Ohio Provides Newest Evidence Linking Fracking to Earthquakes

Kevin Samson
Activist Post

There has been an ongoing battle between researchers and the natural gas and oil industries over whether or not hydraulic fracturing (fracking) is definitively leading to an increase in earthquake activity.

In a recent article entitled "Oklahoma Breaking Records For Earthquake Activity - Fracking?" I presented evidence from the U.S. Army, U.S. Geological Survey, the Oklahoma Geological Survey and the Geological Society of America, which suggests that it is becoming conclusive that fracking causes earthquakes. Furthermore, studies also indicate that even when fracking is halted, earthquake activity can continue and earthquake magnitude can increase over time.

Ohio is already on the map as one of the 6 states where earthquakes are a new feature of reality. According to a new report, Ohio geologists are the latest to express concern over why earthquake activity is on the rise in regions where fracking has been taking place...

AFP PODCAST & ARTICLE: György Schwartz — The Man Behind the Mess in Ukraine

Anyone following the Ukrainian crisis in the reality-warping media comes away with this impression: The Ukrainian people, desperate for Western-style democracy, rose up and rebelled against their authoritarian president. Russia then invaded the Crimea in order to keep Ukraine under its iron grip.

The reality, however, is far from the spin peddled by the mainstream media and its globalist backers. The rebellion in Ukraine was orchestrated by Western bankers as part of a vicious chess game that pits Washington against Moscow. Putin did not invade Crimea, and in a referendum voted on March 16, 97% of Crimeans asked to be allowed to join Russia.

Dave Gahary spoke with reporter Pete Papaherakles, the author of this article, to learn more about what’s behind this story, in this informative interview (28:22).

Bundy, BLM reach deal to stop cattle roundup

Rancher Cliven Bundy demanded of sheriff Doug Gillespie that all narional park service employees working on the cattle roundup operation be disarmed before 10:45 a.m.

He gave Gillespie one hour to comply, and added for the firearms to be brought to him. The demand comes on the heels of the Bureau of Land Management pulling the plug on the roundup due to safety concerns.

“Based on information about conditions on the ground, and in consultation with law enforcement, we have made a decision to conclude the cattle gather because of our serious concern about the safety of employees and members of the public,” BLM director Neil Kornze said.

Many people in the crowd gathered in Bunkerville were demanding to know where the 500 already-gathered cattle currently are.

The Corporate Colonization of Afghanistan

Ulson Gunnar
Activist Post

A recent TIME Magazine article featured the “US NGO” Roots for Peace, which it portrayed as a victim of a regrouping Taliban bent on subjugating a newly “democratized” Afghanistan. This organization, funded by the US State Department and USAID, claims to be turning “battlefields into bountiful orchards.” But a lack of transparency makes it unclear as to just how they are doing this. With USAID using “aid” to usher in the corporate colonization of Afghanistan through other “NGOs,” its involvement with Roots for Peace raises warranted suspicions.

U.S. Threatens Russia with Sanctions Over Oil Deal with Iran

The United States is threatening Russia with more sanctions, not only over the situation in Ukraine but also over a possible oil deal between Moscow and Tehran.

Reuters reported that U.S. Treasury Secretary Jack Lew told his Russian counterpart on Thursday that any oil-for-goods deal Moscow might strike with Iran could run afoul of U.S. sanctions.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A memo to US Secretary of the Treasury Jack Lew (who obviously did NOT get the memo): The Russian Finance Minister has publicly stated today that Russia does not acknowledge US sanctions against Iran! Sorry to have to be the first to tell you, sir, but I thought somebody needed to! :-)

Russia only recognizes UN Security Council sanctions against Iran, not the United States’ own “Oil for Goods” deal, Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said after a meeting with US Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday. “The US Secretary of the Treasury informed us that they have information about the possible participation of our companies in trade ties with Iran for buying Iranian oil,” Siluanov said. “In this situation we are acting on the basis of decisions by the United Nations, which defines sanctions and groups of goods that will fall under the sanctions, and we are acting within the limits of the decisions approved by international organizations,” he added.

This move on Russia's part, sir, may get other UN members to follow suit. I don't know what might be playing on your Ipod right now, but I would suggest the theme from the movie "Exodous" might just be appropriate!

