Arlington grave mix-ups may be worse than thought

As many 6,600 graves at Arlington National Cemetery may be "unmarked, improperly marked or mislabeled" on cemetery maps, Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Missouri, said Thursday.

Cemetery officials had previously estimated just 211 were mislabeled.

Webmaster's Commentary:

From Braveheart To Big Fan

We are now taught that feelings of hatred and anger are things that should be criminalized, and if you raise your voice anywhere outside of a sports stadium, you could very well be forced to take some anger management classes. Do it within earshot of a police officer and you just might get yourself a beat down, a tasering— or even worse—you just might get shot.

I wonder how things would have worked out for the people of Scotland, had they used their “indoor voice” when negotiating with their English oppressors, some 700 odd years ago. “Calm down,” “chill out,” “walk it off” and “take it easy” are quotes you don’t often associate with that era.

A Little BPA Along with Your Change?

This spring, researchers at Environmental Working Group collected 36 samples of cash register receipts from fast food restaurants, big retailers, grocery stores, gas stations and post offices in seven states and the District of Columbia and had them tested by a renowned lab. The lab found that 40 percent had high levels of the endocrine-disrupting chemical BPA, which has been the target of nationwide efforts to ban it in food and beverage containers, especially those used by babies and children. Animal tests show that BPA, a plastics hardener that is also a synthetic estrogen, can cause reproductive and behavioral abnormalities and lower intellectual ability, as well as setting the stage for cancers, obesity, diabetes, asthma and heart disease.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio: I'll Enforce Arizona's Immigration Law

Sheriff Joe Arpaio, the controversial top cop in Maricopa County, Ariz., tells Newsmax he will jail any protesters who attempt to block his jail on Thursday when provisions of his state’s tough new immigration law take effect.

Arpaio also says it’s “great” if undocumented aliens react to the new law and his strict anti-illegal immigration agenda by moving back to Mexico or to the “sanctuary state” of California, and challenges President Barack Obama to invite him to the White House for a “wine summit” to discuss illegal immigration.

Guarded Israeli settlers seize new house in Jerusalem neighborhood

One of the neighbors reported that the residents of the neighborhood rushed to confront the Israeli assailants when women inside the house screamed for help, but the policemen encircled the house to prevent them from approaching.

Jul 29 09:13

Fatah official for Jerusalem Affairs Hatem Abdel Qader told Ma’an Radio on Thursday afternoon the the documents presented to police were fake. He said that the families who entered the homes were part of a Jewish group that lost a lawsuit in 1996, wherein they sought to take over the same home but failed to sufficiently prove ownership.

Palestinian defendants proved to an Israseli court that the home was owned by Kamal Handal and rented by Qarsh family, Abdel Qader said.

Michigan oil spill a replay of Gulf spill?

It’s looking like the oil spill from a pipeline into the Talmadge Creek in Calhoun County is going to be a replay of the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico in at least one respect — the companies, aided by the government, do not want the media to have access to take pictures and video of what is going on.

Obama sneaks in UN Treaty by Executive Order.

Because of the decades of difficulty that the collectivists have had trying to ratify the Law Of Sea Treaty (LOST), Obama is sneaking it in through the back door, by way of this Executive Order establishing the Council. Weapons Buried at Sea: Big, Poorly Understood Problem

In June, a clam boat happened upon some old military munitions off the coast of Long Island, New York. Mustard gas, released when the fishermen inadvertently hauled in the shells, blistered one crew member and reminded government officials, scientists and the public of the weapons arsenal that is buried deep below the surface of the world's oceans.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is a major problem here in Hawaii. At the end of WW2 a lot of very nasty stuff got dumped into the local oceans. The dump sites are marked on the local maritime charts, but as these munitions corrode, chemicals leach into the sea water and into the local food chain. Even the USS Arizona is leaking an oil slick.

More than 800,000 gallons of oil spilled Monday into the Kalamazoo River, a major waterway that flows into Lake Michigan, about 60 miles away. The leak came from a 30-inch pipeline that carries millions of gallons of oil each day from Griffith, Ind., to Sarnia, Ontario.

