Russia, Georgia Near Accord on Monitors; NATO Strives for Unity

Russia and Georgia neared agreement for unarmed military observers to police a cease-fire, as NATO struggled for a common line on how to deal with a reassertive Russia.

Webmaster's Commentary: 

Left to their own devices, Georgia and Russia will figure out a way to make this work.

Unfortunately, it appears that NATO and the US are about to do everything possible to keep this from happening.
