Obama veep team floats GOP name

Barack Obama's vice presidential search team has floated the name of a member of President Bush's first-term Cabinet, Agriculture Secretary Ann Veneman, as Obama's running mate.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Now this is interesting, because originally the VP slot went to the second place in the election, but since this was always someone from the opposing party this tended to create a situation where the President and the President of the Senate were often at odds with each other. This is why today's system is that the President and Vice President run together as a team from the same party. If Obama picks Veneman, it will be "interesting" to see what happens.
