WHAT REALLY HAPPENED | The History The US Government HOPES You Never Learn!

I have been informed by RBN that most of the other hosts are taking the day off and the technical staff would like the whole day off, so our next live broadcast will be Tuesday.

Have a happy memorial day!

A reminder to all readers that my What Really Happened Radio show is on the Republic Broadcasting Network these days. GCN is replaying old shows and old podcasts, which is causing some confusion among listeners unaware of my recent move.

9-11 Judge is Connected to Rothschild-Funded Mossad Culprit ICTS

Judge Hellerstein's close family connection to the Rothschild-funded Mossad company responsible for the terror attacks of 9-11 explains why he was chosen to handle the 9-11 tort litigation. He was chosen to manage the 9-11 litigation to protect the 9-11 deception - and the guilty - by blocking discovery and preventing a trial. When Judge Alvin K. Hellerstein closes the book on the 9-11 litigation having settled all the cases out of court without a trial, I suspect he will have to retire in Israel. Knowing very well how he and his Zionist cronies have obstructed justice for so many people, his fear will not let him live in peace among those he has wronged so grievously.

Lest we forget……

Photos of the Nakba (“the catastrophe”): the expulsion and dispossession of hundreds of thousands Palestinians from their homes and land in 1948. In 1948 more than 60 percent of the total Palestinian population was expelled. More than 530 Palestinian villages were depopulated and completely destroyed. To date, Israel has prevented the return of approximately six million Palestinian refugees, who have either been expelled or displaced. Approximately 250,000 internally displaced Palestinian second-class citizens of Israel are prevented from returning to their homes and villages.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Israel's membership at the United Nations was contingent on allowing the Palestinians to return to their homes, or in the event the Palestinians chose not to, to compensate them for the loss of their property. Israel has never complied with either requirement, and yet the United Nations fails to act on the matter, while the United States continues to use their veto at the Security Council to protect Israel from the conse3quences of their war crimes in Gaza.

Once Amigos, Now Enemies: BP, Halliburton, And Transocean

One thing is for sure, and that is that with this oil spill many secrets that have been kept hush-hush on how these rigs are built in the Gulf, will finally come to light.

There many angry people in Louisiana, many disgruntled rig workers, and whistle-blowers that will reveal what they know in days to come to investigators. BP, Transocean and Halliburton would be better off banding together instead of pointing fingers at each other. If our justice system works, each of the companies will have to pay for cutting corners, violating safety standards, and for conspiracy.

Digging up chemical weapons in D.C.

Since 1993, the Army Corps of Engineers has removed 84 chemical-filled shells and more than 1,000 conventional munitions, plus at least 44,000 tons of contaminated dirt and debris, from the verdant campus of American University and the manicured lawns of Spring Valley, one of Washington's most prestigious neighborhoods.

The toxic trash dates from 1917 and 1918, when the military leased the then-rural campus and nearby farms to test gruesome gases. After the war, soldiers and scientists buried lethal leftovers in unmarked pits, calling the area Death Valley.

Israeli Hypocrisy: Talking Peace While Preparing For War

On May 7, Jerusalem Post writer Caroline Glick headlined, “Column One: Time to plan for war,” saying that Obama’s “repeated abdication of responsibility (for) preventing nuclear non-proliferation leaves it on Israel’s shoulders” to prepare for the:

“coming war (in which) Israel will have only one goal: to destroy or seriously damage Iran’s nuclear installations. Every resource turned against Iran’s proxies must be aimed at facilitating that goal. That is, the only thing Israel should seek to accomplish in contending with Syria, Hizbullah and Hamas is to prevent them from diverting Israeli’s resources away from attacking Iran’s nuclear installations.”

Senate Votes 96-0 For One Time Audit Of Federal Reserve

The Washington Post’s Ezra Klein (who has not come out either for, or against, an audit of the Fed) raises the same question many of us at Campaign for Liberty had when looking at the Sanders amendment…

The amended version of Audit the Fed passed the Senate 96 to 0 today. A version that was closer to the original — that is to say, it would’ve created a regular audit rather than a one-time audit — lost, 37 to 62. I’m a bit confused by a world in which 96 senators think we need to know what the Fed did in 2008 and 2009 but only 37 think we’ll need to know what the Fed did in 2012 and 2013.

