UK spying laws: Government introduces law requiring WhatsApp and iMessage to break their own security

The Government is pushing through a bill that will cripple WhatsApp and iMessage as they currently exist.

The bill has been re-drafted after it was criticised by every parliamentary committee responsible for scrutinising it, but many of the most controversial powers remain.

The new draft of the Investigatory Powers Bill includes a clause that forces technology companies to weaken their security when spies need it to. That includes the removal of end-to-end encryption, the technology that allows services like WhatsApp, iMessage and FaceTime to allow people to communicate securely.

"Trump Must Be Stopped" Plead 'The Economist' And CFR As Financial Establishment Panics

It's one thing for the republican establishment to throw up all over the candidacy of Donald Trump: frankly, the GOP has not been relevant as a political power ever since Boehner started folding like a lawn chair to Obama's every demand just around the time of the first US downgrade, and as such what the Republican party - torn apart and very much irrelevant as the best of the "establishment" GOP candidates demonstrate - thinks is largely irrelevant.

However, when such stalwart titans of financial establishmentarianism as the Council of Foreign Relations and "The Economist", who until now had been largely ignoring Trump's ascent in the political hierarchy finally unleash an all out assault and go after Trump on the very same day, you know that the flamboyant, hyperbolic billionaire has finally gotten on the nerves of some very high net worth individuals.

The Two-Party Illusion

The Great Illusion of the two-party system is that it allows the voter a choice – usually between a liberal and a conservative government. The reality is that, whichever party wins the election, the government is, in truth, a totalitarian one. The “choice” is a mere distraction from the true objective.

A weakened Turkey seeks Israel's help to break growing isolation

Turkey finds itself in conflict with Russia and Iran, at odds with Egypt's Sisi and has lost its standing with NATO and the US.

Turkey finds itself in a conflict with Russia and Iran over Syria, where Erdogan hoped to see President Bashar Assad ousted. Erdogan supported the Muslim Brothers in Egypt and now he finds himself at odds with Egyptian President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi. Because of Turkey's uncompromising fight against its Kurdish population, as well as in Syria and Iraq, Ankara is also losing its influence with NATO and with the US. Turkey is now more isolated than ever and is therefore interested in renewing ties with Israel, in the hope that the Jewish state can help Ankara improve its standing in Washington. Turkey also needs natural gas from Israel in order to diversify its sources of energy and to reduce its dependency on Russian gas.

Most of the disagreements between Israel and Turkey stemming from the Marmara incident have already been rectified. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu apologized for the incident>>>

Snoopers' charter: Police given new powers to hack into phones and computers for 'routine investigations'

Police are to be given sweeping new powers to hack into phones and computers as well as access web browsing histories for routine investigations.

Officers could previously only break into electronic devices to investigate “serious crime”, but they can now do so for purposes of “preventing death or injury or damage to a person’s physical or mental health”.

It raises the prospect that police can access devices or communications data for routine investigations such as assaults, missing persons or suicide risks.

Saudi military admits US coalition mulling ground invasion in Syria

Saudi Arabia has acknowledged that the US-led anti-ISIS coalition has held a “political” discussion about a potential ground troop deployment in Syria. Riyadh’s statements have been criticized by Damascus as destructive and a threat to regional security

Oil Companies On Edge Ahead Of Super Tuesday

It has been a wild ride this election cycle, but with Super Tuesday upon us, the likely Presidential Nominees could be all but a foregone conclusion by the end of the week. And that will mean big things for energy and financial markets. More on that in a moment though.

With the withdrawal of Jeb Bush and Chris Christie, and the continued string of losses for Ted Cruz, the race seems to have narrowed on the Republican side to Donald Trump versus Marco Rubio. Rubio would likely eke out a victory even at this late stage were Cruz, Kasich, and Ben Carson to drop out of the race. Yet despite the dwindling chance that any of those people will be the Republican nominee, none of the remaining also-rans appear ready to drop out before Super Tuesday. And that could be enough to seal a victory for Trump
On the Democratic side, Hillary Clinton – the candidate that almost none of the Democrats seem to want –>>>

The Long History of Government Meddling in the American Marketplace

Typically, cronyism involves support of politicians in exchange for regulations denying others the freedom to compete with the moneyed interests (e.g., monopolies). Less competition leads to higher costs and lower quality. It reduces economic growth, jobs, wages, innovation, and productivity. Attempts to control economic growth through government spending and/or manipulating interest rates (e.g., stimulate growth with low rates) generally leads to more severe crises. None of these things are recent phenomena, but can be found again and again throughout American history.

This is the reason Christie has endorsed Trump — because he recognizes that Rubio and his supporters will lead us down a path that will be disastrous for the party.

With $1.8 Trillion In Debt Maturing This Year, Two Big Problems Emerge

One of the big problems with the artificial equity rally of the past 7 years is that virtually all of its has come on the heels of a historic splurge in stock buybacks: after all even Goldman recently admitted that buybacks have been the sole source of stock buying in recent years. This in itself would not be so troubling if it weren’t for the source of funds used to finance these relentless stock repurchases. Amazingly, if one nets out all other sources and uses of S&P500 corporate cash, virtually every dollar in buybacks has been funded by a dollar of new debt, as Socgen showed several months ago.

Just 39 percent give Democrats a favorable rating and just 33 percent do the same for Republicans. Lebanon will offer no apology to Saudi Arabia: Hezbollah

A senior member of Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance movement has slammed the Saudi regime’s plot to plunge the country into an “internal strife,” saying Lebanon will not apologize for speaking the “word of truth.”

“Days will show that the Saudi regime made a miscalculated move in its fabricated attack against Lebanon ... especially when it assaulted the sovereignty of all Lebanese,” Sheikh Nabil Qaouk, deputy chief of Hezbollah’s executive council, said on Saturday.

He further reiterated that Hezbollah will not apologize to Saudi Arabia for speaking the “word of truth against the oppressor,” stressing that the regime “will have to wait for a long time [for an apology], as we will abide by the right to confront oppression, Takfiri projects and sedition.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am getting the sense that Lebanon is being set up as the next spot for a joint Saudi/US military/Israeli misadventure.

CONFIRMED: OBAMA SENT WEAPONS TO MUSLIM TERRORISTS THROUGH BENGHAZI BENGHAZI

One of the few interesting items in the New York Times' whitewash of Hillary and Obama's illegal Libyan war is the confirmation of weapons shipments.

