U.S. lawmakers strike deal on housing rescue package

A major rescue package for the U.S. housing market is scheduled to come to a vote in the House of Representatives on Wednesday, after lawmakers agreed on the final language late on Tuesday.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This article couches the bill as "rescue" and tris to spin this as a positive, and no doubt for the mortage lending industry it is, but all this bill really does is raise the government debt ceiling to new heights, allows the government to borrow that extra money and hand it to Fannie May and Freddie Mac.

Guess who gets to pay it all back.