Feds threaten $75,000 a day fine against family that built pond on their own farm

Because of overreaching federal bureaucracy that constantly churns out conflicting and onerous regulations, it is becoming more and more difficult for landowners to use their own property in ways they see fit, even if they don't harm others or the environment.

As reported by Fox News, Wyoming welder and landowner Andy Johnson and his wife, Katie, just wanted to build a stock pond on their sprawling eight-acre farm. The two of them spent many hours digging and building, and when it was ready, they filled it with crystal-clear water, adding brook and brown trout, as well as ducks and geese.

It was also a pond from which their horses could drink while grazing, and it served, too, as a sort of private playground for their kids.

Nevada Cattle Rancher Wins 'Range War' With Feds

A Nevada cattle rancher appears to have won his week-long battle with the federal government over a controversial cattle roundup that had led to the arrest of several protesters.

Cliven Bundy went head to head with the Bureau of Land Management over the removal of hundreds of his cattle from federal land, where the government said they were grazing illegally.

However, today the BLM said it would not enforce a court order to remove the cattle and was pulling out of the area.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I would not pop the champagne corks just yet. As soon as the crowds leave the Bundy Ranch the BLM might just swoop in as quick as they can to kick him off, so We The People have to be the new Minutemen, ready to move in an instant to the defense of our fellow Americans threatened by the illegitimate and unconstitutional regime in Washington DC.

The good news is that the interview with one of the BLM Rangers, who admitted feeling ashamed over what he was being ordered to do, revealed that the government's stooges have little stomach to enforce the unconstitutional "laws" decreed by DC against an armed populace. And if it works at the Bundy Ranch, it can work at the local military recruiting offices, Obamacare facilities, and tax offices! In that context, this is a victory for We The People.

Turn of the Screw: The Cliven Bundy Standoff

Brandon Turbeville
Activist Post

With the situation heating up in Clark County, Nevada, a range of emotions have been expressed by those following the events taking place. These emotions vary widely depending upon one's worldview and political perspective, as most emotions do. For those successfully trained to believe that government is always right, Bundy is nothing more than another “right wing extremist” intent on destroying the social fabric of the United States and the ability of Federal government to function. To those who are more inclined to promote a culture of liberty and freedom, Bundy represents a potential martyr. Even more so, to these individuals Bundy represents the possibility of another Waco or Ruby Ridge.

Like most tense situations, however, it is good practice to let cooler heads prevail and to analyze the events in an objective fashion before forming an opinion...

Soldiers stand by as Israeli settlers attack Palestinian school girls

Israeli settlers on Wednesday assaulted Palestinian school children in the southern West Bank, a school official said.

A school principal told Ma'an that a group of extremist Israeli settlers hurled stones at school girls in the village of al-Tuwani, leaving them bruised.

Israeli soldiers stood by and watched without taking action as the settlers threw rocks, the principal said.

The girls who sustained injuries were identified as Kifah Omar Abu Jundiyya and Dalal Awad Zein, both seventh graders.

In al-Tuwani and other areas in the southern Hebron district, school children on a daily basis wait at checkpoints for Israeli soldiers to let them through locked gates.

Regardless of Israeli military presence, settler attacks on children en route to and from school remain commonplace, the principal said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It is darkly, painfully ironic to me that the grandchildren of Holocaust survivors believe it is perfectly OK, and completely moral, to wound Palestinian children going to school.

One has to wonder what they would do to these children if they had weapons more sophisticated than rocks.

UN Accepts Palestinians’ Bid to Join 13 International Bodies

A bid by Palestinian Authority Chief Mahmoud Abbas to join international conventions for supporting Palestinians’ rights against Israel violations has been accepted by the United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.

On Thursday, UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric said Ban had verified that the PA’s applications to join 13 international conventions were made “in due and proper form.”

Ban also informed all 193 UN member states of his decision to accept the Palestinian applications, according to the UN official.

The Israeli-PA talks reached a new deadlock when the Tel Aviv regime refused to free the last tranche of 104 Palestinian prisoners in late March according to a deal for the resumption of US-sponsored negotiations.

Regime’s defiance to halt its illegal settlement activities in occupied lands were also another cause of the talks’ failure.

