Ex-IDF chief: Israel can't avoid a military confrontation with Iran

Former Israel Defense Forces chief of staff Moshe "Boogie" Ya'alon on Sunday said Israel will not be able to avoid a military confrontation with Iran and called on the international community to stand up to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad like they did against Adolf Hitler and Nazi Germany.

"Today, we in the West are facing the same situation, the lack of decisiveness towards a threat that is no less severe than that which Hitler posed in 1939."

Webmaster's Commentary:

Memo to Former Israel Defense Force Chief of Staff Ya'alon: please, if you want to strike Iran, go ahead, just do it, all by yourself.

The US is very tired of being Israel's vengeful cop in the Middle East, and we have lost enough of our young men and women as sacrifices to your geopolitical goals.

But if you go ahead with an Israeli unilateral strike against Iran, there's a question the IDF needs to ask: what is Russia going to do, just stand by and let one of their largest trading partners get clobbered?

Israel at war with Russia? One just has to wonder how that would play out.
