Brazil under CIA Pressure

The activities of non-government organizations are not restricted in any way; their members have close ties with US embassy and consulate staff, as well as USAID workers. The human intelligence is used to discredit the policy of the Dilma Rousseff government. The lies about its ineffectiveness are spread around by all available means. «Experts» forecast collapse in case the President wins another term. They disseminate dubious results of «rating polls» that complicate the vision of reality.

Over two thousand Brazilian political activists, intellectuals, people of art and culture signed a manifest on October 26 highlighting the hostile actions of Washington aimed at prevention of Dilma Rousseff election victory.

Philip Giraldi: Stopping Cyber Hate

ADL has recently been meeting in California with a British group called the Inter-Parliamentary Coalition for Combating Anti-Semitism, which included the Community Security Trust (CST). The CST advocates physical response to anti-Semitic incidents, to include the equipping and training of organized “self-defense” forces. CST is controversial in the UK, partly because many British Jews believe they are adequately protected by the police. It has also been criticized because its Director is the highest paid head of any Jewish organization in the country and its finances are alleged to be non-transparent.

An article entitled “Web giants unite to fight online hate” described the purpose of the California meeting. It reported that a “game changing” agreement was reached with Twitter, Facebook, Google and Microsoft to take steps to stop “the proliferation of racist and abusive comments” and to “force racism and hatred from the web.”

Libya: From Africa’s Richest State Under Gaddafi, to Failed State After NATO Intervention

snip: A decade of failed military expeditions in the Middle East has left the American people in trillions of dollars of debt. However, one group has benefited immensely from the costly and deadly wars: America’s Military-Industrial-Complex.

Building new military bases means billions of dollars for America’s military elite. As Will Blum has pointed out, following the bombing of Iraq, the United States built new bases in Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Oman and Saudi Arabia.

Following the bombing of Afghanistan, the United States is now building military bases in Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.

Following the recent bombing of Libya, the United States has built new military bases in the Seychelles, Kenya, South Sudan, Niger and Burkina Faso.

Harper's Foreign Policy Confirms Orwell's Insights

Regarding Israel, Harper, with widespread support in the media, has gone so far as to try to establish criticism of Israel as a kind of Orwellian "thought crime." By declaring repeatedly (and even threatening supportive legislation) that criticism of Israel was anti-Semitic, Harper hoped to establish what Orwell referred to as "protective stupidity" -- a kind of mass denial of the obvious. Freud referred to it as "knowing with not knowing" and when it comes to most of Canada's military adventures, it is epidemic.

Libya: From Africa’s Richest State Under Gaddafi, to Failed State After NATO Intervention

This week marks the three-year anniversary of the Western-backed assassination of Libya’s former president, Muammar Gaddafi, and the fall of one of Africa’s greatest nations.

In 1967 Colonel Gaddafi inherited one of the poorest nations in Africa; however, by the time he was assassinated, Gaddafi had turned Libya into Africa’s wealthiest nation. Libya had the highest GDP per capita and life expectancy on the continent. Less people lived below the poverty line than in the Netherlands.

After NATO’s intervention in 2011, Libya is now a failed state and its economy is in shambles. As the government’s control slips through their fingers and into to the militia fighters’ hands, oil production has all but stopped.

Webmaster's Commentary:

When I was 16, my parents bought me a nice bicycle with which to ride to school. Brand new, shiny, lots of chrome, and all the gadgets. Without intending to I had what was clearly the nicest bike in the neighborhood. So, some other kids grabbed the bike one day and smashed it up, and while I was able to repair it, the remaining dents and scratches made it appear inferior to the bikes ridden by those other boys. Now, you expect that sort of behavior from 16 year old boys, but it appears the governments of the US and EU, unable to actually make their nations great while in slavery to the private central banks, have hit on the idea of stealing other peoples' nations and smashing them up, in order to go on claiming that they, the US and EU, are the greatest nations remaining on Earth. That does not say very much about the governments we allow to rule us.

With support for the BDS Movement growing globally from organized labour, the potential economic threat to the Zionist regime is staggering

Washington Admits: FSA Equals Fictitious Syrian Army

US President Barack Obama hosted a top-level war council this past week in Washington with the military leaders from 21 countries in attendance – under the official remit of coordinating tactics to defeat the Islamic State extremist group in Syria and Iraq.

