Masters customers would be sad to see it close

Australia: Arthur Ritchie will be one of those mourning the closure of Masters. While investors cheer the decision from Woolworths to finally cut the troubled business loose, its customers were sad to hear it might shut its doors.

Mr Ritchie, a 72 year old plumber from Box Hill in Melbourne's east, preferred Masters saying it was cheap and quick

"I'd be back to what I'm used to – a lot of travelling – a lot of wasted time whereas now we can have that very quick trip and we can get what we want,"

Two Brothers Opposing Oregon Militia Have Long Family History Seeped in Far-Left Politics, Democratic Operatives

The two brothers spearheading a campaign against the Oregon militia and occupation of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge are far from a mere grassroots organization. Both attorneys, Zachary and Jake Klonoski are two extreme left-wing statists who, not surprisingly, have a long history of being tied up with and working for the government. In addition, both of their parents have a long history of being political operatives for the Democratic party. Their father was a professor and Chairman of the Democratic Party for decades and their mother is a U.S. District Judge appointed by Bill Clinton. Zach works for the Mayor of Portland and Jake is an Army vet who shills for these disastrous undeclared wars, insisting the at the public should be more grateful. Let me introduce you to the Klonoski brothers, who started 'G.O.H.O.M.E. Getting Occupiers of the Historic Oregon Malheur Evicted.'

The Police Stole His House Over $40

In 41 states, police and prosecutors can keep up to 100% of the assets they seize in civil forfeitures, without getting the feds involved. This is “policing for profit” in its purest form—and its use is exploding in these days of budget cutbacks. While there’s no nationwide tally of how much property state, local, and county police authorities seize each year, Washington, D.C. alone confiscated assets worth $254 million in 2012.

Taking Down the Drug War : A Drug War Resistance Fantasy

The war on drugs has turned into policing for profit by giving police the option of prosecuting asset forfeiture cases under federal instead of state law. “Federal forfeiture policies are more permissive than many state policies, allowing police to keep up to 80 percent of assets they seize — even if the people they took from are never charged with a crime,” the Washington Post reported a couple days before Christmas.

Netanyahu Asks Five EU States to Oppose Resolution That Applies 'Double Standard' to Israel

Greece, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Hungary, Czech Republic asked to vote down resolution that sharpens distinction between Israel proper and West Bank settlements.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke to foreign ministers and other leaders of Eastern European and Balkan states on Sunday to persuade them to oppose the resolution being formulated by the EU Foreign Affairs Council, which would sharpen the distinction between Israel and the settlements, a senior official in Jerusalem said.

The resolution is expected to be published Monday, at the conclusion of the council’s meeting in Brussels.

Netanyahu spoke to officials in Greece, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Hungary and the Czech Republic, asking them to oppose the current version of the draft resolution, saying the text was unbalanced and biased against Israel.

Snyder to appeal Obama’s denial of Flint disaster zone

Lansing — Gov. Rick Snyder intends to appeal the Obama administration’s denial of a major disaster declaration in Flint that blocked the governor’s request for $96 million in federal aid for bottled water, faucet filters and replacing lead-leaching pipes.

The move comes as more national attention turns to Flint. On Sunday, civil rights leader the Rev. Jesse Jackson added his voice to the growing chorus of criticism of Flint’s water crisis, calling the city a ‘crime scene.’

“We should have ... tape around the city because Flint is a crime scene,” Jackson said to a packed house at Heavenly Host Baptist Church in Flint. “The people of Flint have been betrayed.”

Microsoft’s new PR idiocy: New PC can only use Windows 10 (not 7 nor 8.1)

Student bans threaten free speech

Free speech is under growing threat at British universities, with serious restrictions on expression at more than half of campuses.

Student unions or universities banned speakers, pressure groups, types of behaviour, songs and even hand gestures on 55 per cent of campuses last year, up from 41 per cent in 2014, according to a new analysis.

Some curbs on free expression were in place at 90 per cent of campuses, compared with 80 per cent the previous year, with the elite Russell Group universities showing high levels of intolerance.

Universities 'are killing free speech', says group of leading academics

Universities are "killing free speech" by banning anything that causes offence, a group of leading academics have warned.

Students are being denied the opportunity to debate opposing views due to political correctness and censorship, the group argued in a letter published in The Telegraph.