Mainstream Media Helps BP Pretend There's No Oil

I sent one text message to Bloomberg's Lizzie O'Leary, who's standing on Grand Isle, Louisiana, right now, asking how the beach looks. "Lower part past the barrier untouched with globs of oil that washed up last night," she said. By "untouched," she means by cleanup crews, and that "barrier" she's talking about is the one the press isn't allowed past. I sent another text to Drew Wheelan, who's also in Southwestern Louisiana, doing bird surveys for the American Birding Association, asking him how big the biggest tar mat on Grand Terre—the scene of those now famous horrifying oiled-bird photos—is. "20 feet by 15," he said. "But bigger ones submerged slightly."

Webmaster's Commentary:

There is a new reality show on A&E called "Billy the Exterminator", and while I don't think it will have the legs that "Dog the Bounty Hunter" has, last night they did a special show on the destruction in the Louisiana wetlands in which they went deep into the marshes on air boats and saw how bad the damage is. There is no way that the oil has simply "gone away" between the time they shot the episode and last night when it aired. I could see from the editing this one was rushed through post.

One rather interesting aspect is that the guy who was leading them around the marshes told Billy that they were under orders not to try to save any animals. They were supposed to call a special phone number with a GPS coordinate for the animal, and "eventually" someone would come de-oil the critter. Of course, the implication is that nobody ever shows up , and in any case the animal would be long gone by the time they do. Even though he was told he would get into trouble for it, Billy managed to save a raccoon and get it to a cleanup center.

But the point of all this is, the claims that the oil has just gone away is purely a political exercise to limit BP's financial liability in the case, and to save the Democrats in November.

Meanwhile, all of my readers are requested to send in photographs (preferably with a date and time stamp) of all the oil you can still see on the beaches and waters starting today and continuing until the oil really is cleaned up. Please report all instances where cameras are being blocked from approaching possible oil spills.

End Middle East Wars To Spur Economy

The solution to our fiscal crisis, The Nation magazine editorializes, is to “end the wars, allow the tax cuts to expire and restore robust growth.” That’s because nearly the entire deficit this year and those projected at least for the short term are the result of “the ongoing wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, the Bush tax cuts and the recession,” the publication says in its lead editorial of August 2nd.

Yet, while the Obama administration has just pushed through $59 billion more to send 30,000 more troops into Afghanistan to intensify that war and for "nation-building", it has done way too little to help the States maintain needed jobs. “Spending on local projects plummets,” was a June 25th headline in “USA Today.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Many observers have noted that we are already in the early stages of what future history will view as the third World War. I would add to that observation that the same future history will observe that we are already losing it.

That we have been put on a wartime economy is beyond question. Trillions of dollars are being spent on the machinery of death while support for life ebbs daily across this nation. As George Bernard Shaw observed, there is nothing in man;s industry but his greed and his sloth; his heart is in his weapons. Forget the speeches; what a government truly wants is what they will spend the peoples' money on.

So who is winning these wars, and who is losing? Victors are for history and white flags to determine, but I already see who is losing this war. We have fifty acres of tents down at the bottom of this hill filled with the victims of the3se lost wars. Although the rich rulers may never feel the sting, the fact is that every business that closes, every home that is foreclosed, every job that is lost is a victory for the enemy and a defeat for this nation. It does not matter who wears the ribbons and medals; those who pay the costs of wars look pretty much the same on all sides of the conflict, living looted lives while burying their children. Textbooks will point to one group and say they are the better for having achieved victory, while this other group are inferior because they were forced to surrender, but in truth the people on both sides of war are always the losers, while the powerful count the riches looted during the confusion and count themselves clever indeed for it all.

But the truth is that WW3 has already begun, and the USA has already lost it. Take a look around you at the shattered economy, the abandoned factories, the poverty, the decay, the homelessness, and tell me that it could be otherwise.

The Sinaloa Cartel, headed by Chapo Guzman and others, is reaping huge profits doing business along the border. The average coyote charges $1500 - $2500 to guide an illegal alien north to find work; usually abandoning them a short distance north of the line. The Sinking of the Cheonan and Its Political Uses

The centerpiece of the case against North Korea is without doubt the torpedo fragments retrieved by trawlers. At the JIG press conference announcing the results of its investigation, a diagram said to be that of the CHT-02D was displayed. It was not until over one month later, after critics had pointed to discrepancies between the diagram and the torpedo fragments, that the JIG admitted that it had shown a diagram of the wrong torpedo, the PT-97W. This was said to have been caused by a "mix-up by a staff member while preparing for the presentation." (11) That such a mistake could be made is indicative of a careless attitude concerning evidence.

