UCLA fires professors for reporting real scientific data

James Enstrom, an epidemiologist at the UCLA School of Public Health, was recently fired, because his research "is not aligned with the academic mission of the Department [of Environmental Health Sciences]."

Enstrom's crime? Not finding evidence that supports increased regulation by the California Air Resources Board (CARB). He also pointed out that a prized supporter of CARB, Hien T. Tran, has a fake Ph. D. This is particularly embarrassing because in December 2008, CARB approved diesel emissions rules based on Tran’s findings.