Academics led by Frank Furedi, a professor at the University of Canterbury, said universities see students as customers and do not dare to stand against them.

The letter argued universities are curtailing freedom of speech “like never before” and also concluded that “students who are offended by opposing views are perhaps not yet ready to be at university”.

The slow fall of Hillary Clinton

I have no pity for this woman ???? — This was supposed to be her year. Eight years after a previously unknown senator from Illinois snatched the brass ring away from her outstretched claws, the woman who made a career out of being a walking Tammy Wynette lyric was finally going to step out from behind her husband’s considerable shadow and become the most powerful woman — check that, the most powerful human — on the planet. The old girl was so confident that her time had arrived, her campaign message was little more than “it’s her turn” with a side of “she’s female,” as if waiting around for a few decades and having lady parts are all that’s required to captain the ship of state.

Iran Frees Americans as Sanctions Are Lifted, Frustrating Warmongers Around the World

Then came the prisoner swap, followed by the implementation of the nuclear deal. Once lifted, sanctions will be much harder for hawks to reimpose than they were to maintain. In War Games, Navy SEALs Normalize Treating U.S. Citizens as Enemy

United States Navy SEALs planned war games in the state of Washington for mid-January, where they would encroach upon residential areas, state parks, national parks, etc, without the consent of the public. The war games treat citizens as pawns because SEALs were trained to react to citizens as potential terrorists.

One of the most alarming aspects of the war games, which were reported on by Truthout journalist Dahr Jamail, is how it normalizes the idea that U.S. citizens can be enemies. The war games suggest a future where many more military exercises run roughshod over public spaces and soldiers simulate how citizens could pose a danger to them.

Erdogan accuses Iran and Russia of fueling tensions in region

Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has accused Russia and Iran of fueling tensions in the region -- Moscow by continuing to back the regime in Syria and Tehran with its growing confrontation with Riyadh.

"The dangerous course that Russia is now on constitutes a very big problem, not only for itself and the region but also for the world," Erdogan said on Tuesday in a speech to Turkish ambassadors gathered for a conference in Ankara.

"Russia's operations in Syria, the real purpose of which is to keep the al-Assad regime in power, are making regional problems deeper," the Hurriyet Daily News quoted him as saying.

Both Iran and Russia directly back the Syrian regime of President Bashar al-Assad which Turkey opposes. Iran funds the regime and has sent militias in to fight on its behalf.

Russia directly intervened militarily last September and has been bombing forces opposed to Assad ever since.

Webmaster's Commentary:

REALLY, Recep?!?!?

And Turkey's bombing of a Russian fighter jet has just calmed things down enormously, right?!?

(AHEM). It is time for the adults in the room to collectively cool their jets, and think about how tensions can and should be calmed in the region.

Saudi Arabia's execution of the noted cleric, whose only crime was his criticism of the Saudi government, was a provocation, to which Iran didn't respond. It wasn't the government of Iran which caused the burning of the Saudi consulate in Tehran; it was a mob of angry people, some of whom have been arrested by the Iranian government.

It appears that Erdogan is wanting to provoke both Iran and Russia toward a global confrontation.

And that will do no one any good right now.

The Top Forecaster Of The Canadian Dollar Sees The Loonie Falling To 59 Cents By The End Of The Year

Our loonie is heading for a record low with the central bank poised to cut interest rates again as commodity prices collapse to the lowest since 1991, manufacturing stalls and consumers remain buried in debt, according to the currency’s top forecaster.

The currency will fall to a record low 59 U.S. cents by the end of 2016, Macquarie Group Ltd.’s David Doyle, Bloomberg’s top-ranked forecaster for the Canadian dollar last year, said.

A 59 U.S. cent loonie would mean one U.S. dollar buys C$1.6949. Doyle said that once the currency reaches its record low, it will stay depressed through the end of 2018.

Banks give back China investment quotas as clients bypass the middlemen

***
While China's move to open up its capital markets and allow its currency to trade more freely has created opportunities for global banks, these developments are also threatening to kill off niches where they have acted as middlemen to give previously excluded foreign investors backdoor access to the mainland.

Several banks, including Barclays, Commerzbank , Norway's SEB and the Netherlands' ING , handed back just over $800 million in quota granted by Chinese authorities under the Qualified Foreign Institutional Investor (QFII) scheme between April and September 2015, public data shows.
***
The move does not reflect a waning appetite for investment in China, however, despite its slowing economy; overall quotas for QFII have quadrupled to about $81 billion since 2010.

