Afghanistan.

Needless to say, Obama’s delay isn’t for lack of information, much less analysis. Last spring he sent an A-Team of military strategists and counter-insurgency experts to comb the Afghan countryside, while more recently it’s been a rare day that the editorial pages of the Washington Post, the New York Times or the LA Times have failed to roll out yet another version of What To Do.

So why then can’t Obama commit?

US displeased at delay in Iran response on uranium

Iran said it was "considering the proposal in depth and in a favorable light, but needs until the middle of next week to provide a response," the Vienna-based nuclear agency said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Which seems perfectly reasonable to me for an agreement of this scope, but of course the US and Israel wants this deal to fail because with out, they are in big trouble!

-----

Israel is cornered here. For that matter so is the United States. When this Iran deal goes through on Friday, the primary excuse for war with Iran evaporates.

Where does that leave Israel and the United States?

Israel now faces war crimes charges at the Hague. Yes, the United States will veto the Goldstone Report in the Security Council, but the ringer in the deal is that the General assembly, under Resolution 377, can bypass the Security Council and send the Goldstone Report to the Hague and the United States and Israel cannot stop it. Earlier this year, the General Assembly voted through a resolution requesting Israel to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and submit to the exact same IAEA inspections that Iran (and every other NNPT signatory) submits to. Israel refused. The fact that Israel and the United States were not able to deflect this Resolution tell us that the General Assembly has lost all patience with Israel. The credibility of the UN as a world governing body is on the line. The probability that the General Assembly will bypass the Security Council is therefore very high. A war with Iran would have distracted the media from Israel's war crimes charges. That seems not likely to happen now.

As for the United States, the US Government was hoping to ignite a new major war, one which would distract Americans from the already failed wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, not to mention the economy destroyed by failed US Government policy. And based on prior history, the US Government probably anticipates that a new major war would persuade Americans to forget their anger over the aforesaid failed government policy, and imbued with a renewed patriotic fervor would suddenly return to being obedient breeders of soldiers and payers of war-taxes. As naive as that expectation might have been, the Iran enrichment deal ends the possibility of a new war with which to distract from the old war.

So both the United States and Israel are in serious trouble. They had wanted war with Iran to distract the world from their various domestic problems, and now that is not likely to happen. Israel has to live with their war crimes charges. The US has to live with their ruined economy and failed wars, and public anger. Both Israel and the US are showing themselves as desperate to block Israel war crimes charged from progressing, and may have wasted that political capital in vain if the UN General; Assembly invokes Resolution 377.

So, in short, Israel and the US are cornered politically. Cornered animals are the most dangerous and desperate. Our future is in the hands of whichever leader is the least mentally stable, and ready to hit the panic button. That panic move; that striking out from the corner could be something subtle like a new false-flag "terror" attack, or something as straightforward as simply attacking Iran without provocation.

But Israel and the US are cornered right now. and we should be prepared to see them act like it.

Hour of decision on Iran

Echoing ElBaradei's sentiment, Iran's envoy to the IAEA, Ali Asghar Soltanieh, termed the talks "constructive and successful", although he was careful to emphasize that, contrary to reports in some Western media, no final decision had been made. At the time of writing, momentum appeared to be growing in Tehran against any hasty decision.

"The deadline on Friday was not agreed at the meeting and was Mr ElBaradei's own opinion," a Tehran source tells the author. The source added that in his opinion, "Extra time is definitely needed, at least to avoid the impression that Iran jumped into a fateful decision that weighs so heavy and needs to be studied very carefully from all angles."

Webmaster's Commentary:

It would be reasonable for Tehran present a counter-proposal.

The US is attempting to "railroad" through an agreement without regard to Iran's point of view.

The US and Israel want to force Iran to surrender their rights under the nuclear non-proliferation treaty. Obviously, Iran has no desire to do so, especially in the face of an Israel which has refused UN and US requests to sign the NNPT, or to allow IAEA inspections.

Iran fails to accept U.N.-drafted nuclear deal

Iran has repeatedly rejected U.N. and IAEA calls on it to curb enrichment or grant unfettered U.N. inspections, meant to verify that it is not trying to develop nuclear weapons.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This story feels like a plant to scuttle the reports of a successful deal coming from other sources, primarily because of the line quoted above, which is a fabrication. Iran allows all inspections required by the IAIA under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.

It is Israel that refuses to allow inspections.

Officials fear Iran 'buying time' as inner cabinet mulls strategy

Israeli assessments regarding a nuclear deal under negotiation with Iran is that it benefits mainly the Islamic regime as it allows Teheran to "buy time" and gives the republic legitimacy to enrich uranium, Israel Radio reported on Thursday.

Webmaster's Commentary:

As I predicted yesterday, Israel is trying to find some way to scuttle the Iran deal and proceed with the war.

------------------

Israel is cornered here. For that matter so is the United States. When this Iran deal goes through on Friday, the primary excuse for war with Iran evaporates.

Iran reserves right to up uranium enrichment

"As we have said before, we will not give up our rights," Ali Akbar Salehi told the state-owned Iran newspaper.

Iran, Israel attend secret nuclear meet in Cairo

Israeli and Iranian representatives recently took part in a conference in Cairo on nuclear non-proliferation in the Middle East, the Israel Atomic Energy Commission (IAEC) said Thursday, but Tehran said the report on the meeting was untrue.

