US faults Russia for rising violence in Georgia

Russia's use of overwhelming military force against Georgia, including strategic bombers and ballistic missiles, is disproportionate to any threat from the former Soviet state and could escalate tensions in the volatile region, a senior U.S. official said Saturday.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Notice that this is completely unsourced by AP.

Also notice that there is absolutely no mention of the fact that 10 Russian peace-keepers were killed and 30 wounded in an attack against them (actually by whom, we do not know).

Notice that there is absolutely no mention of the fact that there are (and have been) US and Israeli "advisors" in Georgia.

Notice that there is no mention that Russia has stated that it wants Georgia to leave to its military positions to those prior to Georgia's invasion of South Ossetia as a condition for a cease-fire.