Hold on a minute. Congress has approved $500 million to train a new cohort of the supposedly moderate and secular Free Syrian Army; and Saudi Arabia and Turkey are providing bases for that undertaking. But at Obama’s seminal war council on «coordinating» plans there was not one representative from the much-vaunted moderate rebels who are assigned this crucial military role.

Terror-scaremongering designed to erode freedoms, stamp out dissent

As expected, the recent fabricated ISIS terror scare that swept the headlines of Canada’s Zionist-owned media is being used by the neocon regime in Ottawa to give Canada’s spy agency CSIS more sweeping powers to spy on citizens and protect the identities of informants.

“The federal government will face intense scrutiny – perhaps even a constitutional challenge – when it introduces legislation to give its spies more legal powers,” reported the Ottawa Citizen.

An Egyptian Intervention in Libya

Two Egyptian officials claimed the country’s warplanes had begun bombing positions in Benghazi, the second-largest city in neighboring Libya, on Wednesday, in an attempt to wrest control of the city from the Ansar-al-Sharia Islamist militia. The mission, which will be led by Libyan pilots, marks the highest-profile collaboration between the two North African countries, both of which are beset by instability, since they experienced simultaneous Arab Spring revolutions in 2011. The Egyptian government has officially denied the news.

According to the Associated Press, the mission is slated to last three to six months and will “eventually involve Libyan ground troops recently trained by Egyptian forces.”

On Oct. 3, the new Swedish prime minister had announced his government’s intention to recognize the State of Palestine, thereby joining the 134 other UN member states, encompassing the vast majority of mankind, which have already done so.

Europe should not stop there.Imagine that all of the 20 European Union states which have not yet recognized the State of Palestine were to do so and that the EU were then to announce that, if Israel did not comply with international law and relevant UN resolutions by withdrawing fully from the occupied State of Palestine by a specified date, it would impose economic sanctions on Israel and intensify them until Israel did so.

New Horizon Conference: Meeting of Minds in Tehran

The 2nd conference “New Horizon: the International Conference of Independent Thinkers” was held in Tehran, September 29–October 1 2014, including over 30 journalists, writers and academics from around the world presenting papers and arguing issues of world geopolitics, with a focus on the Middle East.

Contrary to the shrill cries in the western media that the conference was anti-Semitic, it was unique in my experience in addressing Zionism and US imperialism forthrightly and intelligently, without a hint of racism. The issue of anti-Semitism was addressed and dismissed, as “There is no issue with Jewish people or the Jewish religion,” explained Darya-Bandari, “but rather with Zionism, that secular distortion of Judaism that itself is racist, and has been used as a pretext to dispossess and kill Palestinians.”

Pepe Escobar: What’s the deal between Iran and the US?

I’ve just spent a frantic week in Tehran as a guest of the New Horizon conference of Independent Thinkers. Here is some of what I’ve witnessed.
Three overarching themes monopolize all important discussions in Tehran at this critical historical juncture:

1) the real possibility of a nuclear deal with the P5+1 on November 24;
2) the end of sanctions and the possibility of Iran soon starting to supply the EU with loads of natural gas;
3) the fight against ISIS/ISIL, which Iranians, as much as the Arab street, refer to as Daesh.

I was quite moved by the profound respect shown to Gareth’s investigative work in Tehran, in contrast to the thunderous wall of silence that greeted his book in the US. Call it yet another reflection of the 35-year old “wilderness of mirrors” – or Wall of Mistrust – opposing Washington to Tehran.

A Historic Vote on Palestine in the British Parliament

The idea of Israel is changing in the minds of its allies. It is no longer a cause. It is becoming heavy baggage.

This is not the effect of a larger Muslim community. All Britons today are more likely to be aware of the 14,000 settlements Israel approved during its nine month peace talks with the Palestinians; to wonder where a Palestinian state is going to go , with more than 600,000 settlers in occupied East Jerusalem and the West Bank; to acknowledge the insouciant racism of Israeli discourse about non-Jews; to recoil at the cost in Palestinian civilian lives of Israel’s definition of its own security.

The myth of Assad, ISIL and extremism

Joe Biden’s comments last week linking US Mideast allies to the funding and arming of ISIL, Al Nusra & Al Qaeda were preceded by a surprising number of similar comments by current and former western officials in the past month. In her latest offering at RT’s Op-Edge, Ms. Narwani examines two secret US documents that tell a different story altogether.