Doctor Doom & The Fiat Money Empire

Almost openly now, the long-running attempt to kick the price of gold down, and keep it down to Save the Money and stoke further frenzied and unreal price growth of equities has overreached. The fiat money empire is more threatened, today, than for decades and the train has hit the buffers. Speaking on CNBC this week, the veteran market expert Marc Faber often ridiculed by business media as a Doctor Doom who always exaggerates was given more respect than he normally gets. There were no you-said-it-before jibes when he said a 1987-style “pure financial” market crash is coming. Leading the way, he said, the insanely-overpriced Internet and Biotech stocks will be the first to go. Apart from what he called “cloud cuckoo” stock and asset prices, the basic upstream trigger are the antics of the US Fed, which like other central banks has upped the ante to the point where, Faber said, anybody can see the Fed is a “clueless organization”.

Scores of children killed, crippled by explosives left by US, NATO in Afghanistan

After 13 years of war, the US military and allies will leave thousands of square miles of unexploded grenades and other ordnance littered around Afghanistan. In recent years, most casualties from unattended explosives have been children, the UN found.

The United States and NATO forces have used 240 high-explosives ranges in Afghanistan since 2001, according to the Washington Post. One top range, for example, is 120 square miles, or about twice the size of Washington, DC.

The US will be responsible for cleaning 73 of those sites, which come out to around 800 square miles, US officials told the Post. This effort will cost about US$250 million. US officials say that each range has thousands of undetonated explosives.

Half of the total 240 ranges will be transferred to the Afghan army, and 40 belong to international coalition forces whose countries will be on the hook for cleanup.

Webmaster's Commentary:

TSA Ignores Audit, Expands Behavior Screening Program

Last year, the Government Accountability Office urged the TSA to pare back, if not entirely eliminate, their “behavior screening” program, saying there was no evidence it worked, and dubbing it a “waste of money.”

At the time the TSA’s leadership seemed to be taking the message to heart, with TSA chief John Pistole admitting that the program had never caught a single terrorist.

Today, it seems the whole thing went in one ear and out the other, as the latest reports out of Congress say that not only did the TSA not cut the program after GAO told them to, they actually kept expanding it.

HANNITY: The feds don’t even own the land Bundy’s cattle have been grazing on, it’s STATE PROPERTY

This is getting ridiculous. Hannity reported on Greta tonight that the land the BLM has taken over to capture Bundy’s cattle is STATE property, not federal property, and that BLM is using the Endangered Species Act to control it. He also says there’s no eminent domain at work here and this land where Bundy’s cattle are grazing isn’t going to be used by anybody for anything:

Webmaster's Commentary:

Hannity has some of this right and some of it wrong. He is correct that the land is owned by the state, not the Federal Government. But he missed mentioning that the BLM is itself exterminating the very tortoises they cited as justification for limiting Bundy's cattle back in 1993. and Hannity is apparently unaware that one of Harry Reid's (illegal) campaign donors, Harvey Whittemore, who has plans to commercially develop that land.

Apr 12 09:41

The Real Story Behind The Bundy Ranch Harassment

A tortoise isn’t the reason why BLM is harassing a 67 year-old rancher. They want his land. The tortoise wasn’t of concern when Harry Reid worked BLM to literally change the boundaries of the tortoise’s habitat to accommodate the development of his top donor, Harvey Whittemore. Whittemore was convicted of illegal campaign contributions to Senator Reid. Reid’s former senior adviser is now the head of BLM. Reid is accused of using the new BLM chief as a puppet to control Nevada land (already over 84% of which is owned by the federal government) and pay back special interests. BLM has proven that they’ve a situational concern for the desert tortoise as they’ve had no problem waiving their rules concerning wind or solar power development. Clearly these developments have vastly affected a tortoise habitat more than a century-old, quasi-homesteading grazing area. If only Clive Bundy were a big Reid donor.

Al-Qaeda Seizes Anbar Dam, Floods Out Troops Near Fallujah

Al-Qaeda in Iraq (AQI) is continuing to expand its gains in the Anbar Province, seizing a strategically valuable dam on the Euphrates river, giving them considerable control of Iraq’s water supply.

Underscoring just how valuable a prize the dam is, the militants closed a series of flood gates last week, flooding the area along the river being used by the Iraqi military as a staging area for an offensive against AQI-held Fallujah, and forcing the troops to retreat.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Don't you just love, for all the blood and money spent, how beautifully "democracy" is working in Iraq?!?

What we are seeing right now is the bitter, ugly fruit growing from the US government's invasion and occupation of this country.

