US Navy cmdr dismisses Russia bombers as US threat

The commander of the U.S. Navy's Fourth Fleet said Thursday his forces were keeping an eye on Russian Blackjack bombers that have landed in Venezuela for training exercises — but he dismissed the deployment as a major challenge to the United States.

The arrival of Russian Tu-160 bombers was the first such deployment to the Western Hemisphere since the Cold War and seemed certain to further strain Russia's relations with the United States. It came after the U.S. sent warships to deliver aid to U.S.-allied Georgia after its war last month with Russia.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Russia realizes that Bush has worn down the military with all his drawn-out wars trying to steal other nations' oil, plus the US economy, with reduced manufacturing and decayed infrastructure, cannot sustain a major war. Our government of the rich, by the rich, and for the rich, has exhausted the workers to keep themselves in the lap of luxury, and unwilling to respect the people who built their towering temples to Mammon, shuns them because their sweat stinks, and seeks to control them through fear.

To the rest of the world, the decline of the US is obvious, and Russia is simply seizing the opportunity.