Is Obama Being Threatened by US Hawks with ‘Security Risks’?

Is there something more significant to the rash of disclosures than mere incompetence among the president’s security detail? Are powerful people within the US government perhaps trying to send Obama a grim warning?

We should bear in mind that the US-led military intervention in Iraq and Syria and the growing confrontation with Russia over Ukraine seem to have entered a critical phase. The US military-industrial complex is pushing for a full-scale and relentless intervention in the Middle East, as well as ever-increasing tensions over Ukraine by goading the reactionary Kiev regime into antagonizing Russia.

With billions of dollars at stake from arms sales, business reports have noted that America’s top weapons companies, such as Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman and Raytheon, are soaring in their stock market values. Every fighter jet sortie in Iraq and Syria, every missile launched, every warship despatched to the Black Sea is rallying stupendous profits for these companies.

Libya Takes Goldman Sachs to Court to Recover $1.2 Billion from a Series of Derivatives Trades

Libya’s sovereign wealth fund took Goldman Sachs to court in London on Monday to recover $1.2 billion from a series of derivatives trades made during Muammar Gaddafi’s regime.

The Libyan Investment Authority claims that its international inexperience and a relationship of trust with the bank was “exploited” by Goldman Sachs, which disputes the allegations.

The Wall Street bank allegedly made $350 million in up-front profits from the trades, although the deals were rendered worthless for the LIA when they matured in 2011.

US Air Raids: The Unlearned Lesson of Libya

In 2011 NATO air strikes against Libya that were carried out under the pretext of the urgent need of protecting civilians from a “violent dictator“, cleared the road to power for radical militants. Three years ago, once Muammar Gaddafi had been brutally murdered in October 2011, these militants took over Libya by filling the vacuum created by foreign intervention. From that moment on the country had been plunged deeper into bloodshed created by the former revolutionaries as they cut each other’s throats in a fight for rich oil-producing regions.

Spinning in the Grave: Western Media Dig Dirt to Cover Kiev’s Atrocities

Yes, there certainly has been «blatantly false reporting» in Ukraine – by Western mainstream news media, which have consistently failed to convey the extent of violence perpetrated by the Kiev regime against the Russian-speaking population in eastern Ukraine.

The Western media went into supercilious mode this week over evidence of atrocities and mass graves in eastern Ukraine committed by the Kiev regime.
Rather than dealing with disturbing facts that point to the Western-backed regime’s culpability in war crimes, Western media tried instead to divert the focus by claiming that «pro-Kremlin» Russian news outlets were guilty of crude propaganda.

Middle East geopolitical analyst, Sharmine Narwani, examines the breathtaking admission by US Vice President Joe Biden that America’s Sunni coalition partners have funded and armed ISIL & Co. Less mentioned are Biden’s comments that there are no “moderates” among Syria’s opposition fighters. The only moderates inside that country, he stresses, are “shopkeepers, not soldiers.”

Biden may be known to often put his foot in his mouth, but this time he has done the world a favor, notes Ms. Narwani.

Libya Islamists unleash another offensive on Benghazi airport

Islamist fighters launched another offensive Wednesday on the airport in Libya's Benghazi, the final redoubt in the eastern city of an ex-general who has been waging war on them, an AFP correspondent said.

The fighters of the Shura Revolutionary Council, which includes the Islamist Ansar al-Sharia group, have been trying since early September to capture the facility, which houses both civilian and military airfields.

Oil-rich Libya slid into chaos after Moamer Kadhafi was toppled in a NATO-backed uprising three years ago, with interim authorities confronting powerful militias that fought to oust the veteran dictator.

Following the allegation by a former State Department bigwig on Sunday that then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's staff may have obstructed justice by "sorting" documents regarding the Benghazi terrorist attack that were to be turned over to the Accountability Review Board (ARB), the Clinton political machine and her sycophants are jumping to her defense, according to several news and commentary websites.

According to an Examiner news story, the ARB was investigating the alleged missteps by the Obama administration especially those by the State Department, and Clinton's top aides were allegedly told to set aside any documents that would hurt her politically so that they were never turned over to ARB investigators.

Hillary Clinton’s minions launched a weekend operation in the basement of the State Department to scrub damning documents related to the Benghazi attacks that killed a US Ambassador, a top former official has charged.