There is a Biblical injunction, "That which you sow, you shall also reap." There will be a point in time when there will be a cosmic collective punishment of the US for Americans allowing themselves to have been lied into this horrific war.

The American people need to be far more skeptical of their government, and think critically and logically before the US government attempts to lie us into yet another war (which, trust me, will most probably be very soon).

And then, peacefully, the people of this country need to stand up and say, "No, thank you: we understand that wars are economic, and make huge profits for the banks which loan to both sides, at interest."

"We will not send our sons and daughters to be maimed for life or killed outright for private corporate profit. If you want soldiers, send your own sons and daughters, or those of the banking class. Perhaps the world will have fewer wars, and of shorter duration, when that becomes the case; it only seems fair."

Israeli minister urges Netanyahu to annex settlements

A senior Israeli minister has urged Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to annex a swathe of Jewish settlements in the occupied West Bank, saying peace talks with the Palestinians were dead.

The U.S.-backed negotiations came close to collapse last week amidst mutual recrimination and although the two sides are seeking to overcome the crisis, Netanyahu has already started to impose punitive sanctions on the Palestinians.

Economy Minister Naftali Bennett, who is head of the ultra-nationalist Jewish Home party, wrote to the prime minister late on Wednesday saying Israel should extend its sovereign territory to a number of major settlement blocs.

Mega settlements, such as Ma'ale Adumin, are built on land seized in the 1967 war - territory the Palestinians want for their future state. Successive governments have said the blocs, deemed illegal under international law, should remain part of Israel in any negotiated deal with the Palestinians.

Social Security, Treasury target Americans for their parents' old debts

Many Americans expecting to see their tax refunds in their bank accounts soon are waking up to a very different scenario: the government actively intercepting their checks in order to pay back debts they’re not responsible for.

According to a new report in the Washington Post, the federal government is seizing nearly $2 billion from hundreds of thousands of taxpayers this year in order to settle debts, some incurred by their parents, some dating back to more than a decade.

This process has been ongoing since 2011, when a revision in the farm bill passed by Congress removed the 10-tear statute of limitations on debts owed to the United States. Since that bill was passed, the government has collected $424 million on debts older than a decade. This year, however, has seen the Social Security Administration (SSA) alone claim that 400,000 Americans owe a total of $714 million in debts older than 10 years.

Webmaster's Commentary:

With his Nevada ranch surrounded by helicopters, four-wheel-drive vehicles and an estimated 200 armed officers of the federal Bureau of Land Management, Cliven Bundy is drawing support from the governor and other prominent political leaders along with a host of protesters from other states, including fellow cattle ranchers and private armed militias.

At least three people have been arrested, and militias have made the confrontation over Bundy’s use of federal land for grazing a rally cry.

My great grandpa bought the rights to the Bunkerville allotment back in 1887 around there. Then he sold them to my grandpa who then turned them over to my dad in 1972.

These men bought and paid for their rights to the range and also built waters, fences and roads to assure the survival of their cattle, all with their own money, not with tax dollars.

These rights to the land use is called preemptive rights.

Some where down the line, to keep the cows from over grazing, came the bureau of land management. They were supposed to assist the ranchers in the management of their ranges while the ranchers paid a yearly allotment which was to be use to pay the BLM wages and to help with repairs and improvements of the ranches.

My dad did pay his grazing fees for years to the BLM until they were no longer using his fees to help him and to improve.

Instead they began using these money’s against the ranchers.

State Department Again Denies Presence of US Mercenaries in Ukraine

Claims that a private US security company has sent mercenaries to Ukraine are untrue, US Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland has said.

The security company denied such accusations in a phone conversation, Nuland said before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, without naming the company.

Russian media earlier reported that mercenaries of US private military company Greystone Limited were involved in the recent crackdown on pro-federalization protestors in eastern Ukraine. According to the firm’s official statement obtained by RIA Novosti, its employees did not take part in the events, and there are no plans to deploy anyone to the region.

Webmaster's Commentary:

With so utterly little credibility the US State Department has at this moment, I would tend to believe that reports of US private security units in the Ukraine are most probably true.

IF President Obama were to knock on my door, and declare the sun was shining, I would feel morally obliged to walk outside and see for myself.