Rickman edited and directed a play in 2005 titled “My Name Is Rachel Corrie,” based on the life of a 23-year-old American activist who was killed by an Israeli soldier.

Would YOU drink this? People of Flint share horrifying pictures of the water they were told was safe as they turn on the governor

Drinking supplies were found to contain lead that had leached from old plumbing after the city switched sources to save money
There were 87 confirmed Legionnaires' cases, including 10 deaths, from June 2014 to November 2015, compared to only 21 cases in 2012 and 2013
Michigan health officials said they can't conclude that the increase was related to Flint's water
Flint pulled water from its river for 18 months until last fall but didn't use treatments that could have reduced corrosion and removed contaminants
Local officials declared a public health emergency in October in response to elevated levels of lead in children
Lead can cause behavior problems and learning disabilities in children as well as kidney ailments in adults

The stomach-churning pictures of discolored drinking water that has come out of the taps of the residents of Flint, Michigan has been flooding social media.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Every city, county, and state official who signed off on making the change to this horrific water source should be tried by a jury of their peers for reckless public endangerment, sentenced, and serve hard jail time for what they have done.

Lead poisoning is irreversible, and for parents who will never see their kids achieve their full potential, the emotional pain must be beyond comprehension.

It is very obvious to me that the people of Flint were completely irrelevant to the people who made this decision. And why?!?

Flint is still caught in the grip of grinding poverty, ever since GM left, back in the 80s. It also has an appalling crime rate, which makes it very dangerous.

When there is a rationale that people don't matter, because they live in a poor, high crime neighborhood, some very, vilely evil decisions can be made by city and county officials, to save a few bucks.

Heading for Catastrophe? What May Force Riyadh to Unleash War Against Iran

Will Saudi Arabia seek war with Iran? Growing economic and political pressure may prompt the impulsive royal family to unleash a war against its longstanding Shiite rival, American author Daniel Lazare believes.

Saudi-Iranian tensions continue to escalate; although Riyadh keeps asserting the international community that it has no intention to push Saudi Arabia to the brink of war, there are certain preconditions for a full-scale conflict, according to author Daniel Lazare.

"The ruling family is under unprecedented strain. Its economy is shrinking; it's bogged down in a seemingly endless war in Yemen; and its human-rights policies are an international scandal. If countries could have nervous breakdowns, Saudi Arabia would be well on its way. And when breakdowns occur, nations do crazy things," Lazare writes in his piece for Consortiumnews.com.

Webmaster's Commentary:

the Iranian leadership has handled itself with calm and class, leading to a successful negotiation of the P5+1 Agreement, and sanctions against the country will end in a matter of days.

My nightmare scenario is that, in its geopolitical and financial distress, Saudi Arabia will create a false flag action to be blamed against Iran, invoking US (and covert Israeli) support for it against Iran, with Russian military supporting Iran, and a full-scale, world war ensues.

I would like to hope that some adults in the room of global politics (Calling President Vladimir Putin, white courtesy telephone please!)will prevent this from happening.

And the hell of it is, the US government is frantically seeking to engage in a war, ANY WAR, to misdirect the coming boiling public outrage about the deteriorating economic situation on to a false villain.

Brutal Crackdown on Kurds Shows Erdogan’s Desire for ‘Dictatorship’

The ongoing crackdown on Kurds in southeastern Turkey shows that President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is working to set up a dictatorship in the country, Hatip Dicle, the co-chair of Pro-Kurdish Democratic Society Congress (DTK), told Sputnik in an interview.

"They [the Erdogan government] call it a "presidential form of government," but in fact it's pure dictatorship. The Turkish government wants to formally introduce the dictatorial form of government in the country," Dicle said.

The Kurdish issue is getting worse every day. People in the country are worried and want to know what steps Erdogan's government would take next after an attack, allegedly carried out by Kurds, last night in the province of Diyarbakir.

Official PKK representatives said they would like to sit at the negotiation table with the government. The PKK also intends to keep pushing for the idea of democratic autonomy for Kurds living in Turkey.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I would not put it past Erdogan to declare a complete genocide against the Kurds, rather than come to the negotiating table, and create something that actually works, in terms of at least some limited autonomy for its Kurdish population.

