The REAL stats: Shadowstats Hyperinflation Report (Update 2010)

Subscribe at Shadowstats.com

The U.S. economic and systemic solvency crises of the last two years are just precursors to a Great Collapse: a hyperinflationary great depression. Such will reflect a complete collapse in the purchasing power of the U.S. dollar, a collapse in the normal stream of U.S. commercial and economic activity, a collapse in the U.S. financial system as we know it, and a likely realignment of the U.S. political environment. The current U.S. financial markets, financial system and economy remain highly unstable and vulnerable to unexpected shocks.

Climategate Investigation A Monumental Whitewash

A Parliamentary investigation into the climategate scandal has cleared the scientists involved of any data fixing and subversion of the peer review process, and notes that the scandal provides no evidence to challenge the notion that human activity is causing catastrophic global warming.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This "investigation" took all of one day and consisted of letting the Hadley CRU scientists make up any nonsense they wanted, such as the claim that "Hide the decline" is science-speak for getting rid of erroneous data. (It isn't!)

I would be tempted to dismiss this as an April Fool's day joke but I think the reality is that the government of Great Britain is as desperate to get their hands on carbon-tax revenues as the US Government, coupled with the fact that governments are operating just like the Vatican these days, in that they presume an aura of infallibility which does not allow one to ever admit error.

The Vatican Hotline Outrage

The Roman Catholic Church is the last place victims of predator priests should turn to. That, according to victims, is how the church got into this mess in the first place. And it’s why victims’ groups are outraged by a new church-sponsored hotline for victims to report alleged crimes.

“Victims should tell loved ones and police first,” said David Clohessy of the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests, known as SNAP. “Calling the church should be a last resort.”

CLIMATEGATE - Carbon Emissionaries

In 2005, the European Union (EU) put into place a carbon trading scheme. Prices for carbon permits promptly plunged, and have remained depressed since then. The price for a permit to emit a tonne of CO2 went from 21.59 Euros in 2005, to 17.28 in 2006, to 0.68 in 2007, to 2.16 in 2008, to 13.03 in 2009. Today, however, you will be glad to know that some academics declared the scheme a resounding success …

Lawyers representing an alleged victim of sex abuse claim the Vatican instructed church officials in Florida to shelter a priest from Cuba who was later accused of pedophilia.

Attorney Jessica Arbour, who represents an alleged victim of the Rev. Ernesto Garcia-Rubio, released a 1968 letter from the Vatican to the Archdiocese of Miami, stating the cleric had been forced to leave Cuba "because of serious difficulties of a moral nature (homosexuality)."

Arbour contends that the wording of the letter was used at the time as code for pedophilia, though archdiocese officials disputed that.

Human Caused Global Warming is not being researched; it is being promoted. Al Gore and his fellow investors have spent over a hundred million dollars in creating a crisis of human-caused global warming out of (quite literally) thin air. They are not doing this out of the goodness of their hearts. They expect to reap billions in profits from the trading of Carbon Credits, a "license to pollute" available for a price and subject to brokerage fees. One of the people Al Gore relied on to create this scheme was Ken Lay, late of ENRON, aka the Crooked "E". Al Gore plans to use Carbon Dioxide to do to the world what Ken Lay did to California using electricity; loot the people!

Pedophilia in the Catholic Church: Coverup Operation at the Vatican?

Pope Benedict should do everyone a favor and resign. By hanging on, he's just making matters worse. Who does he think he's fooling anyway? Everyone knows that he was involved in the sex-scandal cover up. Does he really think that a few papal apologies will make a difference? He was in charge and knew everything that was going on. That makes him responsible. His best option now is to "man up" and face the consequences. He needs to arrange a press conference, tell the truth, and resign. End of story.

The bottom line is that people's lives have been ruined and someone has to pay.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The current ploy of attempting to make the Pope immune from lawsuits is pathetic, and utterly irresponsible.