FLASHBACK - Government plans to euthanize hundreds of desert tortoises after budget cuts to refuge

Webmaster's Commentary:

Back in 1993, the BLM arbitrarily changed the grazing agreement that Cliven Bundy was paying for, limiting the number of cattle he could graze on land that the BLM had stolen from his ancestors to just 150 head, ostensibly to protect the endangered tortoise. But the BLM demanded the same grazing fees as before. Cliven refused to pay the same fees for less grazing and took the BLM to court, where the case has lingered for 20 years, until the BLM unilaterally decided to act in a court order without allowing an appeal, which has led to the current standoff. So imagine how Clivan must be feeling as we learn that the BLM is itself killing off those same tortoises due to lack of funding!

The Federal Bureau of Incompetence

evin Cullen of the Boston Globe, who is the best cityside columnist in American newspapers, pretty much has had it with the FBI. Actually, he pretty much had it with the FBI while covering how the Boston office of the Feebs ran camouflage for the murderous Whitey Bulger for couple of decades. But he further has had it because, as was revealed during the congressional hearings into the Boston Marathon bombings and the subsequent firefight and search, the FBI may have had information about Tamerlan Tsarnaev that it declined to share with local authorities, and that it has been banging its own drum on television about how the FBI cracked the case.

New Study Showing Glyphosate Found in Mothers' Breast Milk

“For years Monsanto has claimed that glyphosate, the key active ingredient in its Roundup-brand herbicide is ‘safe’ because the human body excretes it,” said Ronnie Cummins, national director of the OCA. “This pilot study is the first of its kind to prove that Monsanto is wrong. In fact, this preliminary study shows that glyphosate accumulates in our bodies, and mothers are now passing the toxin on to their infants via breast milk.”

Results of the pilot study, conducted by Moms Across America and Sustainable Pulse, with support from Environmental Arts & Research, were released today. While the numbers are small, they are alarming. The study revealed that the levels found in the breast milk of American women were found to be 760 to 1600 times higher than the European Drinking Water Directive allows for individual pesticides (Glyphosate is both a pesticide and herbicide), but less than the 700 ug/l maximum contaminant level (MCL) for glyphosate in the U.S.

The EPA, arguing that glyphosate is not bio-accumulative, recently raised the limits for the amount of glyphosate residue allowed on human food.

Texas militia heading to Nevada

Webmaster's Commentary:

I do not encourage violence. However it is clear that the Federal Government intends to use violence to enforce its unconstitutional wishes against the Bundys, in order to please political cronies. If enough people show up, the government may back down rather than risk open conflict with the people they might lose before the eyes of the world. But if indeed the government creates a bloody mess at the Bundy Ranch in the hopes of teaching us uppity slaves a lesson, they will still lose, for the Federal Government will have destroyed their own legitimacy and moral authority. Again before the eyes of the world. This is a no-win situation either way and the only thing the federal Government can control is the final body count. The real danger is that we already know from Obamacare and Human-Caused Global Warming that the federal Government is institutionally incapable of admitting error or changing course. From the phone calls and emails I am receiving, it appears Americans are at the breaking point, and open conflict at the Bundy ranch could very easily spark nationwide riots that would extend beyond what the Federal Government could control.

Syria Poison Gas Attack: Rebels, Government Blame Each Other

Syrian government media and rebel forces said Saturday that poison gas had been used in a central village, injuring scores of people, while blaming each other for the attack.

The main Western-backed opposition group, the Syrian National Coalition, said the poison gas attack Friday hurt dozens of people in the village of Kfar Zeita in the central province of Hama. It did not say what type of gas was used.

The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that people suffered from suffocation and breathing problems after the attack, apparently conducted during air raids that left heavy smoke over the area. It gave no further details.

State-run Syrian television blamed members of the al-Qaida-linked Nusra Front for using chlorine gas at Kfar Zeita, killing two people and injuring more than 100.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The US government is supporting horrific acts by rebels against the Syrian people, because they are driven by both desperation, and timing.

If Al-Assad stands for re-election, and does get re-elected in what observers characterize as a "relatively free and fair election", the "official" US rationale for ousting him will shatter.

And elections are due to be held this July, so the US doesn't have much time left.

Utah county orders round up of federally-protected wild horses to protect local ranchers

A Utah county, angry over the destruction of federal rangeland that ranchers use to graze cattle, has started a bid to round up federally protected wild horses it blames for the problem in the latest dustup over land management in the U.S. West.