And if Edrogan chooses genocide, it will create an absolute civil war in Turkey.

The Ascendance of Sociopaths in U.S. Governance

As any intelligent observer surveys the world’s economic and political landscape, he has to be disturbed - even dismayed and a bit frightened - by the gravity and number of problems that mark the horizon. We’re confronted by economic depression, looming financial chaos, serious currency inflation, onerous taxation, crippling regulation, a developing police state, and, worst of all, the prospect of a major war. It seems almost unbelievable that all these things could affect the U.S., which historically has been the land of the free.

How did we get here?

The reason is that a certain class of people - sociopaths - are now fully in control of major American institutions. Their beliefs and attitudes are insinuated throughout the economic, political, intellectual, and psychological/spiritual fabric of the U.S.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The problem, as defined in the last paragraph stated here, is that the process of dictatorship has well and truly been engraved into law already; between the Patriot Act; the Homeland Security Act; the NDAA, the freedoms which used to be afforded to American citizens have been eviscerated to almost the point of non-existence.

9/11 was the apex of this manufactured changed, from a governmental managed and staged event, which was the horrific destruction of lives and buildings on that terrible day. It was all a fake, and a fraud, through which to "shock and awe" the American people into the cowed acceptance of the "big brother surveillance state", and lay the ground work for infinite, endless wars, ultimately for private profit.

I know I sound like a chipped CD on this, but people with intelligence, skills and kids, please get out of this country before it is too late; the window for such an action is narrowing exponentially.

What Accounts for the Saudi Regime’s Hysterical Belligerence? The Agony of Death

The Saudi rulers find themselves in a losing race against time, or history. Although in denial, they cannot but realize the historical reality that the days of ruling by birthright are long past, and that the House of Saud as the ruler of the kingdom by inheritance is obsolete.

This is the main reason for the Saudi’s frantically belligerent behavior. The hysteria is tantamount to the frenzy of the proverbial agony of a prolonged death. It explains why they react so harshly to any social or geopolitical development at home or in the region that they perceive as a threat to their rule.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The question has to be asked regarding Saudi Arabia; after the House of Saud no longer governs one of the most oil-rich regions on the earth, what replaces it as a mechanism of government?!?

SECRETS OF THE FEDERAL RESERVE - PDF BOOK

Here are the simple facts of the great betrayal. Wilson and House knew that they were doing something momentous. One cannot fathom men’s motives and this pair probably believed in what they were up to. What they did not believe in was representative government. FEDERAL AGENTS TAKE DISABLED VETERAN’S CHILD BECAUSE HE TREATED HIS PTSD WITH MARIJUANA

Disabled Navy veteran Raymond Schwab moved to Colorado last year to free himself from addictions that grew out of the pharmaceuticals prescribed by the VA to treat his service-related physical and psychological injuries.

As Veterans for Medical Cannabis Access points out, medical cannabis is an effective treatment for veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), where other drugs fail. Veterans are successfully treating themselves despite the federal government’s prohibition.

Because Schwab is legally using medicinal cannabis in Colorado, officials in prohibitionist Kansas have abducted five of his children, ranging from 5 to 16 years of age.

The ransom demanded by the Kansas “child protection” bureaucracy is a promise that Schwab will refrain from using cannabis, and four months of “clean” urinalysis test results.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is completely insane, on the part of the Federal government, but demonstrates, once again, that pharmaceutical company profits cannot be allowed to be threatened by effective, natural treatment for PTSD.

The Ascendance of Sociopaths in U.S. Governance

***
In this article, I’m going to argue that the U.S. government, in particular, has been overrun by the wrong kind of person. It’s a trend that’s been in motion for many years but has now reached a point of no return. In other words, a type of moral rot has become so prevalent that it’s institutional in nature. There is not going to be, therefore, any serious change in the direction in which the U.S. is headed until a genuine crisis topples the existing order. Until then, the trend will accelerate.

The reason is that a certain class of people - sociopaths - are now fully in control of major American institutions. Their beliefs and attitudes are insinuated throughout the economic, political, intellectual, and psychological/spiritual fabric of the U.S.

Netanyahu to Brazil: Settler leader only ambassador we’ll offer

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said if Brazil won’t approve former settler leader Dani Dayan as its ambassador, Israel won’t offer another diplomat.

Israel not having an ambassador in Brazil would represent a de facto downgrade in relations between the two countries, the TV report said.