'Hedge Fund' Took Them for $8M, Family Says

A family says three men ran a bogus hedge fund that cheated them of $8 million. They say the Black Card Group may never have existed at all, that if it did exist it's in default, and that its directors, Ethan Conrad, Frank Sim and Harrold Pressly, spent their money on luxury vehicles and resort property.

Five members of the Urata family say Conrad told them that "the real estate market was getting soft, that he had formed a hedge fund that was earning 3 percent a month and that Charles Urata should put his money in the fund instead of real estate." He told Urata that he had put his own money into the fund, which "was exclusive ... was available just for friends ... [and] that it was a 'no brainer'; that it was really safe."

Pacified Populations

If the U.S. public looked long and hard into a mirror reflecting the civilian atrocities that have occurred in Afghanistan over the past 10 months, we would see ourselves as people who have collaborated with and paid for war crimes committed against innocent civilians who meant us no harm.

Two reporters, Jerome Starkey of the Times UK and David Lindorff of Counterpunch.org, have persistently drawn attention to U.S. war crimes committed in Afghanistan. Makers of the film Rethink Afghanistan have steadily provided updates about the suffering endured by Afghan civilians. Here is a short list of atrocities that have occurred in the months since Gen. McChrystal assumed his post in Afghanistan.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The people of Afghanistan do not "...hate us for our freedoms"; they hate us because we are murdering their wives, husbands, brothers, and sisters.

The invasion and occupation of Afghanistan was to have brought about two outcomes, one of which has already been accomplished, and that was control over the drug trade, from which so many profit so handsomely.

The second was "pacifying" the Afghan people to the point where pipelines could be installed with which to control Eurasian oil.
That goal, nearly nine years on, has yet to be achieved, and may well never be achieved.

If the US Pentagon and state department employed people with any degree of intelligence whatsoever, they should have the US declare victory, go home, and negotiate with whatever government is left standing in Kabul. Please remember; as late as August of 2001, the Bush administration was negotiating with the Taliban regarding the pipeline rights, but felt that the Taliban's offer was "too high".

Apparently, the price of our kid's lives claimed in the invasion and occupation of Afghanistan was "cheaper" for both the Bush, and now the Obama administration.

Blood in the Vatican: A Fresh look at the Swiss Guard Murders

But the following year rumours began to leak out that there was more to this than met the eye. Had Estermann been a spy in the Vatican for the Stasi, the East German secret police before the collapse of Communism? Certainly such espionage went on in both camps. Was Estermann a sodomite? Was there a third gunman? The Vatican stuck to its version and denied the infuriated Italian police access on grounds that the Vatican was extra-territorial. A copy of the lengthy Vatican Bolletino 55/99 released on the 8th February 1999 lies before the author and stands firm for the “fit of madness” explanation.

Fox Nation Punks Itself with Global Warming “News” Story

Plenty of Americans across the country are against the current Federal Government. The Oath Keepers are trying to hold America accountable to the laws set forth by the constitution. Their leader Stewart Rhodes says that the group is critical of both parties and expects the law enforcement agencies to uphold the constitutions laws.

“Our President Is Deceiving the American Public”

"Well, for years now, really since we set out to go into Iraq on much the same kinds of lies in 2002 that sent us into Vietnam when I was in the Pentagon, since then, I’ve been saying to officials in the government, “Don’t do what I did. Do what I wish I had done in ’63 or ’64, before we had entered the war, before the bombs had fallen. Don’t wait, as I did, ’til we were in the war and the war was essentially unstoppable, before telling the truth about the hopelessness, understood within the government, and the impossibility—the unlikelihood of any kind of victory there. But do it now.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Iraq is a basket case, and we are losing in Afghanistan.

The only question is when the "Saigon Moment" will come in the history of the US occupation of Afghanistan, and how much more blood and treasure will be spent before this illegal and immoral war has finished.

The next war we must stop before it starts is a war against Iran.

