Russia is deploying the threat to sell a "game changing" air defence system to Iran as a high stakes bargaining chip in its new "cold war" with America, The Sunday Telegraph has learned.
It is the US that is trying to start this new cold war, to justify higher taxes to spend on new weapons that will probably be used about as much as all the silos, subs, and bombers the previous generation got suckered into paying for.
Folks, don't get suckered into it. Back in the 1950s, when the US was the only nation that had not had their industrial base bombed into rubble, we could afford a useless luxury like a military-industrial complex. But the last cold war bankrupted and destroyed the USSR, and this time, the economic reality is reversed. Russia is an economic powerhouse, and the US is crippled with government debt.
This new cold war is a desperation play by a government that finally recognizes that the people no longer trust them. So, the plan is to go back to the "Golden age" when just by waving Russians at us, the government could rely on the unquestioning servitude of the American people.