Wikileaks’ estranged co-founder becomes a critic

Cryptome’s history of publicizing leaks–while not yielding to pressure to remove them–is what led Young to be invited to join Wikileaks before its launch over three years ago. He also agreed to be the public face of the organization by listing his name on the domain name registration.

Operating a Web site to post leaked documents isn’t very expensive (Young estimates he spends a little over $100 a month for Cryptome’s server space). So when other Wikileaks founders started to talk about the need to raise $5 million and complained that an initial round of publicity had affected “our delicate negotiations with the Open Society Institute and other funding bodies,” Young says, he resigned from the effort.

Tax Liens Up 200%, With 26% IRS Error Rate

Webmaster's Commentary:

Setting aside the 26% error rate, this serves as a reminder that We The People have run out of money with which to pay the ever-increasing taxes. If we don't have it, we don't have it, and we do not have it. The US Government threw away our manufacturing over the last 30 years, gave tax incentives to corporations to offshore high-paying jobs at the same time the national debt was being run up to bail out Wall Street from the derivatives mess; a crisis created when Congress repealed the Glass-Steagal act in 1999. In other words, the US Government could not have wrecked the US economy any more if it had tried. And now that it is an unsalvageable mess, the only thing the government can think to do is to l9ot the people, loot the people, loot the people.

Abandoning the Manufacturing Sector

We can argue all we like about the practicality of regular citizens making national policy, but one thing can’t be disputed: If regular citizens had been running the show, they never would have abandoned our manufacturing base. They never would have agreed to enrich international oligarchies at the expense of the American economy.

Taking the greatest manufacturing power in the history of the world and dismantling it—relegating it to the role of industrial “spectator”—is something that working people would never allow to happen. Never. Only the U.S. Congress would see the wisdom in pissing away something that took 150 years to build.

Aid, Solidarity, and the Search for Accountability

A central aspect of the BDS message is that, in a world as interconnected and integrated as ours is, this conflict is not simply local, isolated to an argument between Israelis and Palestinians. With our global economy and webs of commerce and technology, many of us are complicit in the crimes that are perpetrated against Palestinians. It is therefore, the responsibility of individuals and communities globally to examine the ways in which their actions facilitate this conflict. BDS is thus an attempt to hold, not only Israel, but the international community accountable as well.

Israeli historian Benny Morris is famous for being part of the “New Historians” of Israel that exposed a great deal of Zionist myths about the founding of the state of Israel, including the falsehood that leaders of surrounding Arab states told Palestinians to leave their homes, and that they listened. The truth, of course, is that there was a deliberate policy of expulsion carried about by Jewish forces, and that many Palestinians fled and became refugees because they were fearful for their lives.

Disputed chemical bisphenol-A found in paper receipts

By Lyndsey Layton

As lawmakers and health experts wrestle over whether a controversial chemical, bisphenol-A, should be banned from food and beverage containers, a new analysis by an environmental group suggests Americans are being exposed to BPA through another, surprising route: paper receipts.

The Environmental Working Group found BPA on 40 percent of the receipts it collected from supermarkets, automated teller machines, gas stations and chain stores. In some cases, the total amount of BPA on the receipt was 1,000 times the amount found in the epoxy lining of a can of food, another controversial use of the chemical.

Oil spewing from well near Louisiana marsh

Adding insult to the Gulf's injury, an oil platform hit by a tugboat early Tuesday is now spewing oil and natural gas near a Louisiana marsh area. Boom placed around 100-foot-high plume; tugboat hit well, officials say. While there was no estimate of how much oil was gushing, officials said the mile-long slick it created was small compared with the Gulf spill. The oil and gas is shooting up 100 feet into the air, officials said, as a private contractor was called in to try to cap the well. While small in size, the spill weighed heavy on locals. "We cannot catch a break," Deano Bonano, Jefferson Parish emergency management director, said in a note to parish officials.

Do drone attacks make life and death worth less?