Webmaster's Commentary:

From this report it appears that Israel is going to try to act like they are the primary movers in finding a peaceful solution to the "Iranian Question", both to counter the war crimes charged they are facing at the UN and to soften the public-relations blow that an Iran nuclear deal will create.

But I tend to accept the Iranian statement that there was no meeting to discuss non-proliferation in the Middle East, simply because any such meting would open with a discussion of Israel's illegal weapons factory under the Dimona reactor complex.

Obama joins Netanyahu in shielding Israel from war crimes charges

The United Nations Human Rights Council has endorsed a report into Israel’s 22-day assault on Gaza in December and January, accusing Israel of war crimes.

Israel’s premier, Binyamin Netanyahu, predictably denounced the report as biased against Israel and unjust and insisted that he would not allow any Israeli officials to face trial for war crimes. The Obama administration echoed Israel, calling the report unbalanced, and said that its adoption would damage the possibility of resuming talks between Israel and the Palestinians. The talks are a necessary fig leaf for bringing the Arab regimes on side against Iran.

Webmaster's Commentary:

In other words, Obama wants to be able to pretend to have peace talks to sucker the other Arab states into putting pressure on Iran, but in reality one does not move the peace process forward by allowing Israel to commit war crimes with impunity. "Based on the information... as a result of today's terrorist action... so far 29 people have been martyred and 28 have been wounded," the ministry said on its website.

"The martyrs include several innocent Shiite and Sunni people, tribal chiefs and commanders of Guards (including senior officers in the Iran Revolutionary Guards Corps including deputy chief of the ground forces Brigadier General Nour Ali Shushtari). Very soon we will catch the perpetrators of this terrorist action and punish them."

Webmaster's Commentary:

As the Iranian suspicions fly amid US denials regarding the recent assassination of top Iranian commanders, I wanted to relink this to remind everyone that as war with Iran looms close, to expect distortions of the truth from the corporate media.

Former Iran VP: Strike will boost regime

A military strike against Iran's nuclear program, as well as economic sanctions, will only serve to boost the Ayatollah regime while weakening revolution prospects, Iran's former vice president warned Saturday.

Mohajerani, who served as Hashemi Rafsanjani's deputy between 1989 and 1997, and as culture minister under Mohammad Khatami, argued that enough had been said about a military solution in Iran.

Did eight years of using force resolve the problem in Afghanistan?" he said. "A military strike will boost the regime in Iran and eliminate democratization."

Webmaster's Commentary:

This observation is absolutely correct; unfortunately, there are very powerful elements within the governments of both Israel and the US which see some kind of war - any war - as a way to get out of - or at least deflect public anger from - their domestic problems.

Iranian official blames deadly bombing on 'U.S. actions'

While no one immediately claimed responsibility for the attack, Iran pointed the finger at the United States without disclosing its reasons.

"We consider this recent terrorist act to be the result of the U.S. actions and this is a sign of their enmity," said parliament Speaker Ali Larijani.

A U.S. State Department spokesman said the accusation was "completely false."

"We condemn this act of terrorism and mourn the loss of innocent lives. Reports of alleged U.S. involvement are completely false," Ian Kelly told CNN.

Webmaster's Commentary:

"It's false, I tell you. Totally false. I mean, I mean, I mean, we're the @#$%ing United States!! Would we do something like that?!? Of COURSE not! We're the @#$%ing United States!! We don't DO things like that!!! We're as clean as the preacher's sheets!!!! It's probably a suicide bomber. Yeah, yeah, sure, sure; a suicide bomber. That's it! Yeah, yeah, sure, sure!!!" -- Official White Horse Souse

The group taking credit for the bombing, Jandullah, "the Army of God", is covertly supported by the United States, and word from inside Iran is that they think the US is behind the bombing.

America and Great Britain’s Secret Support of Jandullah

Ibrahim Raisi, the vice president of Iran’s judicial branch, says that Iran has evidence that shows that America and Great Britain support the group Jandullah, "the Army of God."

Mr. Raisi said that these two countries supply this group, which is similar to al Qaeda and the Taliban, with weapons and information.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is the group that supposedly took credit for blowing up Iran's key military officers.

About 20 killed in Iran attack: report

About 20 people were killed, including senior military officers of Iran's elite Revolutionary Guards Corps, in an attack early Sunday in the south-eastern province of Sistan-Baluchestan, Fars news agency reported.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Only a few days ago, senior Israeli officials talked very openly about destabilizing Iran through a series of covert ops; in looking at this attack, where senior officers of Iran's Revolutionary Guards Corps were killed, one has to wonder if this process has not already begun.

The group taking credit for the bombing, Jandullah, "the Army of God", is covertly supported by the United States, and word from inside Iran is that they think the US is behind the bombing.

It’s Not Iran, Stupid

Obama’s UNSC Resolution 1887, which begins by;

"Resolving to seek a safer world for all and to create the conditions for a world without nuclear weapons, in accordance with the goals of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), in a way that promotes international stability, and based on the principle of undiminished security for all,"

Obama then

"Calls upon all States that are not Parties to the NPT to accede to the Treaty as non-nuclear-weapon States so as to achieve its universality at an early date, and pending their accession to the Treaty, to adhere to its terms;"