Close to 2,000 wild horses are roaming southern Utah’s Iron County, well over the 300 the U.S. Bureau of Land Management has dubbed as appropriate for the rural area’s nine designated herd management zones, County Commissioner David Miller said.

BLM Action in Nevada is Unconstitutional, Here’s Why

It is the BLM, not Cliven Bundy, who is in violation of the law and the Constitution, specifically Article 1, Section 8, Clause 17 of the Constitution.

The clause, known as the Enclave Clause, authorizes Congress to purchase, own and control land in a state under specific and limited conditions, namely “for the erection of forts, magazines, arsenals, dockyards, and other needful buildings,” and not, as the feds now insist, to protect an endangered tortoise.

The Founders were opposed to providing a centralized federal government with unlimited authority to purchase and, as is routinely the case today, seize state and private land.

Harvard study: Your share of the federal debt is $106,000

American workers would have to cough up a one-time “debt reduction fee” of $106,000 to pay off the nation's debt that has grown 58 percent under President Obama, according to Harvard University's Institute of Politics annual report on the USA.

The 91-page report provided to Secrets pegged the nation’s debt at $16.7 trillion, up from the $10.6 trillion inherited by Obama. “The debt has grown so quickly because of large and repeated annual deficits in federal spending,” said the report.

What's more, the Annual Report of the USA, from the student at the Harvard Political Review and done in partnership with the American Education Foundation, found that food stamp usage has surged 77 percent during the recession and that Social Security benefits will be slashed 23 percent starting in 2033 unless Congress and the White House institute sweeping reforms.

Profits from its mortgage business stood at $114m, down $559m from last year.

NATO’s Russian troop build-up satellite images ‘show 2013 drills’

The satellite images released by NATO that allegedly show a current build-up of Russian troops near Ukrainian border were taken in August 2013 amid military drills, a source in the General Staff of the Russian Army has said.

NATO’s top military commander in Europe, General Philip Breedlove, on Wednesday claimed that there is evidence of what he says are 40,000 Russian troops on the border with Ukraine, tweeting a link to satellite images.

The images, some of them colored and some black and white, appear to show multiple Russian tanks, helicopters, fighter jets and a “special forces brigade” with locations and dates added to them. The dates marked range from March 22 to March 27, 2014. Another image not available on the original webpage but used by some Western media has “April 2, 2014” stamped on it.

Man who predicted 1987 stock market crash and the Great Recession claims another crash is months away

The man who predicted the 1987 stock market crash and the recent global economic recession believes the worst crash in decades will take place later in the next 12 months.

Dr Marc Faber, a Swiss investor and the author of the Gloom, Boom & Doom Report, said the cause of the crash would be overvaluing of companies within the internet and biotechnology sectors – thought to include the $400billion valuation of Google, and the $100billion valuation of Facebook.

He also said the market was also beginning to wake up to the idea that the U.S. Federal Reserve is a ‘clueless organisation’ – something he says is starting to affect confidence levels in investors.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The FED isn't clueless. The problem is that the FED, like all of Wall Street and Washington DC, refuse to look at the root of the problem.

When you have a privately-owned central bank issuing all of the currency as a loan at interest, by design the debt grows faster than the available money supply. That is why every nation enslaved to such a private central bank is now drowning in hopelessly unpayable debt, whether it is the FED, the ECB, the IMF, the World Bank, etc. None of these private central banks or the financial systems and governments dependent on them will ever admit to the reality of this intentional debt-enslavement, so all that they do is just for show to convince the people something is being done ... without actually challenging the core of the system. Inevitably, such window-dressing policies fail and the enforced looting of the people to try to keep the books balanced proceeds unhindered, making governments and financial systems look incompetent, when they are merely acting like the money-junkies they are.

Despite popular belief, every culture of every nation draws a line in the sand against government tyranny. The problem is, many draw this line so close to total defeat that it rarely matters. Perhaps hindsight is 20/20, but clearly too many freedom movements throughout history waited too long to respond to the trespasses of oligarchs.

Federal government seizes $424 million in tax refunds from children to pay back old debts owed by their PARENTS

Hundreds of thousands of U.S. citizens are getting shocking letters in their mailboxes instead of tax refund checks – nastygrams informing them that the federal government has seized their money to repay debts their parents decades-old debts that they never settled.

Webmaster's Commentary:

When debt becomes hereditary, the people become slaves.