Then-Deputy Assistant Secretary Raymond Maxwell said he walked in uninvited to the Sunday afternoon scene a month after the Sept. 11, 2012 terrorist strike to find several boxes of papers — and immediately asked an office director what was happening.

“She told me, ‘Ray, we are to go through these stacks and pull out anything that might put anybody in the [Near Eastern Affairs] front office or the seventh floor in a bad light,’” Maxwell told The Daily Signal, the news outlet for the conservative Heritage Foundation.

The seventh floor is where Clinton — then Secretary of State — and her top advisers had offices.

The American Establishment Combats Resurgent “Isolationist” Threat

It had become apparent in 2013 that the American people had grown averse to America’s involvement in wars, and this was given empirical confirmation by a poll conducted by the Pew Research Center in November 2013, which revealed that 51 percent of Americans believed that their country’s military involvement was excessive.[1] Once again the bugaboo of isolationism entered the mainstream spotlight, the derogatory label being attached to those who would like to cut back America’s global intervention.[2] Opposition to the alleged resurgent isolationism united all sectors of the mainstream establishment–liberals, moderates, and conservatives, the ultra-interventionist neoconservatives and the more moderate traditional foreign policy establishment.

Lessons of Libya cast shadow on Syria strategy

Almost three years after the overthrow of Moammar Gadhafi, oil-rich Libya is in utter chaos, as militias fight for control of the country and its elected government has fled along with tens of thousands of citizens.

The turmoil in Libya is a cautionary tale as the United States enlists the help of moderate Syrian rebels to defeat the radical Islamic State and oust Syrian President Bashar Assad.

The Covert Origins of ISIS

Now after Gaddafi was overthrown, the Libyan armories were looted, and massive quantities of weapons were sent by the Libyan rebels to Syria. The weapons, which included anti-tank and anti-aircraft missiles were smuggled into Syria through Turkey, a NATO ally. The times of London reported on the arrival of the shipment on September 14th, 2012. (Secondary confirmation in this NYT article) This was just three days after Ambassador Chris Stevens was killed by the attack on the U.S. embassy in Benghazi. Chris Stevens had served as the U.S. government's liaison to the Libyan rebels since April of 2011.

What is going on in Libya is a repeat of Iran in 1979, when the people of Iran kicked out their US puppet rulers and took back their country. Libya has already formed a new government, mostly from the people removed from office during the US invasion. The parliament-in-a-ferry is a government in name only, waiting for the US to invade and restore them to power. The establishment of the Islamic State of Libya (ISL) is imminent

The “paper” government and the “paper” assembly are now squatting the coastal town Tobrouk, known for its airbase, with no power, no future prospects and no money. They have gone that far east for two basic reasons: to be close to Egypt to seek help to reconquer the country, but that seems to be rather a wishful thinking, and if all fails, find shelter in this country. But by being territorially in Libya, they are, quite rightly, clinging to the elusive hope that the West might come to their rescue and restore their legitimacy by the use of force. They might well do that because Libya is an oil-rich country and the Islamists cannot be entrusted with it, for obvious reasns. But, on the other hand, the West is not ready to commit troops to a land-based risky operation, that could ultimately be costly in human life.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The US government has no one but itself to blame for the current circumstances in Libya but itself.

By taking out Gaddafi in a military coup, and installing a puppet regime, much to the dislike and disgust of the Libyan people, the US government made it possible to create a vacuum where ISL could flourish; the same thing can be said of the US's invasion and occupation of Iraq.

Stupidity, on the part of our national leadership, should be painful.

The American people will NOT buy off on another invasion of Iraq, Libya, or an invasion of Syria.

And the invasion of Syria would be about taking out a friend to the Iranian government so that, if negotiations on Iran's nuclear program break down (which Israel is working very diligently to have happen), Iran can be invaded for yet another regime change.

However, Iran has a very close relationship with Russia. Invading Iran may well mean Russian military involvement, on Iran's side, in such a military misadventure.

One of the classic definitions of insanity is to do the same thing, in precisely the same way, yet expecting a different outcome; the US government and military appear to be hell-bent on installing puppet regimes around the world, yet are puzzled, and shocked, when the people of those countries want to take their countries back.