A senior United Nations official recently warned of the emergence of a "PlayStation mentality to killing", conjuring up an image of armies on the battlefield being replaced by unseen, nerdy teenagers spraying bullets and missiles with joysticks as wantonly as they already do when playing video games. Israel is one of the pioneers of these technologies. The first remote-controlled machines were surveillance aircraft built to fly over Lebanon in the early 1980s, as Israel invaded and then occupied the country for 20 years. Today Israel is the world leader in developing and selling unmanned aerial vehicles – or drones, as they have come to be called.

Keep in mind that it was someone in the US military that leaked the documents to WikiLeaks. This means that there is a spark of rebellion within the Empire itself.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IMHO any member of Congress should serve for the average working wages of the nation, and their persona. wealth should be in a blind trust like the President, so that personal finances do not influence votes (the way they did during the 2008 TARP debacle). When the nation 3as formed, being a member of congress was a part-time honorary thing. The representatives and senators all had regular jobs and businesses with which they paid the bills. There was never supposed to be a permanent ruling class in this country. Congress is supposed to be a representative body, meaning it should include doctors, teachers, engineers, carpenters, manufacturers, farmers, etc. not be a body composed almost entirely of ultra-rich lawyers.

Consumers, Wall Street disagree on economy

Americans' confidence in the economy faded further in July, according to a monthly survey released Tuesday, amid job worries and skimpy wage growth. That's at odds with Wall Street's recent rally fueled by upbeat earnings reports from big businesses such as chemical maker DuPont Co. and equipment maker Caterpillar Inc. That's because the pumped-up profits are being fueled by cost cuts like layoffs and overseas sales. In fact, big companies have shown few signs they're ready to hire.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Du Pont sells chemicals to the war machine and Caterpillar sells armored bulldozers to Israel. Beyond that, as the scandal with BofA a few weeks back illustrates, the earnings reports are exaggerated at best, and at worst, complete frauds. Mark to Market accounting is still being allowed despite the disaster of ENRON.

The same sorts of techniques are also found in all sorts of other injustices, including censorship, sexual harassment, police beatings, torture, war and genocide. Therefore, it is predictable that the Israeli government, in its attack on the Free Gaza flotilla, would use the same techniques - and that is exactly what happened.

The law, signed last week by President Obama, exempts the SEC from disclosing records or information derived from "surveillance, risk assessments, or other regulatory and oversight activities." Jubilee is an ancient Hebrew tradition in which every fifty years society is "reset." Debts were forgiven, slaves were freed, property restored to those it was taken from. It's even in the Lord's Prayer, "Forgive us our debts..." Rome adopted this tradition, as long experience had shown them that the practice of lending money at interest inherently destabilized society. Rome instituted numerous limits and occasional outright bans on the practice of usury out of fear that soaring debt would drive their people to rebellion. When Christianity became Rome's official religion, many Hebrew practices were abandoned, including the Jubilee. Without that occasional push of the reset button, Rome's debts piled up until Rome fell.

Another $450 Million For Fighter Engine The Military Doesn't Want?

Despite vocal objections from President Obama and the Pentagon, and even a looming veto threat, a House subcommittee Tuesday voted to spend nearly half-a-billion dollars on a backup engine for its next-generation fighter jet.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A half billion for an engine that is intended as an alternate, i.e. not really to be used? Obama's US Assassination Program? Part 1

Sound too conspiratorial to be true? Like the cover-up ops of spy novels? Well, it's reality. And it is possibly the most bizarre, inhumane and abusive way that the White House is expanding its power over the American people.

It's not an extremist belief or theory of the far right. It's a fact that has been confirmed by The New York Times, The Washington Post and MSNBC and even documented by the far-left online magazine Salon.com.

And it's the gravest nightmare of U.S. citizens and abandonment of our Constitution to date: a presidential assassination program in which U.S. citizens are in the literal scopes of the executive branch based upon nothing more than allegations of terrorism involvement as the branch defines it.

LPS Data Shows GSE Foreclosure Starts Are Accelerating

Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are beginning to initiate foreclosures at a faster pace.

According to a new study from Lender Processing Services (LPS), GSE foreclosure starts have been accelerating and are currently at all-time highs. From May to June, foreclosures initiated by Fannie and Freddie jumped 21 percent.

The GSEs’ prime borrowers are performing the worst. Foreclosure rates among the agencies’ prime loans have soared nearly 400 percent since January 2008, with a notable hastening tracked over the last two months, LPS reports. That increase is second only to the swell seen in non-agency “jumbo” mortgages, for more than $729,750.

An explosion damaged a Japanese oil tanker as it exited the Persian Gulf on Wednesday. Though the cause of the blast was not immediately known, the ship's owner said the vessel may have been attacked.

Has the Most Common Marijuana Test Resulted in Tens of Thousands of Wrongful Convictions?

The Duquenois test was developed in the late 1930s by a French pharmacist, Pierre Duquénois, while he was working for the United Nations division of narcotics. In 1950, he completed a study for the UN which claimed that his test was “very specific” for marijuana; it was adopted by the UN and crime labs around the world as the preferred test for marijuana.

After undergoing several modifications, including the use of chloroform, the test became known as the Duquenois-Levine test, and became widely popular. Though scientists would show in the 1960s and 1970s that the D-L test was nonspecific, meaning it rendered false positives, it remains today the most commonly used test for marijuana — used in many of the 800,000 marijuana arrests that take place each year.

It’s time to take this slur of anti-Semitism and say it’s a badge of honor and say that at least you’re not a slave to their obvious lies and only a fool or a coward cares what anyone calls them, when you can prove the truth that you don’t care what they pretend they are, you just care about what they do …and that they are not Semitic anyway that the Palestinians are the original inhabitants of the land and that the DNA tests prove it so call me what you like and that power is on the way to being turned against them and nail them on what is provably true and write and sing and say it, because what use is your life anyway, if you live in subjugation to them? Is it going to improve for you? Is that their intention? That’s not what they do.

Queen Elizabeth Fronts for Rothschilds ("Crown")

It is accurate to posit that Australia, New Zealand and Canada are not independent, sovereign countries. However, these nations are not owned and run by the UK; they are owned and run by the House of Windsor Crown Temple syndicate within the City of London Corporation. The head signatory of the Crown Temple syndicate is Elizabeth Windsor (Queen Elizabeth II of England).

It should not be forgotten that the most powerful financial syndicate in the Western World is that of the European Rothschilds. The Rothschilds, because of their power base inside the City of London Corporation, have a controlling membership of the London Crown Temple syndicate, and they also have executive control of the Vatican and the Mafia though the P2 Masonic Lodge in Italy.

5 Reasons NOT to Pay Your Credit Cards

Are you one of the millions of Americans trying to decide between paying your credit card bills and eating?

John Galt -- Activist Post

We live in a matrix that goes to unspeakable expense to nurture us from the teat to be good consumers. You are issued a tax collection number at birth (SS#), another artificial number for your credit worthiness (FICO), and then you're extended a certain amount of tokens to play "life" based on those numbers. This virtual currency, not unlike your earned Farmville coins, only has value because you give it value.

Jailhouse Letter from Ed Steele Explains How He Was Framed

After being held incommunicado for nearly a month, Idaho attorney Edgar Steele was finally able to get a letter out of the Spokane County Jail, where he is being held on shaky federal charges of “murder for hire.” He maintains that a confidential informant (CI) in the feds’ employ lied to the authorities regarding the alleged plot in order to cover up the theft of tens of thousands of dollars in silver coins the CI had stolen from Steele sometime earlier.

In addition to being an outspoken foe of the Israeli state and the Anti-Defamation League, Steele has spent the last half of his law career defending—often pro bono—the politically incorrect and especially those charged with “hate crimes,” thereby creating a case history that evidently has made him a federal target...

Chas Freeman – Nixon Center debate, “Israel; Asset or Liability?”

Is Israel a strategic asset or liability for the United States?

Interesting question. We must thank the Nixon Center for asking it. In my view, there are many reasons for Americans to wish the Jewish state well. Under current circumstances, strategic advantage for the United States is not one of them. If we were to reverse the question, however, and to ask whether the United States is a strategic asset or liability for Israel, there would be no doubt about the answer.

(Pot-Kettle-Black) US: Russians may not be in compliance, could sink new START pact