Netanyahu’s apparent decision to stand by Dayan comes a week after various reports that Israel would withdraw Dayan’s name and instead give him the Israeli consulate general position in Los Angeles or New York.

Earlier this week, a group of 40 retired Brazilian diplomats signed a statement against the appointment of Dayan, complaining that Israel had bypassed protocol because there was no prior communication with the Brazilian Foreign Ministry or any presentation of his credentials for an agreement.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Given this ultimatum from the characteristically insolent and hubristic Netanyahu, I doubt that the government of Brazil is going to fold on their decision here.

The latest customer complaint making the rounds might be one of the most frustrating ones we’ve seen though, namely because it will likely only impact the savviest of Comcast’s Internet users, and it appears to be completely impossible to prevent.

That’s right, Comcast customers, get ready for an unstoppable wave of spam-like pop-ups in your web browser courtesy of your favorite Internet service provider.

Two Smoking Guns: FBI on Hillary’s Case

Before she was entrusted with any state secrets – indeed, on her first full day as secretary of state – Clinton received instruction from FBI agents on how to safeguard them; and she signed an oath swearing to comply with the laws commanding the safekeeping of these secrets. She was warned that the failure to safeguard secrets – known as espionage – would most likely result in aggressive prosecution.

In the cases of others, those threats have been carried out. The Obama Department of Justice prosecuted a young sailor for espionage for sending a selfie to his girlfriend, because in the background of the photo was a view of a sonar screen on a submarine. It prosecuted a heroic Marine for espionage for warning his superiors of the presence of an al-Qaida operative in police garb inside an American encampment in Afghanistan, because he used a Gmail account to send the warning.

Webmaster's Commentary:

While I seriously doubt that Clinton will be prosecuted (after all, she is one of the most corruptly entitled, rich, and politically elite members of her peer circle), these charges may well derail her candidacy in a really nasty and serious way.

Violence Against Anti-Zionist Protesters At Presidential Campaign Rallies Needs To Be Preempted

The neocons seem very happy that the heckler who shouted "Marco Rubio is owned by Jews!" was violently attacked. The guy behind the heckler, who looked literally like Brutus from the Popeye cartoons, immediately attacked the heckler and pulled him to the ground, to cheers from the crowd and laughs from Rubio himself. It's outrageous how quickly these thugs resort to violence, it's very disgusting. When I shouted at Donald Trump about the Israelis arrested on 9/11, I wasn't attacked at all, despite being surrounded by 9,000 Trump fans whom Trump himself called 'maniacs' at that very rally. I will explain why. I took several preemptive measures. Common sense warns us to take action in order to prevent an anticipated event from happening.

Cops Tased A Mentally Ill Non-Criminal To Death, And They Can't Be Prosecuted

Three North Carolina police officers used excessive force when they Tased a mentally ill man to death while taking him into custody, but they are nevertheless immune from prosecution because they didn't think they were violating the man's rights at the time, the Fourth Circuit ruled.

On April 23, 2011, Ronald Armstrong, who had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and paranoid schizophrenia, was off his medication and poking holes in his leg "to let the air out," his sister, Jinia Armstrong Lopez said in a complaint filed in May 2013.

Lopez said she took her brother to Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, N.C., but when he was being evaluated, he became frightened and ran from the emergency room.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Never, EVER involve the police in the subduing of a mentally ill person; chances are they will die in police custody before they can ever get the help they need, and apparently can do this with impunity, with no ethical responsibility being laid for having caused the death.

Meet The Only Republican Who Voted Against Audit The Fed Bill: U.S. Senator Bob Corker

63-year-old Robert Phillips "Bob" Corker, Jr. from Tennessee is the only Republican Senator who actually voted against the Audit the Fed bill. Despite posing as a 'fiscal conservative,' Corker's record speaks for itself and proves the opposite. He is in favor of a carbon tax. He opposes tax cuts, he opposed a measure to get rid of the 18-cents-per-gallon federal gasoline tax. He heartily endorsed the 2008 Wall Street bailout and supports taxing people for online purchases. He wants to provide over a BILLION dollars, from the tax slaves, in Homeland Security grants to states! Corker is also a rabid Zionist who strongly supports sanctions on Iran He also opposes trials for those suspected of terrorism. On his official Senate website, Corker drones on about Washington's "mounting debt" but never addresses the head of the snake, the federal reserve, and the fact that we borrow money at interest from a private central bank. Bob Corker is an absolute fraud and a criminal.