New Book Claims Top CIA Officer In Benghazi Told Commandos To 'Stand Down' During Attack

A new book titled "13 Hours" set for release on Sep. 9 cites five commandos who were guarding the CIA Annex in Benghazi, Libya with an explosive claim that the CIA Station Chief told them to "stand down" from any rescue attempt, The New York Times reports.

The book, written by Boston University journalism professor Mitchell Zuckoff, details the events of the Sep. 11, 2012 attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, which resulted in the deaths of Ambassador Chris Stevens, and CIA contractors Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty.

Islamist Militia Group Seizes US Embassy In Tripoli, Holds Pool Party

Probably the 'oddest' headline of the day but in yet another show of disdain towards US military might, the Islamist militia group known as "Dawn Of Libya" has 'secured' an annex of the U.S. embassy in Tripoli. As Reuters reports, the United States evacuated its embassy in Tripoli on July 26, driving diplomats across the border into Tunisia; but a YouTube video showed the breach of the vacated diplomatic facility by an armed group, with fighters seen milling around a swimming pool. A rebel takeover of the compound would now deliver another symbolic blow to U.S. policy toward Libya, which Western governments fear is teetering toward becoming a failed state.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Codswallop! After Gaddafi was executed, Libya is a failed state.

Remember how exultant this administration was right after Gaddafi was executed, and the US installed their own puppet government, putting Libya back on the dollar standard, which had been threatened by Gaddafi wanting to create a gold-backed dinar?!?

And Mr. President, do not even THINK about Americans signing off on a second invasion of Libya, considering how spectacularly horrifically the first one has finally gone.

Sir, your administration has reaped what it has sown, and that is an incontrovertible fact.

Former CIA contractor Steven Kelley says that the ISIL terrorist group is a completely fabricated enemy created and funded by the United States.

“This is a completely fabricated enemy,” he said in a phone interview with Press TV from Anaheim, California on Thursday.

“The funding is completely from the United States and its allies and for people to think that this enemy is something that needs to be attacked in Syria or Iraq is a farce because obviously this is something that we create it, we control and only now it has become inconvenient for us to attack this group as a legitimate enemy,” Kelley added.

He made the remarks as US President Barack Obama is under pressure to seek congressional approval before expanding Washington’s military air campaign against ISIL targets from Iraq into neighboring Syria.

Militia says it "secured" U.S. compound in Tripoli

An Islamist-allied militia group "secured" a U.S. Embassy residential compound in Libya's capital, more than a month after American personnel evacuated from the country over ongoing fighting, one of its commanders said Sunday.

US policies can result in next World War: American journalist

Washington’s policies can “explode the entire Middle East” and they can “result in the next World War,” an American political commentator says.

In an interview with Press TV on Monday, James Morris, editor of America-hijacked.com, said US military interventions in other countries, including the 2003 invasion of Iraq, have created brutal terrorist groups like ISIL.

ISIL “is the result of the failed US invasion of Iraq,” Morris said.

Libyan capital under Islamist control after Tripoli airport seized

Libya has lurched ever closer to fragmentation and civil war this weekend after Islamist-led militias seized the airport in the capital, Tripoli, proclaimed their own government, and presented the world with yet another crisis.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Although the corporate media can be counted on to fling around words like "Islamist" and "militant", what is really going on in Libya today is a repeat of Iran in 1979. The Libyan people are tired of their US puppet rulers and kicking them out, as is also happening right now in Iraq. The crisis is that all these invasions by the US over the last decade are actually about forcing the world to trade resources such as oil and metals only for the US dollar, from which the US gets a mafia-like "piece of the action" to prop up its collapsing economy. Such a deal is an all or nothing arrangement. No nation can be left to trade resources in currencies other than the dollar as other nations will buy from them as prices will be lower without the added percentage going to the US (either in products and produce given to the US for dollars or interest on dollars borrowed from the federal reserve). This is why the US is having to go back into Iraq for a third time, and will now have to go back into Libya. And why ultimately the US will start wars with Russia and China to remove the competition of the more attractive Ruble and Yuan. This is why young people are being killed and crippled across the globe right now; to prop up that paper dollar.

Libya’s parliament in UN plea for ‘international intervention’

Libya’s newly elected parliament has asked the United Nations to intervene as militia related violence rages across the country.

Amidst the worst violence since the 2011 ousting of Muammar Gaddafi, Libyan lawmakers met in the eastern port-city of Tobruk, which is away from the fighting going on in the capital Tripoli and in Libya’s second largest city Benghazi.