Obama ultimately took her side, according to the administration officials who described the debate. After he signed a secret document called a presidential finding, approving a covert operation, a list of approved weaponry was drawn up. The shipments arranged by the United States and other Western countries generally arrived through the port of Benghazi and airports in eastern Libya, a Libyan rebel commander said.

“Humvees, counterbattery radar, TOW missiles was the highest end we talked about,” one State Department official recalled. “We were definitely giving them lethal assistance. We’d crossed that line.”

FBI DIRECTOR JAMES COMEY, WHO SIGNED OFF ON WATERBOARDING, IS NOW LOSING SLEEP OVER AN IPHONE

FBI Director James Comey said his agency’s ongoing dispute with Apple raises “the hardest question I’ve seen in government.” Comey was testifying before the House Intelligence Committee on Thursday about the government’s attempt to force Apple to write software than undoes its own security protocols.

But Comey has faced considerably tougher questions in his career. Before becoming FBI director, he was the deputy assistant attorney general in George W. Bush’s Justice Department, where he pushed back on certain elements of the Bush-Cheney torture and surveillance programs — but ended up signing off on both.

In April 2004, several months after Comey arrived at DOJ, news broke that U.S. soldiers had tortured prisoners at the Abu Ghraib detention facility in Iraq. Two months later, reporters discovered a memo written in August 2002 by then-Assistant Attorney General Jay Bybee, which outlined a particularly aberrant legal theory for circumventing the U.S.’ anti-torture laws.

Webmaster's Commentary:

That any person who ever signed off on torture could wind up as the head of the FBI demonstrates how morally corrupt this country has become.

ACTIVISTS ARRESTED, BEING HELD PRISONER FOR BRINGING A PEACE OFFERING TO WISCONSIN DRONE BASE

Last week, peace activists Brian Terrell and Kathy Kelly were arrested as they attempted to deliver a load of bread and a letter to drone operators working at Volk Field, an air base where drones are launched. On behalf of a group called Creative Nonviolence, Terrell and Kelly were hoping to deliver their peace offering to a few drone operators and hopefully have a conversation.

However, they were quickly arrested for trespassing on the airbase.

Before her arrest, Kathy Kelly said:

Webmaster's Commentary:

I have to wonder just how much stock this judge has in companies which produce weaponry.

And since when has the attempt to deliver a loaf of bread, and letter to a military base become "illegal"?!? There was absolutely no violence here, whatsoever.

But I guess that's the norm in a culture where the alleged "bad words" are bleeped out of the dialogue in a movie on TV, yet we are able to rain hot, blazing death with drone missiles on innocents abroad who just had the enormous bad look to be at the wrong place at exactly the wrong time when the drone strikes came.

Sometimes, I absolutely despair of this country, and the trajectory of its future, over time.

2016 interview with President John Kennedy: who assassinated me and why, American public’s opportunity today to cause peace

*hyperlinks/videos live at source*

Introduction: Of ~100 various film clips I show high school US History students, over the years their favorite with demand to see the entire documentary is Advanced Placement US History teacher John Hankey’s documentary, Dark Legacy. I’ve invested over 100 hours in research of the facts associated to causes for JFK’s assassination, and fully recommend Dark Legacy. I also fully recommend the works of Jim Fetzer (and here for several researchers’ presentations) and Jim Marrs on this subject. The evidence is overwhelming to prove US government assassination of President Kennedy in ~50 key areas. This evidence is even more abundant than the King family presented in their civil trial that found the US government guilty of Martin’s assassination.

They’re still lying about the first Gulf War:

They’re still lying about the first Gulf War: How the first George Bush helped create today’s Middle East trouble
The first Gulf War was not the good one, and 25 years later, as false history hardens, we must remember why
Ted Cruz has won applause in recent debates by citing what is seen as America’s last unambiguous victory. To defeat ISIS, he said, we should look to the first Gulf War. (Which ended 25 years ago today.) Cruz wants a repeat of that stormy desert operation, with its thousand-plus air attacks in 37 days —and with all its attendant destruction. “There ain’t much left” to a place after such a campaign, Cruz said with a smile.

Ohio Gov. John Kasich has likewise argued that we’d beat ISIS if we just called upon “the coalition that we had when we went to the first Gulf War.” Likewise, Donald Trump has been sure, when dismissing the Bush family legacy, to separate the calamities of the son from the victories of the father. Even Michael Dukakis, in an interview this month, praised how George H.W. Bush handled that war.

So, something that’s lauded by everyone from Cruz to Dukakis to must be an unmitigated good, right? Well, maybe not. Let’s take a look. It’s not hard to see so many of our troubles getting their start in 1991’s glowing sand. >>>

So if Trump is blasted because I have supported, (but not endorsed} because I have a long-ago non-violent Klan history — by that criterion Obama should be far more condemned by the media for the fact the OBAMA had no problem with a “former Klan Leader Robert Byrd” being his Democratic LEADER in the Senate.

Birmingham's Not The Only City Getting Screwed Over By The State

They say all politics is local.

I wish the same could be said for political power. But it isn't in Alabama.

In Alabama, all political power is in Montgomery.

The people of Birmingham – apparently even the legislators of Birmingham – have no say in their city's future. The state of Alabama has made that crystal clear.

It was clear when ALDOT told us they didn't give a damn about whether we wanted a massive interstate plowing through the heart of downtown.

It was clear when Alabama signed off on a $5.4 billion Northern Beltline so drivers had more ways to avoid visiting the Magic City.

It was clear when the Legislature told the city it had no authority to determine the fates of its monuments, statues and relics.

And it was clear when Montgomery emphatically shut the door on Birmingham's decision to raise its minimum wage. >>>

An Open Letter To The Three FBI Agents That Killed LaVoy Finicum In Oregon

I wonder what has happened to my America where you could easily tell the good guys from the bad guys. Are you mercenaries now? Carrying out executions on demand? Have you realized yet that you did the bidding of a government that is seeking to violate the property rights and steal the land of your fellow citizens? Do you realize that you are a citizen and that these ranchers were standing up for YOUR rights, too? Or have you not realized this.

Here’s the difficult question. After decades of government abuse to rancher’s property rights, how many ranchers have YOU defended, or aided, or stood for- because you did take an oath to defend the Constitutional rights of those in your care. I am going to guess that you have never stood for any of these men against the abuse of the government. You have become pawns. You are protecting the governments special interests, not the people’s.

Resign, so I can sleep at night with some of my faith in America restored.