There is no legal basis for holding children responsible for debts of parents from before they were born or while they were children. Just as there is no legal basis for holding Americans responsible for the artificially created debt resulting from the creation of the federal Reserve system long before they were born and could choose whether they wanted to accept living under the very same banking system this nation fought a revolution to break free of.

The invention from Arturo Vittori, an industrial designer, and his colleague Andreas Vogler doesn't involve complicated gadgetry or feats of engineering, but instead relies on basic elements like shape and material and the ways in which they work together.

Why the Standoff at the Bundy Ranch is a Very Big Deal

If you haven’t been following the unfolding drama at the Bundy Ranch about 80 miles northeast of Las Vegas you need to start now. The escalating confrontation between irate local residents and federal agents of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has the potential to take a very dangerous turn for the worse at any moment, as hundreds of militia members from states across the country are expected to descend upon the area and make a stand with 67-year-old Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy.

Webmaster's Commentary:

As a Christian and a pacifist, I would never advocate violence.

That having been said, however, I fear deeply that the BLM is about to visit great violence on Cliven Bundy and his family, to prove that they can, and get away with such violence with impunity.

There has been a "no fly" zone imposed on this area of Nevada, and cell tower service has been cut. That means that the Feds are desperately trying to insure that no images of what is about to go down will get out to the general public.

FLASHBACK - U.S. Senator Reid, son combine for China firm's desert plant

U.S. Senator Harry Reid recognized nine years ago that connections between his official duties and the lobbying activities of his relatives could lead to ethical questions.

In 2003, the Nevada Democrat publicly banned relatives from lobbying him or his staff after newspaper reports showed that Nevada industries and institutions routinely turned to Reid's sons or son-in-law for representation.

Now, questions surrounding family ties are flaring again in Nevada around the Senate majority leader. He and his oldest son, Rory, are both involved in an effort by a Chinese energy giant, ENN Energy Group, to build a $5 billion solar farm and panel manufacturing plant in the southern Nevada desert.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Hence the use of BLM to kick people off their land so it can be sold (in this particular case) for about 10% of its assessed value.

Experts cast worried eye on Ebola spread

Virologists say they are deeply worried by the unprecedented Ebola epidemic in West Africa, which has claimed more than 90 lives and may now also have struck north into the Sahel.

A rare but extremely dangerous virus, Ebola is historically rooted in Central Africa, although it has also caused past outbreaks in Uganda to the east.

Except for a nonfatal case in Cote d’Ivoire in 1994, when a lab researcher was infected while examining a dead chimp, Ebola had not previously been found in the west of the continent.

How it got there is puzzling experts.

Jimmy Carter: U.S. Shouldn’t Bomb Iran Even If They Get a Nuclear Weapon

Former President Jimmy Carter joined MSNBC’s Chris Matthews for an interview on Hardball Wednesday and made some news by saying he does not think the United States should bomb Iran even if they were to succeed in building an operational nuclear weapon. This statement differs not only from recent comments made by former Vice President Dick Cheney but also from the stated position of President Barack Obama.

“I never have felt that Israel had a capability militarily to go 1,200 miles or more and bomb Iran effectively and then return back to Israel,” said of Cheney’s suggestion that Israel could attack Iran unilaterally. “The only country on earth that has that capability would be the United States, and i don’t believe it’s appropriate for the United States to bomb Iran over this issue.”

Israel's seizure of EU-funded aid projects prompts compensation calls - Guardian

Israel has seized three EU-funded humanitarian aid projects on the edge of a settlement construction zone that Europe views as a "red line", spurring demands for compensation payments to Brussels at a crisis moment for John Kerry's attempts to broker a Middle East peace deal.

The three humanitarian aid shelters were dismantled on 8 April in Ras-a-Baba, also known as Jabal-al-Baba, which lies in the E1 corridor of the West Bank, linking the settlement of Ma'ale Adumim to Jerusalem.

All three shelters were prefabricated caravans, built for families made homeless in severe storms that hit the region in December. They were funded by the EU's humanitarian aid wing, DG Echo, and some were provided by the French development agency, Action contre la Faim.

Junk food to blame for weight gain and laziness, says UCLA study

It isn’t always a fair characterization and inactivity in the obese is often attributed to a variety of factors, not the least of which being their physical health and abilities. However, a new study published in the journal Physiology and Behavior indicates the very foods that lead to obesity could also cause laziness, showing obesity and inactivity are more complexly linked than previously thought.