The MPs passed a vote by 111 out of 124 in favor from 124 MPs present asking the UN Security Council for help.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Libya is taking itself back from the installed US puppet regime. The US cannot sell a new invasion of Libya to the American people. They are having a tough time selling a new invasion of Iraq! So the US puppet regime is going to ask the United Nations to help them hang onto their stolen loot.

Washington Threatens The World — Paul Craig Roberts

The consequence of Washington’s reckless and irresponsible political and military interventions in Iraq, Libya, and Syria has been to unleash evil. The various sects that lived in peace under the rule of Saddam Hussein, Gaddafi, and Assad are butchering one another, and a new group, ISIS, is in the process of creating a new state out of parts of Iraq and Syria.

The turmoil brought into the Middle East by the Bush and Obama regimes has meant death and displacement for millions and untold future deaths. As I write 40,000 Iraqis are stranded on a mountain top without water awaiting death at the hands of ISIS, a creation of US meddling.

British navy evacuates nationals from Libya

A British navy ship has evacuated British nationals from Libya, the defence ministry said, as worsening security there is forcing thousands to flee.

The HMS Enterprise, which had been on a Mediterranean deployment, evacuated 110 people on Sunday, mostly British, from the capital Tripoli, ambassador to Libya Michael Aron wrote on Twitter.

"A number of passengers were transferred to Enterprise by boat and given supplies for the journey," the ministry said in a statement.

France evacuates French and British expats from Libya

The French government says it has evacuated French and British nationals from Libya, as battles rage between government forces and militias.

A French diplomatic source said 40 French nationals, including the ambassador, had been evacuated by ship along with seven British nationals.

France's embassy in Tripoli has been closed temporarily, the French foreign ministry said on its website.

Libya has been gripped by instability since the 2011 uprising.

Webmaster's Commentary:

There was no uprising in 2011. There was a US-sponsored overthrow of the government of Gaddafi, to end the threat of the Gold Dinar and force Libya to sell their oil only for US dollars. The Libyan people have decided to take their nation back from its US puppet ruler just as the people of Iraq are doing, and Iran did in 1979.

Still Torn by Factional Fighting, Post-Revolt Libya Is Coming Undone

For weeks, rival Libyan militias had been pounding one another’s positions with artillery, mortar rounds and rockets in a desperate fight to control the international airport in the capital, Tripoli. Then suddenly, early Saturday morning, the fighting just stopped.

The pause came as United States military warplanes circled overhead, providing air cover for a predawn evacuation of the American Embassy’s staff. Apparently fearing the planes, the militias held their fire just long enough for the ambassador and her staff to reach the Tunisian border — a reminder to Libyans of how even their most powerful allies were incapable of putting out their incendiary feuds.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What is really happening in Libya is a replay of what happened in Iran in 1979 and is also happening in Iraq. The people are tired of their imposed US puppet rulers and are taking their nation back. But this is a reality the New York Times (who assured us all that Saddam had nuclear weapons) dares not report.

US evacuates Libya embassy

The US has evacuated its Libyan embassy staff under air cover as they faced a "real risk" from fierce fighting around Tripoli airport.

The announcement came just hours after the country's interim government warned that the clashes between militia vying for control of the strategic airport were threatening to tear Libya apart.

It was around 5am on Saturday (local time) when the evacuation began, with the sky over the capital filled with the sound of military jets and helicopters.

Webmaster's Commentary:

America's war to force the world back onto Bretton-Woods and the Petro-dollar is already failing. The people of Libya are taking back their country from the US puppet regime. So are the people of Iraq. The US is barely clinging to Afghanistan, which is why Obama broke his promise to bring our kids home. These are repeats of Iran in 1979, when the Iranian people kicked out their US puppet ruler, the Shah.

The US is not following an exit strategy here for the simple reason they do not have one. The petro-dollar war, which seeks to force all the world's resources to be traded only for the US dollar, is an all or nothing deal. When the US loses it, as they clearly are, the US financial system, grown lazy and dependent on that mafia-like piece of the action they get from all global commerce, will collapse and take Washington DC with it. Somewhere between now and final capitulation, I expect DC will resort to their nuclear arsenal in a final strike against the Russian Ruble and the Chinese Yuan which are already displacing the US dollar in global trade and banking.