Wage Slave America: NYC Offering 360 Sq Ft Apartments for $3,150

They make it look so classy, but in reality it’s a giant ripoff. Like everything else in life, the bigger an apartment is, the cheaper it is per square foot. This is just an attempt by developers to milk every penny out of their tenants. Instead of saving money by sharing an apartment with other people, our corporate overlords want us to us pay exorbitant prices to live alone in tiny apartments.

Virginia Senate Passes Bill That Will Effectively Turn Cops into Secret Police

In the United States, the Fourth Estate, also known as the Fourth Power or the fourth branch of government, has always been a popular label for the media’s role in a free society. But in the state of Virginia, legislators want to remove that power from the press by shielding police officers from public scrutiny.

Homeland Security Is Spilling a Lot of Secrets

The Department of Homeland Security suffered over 100 “spills” of classified information last year, 40 percent of which came from one office, according to a leaked internal document I obtained. Officials and lawmakers told me that until the Department imposes stricter policies and sounder practices to better protect sensitive intelligence, the vulnerabilities there could be exploited. Not only does this raise the threat that hostile actors could get their hands on classified information, but may lead to other U.S. agencies keeping DHS out of the loop on major security issues.

Are Environmentalism and Global Warming Effectively Religious Socialism?

The world needed the new paradigm of environmentalism. The problem is that a few grabbed it for a political agenda. They used it as a vehicle to take the moral high ground, to claim only they cared about the environment. They argued that everyone else was guilty of environmental destruction because of their avarice and wasteful ways. The debate about global warming is a subset of environmentalism that was also hijacked using the same themes.

In the US, Apple is fighting the FBI's court order to unlock a dead terrorist's iPhone. The terrorist, with his wife, massacred 14 people in San Bernardino last year.

It's a tough case. There is not a lot of sympathy for murdering terrorists, but Apple says complying with the FBI's warrant would set a precedent for all Apple users.

Meanwhile, in New Zealand our companies fall over themselves to give private information when a Government department asks for it.

The Government mostly needs no warrant and companies hand over information even if not legally obligated to do so. The Government asks, companies provide.

The Privacy Commissioner reports the big three that ask for information are the Inland Revenue, the Ministry of Social Development and police. These three departments issued 11,333 information requests to just 10 companies - two telcos, seven financial services companies and one utility.

United Arab Emirates to Introduce 5% VAT Thanks to IMF

The impact of the collapse in oil is having dramatic effects on taxation in the Middle East and suddenly on the issue of government debt. The UAE will implement a 5% value added tax (VAT) beginning January 1, 2018. UAE Minister of State for Financial Affairs Obaid Humaid Al Tayer made the announcement after listening to Christine Lagarde speak at the IMF conference. In fact, he made the announcement at a joint press conference on Wednesday with Lagarde. However, our sources within government have relayed that income taxes are likely perhaps within 2 years as well.

Inside the Republican Party’s Desperate Mission to Stop Donald Trump

Despite all the forces arrayed against Mr. Trump, the interviews show, the party has been gripped by a nearly incapacitating leadership vacuum and a paralytic sense of indecision and despair, as he has won smashing victories in South Carolina and Nevada. Donors have dreaded the consequences of clashing with Mr. Trump directly. Elected officials have balked at attacking him out of concern that they might unintentionally fuel his populist revolt. Donald Trump is Right, It Would Be Very Stupid to Release His Taxes During an Audit

However, Trump would be very, very stupid to release them, at least according to nearly all (except one) of the high profile tax attorneys and accountants around the country we contacted for this story. In Emails, Top Snyder Aides Raised Issues About Flint Water

An aide to Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder warned of "downright scary" Flint water … in 2014.
***
— Dennis Muchmore, Snyder's former chief of staff: In July 2015, he wrote emails to two department directors warning that Flint residents who had complained about the smell, taste and appearance of the water and had raised health concerns were "basically getting blown off."

And in October 2014, two of the governor's lawyers urged that Flint — then under the control of a state-appointed emergency manager — switch back to getting water from Lake Huron via Detroit's water system, according to highlights published in Detroit newspapers.

Deputy counsel Valerie Brader called it "an urgent matter to fix," since water from the Flint River was contaminated with bacteria and corrosive enough that General Motors wouldn't use it to clean machinery, the Detroit Free Press reported. And her boss, Michael Gadola, called the idea of using Flint River water "downright scary."

But it would be another year before the state stepped in to address the problems, after a Flint pediatrician documented high levels of lead poisoning among children there and a Virginia Tech water expert documented how improperly treated water from the river leached lead out of aging pipes in the long-depressed city. Brader told the Free Press that emergency manager Darnell Earley assured them the problems were expected to dissipate.

Snyder, a two-term Republican elected on promises of conservative reform, has said he learned about the problem in October 2015 >>>

Who will watch for BBC bias in the EU referendum campaign?

It is wearisome work, but I hope the ‘leave’ campaign is carefully monitoring the BBC’s coverage of the referendum. On Monday, the first full weekday since Mr Cameron’s ‘legally binding’ deal, I listened to the Today programme for more than two hours. I heard six speakers for ‘remain’ and two (John Mills and Nigel Lawson) for ‘leave’.

In this I am not including any of the BBC interviewers themselves, though my hunch, based solely on the way they ask questions, is that all of them, with the possible exception of John Humphrys, are for ‘remain’. The guests explicitly in favour of ‘remain’ were Carolyn Fairbairn, Sir Mike Rake, Stanley Johnson and Michael Fallon. Jonathan Portes, who is always presented by the BBC as a neutral expert, was actually pushing the EU cause.

FBI vs. Apple: Fake Fight?

A few of the reports mention the "10-times you're out" problem, where the phone data is deleted automatically after 10 incorrect password attempts. Still, the FBI could clone the phone's memory and just use brute-force to make different attempts on cloned phones. It's just a 4-digit PIN, so there's only 10,000 different PINs to try. This means that they'd only have to make the clone 1000 times, though there's a 50% chance the PIN will be in the 1st half of the numbers attempted, so on average only 500 10-try attempts will be needed. Sure, making 1000 (or even just 500) phone memory clones and testing them is time-consuming, but it certainly can't take longer than the time to sue Apple all the way to the Supreme Court.

Inside the Republican Party’s Desperate Mission to Stop Donald Trump

The scenario Karl Rove outlined was bleak.

Addressing a luncheon of Republican governors and donors in Washington on Feb. 19, he warned that Donald J. Trump’s increasingly likely nomination would be catastrophic, dooming the party in November. But Mr. Rove, the master strategist of George W. Bush’s campaigns, insisted it was not too late for them to stop Mr. Trump, according to three people present.