Mike Huckabee: Poor Americans will be better off if we treat them like we ‘train dogs’

Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee argued on Thursday that the “common sense” way to improve the economy was to treat taxpayers the with same techniques used to “train dogs.”

“That’s how I raise kids, it’s how I trained our dogs. And folks, it’s not that difficult.”

However, the Tax Policy Center determined last year that Huckabee’s plan would actually punish the poorest Americans.

“The problem is that very high-income households spend only a fraction of their income, while low- and middle-income people spend all or most of what they make,” the Tax Policy Center observed. “A sales tax, by design, exempts a large share of income at the top. If it includes a prebate to protect people at the bottom and doesn’t add to the deficit, then it must raise taxes on people in the middle.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

"...Like dogs", Governor?!?

That you so much for sharing with America's electorate just how you really feel about them, sir!!!!!

Dogs that need to be trained, are we?!?!?

No, we really get it; we really do get in what utter contempt you hold all American voters, to use that analogy.

A large study conducted in the United Kingdom failed to find evidence of a robust link between cannabis use and lowered intelligence among teenagers. The study, published online January 6 in the Journal of Psychopharmacology, found a statistical association between cannabis use and decreased intellectual performance. However, this association vanished when the researchers took other variables into account. “The notion that cannabis use itself is causally related to lower IQ and poorer educational performance was not supported in this large teenage sample,” wrote Claire Mokrysz of the University College London and her colleagues.

PRINCETON STUDY SAYS U.S. NO LONGER AN ACTUAL DEMOCRACY

A groundbreaking study from Princeton University is causing a lot of controversy, but its findings are undeniable.

The university study explain that U.S. democracy is pure fiction. That is, the researchers explain, it simply does not exist.

The scholars behind the study asked the question: “[w]ho really rules?”

Researchers Martin Gilens along with Benjamin I. Page concluded that over the past few decades in particular, the U.S. political system has gradually changed in a way that has warped the Democratic Republic into a nearly pure oligarchy, where the elite 1% rule with almost total influence and control over the government and even police state apparatus.

The researchers drew data from over 1,800 different policy initiatives dating from 1981 to 2002. They concluded that wealthy, well-connected families are the ones who steer the direction of nearly everything politically in the United States.

EMAILS EXPOSE CLOSE TIES BETWEEN HILLARY CLINTON AND ACCUSED WAR CRIMINAL HENRY KISSINGER

“I greatly admire the skill and aplomb with which you conduct our foreign policy,” wrote Henry Kissinger in a 2012 letter to “the Honorable Hillary Rodham Clinton.” The compliment was included as a handwritten postscript added to the printed letter.

The Feb. 7 letter, which was released in a batch of emails from former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, is a request that she help declassify documents from Kissinger’s time as secretary of state, which he says constitute “a unique record of a critical period in American foreign policy.”

Critics say Kissinger helped carry out egregious war crimes in this critical period, during which he served as secretary of state under presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford.

Broken Promises On Display At Native American Treaties Exhibit

For centuries, treaties have defined the relationship between many Native American nations and the U.S. More than 370 ratified treaties have helped the U.S. expand its territory and led to many broken promises made to American Indians.

A rare exhibit of such treaties at the Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian in Washington, D.C., looks back at this history. It currently features one of the first compacts between the U.S. and Native American nations – the Treaty of Canandaigua.

Broken Treaties 101

The United States has a long history in which it abused its relative power over other populations. Its relations with Native Americans were no different in this regard. The United States frequently signed and committed itself to treaties with Native Americans that they repeatedly broke, a practice that has been present in American policy since its inception.

Native Americans without Treaties

One of the largest groups of Native Americans without a treaty of recognition with the US are the Native Hawaiians—the native people that inhabited the State of Hawaii. Though it is undisputed that the Native Hawaiians are a native people—people that are indigenous to the land they now live on that were there before any contact with the US or European explorers—the Hawaiians are not what lawyers call a recognized tribe.

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s call Tuesday to increase taxes on the wealthy and close “loopholes” didn’t address the candidate’s own moves to shield at least part of the value of her New York home from the estate tax.

The International War on Cash

Governments might collectively attempt to eliminate paper currency in favour of an electronic currency – transferred from party to party solely through licensed banks. Sound farfetched? Well, maybe, but what if the U.S. and EU agreed on an overall plan, then suggested it to other governments? On the face of it, this smacks of conspiracy theory, yet certainly, all governments would benefit from this control and would be likely to get on board. In fact, it might prove to be the only way out of their present economic problems.

EXCLUSIVE: Textbook sales leader says national Common Core education standards are 'all about the money' as teacher insists bureaucrats created a 'new f**king system that f**king sucks to sell more books'

The guerrilla video crew that exposed Obamaphone cheaters and shut down the left-wing advocacy group ACORN is at it again, this time hammering the 'Common Core' education standards as a scheme for publishers to sell more textbooks.

The West Coast sales manager from one of the nation's biggest school book sellers, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, told an undercover muckraker with Project Veritas that 'I hate kids.'

'I'm in it to sell books,' Dianne Barrow said of her advocacy for Common Core. 'Don't even kid yourself for a heartbeat.'

She added that 'it's all about the money. What are you, crazy? It's all about the money.'

FLASHBACK - Awaken slaves! - How The Private Central Bank Ponzi Scheme Trapped And Destroyed America

Once upon a time, in 1913, a corrupt Congress and a corrupt President transferred the money creation authority vested in the government by the Constitution to a private central bank. It was going to be called the Third Bank of the United States. Such a fundamental change to the nation's economy should have required a Constitutional Amendment. But earlier that same year, there had been a huge fight to ratify another Amendment, the 16th Amendment authorizing the income tax, and there is good reason to suspect that the 16th Amendment actually failed ratification even though the payers of that income tax were told otherwise.

"I think if you were to go back and and try to find and review the ratification of the 16th amendment, which was the internal revenue, the income tax, I think if you went back and examined that carefully, you would find that a sufficient number of states never ratified that amendment." - U.S. District Court Judge James C. Fox, Sullivan Vs. United States, 2003.

Obama’s Final State of the Union: Lies, Evasions and Threats

The final State of the Union speech delivered Tuesday night by President Barack Obama was a demonstration of the incapacity of the American political system to deal honestly or seriously with a single social question.

Obama evaded the real issues that affect tens of millions of working people in America every day of their lives. He painted a ludicrous picture of economic recovery and social progress that insulted the intelligence of his television audience—and went unchallenged by the millionaire politicians assembled in the chamber of the House of Representatives.

Summing up what he called “the progress of these past seven years,” Obama gave first place to “how we recovered from the worst economic crisis in generations.” The so-called “recovery” has been a bonanza for corporate profits, stock prices, and the wealth and income of the super-rich. For the working people who are the vast majority of the population, it has been a disaster.

Webmaster's Commentary:

There are only two words I can think of which characterise President Obama's SOTU speech yesterday: complete disconnect.

This man and his administration are completely disconnected from the blood on their hands from various military misadventures around the world, in interventions which made the situations in these countries worse. Think about Somalia; Iran; Libya, and Afghanistan, and you'll get the picture.

Military spending, and the spending for weapons systems has escalated wildly under Obama's watch, while benefits and health care for our Vets has been brutally stripped away.

Obama has cemented the Surveillance State into law in this country, with any real right to privacy well and truly flushed; he has eviscerated the Constitution and Bill of Rights almost worse than did his predecessor.

Ask most people in the US, particularly those who get up in the mornings, and still have a job to go to, about how well they have done, economically, under Obama's watch; wages are flat, inflation (particularly that in food and healthcare) has skyrocketed, and discretionary spending doesn't even exist, for some of these folks.

And the inconvenient truth about this man, at the end of the day, is that he is no less beholden to the huge corporations and the banks then are his Republican colleagues.

Gaza activists' lawsuit argues Israel attacked US territory in raid on ship

Four activists are attempting to make legal history by arguing that Israel attacked American territory when it raided a US-registered ship carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza six years ago.

The group said they were shot with rubber bullets, Tasered and handcuffed by masked commandos during a “terrifying” midnight assault on their vessel, part of a flotilla seeking to break Israel’s naval blockade in 2010. One was injured by a stun grenade that exploded one foot from his head, he said, causing permanent partial loss of sight in one eye.

Several legal actions have been launched since the May 2010 incident, in which nine Turkish activists died on the Mavi Marmara ship, but none have succeeded. In 2014, the international criminal court decided not to investigate because the alleged crimes were not considered to be of “sufficient gravity”.

Webmaster's Commentary:

These are very brave people, and I hope and pray that their lawsuit is successfully won.

The Biggest Threat

The headlines are filled with the latest alleged threat posed by ISIS – a band of savages thousands of miles away that, at most, has the capacity to inspire the crazies in our midst to acts of relatively smalltime violence.

Relative, that is, to the real threat of violence, which emanates from our own “defense” policies as formulated in Washington, D.C. – the very real and growing threat of nuclear war.

In short, the world is rapidly becoming a much more dangerous place. And it’s not because of ISIS, or the “terrorist threat” – it’s due to our policy of global intervention, which requires a “forward stance” that includes rattling the nuclear saber.

Why do we have over 7,000 nukes in our arsenal – enough to destroy the world several times over? Why are the contracts for “modernization” speeding through the procedural hoops faster than anyone can keep track of them?

Webmaster's Commentary:

Ultimately, the cold, clear eye of historical perspective will judge President Obama as one of the most Machiavellian, sociopathic warmongers of the 21st century.

I am willing to bet the the Nobel Committee which awarded him the Nobel Peace Prize is collectively wringing their hands about how lousy a decision they made in awarding him what had previously been a rather significant global accolade.

42% OF AMERICANS DITCH TWO-PARTY SYSTEM, SAY GOVERNMENT IS BIGGEST PROBLEM

United States — More people in the United States than ever are breaking away from the political duopoly by refusing to self-identify as either Democrat or Republican — and they now effectively comprise the true silent majority: Independents.

According to a Gallup poll released Monday, for 2015, just 29% of respondents call themselves Democrats, while 26% identify as Republicans — but fully 42% say ‘nay’ to both parties and claim to be Independents, down only marginally from 43% last year. Indeed, Independents as a group reached 40% of the population for the first time in 2011, and have comprised at least that percentage since then.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It's very simple; Americans understand that they have been betrayed by both parties to the point where their standard of living has been shoved under the proverbial bus, while huge corporations and banks (which own our alleged Congressional Representatives) get richer.

Supreme Court won’t force DHS to reveal secret plan to cut cell service

The Supreme Court is setting aside a petition from the Electronic Privacy Information Center that demanded the Department of Homeland Security release the US government's secret plan to shutter mobile phone service during disasters.

The top court, without comment, refused Monday to review a federal appeals court's May ruling that the DHS did not have to divulge the full contents of Standard Operating Procedure 303. That court held that the government could withhold the plan's contents under the Freedom of Information Act if its disclosure would "endanger" public safety.

We were also suspended and got a couple of videos removed over a month ago. FEAR-MONGERING DHS CHAIMAN CLAIM TERRORISTS COULD TARGET MALLS, DISNEY WORLD ETC.

Police State America will stoop to any level to profit from the war on terror, even writing books that claim terrorist attacks are imminent.

Chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee Michael McCaul's new novel claims, terrorists could easily target Disney World, the Academy Awards and shopping centers like the Mall of America with biological attacks.

DHS's latest fear-mongering book is titled Failures of Imagination: The Deadliest Threats to Our Homeland--and How to Thwart Them.

McCaul's book describes a woman using a fan to spread smallpox at Disneyworld or possibly in a mall.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A short memo to Michael McCaul and his minions; should such a catastrophe happen, it will be proof positive that you and every, single alphabet soup agency tasked to protect the American people are totally impotent to stop such an attack, and you, and they, should be fired immediately from your respective jobs.

The American people have already lost far too many freedoms in the name of alleged "homeland security", and if you all fail to prevent such an attack, the same thing should happen to you all as happens in private enterprise; a good, thorough sacking.

French government considers law that would outlaw strong encryption

The French Parliament is considering a legislative provision that would ban strong encryption by requiring tech companies to configure their systems so that police and intelligence agencies could always access their data.

Webmaster's Commentary:

... along with spies, hackers and other criminals who will find and use those back doors! Meanwhile, real criminals and terrorists will simply write their own systems of encryption which the police will not be able to break (we proved that on whatreallyhappened.com with six challenges to the NSA, all of which went unsolved) so the law-abiding citizens have their personal and business secrets exposed to no point whatsoever!