The money-junkies really #$%^ed up a good planet!

U.S. Embassy in Libya evacuates personnel

The U.S. Embassy in Libya evacuated its personnel on Saturday because of heavy militia violence raging in the capital, Tripoli, the State Department said.

About 150 personnel, including 80 U.S. Marines were evacuated from the embassy in the early hours of Saturday morning and were driven across the border into Tunisia, U.S. officials confirm to CNN.

U.S. officials stress that this is a relocation of embassy personnel and the operations have been "temporarily suspended" until "the security situation on the ground improves." The embassy will continue to operate from other locations.

Clashes in Libya’s Benghazi kill 16, injure 81

Clashes between Libyan army troops and anti-government militia groups in the eastern city of Benghazi have left 16 people dead and 81 injured.

“Most of the dead and injured are soldiers. Three civilians, including an Egyptian, were killed when a rocket hit their house,” AFP quoted a hospital source as saying.

Fighting broke out on Monday, when militants attacked an army base and clashed with government troops and forces loyal to retired General Khalifa Haftar. Haftar launched a military offensive in the country’s east on May 16, saying that he wants to crush the militants and “establish stability in Libya.”

Deteriorating security pushes UN to evacuate remaining staff from Libya

The United Nations announced Monday it was evacuating its remaining staff from Libya because of a deteriorating security situation, a day after deadly clashes closed the country's main airport.

"UNSMIL (United Nations Support Mission in Libya) temporarily withdrawing staff from Libya because of security situation," the mission, which already pulled out dozens of personnel last week, said in a statement.

"After the latest fighting on Sunday and because of the closure of Tripoli international airport, the mission concluded that it would not be possible to continue its work ... while at the same time ensuring the security and safety of its staff," it said.

Heavy fighting breaks out near Libya's Tripoli airport, seven dead

Heavy fighting broke out between rival militias vying for control of Libya's main airport on Sunday, killing at least seven people and forcing a halt of all flights in the worst fighting in the capital for six months.

Explosions and anti-aircraft gunfire were heard from early morning on the airport road and other parts of Tripoli until the situation seemed to calm down in the late afternoon.

Residents said that militiamen from the northwestern region of Zintan who had controlled the airport came under fire, and local TV footage suggested that the attacking rebels were from the western city of Misrata.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What is really going on is that the US puppet government installed after Gaddafi was killed (along with the Gold Dinar) has lost control of Libya and regardless of which faction finally seizes power, Libya will cease selling their oil only for the US dollar.

The US war to force the world back to Bretton-Woods and the Petro-dollar is already being lost.

Benghazi attack suspect Ahmed Abu Khattala pleads not guilty

A Libyan militia leader pleaded not guilty in a US federal court on Saturday to a terrorism charge in the 2012 attack on the US diplomatic compound in Benghazi that killed four Americans.

Webmaster's Commentary:

FOX News is reporting that Ahmed Abu Khattala has been cooperating with his FBI interrogators, but that he "has not been forthcoming", meaning he has not given them any information that actually links him to the attack in Benghazi.

This may well turn out to be yet another botched PR stunt by a desperate White House, akin to the Bowe Bergdahl affair. Big publicity splash about bringing the hero (or villain) to America, only to find out you don't quite have the hero (or villain) the White House thought they did!

Remember the disaster when Obama claimed he got Osama, realized they had killed the wrong guy, tossed the body into the ocean to prevent anyone from finding out, then flooded the internet with a batch of hastily done fake photos?

This is starting to look like more of the same.

U.S. Defends Prosecuting Benghazi Suspect in Civilian Rather Than Military Court

Conservative lawmakers on Tuesday sharply criticized the Obama administration’s decision to prosecute the suspected leader of the 2012 attack in Benghazi, Libya, in the civilian criminal justice system, arguing that he should be questioned and tried by the military.

Webmaster's Commentary:

If Obama wants this trial in a civilian court it is because he wants the media to cover it, which means this suspect is a setup to reinforce the White House's version of the story.