At a meeting of Republican governors the next morning, Paul R. LePage of Maine called for action. Seated at a long boardroom table at the Willard Hotel, he erupted in frustration over the state of the 2016 race, saying Mr. Trump’s nomination would deeply wound the Republican Party. Caught On Tape: U.S. Test Fires Nuclear ICBM, Warns "We Are Prepared To Use Nuclear Weapons"

Less than two years ago, news of Russia test-firing an ICBM just as the east Ukraine civil war was heating up, was sufficient to send the stock market into a brief tailspin. Since then, the launches of nuclear-tipped intercontinental ballistic missiles has become an almost daily occurrence, with the market hardly batting an eyelid.

In fact, it happened just last night at 11:01pm PST at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California, where - for the second time this week - the US test-fired its second intercontinental ballistic missile in the past seven days, seeking to demonstrate its nuclear arms capacity at a time of rising strategic tensions with Russia, North Korea, China and the middle east.

Longstanding Hillary Clinton Ties to Monsanto

Her presidency would be nightmarish for world peace, popular interests and what remains of fundamental freedoms, a disaster risking full-blown tyranny and global war - vital to go all-out to oppose.

Her biotech/agribusiness ties began during the 1980s as a Rose Law firm lawyer. Monsanto and Tyson Foods were clients.

During her years as first lady in the 1990s, she supported harmful to health genetically modified foods and ingredients - while banning them from White House menus.

The Clinton and Bush II families ate organic foods, free from genetic manipulation and toxic pesticides.

As Obama’s secretary of state, she heavily pressured other countries to use and import GMOs. US taxpayer money continues promoting them worldwide, ignoring food safety.

Monsanto gave the Clinton Foundation up to a million dollars - dirty money buying influence. Last year, she hired former Monsanto lobbyist Jerry Crawford to run her campaign.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Clinton wants you to vote for her "on her record"; this support for GMO companies is a big part of that "record".

Feds Seek “Mental Health” Testing of All Children, Adults

Next time you visit your doctor, be careful how you respond to his questions, or you may just be branded “mentally ill” and subjected to “treatment.” That is because a panel advising the Obama administration, in partnership with Big Psychiatry, wants to make doctors subject all American adults and children over age 12 to screening for alleged “mental health” disorders — particularly depression, at least to start with. Then, anyone found to harbor any alleged mental disorder, including children as young as eight, should undergo “therapy,” often including powerful psychotropic medications that experts say have dubious value but often come with well-documented and highly dangerous side effects.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One of the best things you can do for yourself is educate yourself on now nutrition and exercise can positively benefit your health.

I am absolutely not "anti-Doctor" (we have one in the family, and she is terrific!) But remember the model they have been given: symptoms must be conventionally medicated.

And sometimes, in the medical/industrial complex, that conventional medication may do more harm than good.

And remember, as demonstrated with the Pfizer debacle, many doctors do take compensation from drug companies for prescribing "off book" drugs, which have never been specifically tested for symptoms a patient may have.

This is so "Old Soviet Union" I hardly know where to begin. And what I mean by that is, in the USSR, people who had differences of opinions with those of the government were isolated, sent to mental hospitals, and drugged out of their mind, until those opinions did conform to the official line (if they didn't die from bad drug reactions first).

Right now, the straight jackets are chemical, not physical; and these anti-depressant drugs are documented as having some really horrific side effects.

HOW HILLARY CLINTON ENABLED THE 2009 MILITARY COUP IN HUNDURAS

On June 28, 2009, when Hillary Clinton was Secretary of State, democratically elected Honduran President Manuel Zelaya was overthrown by a military coup. The United Nations, the European Union, and the Organization of American States condemned the coup, and on July 5, Honduras was suspended from the OAS.

Under longstanding and clear-cut U.S. law, all U.S. aid to Honduras except democracy assistance, including all military aid, should have been immediately suspended following the coup.

Why wasn’t U.S. aid to Honduras suspended following the coup? The justification given by Clinton’s State Department on August 25 for not suspending U.S. aid to Honduras was that events in Honduras were murky and it was not clear whether a coup had taken place. Clinton’s State Department claimed that State Department lawyers were studying the murky question of whether a coup had taken place.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Hey, Clinton is saying over and over again, that she wants you to vote on her record.

Few things could be more indicative of the lies, coverups, and horrific things she allowed to happen during her tenure as Secretary of State than this coup.

Please remember; this coup is a part of her "record".

No dad, no money: Illinois GOP bill proposes cutting aid to single mothers, including rape victims

A new bill proposed by Illinois Republicans would strip single mothers and their children of financial aid. The draft law makes no excuse for rape victims who decide not to abort, but excludes in vitro mothers.
Currently in committee, the bill proposed by two GOP members, John Cavaletto and Keith Wheeler, would deny newborns birth certificates if their mothers will not or cannot provide the name of a biological father.

“Absent DNA evidence or a family member’s name, a birth certificate will not be issued and the mother will be ineligible for financial aid from the State for support of the child,” the bill reads.

The bill would also take away the state’s financial support for a child born to a single mother if she fails to provide the name of the biological father or bring DNA test results identifying him within 30 days.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A short memo to State Republicans Cavaletto and Wheeler; it is painfully obvious that you have not thought this through in any serious fashion.

And at the end of the day, it will be the kids of these moms, (if they are allowed to live) plus the moms, who will be punished, if this legislation is passed.

Are you seriously looking at forcing these single mothers to abort these children, if the pregnancy is within the state guidelines of dates of termination allowed, then sterilizing these women with some kind of permanent form of birth control?

Because gentlemen, that is sure as hell what it looks to me.

Could we not, please, be looking at something so draconian and punitive, to save the state of Illinois some money?!?