The Bureau of Land Management, whose director was Sen. Dallas police insist filming cops 'a major safety issue' for civilians

Dallas police officers, including the union that represents them, are asking citizens organized to keep watch over cops with recording devices to stop filming law enforcement because it is causing unspecified “major safety issue[s].”

In late 2012, the US Supreme Court upheld a citizen’s right to record police officers performing their official duties.

Thus, some Dallas officers have been notified by “an email,” according to CBS-DFW, that citizens are acting lawfully by filming police action.

You Can’t Eat Gold… But It’s Portable, Easy To Trade and Confiscation-Proof

What it all boils down to is owning assets of (real) value. Much of this is dependent on our individual means, but the overall strategy should be similar for everyone: diversification. This can mean long-term food stores, bartering supplies, skills development, acquisition of productive land or, in the case outlined by Daniel below, owning mechanisms of exchange that have been tried and tested for centuries across the entire globe.

Whatever your approach, consider the points Daniel highlights below as you build your own collapse insurance stockpiles. Though his article focuses on gold and silver as future currencies in the event of a US dollar crash, your other supplies should have a similar elasticity and desirability in the (underground) marketplace.

Swedish ISP Bahnhof Deletes All User Records, Stops Retaining Data Following Court Of Justice Ruling

Swedish ISP Bahnhof has long been a supporter of keeping its customers' data private. Five years ago, we wrote about its decision to delete user log files to avoid having to rat out users under Sweden's draconian IPRED law (which required ISPs to hand over info on users accused of copyright infringement). However, various data retention laws were put in place to stop that sort of thing two years ago. So, it's not too surprising that, following the ruling this week in the EU Court of Justice that found the EU's data retention directive invalid, the ISP has acted swiftly to delete all user records and to cease collecting and retaining any more information.

BLM fracking racket exposed! Armed siege and cattle theft from Bundy ranch really about fracking leases

The Bureau of Land Management says its 200-man armed siege of the Cliven Bundy ranch in Nevada is all about protecting an "endangered tortoise." But a Natural News investigation has found that BLM is actually in the business of raking in millions of dollars by leasing Nevada lands to energy companies that engage in fracking operations.

This document from the Nevada Bureau of Mines and Geology(1) shows significant exploratory drilling being conducted in precisely the same area where the Bundy family has been running cattle since the 1870's. The "Gold Butte" area is indicated on the lower right corner of the document (see below), and it clearly shows numerous exploratory drilling operations have been conducted there.

FLASHBACK - Harry Reid’s toxic influence on politics

There are few politicians more cavalier with the truth and more loathsome than Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. He calls the brothers, who provide jobs and legally participate in the American political system, “un-American.” His self-enrichment in Nevada is legendary, and he reportedly has been under investigation in a corruption probe.

Affluenza Teen's Parents to Pay Only $1,170 a Month for Rehab that Costs $22,500 a Month

Poor little rich boy Ethan Couch is back in the news again.

You may recall the horrible case last year in which the boy from a wealthy family was prosecuted for drunkenly mowing down and killing pedestrians while flinging two of the passengers from his truck. Using the "affluenza" defense, it was said that young Ethan could not be sent to jail for his actions because he was just too darned rich to be punished. An attempt a couple of months later to prosecute him for a related crime reaped no better results, and punishment that included time behind bars was still not forthcoming.

Ethan was sentenced to rehab and the public was assured that his parents would be footing the bill for the swanky facility.

BLOCKBUSTER: Straight from a rancher's mouth

The BLM was going to sell the cattle at one of the smallest cattle markets in Utah. No cattle markets in Nevada would take the cattle without a properly signed brand inspection (which the BLM cannot obtain without Cliven Bundy's signature). The BLM paid the owner of the Utah cattle market $300,000 to do the sale ('R' Livestock Connection in Monroe, Utah, owned by one Scott G. Robbins, according to the Utah Business Entity Search). Utah Governor Herbert stepped in and forbid them from bringing the cattle into Utah without the legally required health and brand inspections (which again, require Bundy's signature) and that no feral cattle are allowed to be imported at all (per Utah statute). Because Bundy claims ownership over maybe 350-500 head of branded cattle, the other 500-700 estimated head of cattle would all be considered feral.