What the Sanders amendment really called for was a mere one-time disclosure of some emergency lending powers used by the Federal Reserve during the most recent fiscal crisis, not an audit.

How Edmund de Rothschild Managed to Let 179 Governments Pay Him for Grasping Up to 30% of the Earth

After Edmund de Rothschild's statement, without basis, at the 4th World Wilderness Congress in 1987, that CO2 is the cause of a non-existent global warming - and that combating it needs money (our money), he founded the World Conservation Bank for this reason. In 1991 its name was changed to The Global Environment Facility (GEF). The purpose of this facility is to lend money to the poorest countries, printed by the IMF out of thin air, and with the guarantee of our governments. The facility takes wilderness areas with mineral riches as security.

Jesse Ventura-Edmund de Rothschild behind Global Warming

Jesse Ventura is following the money trail, out to expose the most frightening, inconvenient Conspiracy Theory yet: That Global Warming may be a scam.

The movement claims the planet is heading to disaster because factories and cars are heating up the atmosphere with carbon dioxide. The green industry feeds off our fears and urges us to spend billions on products that purport to be good for the environment.

This week, Jesse and his investigators are traveling around the world to expose the power-brokers who pull the strings and rake in fortunes. The Conspiracy Theory team aims to get to the bottom of claims that global warming is a powerful plot meant to extort, tax and control all of us.

(LONDON) - Talking about anti-Semitism, and the accusation of anti-Semitism, is to many people a very sensitive issue. Nevertheless, I feel the need to highlight some points: As a Palestinian and as a Muslim, with first hand experience of racism, whether here in UK or in occupied Palestine.

I do understand what it means to be subjugated to it; thus, I deeply empathise with those who suffer from the menace of racism and discrimination, those who are abused verbally, physically, emotionally, or otherwise for no other reason than the fact that they are “different”.

March On Wall Street: Unions Grab The Bull By The Horn (April 29, 2010)

Taking to the streets of downtown Manhattan, an expected gathering of 10,000 AFL-CIO union members shouted and jeered at the offices surrounding them, demanding three major changes to Wall Street culture. The first is to call off the lobbyists fighting regulatory reform. The second is to stop the incessant focus on market speculation over business lending. The third is to chip in money for job creation initiatives.

On Thursday, however, the AFL-CIO was out-tea partying the Tea Partiers: demanding tougher rules for the financial industry from the belly of the beast. The Huffington Post reached out to two official Tea Party organizations to see if they would send individuals to the Wall Street march. Neither Tea New York nor the Tea Party Express would be in attendance, said officials.

These guys have it right. Not a Tea Bagger in sight? This also didn't get much media attention.

Some have cheered his forthright honesty and heartfelt sincerity. Others are afraid of the PR blowback. Pope: Church's own sins to blame in sex scandal

In his most thorough admission of the church's guilt in the clerical sex abuse scandal, Pope Benedict XVI said Tuesday the greatest persecution of the institution "is born from the sins within the church," and not from a campaign by outsiders.

The pontiff said the Catholic church has always been tormented by problems of its own making — a tendency that is being witnessed today "in a truly terrifying way."

"The church needs to profoundly relearn penitence, accept purification, learn forgiveness but also justice," he said.

"Forgiveness cannot substitute justice," he said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

That "justice" is about to be meted out by way of the burgeoning lawsuits against the church for sexual child abuse, and that is going to hit the Vatican where it lives... it its wallet!

Iran says it warned off U.S. plane near manoeuvres

Iran's military warned off a U.S. reconnaissance aircraft trying to approach Iranian naval manoeuvres, the semi-official Fars News Agency said on Tuesday.

The incident involving the two old adversaries happened on Monday, it quoted the armed forces chief as saying.

Iran's navy last week launched eight days of exercises in the Gulf and the Gulf of Oman, a region crucial for global oil supplies.

"A U.S. reconnaissance aircraft which had intended to approach our operational war games left ... upon the timely warning of our air defence forces," Fars quoted armed forces commander Ataollah Salehi as saying.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Things are so tense in this part of the world that all it would take is one stupid miscalculation anywhere in the region to spark the beginnings of a war.