There is an article, from npr.org, to which both these gentlemen need to take heed:

Love them or hate them, contraceptives do save taxpayers money, Brookings concludes. The study, from the Brookings Center on Children and Families, looked at three different ways to prevent unintended pregnancies, which account for about half of all pregnancies in the U.S. All three approaches more than pay for themselves. But one -– increasing funding for family planning services through the Medicaid program -– clearly outshines the other two in terms of cost-effectiveness. Yes, you may have heard there are lots of ways to lower the rate of unintended pregnancy. There are mass media campaigns to urge young people to avoid unprotected sex. Other programs urge teens to delay having sex, or, as a fallback, teach them how to use contraception effectively. And then there's Medicaid's help low-income women afford the most effective contraceptive methods. But this study, using a simulation model devised by Brookings, is the first to estimate exactly how much could be saved using each method. It found that a national mass media campaign that would cost $100 million would result in about $431 million in savings to taxpayers, largely by reducing unintended pregnancy, particularly among people who don't make much money. Programs the Brookings researchers called "evidence-based teen pregnancy prevention," which combine an emphasis on abstinence "while also educating participants about how to use various methods of contraception" have both reduced the rate of sexual activity and increased the use of contraception. Spending $145 million on such programs would return $356 million to taxpayers, according to the model. But by far the biggest return on investment would come from expanding access to family planning through Medicaid, something made possibly through the 2010 Affordable Care Act. A $235 million investment there would lower taxpayer costs of $1.32 billion by preventing unintended pregnancies.

Logic dictates that education on pregnancy prevention is the key, here; not poorly-conceived legislation like this.

And PLEASE, for God's sake, do not punish the kid; their having been conceived and born, was not their fault, OK

L.A. is seizing tiny homes from the homeless

Escalating their battle to stamp out an unprecedented spread of street encampments, city officials have begun seizing tiny houses from homeless people in South Los Angeles.

Elvis Summers, who built and donated the structures, removed seven of the gaily painted wooden houses — which come with solar-powered lights and American flags — on Wednesday and Thursday ahead of a scheduled city sweep.

Obama Administration Set to Expand Sharing of Data That N.S.A. Intercepts

The Obama administration is on the verge of permitting the National Security Agency to share more of the private communications it intercepts with other American intelligence agencies without first applying any privacy protections to them, according to officials familiar with the deliberations.

The change would relax longstanding restrictions on access to the contents of the phone calls and email the security agency vacuums up around the world, including bulk collection of satellite transmissions, communications between foreigners as they cross network switches in the United States, and messages acquired overseas or provided by allies.

Webmaster's Commentary:

OK, the 4th Amendment to the Constitution has just been completely eviscerated by this move.

Any attempt at reading my posts, emails, or texts, will reveal the following:

1. I love my husband.
2. I care about my friends.
3. I love creating music.
4. I love being involved in my church's music program.
5. I am a Christian pacifist activist who abhors violence, and encourages the US government to resolve geopolitical disputes through fair, moral, and disciplined negotiations with other countries.

Unfortunately, it's that last bit which has probably gotten me on a number of Persons of Interest lists.

But the irony here is, the bad guys have installed state of the art encryption into their systems to the point where neither the DHS or NSA can break into their communications.

Over the last years, Mike has presented 6 encryption challenges to the NSA, none of which were ever solved; the computer logs indicate that a lot of people downloaded these, but the end result was an epic fail.

In the words of my late grandmother, the horse is already out of the barn here.

‘Path to 9/11’ Director Reveals How Clintons Had Film Banned in U.S.

In an explosive new interview, award-winning filmmaker Cyrus Nowrasteh (The Stoning of Soraya M., The Young Messiah) detailed how Bill and Hillary Clinton allegedly used their influence at Disney/ABC to effectively ban the 2006 miniseries The Path to 9/11, which examined the events leading up to the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center in 2001.

As Breitbart’s John Nolte reported last year, the four-hour miniseries from the acclaimed Iranian-American writer-director presents an unflinching dramatization of the events leading up to 9/11, including an examination of then-President Bill Clinton’s failure to capture and kill its chief architect, Osama bin Laden. ABC reportedly spent $40 million to produce the miniseries, but shelved it indefinitely under alleged pressure from the Clintons.

ECONOMIC RECOVERY? 13 OF THE BIGGEST RETAILERS IN AMERICA ARE CLOSING DOWN STORES

Barack Obama recently stated that anyone that is claiming that America’s economy is in decline is “peddling fiction“.

Well, if the economy is in such great shape, why are major retailers shutting down hundreds of stores all over the country? Last month, I wrote about the “retail apocalypse” that is sweeping the nation, but since then it has gotten even worse. Closing stores has become the “hot new trend” in the retail world, and “space available” signs are going up in mall windows all over the United States. Barack Obama can continue huffing and puffing about how well the middle class is doing all he wants, but the truth is that the cold, hard numbers that retailers are reporting tell an entirely different story.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The US economy is flailing, and rapidly going from bad to worse; no wonder those in the bowels of power in Foggy Bottom are so damned eager to start a world war, in an attempt to distract a very angry American public from the real reasons for their intense financial distress!!

COPS ARREST SICK WOMAN IN THE HOSPITAL FOR UNPAID FINES, PUT HER IN JAIL & DEHYDRATE HER TO DEATH

On July 21, of last year, Joyce Curnell, 50, of Edisto Island became very ill and was taken by ambulance to the hospital while complaining of nausea and vomiting. While she was in the hospital, somehow police were alerted to her presence over unpaid court fees and were dispatched to the scene. The sick woman was then arrested, while in the hospital, and brought to jail — where she would spend the rest of her life.

The family of Curnell has since filed a lawsuit after it was discovered that she was deprived of water until she died.

After she had been discharged from the hospital into police custody, the officers were given instructions to care for her. However, officers and jail medical staff “refused to provide any medical attention to (her) whatsoever,” the court documents stated.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I love how police are interpreting the phrase "To protect and Serve" these days, not only in South Carolina, but other states as well.

How monstrous and soulless do police have to be, to forcibly take a sick woman from a hospital bed to jail, and just let her die, over....unpaid fines?!?

Ah, but in the 21st century, in Amerika, the corporate culture is also soulless and monstrous, with "money uber alles" as it's motto, isn't it?!?

And that, of course, thoroughly justifies the assassination of a woman who couldn't pay those $1,148.90 court costs, through jailhouse medical neglect, right?!?

Folks, we had damned well better start thinking about where we are going as a species, because incidents like this, which bear all the signs of wicked inhumanity and callous indifference to one's brothers and sisters, make me really fear for the future of humankind on this planet.

Do Americans Live In A False Reality Created By Orchestrated Events? — Paul Craig Roberts

Most people who are aware and capable of thought have given up on what is called the “mainstream media.” The presstitutes have destroyed their credibility by helping Washington to lie—“Saddam Hussein’s weapons of mass destruction,” “Iranian nukes,” “Assad’s use of chemical weapons,” “Russian invasion of Ukraine,” and so forth. The “mainstream media” has also destroyed its credibility by its complete acceptance of whatever government authorities say about alleged “terrorist events,” such as 9/11 and Boston Marathon Bombing, or alleged mass shootings such as Sandy Hook and San Bernardino. Despite glaring inconsistencies, contradictions, and security failures that seem too unlikely to be believable, the “mainstream media” never asks questions or investigates. It merely reports as fact whatever authorities say.

Essential history: ‘Forever debt’ Federal Reserve system invented to pay interest without ever ever ever repaying debt – definition of ‘Ponzi scheme’

*hyperlinks/videos live at source*

Ponzi scheme: criminal fraud of paying existing “investors” only and always from new “investors.” Collapse occurs without new “investors” and/or existing “investors” panic to cash-in.

The US Federal Reserve is based on the 1694-created Bank of England because this model allows government finance with debt that is never meant to be repaid. It is an “investment” model that pays interest guaranteed through tax collection. Its invention was to finance England’s government and military in a history of continuous centuries of war.

It’s cleverness allowed British finance to fund a short-term empire over rival European powers.

Although we can appreciate this historical manipulation, this is a Ponzi scheme because the system collapses without new “investors” of government debt securities.

This Ponzi scheme model is our US Federal Reserve System today:

not “US Federal” but admitted privately-owned,

Here Are 100 Reasons Why We Need To Audit The Federal Reserve

The Federal Reserve does whatever it feels like doing, and Fed officials insist that the institution must remain “independent” and “above politics” because monetary policy is too important to entrust to the American people. To me, this is absolutely ridiculous. Everything else, including our national defense, is subject to the normal political process, and yet the decisions made by the Fed are so “important” that the American people can’t have a voice? It is high time that the American people begin to learn what the Federal Reserve is really all about, and that can start with a full, comprehensive audit of all of the Federal Reserve’s activities. Central Bankers’ Bogus Wand Will Have No Effect

Central Bank heads believe they are magicians who can wave their magic wand to create whatever economic conditions they desire. There is more at stake here than the privacy of Apple’s millions of customers and the security of power grids and all that the Internet serves. Personal liberty in a free society is at stake. The late great Justice Antonin Scalia recognized that liberty and safety are not in equipoise when he wrote that there is nothing novel about liberty trumping safety under the Constitution. Black Lives Matter Activists Interrupt Hillary Clinton At Private Event In South Carolina

Two Black Lives Matter activists interrupted a private Hillary Clinton fundraising event Wednesday night in Charleston, South Carolina.

Youth activist Ashley Williams protested Clinton, demanding that the Democratic presidential candidate account for inconsistencies on her record on race, specifically around her comments made about crime in 1996.

Williams and her colleague, whom she did not identify, contributed $500 to attend the Clinton event, which was held at a private residence with around 100 people, she estimated.

Williams said she and her colleague strategically placed themselves at the front of the crowd and waited until Clinton appeared. Speakers introducing Clinton around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday night spoke of Walter Scott, the Charleston A.M.E. shootings and how Clinton had a strong record of racial justice.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The hubristic impunity which defines Candidate Clinton means that she doesn't believe that whatever she ever says should ultimately come back to....bite her.

And this reference to at-youth risk being kids we have to "bring to heel", as one does with a dog, is something thinking would people never say in the first place. Troubled kids are just that; troubled, and you have to create a plan of action to keep them focused, to give them protection when they need it (from the gangs and the drugs) and find a way of helping their families stay encouraging and secure.

Sometimes, people don't want to hear what they need to hear; this instance, at this event, was one of them.

Ashley Williams, I hope your family is proud of you today, for having had the temerity to tell the truth; Bravo, and well done on that.

There may well be consequences for you for having done this, and God knows I understand what they may be, having been victims of the Clintons, and lived to tell the tale.

SECRET POLICE' PLAN CALLED 'UNPRECEDENTED'

A prominent civil-rights organization is protesting a Virginia state bill that would create a “secret police” force allowing officers to be “effectively immunized from wrongdoing and able to act with impunity.”

The Rutherford Institute dispatched a letter Wednesday to James LeMunyon, chairman of the House of Delegates’ General Laws subcommittee.

The proposal, Senate Bill 552, would classify the names of all police officers as “personnel records,” making them exempt from disclosure.

“American citizens have a right to know when government agencies and government officials have engaged in wrongdoing,” said constitutional attorney John Whitehead, president of the Rutherford Institute and author of “Battlefield America: The War on the American People.”

Trust the government? Maybe you shouldn’t. Read the details in “Lies the Government Told You,” by Judge Andrew Napolitano.

Tonight’s debate has to be the beginning of Trump’s downfall.

Hillary Clinton’s War on Women

As a Senator, Hillary Clinton voted for the Iraq War, and in 2008, defended her vote, saying, “I believe in coercive diplomacy.” She also voted against the Levin Amendment in 2002, an amendment that would have given the UN veto power over United States military action. In 2004, she voted in favor of allocating $86 billion of the U.S. budget to military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. She voted against withdrawing troops from Iraq in 2007.

As Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton’s record is horrific. Clinton aggressively pursued regime changes in Libya and Syria, leading to the creation of ISIS, war in Mali, and the strengthening of terrorist group Boko Haram. Regime change has historically been terrible for national security, leading to blowback and the creation of newer, bigger, more oppressive threats to both citizens of the United States and citizens of the Middle East.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Please do not be fooled by Clinton's slick marketing blitzkrieg: she is not "fighting for us" - she is fighting for the major corporations which look to abuse the rights of Americans even more than they already are abused; she will bring more war and desperation to this country, and continue to offshore/outsource jobs away from this country to make her corporate cronies, who own her, happy.

And BTW, in a coming Clinton regime, look for a reinstitution of the draft, culling both our young men and young women, to fight and die, ultimately for private corporate profit; this is what this woman is all about.

In Shift, Marco Rubio Attacks Donald Trump By Name Ahead of Debate
In an abrupt about-face in strategy, Marco Rubio on Wednesday night attacked Donald Trump on policy by name from the stump, drawing the battle lines for a certain showdown with the GOP front-runner on the eve of Thursday's debate.

At an energetic rally in Houston, Rubio targeted Trump on Obamacare and Israel, charging Trump "thinks parts of Obamacare are pretty good" and that he's refused to come to Israel's defense.

"The front-runner in this race, Donald Trump, has said he's not going to take sides on Israel versus the Palestinians because he wants to be an honest broker," Rubio said. Tim Cook: If The FBI Gets What It Wants, It Will Threaten Public Safety

Apple chief Tim Cook on Wednesday said that complying with a court order to help the FBI break into an iPhone belonging to one of the San Bernardino shooters would be "bad for America," and set a legal precedent that would offend many Americans.

"Some things are hard, and some things are right, and some things are both - this is one of those things," Cook told ABC News in his first interview since the court order came down last week. He added that the government was asking for "the software equivalent of cancer" and that he planned to talk to President Barack Obama directly about getting the dispute "on a better path."

Later asked whether Apple would be prepared to fight this case all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court, Cook said, “We would be prepared to take this issue all the way.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Folks, this is not about breaking encryption on one phone: this is about establishing precedent, and Cook understands that.

We Just Found Out The Real Reason The FBI Wants A Backdoor Into The IPhone

Whistleblower Edward Snowden tweeted last week that “crucial details [of the case] are being obscured by officials.” Specifically, he made the following trenchant points:

1) The FBI already has all of the suspect's communications records -- who they talked to and how -- as these are stored by service providers, not on the phone itself.

2) The FBI has received comprehensive backups of all the suspect's data until just 5 weeks before the crime.

3) Copies of the suspect's contacts with co-workers -- the FBI's claimed interest -- are available in duplicate from those co-workers' phones.

4) The phone in controversy is a government-issued work phone, subjected to consent-to-monitoring, not a secret terrorist communications device. Raw Footage Of NY Govt Forcing Vendors To TRASH Crates Of Perfectly Good Food

It was a sad sorry day for vendors, the homeless and mystified onlookers who witnessed a recent wasteful and intimidating incident in New York. An order was made to take food from city vendors and hurl it into the garbage.

A witness recorded the event with a cell phone and the video was submitted to The Free Thought Project from the Facebook page of Gary Schlesinger. Police hover in the background as sanitation workers pick up large crates of fresh produce outside shops and start hurling them into the back of the trash-collecting dump truck.

Ammon Bundy, others plead not guilty

Oregon standoff: Ammon Bundy, others plead not guilty; judge aims to avoid trial delay
***
After the judge explained their rights to a trial and their presumption of innocence, several of the defendants directly challenged her assertions.

"It's difficult to understand the presumption of innocence when I've spent the last month in a jail cell and led around in chains wherever I go,'' Payne said.

Brown said she understood his concerns, but noted that his detention was a separate matter.

Co-defendant Ryan Bundy, standing beside his lawyer in the jury box, grabbed hold of a wireless microphone that the lawyers were passing from one to another and told the court that he shared the same reservation. He is Ammon Bundy's older brother.

"We're being treated as we're guilty,'' he said. "So I don't understand the presumption of innocence.''

Co-defendant Jason Patrick, when asked if he understood his constitutional rights, replied, "I understand I have no rights at all. You're the federal government. You're going to do whatever you want.''

And David Fry, the last to surrender to federal officers on Feb. 11, joined in, "It's weird - innocent until proven guilty - shackled up.''

How the Affordable Care Act Continues to Fall Short

The government always fails to deliver on its promises.

Of the seven main candidates running for president, only one wants to keep the Affordable Care Act in place: the Democratic kind-of-front-runner Hillary Clinton. Everyone else wants to get rid of it.

Most Republicans would replace it by returning health insurance regulation to the states, although they would also lock in much of the ACA's new spending. Self-proclaimed socialist Bernie Sanders would replace it with a single-payer system—Medicare for all. It's a terribly inefficient and costly idea, as many pundits have explained.

But it's worth noting that Sanders' main beef with the ACA is that it doesn't offer universal coverage. Basically, not everyone is insured under the law >>>

45 percent of Americans pay no federal income tax

An estimated 45.3 percent of American households — roughly 77.5 million — will pay no federal individual income tax, according to data for the 2015 tax year from the Tax Policy Center, a nonpartisan Washington-based research group. (Note that this does not necessarily mean they won’t owe their states income tax.)

Economic Nonsense From Politicians

Too many Americans believe in the possibility of a free lunch. Politicians exploit that gullibility. The unpleasant task of a good economist is to teach that fundamental principle: One cannot get something for nothing.

The Fed’s Nightmare Scenario

Operating under the mistaken belief that a modest dose of inflation is either a prerequisite for, or a by-product of, economic growth, the nation’s top economists have been assuring us for quite some time that inflation will stay very low until the currently mediocre economy finally catches fire. As a result, they believe that the low inflation of the past few months has frustrated Federal Reserve policy makers, who have been supposedly chomping at the bit to keep hiking rates in order to restore confidence in the present and to build the ability to cut rates in the future if the nation were to ever, god forbid, enter another recession.

Bottom line, they need more money. Lots of it. And there is perhaps no easier pool of cash to ‘borrow’ than Americans’ retirement savings.

$7.3 trillion in US IRA accounts is too large for them to ignore.

And if you think it’s inconceivable for the government to borrow your retirement savings, just consider the following:

Judge Nap on New Email Ruling: 'I Don't Know How Hillary Escapes This'

Judicial Watch is seeking information about whether Clinton and her aides intentionally dodged public records laws by using a private email server.

Judge Andrew Napolitano weighed in this morning on FBN's "Varney & Co." and explained that this civil FOIA case moving slowly through the court system is a "nightmare" for Clinton.

Napolitano noted that separately, the FBI's investigation based on these documents continues.

He explained that a civil case allows for a far "broader latitude" for questioning witnesses than in a criminal case.

If Clinton's aides do not invoke the Fifth Amendment, Napolitano said that they could end up revealing information that could be used in the FBI's criminal probe.

"I don't know how she escapes this. I really don't. ... She cannot not know how grave her legal situation is," said Napolitano, adding that it's "probable" that Clinton receives a subpoena to testify.

Apple’s Little Secret: There Is Already A Backdoor Installed On Your iPhone

The current media frenzy about Apple’s stance on user privacy is likely to be a deliberately orchestrated distraction from the fact that the government already routinely accesses private information from Apple and Microsoft products.

Apple CEO Tim Cook’s “protests” against FBI’s demands are a ploy to distract the public from the reality that there’s already a backdoor on every new iPhone that ships around the globe: the ability to load and execute modified firmware without user intervention.

Webmaster's Commentary:

You know, Apple's sales have been down, and this whole contrived "controversy" may be an attempt to boost Apple's sales.

Judge orders Clinton aides to be questioned under oath on emails

A federal judge ruled on Tuesday that U.S. State Department officials and aides to Hillary Clinton should be questioned under oath about whether the former secretary of state's use of a private email system was an effort to skirt open records laws.

The ruling by U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan is likely to add to the uncertainty hovering over Clinton, the front-runner for the Democratic nomination for the November U.S. presidential election, about the legal consequences of her decision to exclusively use a private email server in her New York home for her government work.

Brexit: Why Britons won’t get what they vote for

On June 23, British citizens will line up to cast their vote on whether or not the country should stay in the European Union.

Plenty of reasons exist for Britain to leave the EU. Britain itself is an increasingly authoritarian environment but the trend in the EU is even worse.

Though it is heartening that British voters are finally able to vote on the Brexit issue, we are not confident that the elites will allow the people’s voices to be heard.

Obama Falsely Implies His Gun Controls Could Have Stopped the Kalamazoo Shooter

Speaking at a White House reception for the National Governors Association yesterday, President Obama mentioned the series of shootings that killed six people in Kalamazoo County, Michigan, on Saturday. "Earlier this year, I took some steps that will make it harder for dangerous people, like this individual, to buy a gun," he claimed. At this point there is no reason to believe that's true.

Obama's "executive actions" on gun control included a "clarification" of which gun sellers are "engaged in the business of selling firearms" and therefore must conduct background checks. But even if we assume that more gun buyers will undergo background checks as a result of that initiative (which is by no means assured), it is almost certainly irrelevant to the the case at hand.

Greek Attempt To Force Use Of Electronic Money Instead Of Physical Cash Fails

While the "developed world" is only now starting its aggressive push to slowly at first, then very fast ban the use of physical cash as the key gating factor to the global adoption of NIRP (by first eliminating high-denomination bills because they "aid terrorism and spread criminality") one country has long been doing everything in its power to ween its population away from tax-evasive cash as a medium of payment, and into digital transactions: Greece.

The problem, however, is that it has failed.

According to Kathimerini, "Greek businesses are not ready for the expansion of plastic money through the compulsory use of credit and debit cards for everyday transactions."

Cops Raid Wrong House and Kill an Innocent Young Man – Steal Witness’s Phone for Filming It

Edgar Camacho-Alvarado, 23, was shot and killed by police this weekend while police were searching for a murder suspect in his neighborhood. The young man was not actually guilty of any crime, nor did he pose a threat to officers, and he never even attempted to interfere with their investigation. He was simply at the wrong place at the wrong time, working to fix the engine in his truck in the driveway in front of his home.

The police are refusing to release any further information about the shooting, but Edgar’s family wants answers.

PINAC reported that the victim’s little brother had his cell phone confiscated by police and that it is possible that he recorded the killing on his phone.

Hillary Clinton’s Six Foreign-Policy Catastrophes

Many commentators have mentioned (such as here and here and here and here) that Hillary Clinton left behind no major achievement as U.S. Secretary of State; but, actually, she did. Unfortunately, all of her major achievements were bad, and some were catastrophic. Six countries were especially involved: Honduras, Haiti, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria, and Ukraine. The harm she did to each country was not in the interest of the American people, and it was disastrous for the residents there.
Hillary Clinton at every campaign debate says “I have a better track-record,” and that she’s “a progressive who gets things done.” Here’s what she has actually done, when she was Secretary of State; here’s her track-record when she actually had executive responsibility for U.S. foreign-affairs. This will display her real values, not just her claimed values:

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF you want more wars; the return of the draft (there are, as of last count, 3 bills in Congress to make this happen, and this time, women will be drafted as well); more US job offshoring/outsourcing; more income inequality at home, and more hatred of America abroad because of its horrific foreign policy, then by all means, please support Clinton's candidacy.

IF you do not want to see this happen, please consider your alternatives, and read and think very carefully about the other candidates' positions on foreign and domestic policies.

Congressional Budget Office Unleashes Plot To Fleece America, Charge Drivers By The Mile (While Giving Untold Billions To Israel)

The U.S. Congressional Budget Office released a lengthy report two weeks ago strongly suggesting that the 18.4 cents per gallon gasoline tax, which is supposedly spent on maintaining the roads and infrastructure, is not nearly enough anymore. One "approach that the Congress could consider," according to the report, was to "Have the federal government—or allow states or private businesses to—charge drivers directly for their use of roads more often, including charging them more for using roads when traffic is more congested...Charging drivers specifically for using roads would increase economic output by allowing highly valued transportation to move more quickly and more reliably. Such pricing could take the form of per-mile charges (also known as vehicle-miles traveled, or VMT, charges), congestion charges, or tolls on Interstate highways." Treachery abounds!

US marshals shoot innocent man in back ‘execution style’ during raid on wrong address: attorney

A New Mexico attorney accused U.S. marshals this week of shooting a 23-year-old man in the back “execution style” when they arrived at the wrong address to make an arrest.

According to KOB, marshals were attempting to execute an arrest warrant for George Bond in Albuquerque on Saturday, but mistakenly opened fire on a home three trailers away from the suspect’s.

Family of 23-year-old Edgar Alvarado confirmed that he was fatally shot by agents.

“They said that they had made a mistake because he was out there at the wrong time. No such a mistake by killing somebody. There’s no accident,” Perla Alvarado, cousin of the victim, told KOB.

At a press conference on Monday, an attorney for the family accused federal agents of shooting Alvarado four times in the back, the Albuquerque Journal reported.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Unfortunately, the state of New Mexico appears to have devolved from "the land of enchantment" into "the land of assassinations, courtesy of law enforcement".

Military-Funded Study Predicts When You’ll Protest on Twitter

Ever get angry, go to Twitter, and shoot off a protest tweet tagged #Arabspring, #AppleVsFBI, #syrianconflict or something else in solidarity with a cause? Whether the tweet is part of a violent movement, a peaceful action, or simply a response to a debate, military and national security types have an interest in predicting how big any given protest movement might become. A new study by researchers at Arizona State University, Texas A&M, and Yahoo, funded in part by the Office of Naval Research, can predict with 70 percent accuracy the likelihood that your next tweet will be part of a protest.

CIA leaker: Clinton 'given a pass' for emails

A former CIA officer serving jail time for leaking documents to the New York Times accused federal officials of setting a double standard by apparently refusing to aggressively prosecute Hillary Clinton.

Clinton was “a high ranking official who should know better, but completely given a pass, and almost an apologetic pass,” Jeffrey Sterling, who was found guilty of leaking classified information to Times reporter James Risen last year, said in an interview with the Washington Post published on Monday.

“So how should us regular citizens feel, especially with heightened concerns about national security?”