Because if this war begins, I wouldn't bet against Russia and China joining the fray in behalf of Iran; and Russia and China do have nuclear weapons.

Police: Teaching Kids to Mistrust Government Makes Couple ‘Unsuitable’ Parents

Texans, beware: If you teach your kids that the “government is out to harm them,” police in Williamson County might just deem you an “unsuitable” parent.

Massachusetts Court Stops H&R Block, Option One Foreclosures

People unfairly lured into a subprime mortgage shouldn't lose their homes to foreclosure. That's the ruling of a Massachusetts Appeals Court, in affirming an injunction blocking Option One Mortgage Corporation and H&R Block Mortgage Corporation from initiating foreclosure proceedings.

The preliminary injunction prohibits the two firms from initiating or advancing foreclosures on mortgage loans that the court found to be "presumptively unfair." Under the order, which affects up to 9,700 Massachusetts loans originated by Option One, AHMSI must give the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office advance notice before it intends to foreclose on any such loan, and if the Attorney General objects, obtain approval from the Court before foreclosing on a loan.

Swedish Pension Giant Shuns Israeli Arms Maker

The biggest Swedish pension fund said Monday it had barred Israeli arms maker Elbit Systems from its investment portfolios on ethical grounds.

"The Ethical Council recommended that Elbit Systems Ltd should be excluded from each portfolio because it deems that the company can be linked to violations of fundamental conventions and norms," it said in a statement.

Bishop says 'vast' tally of sexual abuse yet to emerge

THE Catholic Church has a turbulent future as probably a much smaller church in the West, with a ''vast amount'' of sexual abuse cases yet to emerge, according to a retired Australian bishop.

''The church is not going to fold up its tent and disappear, but there could be very dramatic changes'' as a result of the clergy abuse crisis, said Bishop Geoffrey Robinson.

For Years, Deaf Boys Tried to Tell of Priest’s Abuse

They told other priests. They told three archbishops of Milwaukee. They told two police departments and the district attorney. They used sign language, written affidavits and graphic gestures to show what exactly Father Murphy had done to them. But their reports fell on the deaf ears of hearing people.

This week, they learned that Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, now Pope Benedict XVI, received letters about Father Murphy in 1996 from Archbishop Rembert G. Weakland of Milwaukee, who said that the deaf community needed “a healing response from the Church.” The Vatican sat on the case, then equivocated, and when Father Murphy died in 1998, he died a priest.

Hundreds of cases of clerical abuse reported

There have been 566 reports of various kinds of abuse by clergy at the Catholic Church’s ombudsman’s offices this year, it was reported today (Tues).

Vienna archdiocese has had the highest number, 174, followed by Innsbruck diocese with 115. More than half of them can no longer be prosecuted because of the statute of limitations.

Cases of sexual abuse constitute 27 per cent of these, cases of violence 26 per cent. More than half of them require further investigation, according to the media.

Credibility gap: Pope needs to answer questions

The Holy Father needs to directly answer questions, in a credible forum, about his role -- as archbishop of Munich (1977-82), as prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (1982-2005), and as pope (2005-present) -- in the mismanagement of the clergy sex abuse crisis.

We urge this not primarily as journalists seeking a story, but as Catholics who appreciate that extraordinary circumstances require an extraordinary response. Nothing less than a full, personal and public accounting will begin to address the crisis that is engulfing the worldwide church. It is that serious.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The church is finished. There is no inquiry, no apology, no penitence that will erase the memory of what was done and how it was covered up, and both crime and cover-up are inconsistent with the professed existence of an all-powerful and all-knowing God who cares about the members of the church.

No matter how you try to spin and rationalize it, the prayers of all those parents to that God that their children should be safe from harm went unanswered. Ignored. Unheard. And if prayer has no effect on the universe, why pray? Why indeed go to church at all? If you want your children kept safe from harm quit wasting your time praying and keep the kids at home!