Lawyers: Rig workers asked to sign statements

Workers aboard an exploding offshore drilling platform were told to sign statements denying they were hurt or witnessed the blast that rocked the rig, killed 11 and spewed millions of gallons of oil into the ocean, their attorneys said Tuesday.

Survivors floated for hours in life boats in the Gulf of Mexico following the disaster on the Deepwater Horizon, and were greeted by company officials onshore asking them to sign statements that they had no "first hand or personal knowledge" of the incident, attorneys said.

"These men are told they have to sign these statements or they can't go home," said Tony Buzbee, a Houston-based attorney for 10 Transocean workers. "I think it's pretty callous, but I'm not surprised by it."

Webmaster's Commentary:

If Transocean executives have demanded that their workers do this, they know that something was very seriously wrong with conditions before the explosion happened.

Investors returned to safe investments again, a day after stocks and other riskier assets rallied on news that European leaders agreed to a nearly $1 trillion rescue package aimed at helping Greece and other weak European economies manage their debt loads.

Gold for June delivery jumped $19.50 to settle at $1,220.30 an ounce. Earlier in trading, gold rose as high as $1,225.20 an ounce, just shy of the record $1,227.50 it set in December.

US ‘reconsidering’ pace of Iraq withdrawal

American commanders, worried about increased violence in the wake of Iraq's inconclusive elections, are now reconsidering the pace of a major troop pullout this summer, U.S. officials said Tuesday.

The withdrawal of the first major wave of troops is expected to be delayed by about a month, the officials said. Waiting much longer could endanger President Barack Obama's goal of reducing the force level from 92,000 to 50,000 troops by Aug. 31.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It looks as though Iraq is already at the brink of a new civil war.

Please let laissez-faire go

The prevailing neo-liberal ideology to which the UK is wedded rests on the idea of completely open borders to trade and capital flows. It is a dog-eat-dog world that places market competition as the prime motif of economic policy-making. Companies are free, even encouraged, to have their products made wherever it is cheapest to do so and to export them into the UK rather than have them manufactured locally.

Regions with the lowest production costs are invariably those with low-paid labour, poor educational and welfare standards and non-existent pollution controls. So while we import cheap manufactures, we export, free of charge, our responsibilities for the welfare of employees and for the environmental impact of industrial production.

FLASHBACK - David Cameron ‘could be a direct descendant of Moses’

Dr Wise’s study of archival material also suggests that Mr Cameron, who has described himself as an “enthusiastic friend of the Jewish people”, could be a direct descendant of Moses.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Talk about a reach! Unless Moses strolled through Central Asia, I rather doubt this pathetic attempt to cash in on "The Prince's" fame. Modern archaeology suggests that the Exodus actually happened to the Hyksos, not the Hebrews, so claiming descent from Moses really doesn't mean that much since he seems to have stolen all the stories he wrote down (like the story of the flood copied from the Epic of Gilgamesh). At best he is a great self-promoter; at worst he was a hoaxer like Oded Golan. Some scholars, such as Sigmund Freud, have pointed out the obvious implausibilities on the Moses story and have sugge3sted that "Moses", an Egyptian word meaning "Prince" may have been another name for the heretic Pharaoh Akhenaten (Amenhotep IV), and the story of the Exodus a highly romanticized telling of his attempted return from exile, with the usual spin so that failure to reclaim his throne is sold to later generations as a symbolic victory.

President Obama’s Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan is perfect in every way – perfect that is if you think the role of the highest judicial body in the United States is to ban free speech, indefinitely detain Americans without trial, resurrect command and control socialism, while urinating on everything the Constitution stands for.

We already discovered Kagan’s penchant for treating Americans as guilty until proven innocent, or in fact just plain guilty without even the chance to be proven innocent, when she was quoted as saying, “That someone suspected of helping finance Al Qaeda should be subject to battlefield law — indefinite detention without a trial — even if he were captured in a place like the Philippines rather than a physical battle zone.”

Archaeologist: Muslim prayer room may have been found at dig site

An Israeli archaeologist said Sunday that what could be a Islamic prayer room was found at the site of the Mugrabi ramp in the Old City of Jerusalem, where excavation work has sparked angry protests by Muslims who say that the work endangers the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Muslim leaders and critics of the work said the announcement of the find, three years after it was discovered, confirmed their fears that the Antiquities Authority is intent on hiding Muslim attachment to the site.

Allawi Warns of New Civil War on Iraq’s Deadliest Day

The election squabble is still far from over, but Allawi seems destined to return to the opposition as the second and third place finishers, both Shi’ite religious blocs, have merged into a dominant power.

Allawi today warned that sectarian tensions are on the rise, and that Iraq could soon face a new civil war. Iraqiya was a secular bloc, but relied mostly on Sunni voters for its narrow victory, setting the stage for yet another battle between Sunnis and Shi’ites.

IAEA Promises Not to Compare Israeli Nukes to Iran’s Civil Program

While Israel is a non-signatory of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and possesses one of the world’s largest undeclared nuclear arsenals, Iran has only a modest civilian enrichment program which is under intense IAEA scrutiny at all times. The IAEA is continually able to verify the non-diversion of Iranian nuclear material to weapons purposes, the same has never been true of Israel.

Officials insist the IAEA position on Israel has not changed, though what exactly that position is remains unclear. They also say, contrary to reports, that Israel was discussed in IAEA meetings before, but was removed from the agenda of those meetings for some reason.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Someone at the IAEA, apparently, was "handed the memo" not to discuss Israel's nuclear weapons program.

Rig Survivors Felt Coerced To Sign Waivers

Hours after they had been rescued, workers who survived an explosion on an oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico were asked to sign form letters about what they had seen and whether they had been injured.

Lawyers for the oil rig's owner, Transocean, requested that workers who had survived the blast sign the form in the wake of the April 20 blowout on the Deepwater Horizon. This was hours before the workers had been allowed to see their families.

Now some of those survivors say they were coerced and that the forms are being used against them as they file lawsuits seeking compensation for psychiatric problems and other injuries from the blast.

Clinton: Pakistan Officials ‘Harboring’ Bin Laden

In perhaps the clearest signal yet that tensions between the US and Pakistan are on the rise, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has accused unnamed parties in Pakistan’s government of harboring al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.

“I’m not saying that they’re at the highest levels, but I believe that somewhere in this government are people who know where Usama bin Laden and Al Qaeda is, where Mullah Omar and the leadership of the Afghan Taliban is, and we expect more cooperation to help us bring to justice, capture or kill those who attacked us on 9/11,” Clinton warned.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Forgive me, but has US Secretary of State Clinton gone absolutely barking mad, to make this accusation?!? There is the 25th Amendment in the US Constitution to deal with Presidents who can no longer fulfill their obligations; but what does one do with a Secretary of State who has obviously gone off the deep end, saying a fond farewell to fact and logic?!?

Madame Secretary, the world knows that Bin Laden died a number of years ago. And since you desperately want to keep this preposterous myth going that he is alive, as a geopolitical "gotcha!" card to play against recalcitrant countries in the Middle East, , let me share with you and the world, his yet obituary one more time:

"Translation of Funeral Article in Egyptian Paper:
al-Wafd, Wednesday, December 26, 2001 Vol 15 No 4633

News of Bin Laden's Death
and Funeral 10 days ago

"Islamabad -
A prominent official in the Afghan Taleban movement announced yesterday the death of Osama bin Laden, the chief of al-Qa'da organization, stating that bin Laden suffered serious complications in the lungs and died a natural and quiet death. The official, who asked to remain anonymous, stated to The Observer of Pakistan that he had himself attended the funeral of bin Laden and saw his face prior to burial in Tora Bora 10 days ago. He mentioned that 30 of al-Qa'da fighters attended the burial as well as members of his family and some friends from the Taleban. In the farewell ceremony to his final rest guns were fired in the air. The official stated that it is difficult to pinpoint the burial location of bin Laden because according to the Wahhabi tradition no mark is left by the grave. He stressed that it is unlikely that the American forces would ever uncover any traces of bin Laden."

So please stop waving the dead guy, Madame Secretary: you are making yourself - and this country - look like consummate, blithering idiots!!

Israeli religious forces on the march

As the Israeli Palestinian 'peace process' marches in place, religious-Zionism is marching into the leadership of the Israeli army, rendering an improbable peace mission impossible.

If as expected their number continues to increase at the same rate, no future Israeli leader will be able to evacuate Jewish settlements in the context of a peace agreement.

The radicalisation of Israeli society and polity is evident not only in the most right wing government in the country's history, but also in the make up of its professional military.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Hubris, fueled by religious zeal, can overpower a government's collective capability for reason in a heartbeat, which is why it is so dangerous.

In this situation, such Israeli religio-nationalistic hubris could well fuel many regional wars which could trigger a true world war.

Israel to keep nuclear 'ambiguity'

Israel will keep up its longstanding policy of deliberate ambiguity over its nuclear programme, Defence Minister Ehud Barak said on Tuesday, adding that US support for the position remains unchanged.

"This is a good policy and there is no reason to change it. There is complete agreement with the United States on this question," Barak told army radio.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Memo to Ehud Barak: We, the American Taxpayers, understand that there is no such thing as Israel's alleged "nuclear ambiguity" because it is based on a lie, and lie spun again and again to bilk the American public out of 3 billion dollars annually.

The Symington Amendment forbids the US from giving any aid to a country with nuclear weapons which will not join the NNPT, or allow inspections of its nuclear sites.

As the world has known from the late 80s from the revelations of Mordechai Vanunu, coupled with the confirmation of both former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and former US President Carter, Israel has nuclear weapons. It refuses to sign the NNPT, and refuses to allow inspections of its nuclear sites.

Therefore, Israel is ineligible for any US aid whatsoever, which is why it continues to lie about its nuclear weapons, and the US government - at least to this point - continues shelling out the money, even though this is illegal under US law.

WHY DOES the professor believe that the two-state solution has become a fantasy? Because, in his opinion, most Israelis are not ready to make the “sacrifices” necessary for its implementation. The 480 thousand settlers in the West Bank and East Jerusalem have immense power. Many of them will offer armed resistance to any solution. Binyamin Netanyahu is not prepared to accept a Palestinian state. The Israeli public has shifted sharply to the right. No effective pro-peace party exists in Israel now. No leader of stature, who would be able to remove the settlers, can be seen. And most importantly: “Zionism’s core beliefs are deeply hostile to the very notion of a Palestinian state.”

If, as appears to be the case, our elections are routinely being rigged, then it cannot be argued that We The People either chose, or approved of, those officials who borrowed trillions of dollars without our permission and sought to enslave us to that debt.

In an atmosphere of doubt about the validity of the voting process, it cannot be assumed that the American people have actually voted for or approved of any of the government's actions and policies for the last 35 years. That includes a couple of wars and some $65 trillion in debt, and the $60,000 in interest payments alone each taxpayer has had to fork over since the 1960s.

Obama Said to Be Open to New Miranda Look

— David Axelrod, the top White House political adviser, said Monday that President Obama was amenable to Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr.’s call for a new law allowing interrogators to question terrorism suspects for lengthy periods without informing them of their rights.

Red Cross confirms 'second jail' at Bagram, Afghanistan

The US airbase at Bagram in Afghanistan contains a facility for detainees that is distinct from its main prison, the Red Cross has confirmed to the BBC.

Nine former prisoners have told the BBC that they were held in a separate building, and subjected to abuse.

Webmaster's Commentary:

There are numerous problems with torture of prisoners of war, aside from the fact that it is immoral, sadistic, and only gets the abused to say precisely what the torturers want them to say to get the torture to stop.

First, it does, for all practical intents and purposes, move the US out of any human rights accord to which it has ever been signatory.

Second, it means that no US citizen or public official can ever talk about how this country honors the values of human rights ever again when it "honors" those rights in the breech of those rights, and not the observance.

And third, when the US tortures prisoners of war, it gives hostile countries carte blanche to do the same to our soldiers or civilians upon capture.

Chew on that last one for a while, particularly if you have family or friends currently serving in the US military.

Is The Greek Debt Crisis Being Purposely Hyped And Manipulated?

The Greek spirit of resistance turns its guns on the IMF

Years of national denial about looming bankruptcy have turned to resentment as Greece is told how it must tackle its debt crisis.

Webmaster's Commentary:

There was no denial among the Greek people. They, like Americans, have sounded the warning about the government's reckless spending habits for decades. Government did not want to listen. And the government, having spent itself into ruin, falls back on the old canard of "We spent that money and now we must pay it back."