Libya Coming Full Circle. When A Deemed “Conspiracy Theory” Becomes Reality

How is Libya today? If one denied the existence of hell, they need not look further than Libya to observe a case of hell on Earth. Libya as a functioning, cohesive state has virtually ceased to exist, having been replaced by a myriad of conflicting factions divided on tribal and religious lines. While mainstream media tends to obscure the identity of these factions and their connection to western imperialists, Eric Draitser in his analysis, “Benghazi, the CIA, and the War in Libya” shows the beyond the fractious infighting, both primary factions engaging in direct combat have been beneficiaries of the NATO imperialist powers in their systematic aggression against the Libyan state.

Secret U.S. raid that captured Benghazi suspect violated our sovereignty, Libya says

Libya on Wednesday condemned U.S. special forces’ arrest of a man on its soil suspected of masterminding a deadly Islamist militant attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, describing the detention as a violation of Libyan sovereignty.

In the first official reaction from Tripoli, Justice Minister Saleh al-Marghani said the suspect, Ahmed Abu Khatallah, should be returned to Libya and tried there.

“We had no prior notification. We did not to expect the U.S. to upset our political scene,” Marghani told a news conference.

He said Khatalah had been wanted by Libyan authorities for questioning but a lack of security had prevented this.

Said al Saoud, spokesman for the foreign ministry, said:”This attack on Libya sovereignty happened at a time when Benghazi is suffering from many problems.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

U.S. captures Ahmed Abu Khatallah — suspected Benghazi ringleader — in secret raid

The United States said on Tuesday it had captured a suspected ringleader of the 2012 attack on the U.S. diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya, a raid that killed four Americans including the U.S. ambassador, and ignited a political firestorm in Washington.

Rear Admiral John Kirby, the Pentagon press secretary, said U.S. military troops, working with law enforcement personnel, captured Ahmed Abu Khatallah on Sunday in Libya and were holding him at a secure location outside the country.

A U.S. official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Khatallah was being held aboard an American ship after he was grabbed on the outskirts of Benghazi in an operation carried out by U.S. special operations forces.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A memo to the White House: distraction by misdirection is no longer working on the American people, folks.

This guy may very well wind up being some schmuck patsy, who had nothing to do with the deaths at Benghazi, but will be "persuaded" by his captors (waterboarding?!? cutting his private parts? Drugging? Sleep depriving? Stress positions? Brutally kicking and punching? All of the above, simultaneously?) to say ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING supporting the official White House narrative.

But you see, it will not work; and it will not work because this Administration has lost any small shred of credibility it might have had, and the American people no longer believe a word you say.

With IRSgate (now reaching critical mass because of the "missing" IRS emails); APgate; VAgate; Benghazigate,Ukrainegate; Obamacaregate; an economy STILL on the skids, 6 years into Obama's presidency; and the reality that the US has re-invaded Iraq as of yesterday, the track record of performance, on promises by this administration, is absolutely, breathtakingly, lousy.

The American people truly feel no longer represented by any politicians, because politicians craft legislation which is great for the corporations funding their election cycles, but is generally pretty darn rotten for We the People.

And We the People have come to understand that.

U.S. captures Benghazi suspect in secret raid

U.S. Special Operations forces captured one of the suspected ringleaders of the terrorist attacks in Benghazi in a secret raid in Libya over the weekend, the first time one of the accused perpetrators of the 2012 assault has been apprehended, according to U.S. officials.

The officials said Ahmed Abu Khattala was captured Sunday near Benghazi by American troops, working alongside the FBI, following months of planning, and was now in U.S. custody “in a secure location outside Libya.” The officials said there were no casualties in the operation, and that all U.S. personnel involved have safely left Libya.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This Ahmed Abu Khattala is likely being coached to reinforce the official US Government story about Benghazi, but mostly to distract Americans and the corporate media from what is going on in Iraq and Ukraine.

US spy agencies heard Benghazi attackers using State Dept. cell phones to call terrorist leaders

The terrorists who attacked the U.S. consulate and CIA annex in Benghazi on September 11, 2012 used cell phones, seized from State Department personnel during the attacks, and U.S. spy agencies overheard them contacting more senior terrorist leaders to report on the success of the operation, multiple sources confirmed to Fox News.

The disclosure is important because it adds to the body of evidence establishing that senior U.S. officials in the Obama administration knew early on that Benghazi was a terrorist attack, and not a spontaneous protest over an anti-Islam video that had gone awry, as the administration claimed for several weeks after the attacks.

It is because of Thomas as much as anyone else that women were first included at the WHCA dinner since, as the WHCA’s website mentions:
