FLASHBACK - Greenspan Urges Congress To Fuel Growth of Derivatives

The Federal Reserve chairman, Alan Greenspan, urged Congress today to encourage the growth of complex financial contracts known as derivatives before the United States share of that market and associated benefits are lost to other countries.

Back in 2000, Allen Greenspan pushed for greater freedom in the derivatives market, and today it is the $500 TRILLION derivatives that is the single greatest threat to the global economy.