Except that "we" didn't spend any of that money. The government spent it, and as illustrated by TARP did so without the permission of the American people, then laughed at the taxpayers' woes!

What the Greek people are saying, what the Portuguese people are saying, what the Spanish people are saying, what the Icelanders are saying, what the American people should be saying is that the government borrowed itself into a hole without the permission of the people, so why should the people be in any was liable for those debts?

America prides itself on being a free society. If we truly are free then we have the freedom to say "no". There is no freedom without the freedom to say "no!"

No taxpayer alive now ever voted or otherwise agreed to allow the government to borrow money on their behalf and agreed to underwrite the resultant ruinous interest obligation. No citizen spent that money. The government spent it, to give to Israel, to spend on wars of conquest, to bail out Wall Street, to bail out Europe, and so forth.

The Federal Reserve Act (Otherwise known as the currency act) was voted into law December 23, 1913. The people who voted in that law are all dead. Those of us alive today are stuck with a monetary system not of our own choosing, and certainly not that with which this nation was founded.

No taxpayer alive today had anything to say about repaying any money the government borrowed. We did not have any choice in the matter. We did not choose to accept this obligation. It has been forced on us. It was manufactured for us.

Certainly the young people who are becoming voters and taxpayers this year have had no say at all about the multi-trillion dollar debt that our government hands to them and says, "This thou shalt pay". To so encumber our children without their permission is at best indentured servitude; at the worst outright slavery.

Is is time for the slaves to rebel.

The absence of an acoustical regulator -- a remotely triggered dead man's switch that might have closed off BP's gushing pipe at its sea floor wellhead when the manual switch failed (the fire and explosion on the drilling platform may have prevented the dying workers from pushing the button) -- was directly attributable to industry pandering by the Bush team. Throughout the history of British parliamentary democracy, as elsewhere in the world, it could be argued that the extent of real “people power” was always a limited discretionary right that was ultimately subordinate to the over-riding interests of the ruling class.

But what has become more apparent from this latest British non-election is that the choice people make on their ballot sheets now pointedly has no bearing whatsoever on how they are to be governed.

Tellingly, this is a trend that is seen elsewhere in Europe and North America. Governments and parties of all political shades, whether red or blue, left or right, are falling over themselves to implement austerity budgets that will hit the mass of ordinary people hardest. Job cuts, wage cuts, social welfare cuts, public service cuts now form an unquestioned consensus among mainstream political parties. All have declared, in effect, that the imperative is to placate the financial oligarchy with trillion-dollar bailouts, thus enriching this elite further while deepening the misery of the majority.

David Swanson, Did You Say $33 Billion?

As it turns out, however, not everyone is quite as enthusiastic about the surge as Washington. NATO allies have not provided the expected number of trainers for the Afghan police and military in the expected period of surge time. They're dragging their feet over a war that is far less popular and more controversial in Europe than here. Because the almost hopeless task of standing up a vast, effective Afghan military (which that impoverished country has no way of affording) and an incorruptible police force (an oxymoron when it comes to Afghanistan) is considered so crucial to Washington's war strategy, the Pentagon has stepped in. Secretary of Defense Robert Gates recently announced a further micro-surge. It seems that 850 U.S.

Pakistani with bomb residue on hands arrested in Chile

A 28-year-old Pakistani man with explosive residue on his hands was arrested at the U.S. Embassy in Chile, national police said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Setting aside the problem with false-positives in the commonly used explosives residue tests, one wonders how it is that the US embassy is swabbing the hands of everyone who shows up for a VISA application considering that a real terrorist probably would not bother assembling the bomb until AFTER he knew he got the VISA!

The Ever More Pervasive Darkness of this World

The U.S. experienced a major attack on 9/11/2001. The perpetrators were identified as Arabs who were members of Al Qaeda. Across the span of time to this moment it has been conclusively proven in the minds of those who do want to know that it was actually carried out by Israel and obliging members of various security forces. It has also been proven in the words of high level intelligence operatives that there is no Al Qaeda.

Vitamin D deficiency linked to tuberculosis

Research that shows how a lack of vitamin D can increase people's susceptibility to tuberculosis (TB) could explain why people in Africa and other parts of the developing world are particularly prone to the disease.

The findings, published yesterday (23 February) by Science, suggest that vitamin D supplements could be used to fight the disease. TB kills two million people a year, mostly in developing countries.

The study shows that a successful immune response to TB depends on the conversion of vitamin D into a hormone that white blood cells use to kill the invading bacteria.

Terminal cancer patients spend final days suffering from radiation therapy that does nothing

A new analysis just published in the journal Cancer concludes that a significant proportion of terminally ill cancer patients spend most of their final days and weeks subjected to grueling radiation therapy (radiotherapy). What makes this extra heartbreaking and downright outrageous is that irradiating dying cancer patients does absolutely nothing for the vast majority -- except to cause more end-of-life suffering and to keep countless people in the hospital, instead of allowing them to die at home.

Obama’s Supreme Pick Kagan Is A Bankster Operative

Is Kagan independent? Hardly. She is a bankster operative.
Kagan sat on a Goldman Sachs advisory council between 2005 and 2008. It was her job to offer “analysis and advice to Goldman Sachs and its clients.”But it is not merely Goldman. It’s also Kagan’s connection to Larry Summers, the former Undersecretary for International Affairs in the Clinton administration and chief economist at the notorious loan sharking and poverty creation machine, the World Bank. Summers also worked in 2006-2008 for a derivatives firm, D.E. Shaw and was paid around five million dollars.
It was Summers and his so-conspirator Robert Rubin that facilitated the destruction of the Glass-Steagall Act designed during the last Great Depression to erect a firewall between commercial and investment banking.

Euro-Bankers Demand of Greece

The wealthy won’t pay their taxes, so labor must do so.

Riddle: How are the Greek rioters like America’s Tea Party movement?
Answer: Both reject government being taken over by the financial oligarchy to shift the tax burden onto labor.

The difference is that the Tea Partiers have lost faith in government. This is just what the financial oligarchy wants, of course. Giving up hope of gaining electoral control to pursue a fair fiscal agenda, the Tea Partiers have abandoned the centuries-long fight for reform to make governments better by giving them the power to check predatory finance and wealth. Sliding to the right wing of the political spectrum and acting mainly out of frustration, they have succumbed to a utopian desire simply to shrink a government that they see acting adversely to their interests.

Iran – The innocent victim of US/UK/NATO aggression

What the military did not tell us was the fact that in addition to these weapons (that contained DU) the US dropped a nuclear weapon to the east of Basra (close to the border with Iran). We have to understand that whatever our respective governments tell us, these weapons are certainly not conventional and therefore constitute as being WMD’s.

How can the actions in Iraq and Afghanistan cause major problems in Iran? The answer is very simple…….the aerosol contamination from such weapons are totally indiscriminate and therefore do not identify international borders. The drift on the wind across borders and eventually reach the four corners of the globe.

This is now a fact, not “theory” or conjecture.

Pedophiles and Popes: Doing the Vatican Shuffle

In 2001, a French bishop was convicted in France for refusing to hand over to the police a priest who had raped children. It recently came to light that a former top Vatican cardinal, Dario Castrillón, had written to the bishop, "I congratulate you for not denouncing a priest to the civil authorities. You have acted well, and I am pleased to have a colleague in the episcopate who, in the eyes of history and of all the bishops in the world, preferred prison to denouncing his ‘son' and priest." (The bishop actually got off with a suspended sentence.) Castrillón claimed that Pope John Paul II had authorized the letter years ago and had told him to send it to bishops around the world. (New York Times, 4/22/2010.)

There are many more like Cardinal Law and Cardinal Castrillón in the hierarchy, aging men who have no life experience with children and show not the slightest regard or empathy for them. They claim it their duty to protect the "unborn child" but offer no protection to the children in their schools and parishes.

Palin And The Religious Right: A Trojan Horse In The GOP

With failing numbers, damaged credibility, waning political influence and the lack of any platform, conservatives have left a vacuum in their own party to be exploited. The voice of conservative Independents, Republicans and Libertarians has been stolen. Political ideology has been infused with fundamentalist religious theology with the hope of garnering additional votes. The result has been internal division, further loss of credibility, and the abdication of responsible political discourse. The productive and necessary views and desires of non-religious libertarians and conservatives have been silenced in favour of the media friendly, accidentally-comic hyperbole of the entertainingly ridiculous rhetoric of Palin, Beck, et al.
